A/N: This was supposed to be entry for FFFE day 6 - Transformation.
The Dice
A dice rolled across a table top. It bounced off of a mug of tea and stopped.
"What did you get, Kagome?" asked a boy with dog ears twitching on top of his head. He wore a red shirt and had a giant white cup next to him, smelling of coffee
"Nine," the girl called Kagome said when she leaned over the table to see the dice. She glanced to the head of the table, where another silver-haired boy sat, his long hair in neat man bun. He gave her a regal nod.
"The sacred arrow you shot pierced Naraku's body and with a scream he burst in flames. In the matter of seconds he was reduced to smoke and only a broken doll with an arrow sticking out of it remained."
"Damn it, another puppet!" the dog-eared boy grabbed his mug and took a long sip as if to quell his anger.
"Calm down, Inuyasha, at least we won," Kagome reached out and patted his other hand.
"Are there any shards?" asked the last male sitting around the table, this one with black hair and soft voice.
"Yes, there are three jewel shards. If you wish to collect them, you will have to kill Naraku's wasps before they can carry it away," was the answer he got.
"Okay, Sesshomaru, I'll roll for Wind Tunnel to suck them all in," the boy announced and picked up a dice to throw it on the table, where it rolled over some scattered papers and narrowly missed a plate of oreos. "Ugh, I got two."
"You tried to use the Wind Tunnel, Miroku," Sesshomaru said slowly. "But all you managed to suck in was the miasma and poison from the wasps. You feel dizzy and will not be able to use this weapon for the rest of the day."
Miroku nodded grimly and made a short note on the sheet of paper in front of himself. The girl sitting next to him grabbed the dice.
"Okay, I'll try. I'm rolling try. I'll use Hiraikotsu."
The dice rolled across the table and stopped in front of Sesshomaru.
"Five. Vert well, Sango. You managed to kill all but one wasp and it managed to carry off one shard. You are left with two of them."
"Yay!" Kagome cheered as Sesshomaru pushed towards Sango two plastic diamonds. The other girl grinned and pushed them towards her.
"I'm giving them to Kagome," she stated and Kagome put her hand over them before she added them to the pouch laying next to her stack of papers.
"The shards were immediately purified as Kagome touched them," Sesshomaru supplied.
"So, is the battle over?" Miroku asked.
"Yes," Sesshomaru looked back to Kagome. "You get two Exp Points."
"Oh! I had ninety nine!" Kagome grinned at him.
"Well, then you level up to High Priestess, Kagome," he informed. "Mark it on your chart.
"Good job!" Inuyasha praised her and she smiled at him brilliantly.
"Everyone else gets one Exp Point," Sesshomaru informed the rest. "Miroku has minus two HP and Inuyasha has minus three HP and negative points to stamina, speed and agility."
"Me? Why?" Inuyasha glared at his elder brother.
"You suddenly realized that the wound you got in battle is more serious than you thought," Sesshomaru said plainly.
"Why am I feeling like you're nerfing me?" Inuyasha asked.
"You are mistaken," Sesshomaru said and picked up a sheet of paper covered in his neat writing. "I kept track of the battle"
"It was just a flesh wound!"
"It was a tentacle to the knee. I am aware your character is a tank, but this kind of damage is not a, as you put it, flesh wound," Sesshomaru didn't sound annoyed, rather somewhat amused. "In any case, you can be healed or wait until tomorrow sunset."
"I swear, Sesshomaru, you're so annoying at times..." Inuyasha grumbled.
"Oh, let me heal you, Inuyasha," Kagome gripped his wrist. "I have new awesome High Priestess powers!"
"Uh, sure," the hanyou couldn't help, but smile at her enthusiasm.
"Cab Sango nurse me back to health?" Miroku asked. "Preferably with a kiss?"
"You just wait until you feel better, I'm going to go search the near area for a good camp site," Sango snorted and patted Miroku on the shoulder.
"After a break," Sesshomaru nodded. "Now, everyone take a dice. I just heard the delivery man from the restaurant and we have to determine who will go get the food."
