A/N: I know I didn't write much for this collection lately. First there were the holidays, then I got sick and it was dark and lack of creativity for me for weeks. And whenever I had a spark of creativity I pushed it towards Dog Guardian and Forest Spirit.
I'll try to post more often here, but no promises. Have a lovely 2020 and enjoy the entry!
Almost Perfect
Was there anything as beautiful as a nice summer afternoon with no clouds or jewel shards to hunt?
Shippou had enjoyed himself this day - playing with the village kids, tricking a few people and not doing any chores. It was almost perfect. Inuyasha and Miroku were helping the villagers build a new hut for a couple that was going to marry soon, Sango and Kagome aiding in food preparation.
No one paid him any mind when he sneaked to Kaede's hut. No one saw him approach the yellow bag holding sweets.
The day needed only one thing to be perfect.
Chocolate.
Kagome surely wouldn't mind some of the heavenly stuff gone.
As always, digging through the futuristic stuff was an adventure on its own. He wiggled his way inside the bag, moving past bundles of clothes, books with puzzling pictures or symbols, cups of ramen, medicine, all kinds of little things Kagome used to make their trip a bit easier.
That was when he spotted the thing.
It wasn't the first time he saw it - heck he even saw it on Kagome. But this particular thing - it was different than the usual ones she wore. For once it had some kind of short, thick fur rimming the edges. And the material that created the twin weird bowls was akin to fur as well, but even shorter and tinted delicate pink.
Chocolate forgotten - for now - Shippou emerged with the object in hand. He put it on his head and used its straps to keep it in place. Then he untied his hair to cover the straps. A check in the hand mirror Kagome had in her bag informed him that only the twin cones stood erect over his head, the fluffy fur in stark contrast to his orange hair. He giggled and made a few leaps across the little hut, flailing his hands.
"Ahaha!" the child exclaimed. "I'm Inuyasha, the mighty jerk! Keh and feh to my enemies!"
He froze in his happy jumping when he saw Kirara, until now napping on Sango's blanket, now looking towards the doorway.
"Uh... They're there, right?" he gulped. The feline meowed.
"If by 'they' you mean the owner of this bra and the one you tried to impersonate, then no, we're not them. But they are just right behind us," Sango giggled. Beside her Kaede was trying to smooth her own chuckles.
The women still laughed when a couple of minutes later Inuyasha and Kagome entered the hut. The pair was discussing Inuyasha's participation in the wedding, so the two amused females decided not to reveal that Shippou'd dashed under the floor just a moment ago.
Kagome's bra was never recovered from the spot where it was stuck in a dark corner in the area under Kaede's floor and then forgotten by the little fox, who in the end didn't manage to make the day perfect, but was glad he kept his hide.
