A/N: Have wonderful holidays and stay safe, warm and peaceful!
And now... My holiday special.

Beach Entry

The air was salty and the waves moved in a smooth, mesmerizing pattern, lapping at the sand at her feet. Mama Higurashi smiled and picked up a small pearly white shell to add it to her collection.

She looked to where her father-in-law sat under an umbrella. reading a book. The old man had complained about sand getting in between his toes, but she knew it'd been just an attempt to sound grouchy, he loved their little escape to the beach trips.

A shriek and a splash made her look the other way.

In the hot rays of sunlight Inuyasha's hair, even damp as it was, seemed to shine. It was tied back with the tails of the scarf covering his ears, letting Mama admire his lean back. where he stood, sea water reaching his waist

"No, no, no, put me down!" Kagome, currently held in Inuyasha's arms, shrieked again, waving her hands and legs to get free. At the same time it looked like she was trying to climb up to his shoulders and away from the water.

"Just trust me and relax!" the boy barked at her. Mama smiled at the pair, Inuyasha trying to teach her daughter how to swim. "Relax, I won't let you go underwater. Just float your ass..."

"You better not make me drown," Kagome grumbled, but allowed Inuyasha to lay her in the water on her back, his arms remaining under her.

Mama giggled when she saw Souta with a shark fin tied to his back, approaching from the side, probably planning on grabbing Kagome's leg.

"Oi, brat, you spook her and I skin you!"

The 'shark' decided to find an easier prey. Mama - and Souta - knew Inuyasha was not going to ever hurt any of them, but there was no saying what retaliation could be dished out for pranking him right now.

The last time Souta played a trick on Inuyasha, goading him into watching a jump scare video on the internet, Inuyasha fed his homework to a bunch of dogs.

A:N: You know me, I almost never write holiday specials on the actual holidays.
