A Mistake

Mistakes have been made - that was what Mrs Higurashi thought one snowy afternoon, She stood near the entrance of the shopping mall, unable to go further in the building decorated with colorful lights ad sale signs.

She sighed. It had seemed like such a goo plan to take Inuyasha to accompany her on her shopping trip. He was able to carry much more than her and was pretty used to going to a mall or a grocery store now, after many such trips with Kagome. So, she had put a hat over his cute ears and had left the house with him in tow.

And now she was stuck between two potted Christmas trees near the door to the mall, besieged by half a dozen cute little children in bright jackets and with nightly shining eyes. The brave warrior of the past, who fought valiantly against untold horrors. was hiding behind her back.

"Santa!" called out a small girl.

"No, dummy, he's not Santa, he has no present bag," one of the older kids pouted at Inuyasha's lack of a sack.

"But he looks like Santa!" the girl pointed at Inuyasha, who hid in Mrs. Higurashi's shadow.

"He has no beard," said the third child, who stood more to the side. "Santa always has big beard."

"He's Santa!" the little girl stomped her foot as she declared her opinion.

"Hey, are you Santa?" another child asked Inuyasha, who glared at the while chaos of children (there's a memory of elephants and shiver of sharks. In Inuyasha's mind, packs of kids should be called chaoses)

"No, I ain't no Santa," he grumbled and the children looked crestfallen,

"So then..." the small girl tilted her head. "Are you Santa's helper?"

The hanyou's eye twitched.

Thankfully, before Inuyasha could respond, the parents of the kids came to collect them and Mrs. Higurashi could go on do her grocery shopping, along with the brave boy in a red hat.
