The Fatal Wound
A/N: Well hey there! This I my first fic in over a year, but RL issues has been a bitch. I hope my old readers are still around, lol. Either way, enjoy.
------------
Ultimecia sat elegantly on her throne, her wickedly enchanting black wings draped around her shoulders. With an evil grin, she called upon her Sorcery, reaching out with her mind to the far reaches of the well-designed castle. Yes, the wretched Seed was near. She immersed herself in evil. Evil that could effortlessly crush the life from anyone who sought to oppose her, the same wickedness that she so loved. She was doom incarnate. To know her was to face death itself, to be at hell's gate, with the door open, one foot inside. None could challenge her.
I am the crisis
I am the bitter end
Whether the Seed, which had come to kill her came alone or not, she did not know, but it mattered not. She would slaughter them all the same, no matter the manner of their arrival. The pitiful Seeds, no matter their numbers, no matter their power, no matter what they did, they would be no matches for her. She would divide them, break them, make them pay for their insolence.
I'm gonna gun this down
I am divided
She was as a deadly swift blade, ready to cut down the Seed where they stood. Her power was unimaginable by the mere mortals. They knew not what they were getting themselves into. They were a group of scared children. The stupid fools had come with the hopes destroying her, and preventing the bittersweet agony of time compression.

Squall stood, just outside the door leading into Ultimecia's chamber. He had been in countless battles, slain hordes of faceless enemies, faced horrors unimaginable by most, but nothing could compare to this. Nothing could have prepared him for such a feeling, a feeling of utter fear, one that he had yet to experience. A cold sweat pulled out of his body, as he began to become engulfed in his own emotions. "No…" He thought to himself, shaking the fear from his heart, and the uncertainty from his mind. He couldn't afford to fret now, at the end of all things. Only two outcomes were possible. The first, Squall and his comrades would defeat Ultimecia, and be heroes. The second? They would die.
This is the real thing

now
This was it. It was the end. Everything they had fought for, everything they believed in, everyone they loved… Everything was on the line. It was all or nothing.
Squall stood in a trance, staring down the huge door to Ultimecia's chamber, his face pale, and his breathing shallow. "Let's go." He told the others.

He steadily unsheathed lionheart, making for the door. He forcefully pushed it open with his free hand, stepping over the threshold into a new world.
