Lizzie's POV
I was anxiously sitting in my usual spot with my eyes glued on the TV awaiting for the event to begin, the crew was as rowdy as usual their excitement infectious for everyone but myself, I was more worried than I'd originally let on to Harry and Gil when I told them Uma would be back since we didn't have the time to have worked out a definite and solid plan, I don't even know if she was okay out there.
"Yeh okay?" I turned seeing Harry appear beside me leaning against the table.
"Yeah, I'm okay" I nodded at him with a soft smile but he didn't return it.
"Can we talk outside?" he asked making me frown.
"About what?" I pressed but he didn't answer and just started walking outside, I furrowed my brows looking around at the crew but none of them were even interested that he'd left so I sighed and got up from my seat and followed him out. "What's wrong Harry?" I asked once I went through the batwing doors seeing him standing on the dock looking out at the water with his back turned to me.
"We haft teh talk?" I knew exactly what he was talking about and my face dropped into a frown.
"Harry do you really think now is the time for this?" I asked him a little harshly but honestly, I had too much on my mind to even be thinking about this right now.
"I think it's the perfect time princess" he spat turning to me.
"Well it's not and don't call me princess" I turned around walking back inside but of course he wouldn't let me get away and I felt his hand grip my wrist and pulled me back around.
"I want yeh to be me girlfriend Ilizabeth" he spoke and my eyes widened by his straight to the point statement.
"Harry...don't" I told him shaking my head at him. "Don't do this now"
"Then when?"
"I don't know but right now is definitely not the right time to even think about the chance that there can even be an us" it wasn't that I didn't want a chance to see if my feelings for Harry were true but if this didn't pan out then could never happen, my mother still being a massive threat to any true happiness I even attempted to get while trapped beneath this dome.
"It's on, it's on!" we heard Gil call out excitably and we both turned before sharing a quick look then headed inside seeing the news coverage on this 'Royal Cotillion' event thing, we've never been so excited about an Auradon event until now, all our eyes now glued to the screen watching guests arrive.
"Evie, you look beautiful!" we could hear the press yell out as the traitor Evie walked into the camera views, she was wearing a dress her signature dark blue color.
"Thank you so much" Evie smiled posing for the cameras like some Auradon princess...gross and even more traitorous.
"Did you design the barrette?" they kept calling out questions.
"It's beautiful, isn't it?" she smiled touching the small gold crown barrette in her hair. "Uh no it's not my creation, many of the hair accessories this evening are by a fabulous new designer, 'Dizzy of the Isle'..." that made me smile a little, feeling a little proud and happy for little Dizzy. "Thank you so much" she quickly added as some guy came up and took her hand leading her onto the expensive looking yacht that this event was being held on.
The rest of the guests arriving were a bore to us and the crew went back to being their rowdy bunch but I kept my eyes locked on the screen, purely just to avoid Harry's eyes as I could feel him lurking not far away with his eyes on me.
"Are you okay?" Gil asked and I turned glaring at him.
"Why does everyone keep asking me that, I'm fine" I spat and he just gave me his usual look.
"We're all just concerned about you"
"Well thanks Gil but I'm fine" I replied just as we heard the trumpets on the screen making my eyes snap back to the screen.
"The future Lady Mal" the royal announcer yelled and Mal stepped out looking god awful in a dress that was Auradon blue and yellow, the cheers from the other traitors and those Auradon prisses was sickening since they didn't know who they were really cheering for, she didn't deserve anything she got.
Mal headed down the carpeted staircase towards the former King and Queen, Belle and Beast and they shared happy smiles making me practically want to gag before Evie walked up taking Mal's hand before the camera panned elsewhere back to the announcer, I think Lumiere was his name the rusted old candlestick butler of the royal family.
"King Benjamin!" Lumiere announced and Ben walked out in a formal blue and yellow suit and Harry being Harry threw a piece of fish at the screen ranting about how he should've 'hooked' him and I couldn't help laugh a little to myself silently agreeing with him.
The young King walked down the stairs heading straight for Mal but my eyes furrowed when I didn't see him even smile at her, wow did we really cause that bad of a rift between them...I smiled at the thought until suddenly another spotlight flicked on and my eyes widened when Uma walked on the dock of the ship dressed in a teal laced dress with various shells and sea objects decorating it.
"I drew that dress!" I exclaimed in shock recognizing it.
"It's beautiful" Gil said making me smile nodding at him before I turned back to the screen feeling excited since finally we were getting a real chance to get off this god forbidden island.
Uma smiled at him heading down the stairs and Ben met her half way up the stairs taking her hand making me frown a little before I remembered that I'd given her Mal's spell book and knowing there was a love potion in there and that had to be what she'd done.
"Sorry it all happened so fast, something happened to me when I was on the Isle with Uma...a connection" Ben said looking at Mal whose face was absolutely priceless, the heartbreak was downright exhilarating as she watched Uma and Ben share a look and giggled between themselves.
"What are you saying?" Mal asked him choking up looking like she was fighting back the tears which made me smirk.
"I'm saying-"
"It was love...it was" Uma replied for Ben then giggled, a confused murmur went through the crew as they all turned towards me.
"It's a ruse" I shrugged answering their unanswered questions, this had to be all just a ploy for the wand which was in the hands of Fairy Godmother literally behind them. "I just...I realized how alike Ben and I are, you know?"
"We are" Ben agreed sickeningly and Uma giggled again nodding her head at him.
"Ben...Ben" Mal called him as he was ignoring her and staring straight into Uma's eyes before they both turned to her. "Did you go back for her?" Mal asked him and I scoffed since if he had we'd all be off the island by now.
"He didn't have to, I dove through the barrier before it closed and I'm an excellent swimmer so..." Uma explained.
"You are" Ben laughed cutting her off.
"Thank you" Uma giggled again before they went back to sickeningly staring into each other's eyes again and I smirked once again at Mal looking like she was holding back tears. "Listen Mal I just really want to thank you" Uma suddenly added grabbing Mal's hand and my smirk fell. "I do...for everything" my eyes widened even further when Uma hugged Mal.
"Don't you see Mal you were right" Ben added stepping up behind Uma looking at Mal. "You knew that we weren't meant to be together, that's why you never told me that you loved me" he added.
We watched as Uma began dancing with Ben to the famous song 'Kiss the girl' by Sebastian the crab from when Ariel and Eric were courting and we all started laughing at Mal and the others taking off but they suddenly stopped when Lumiere gave an order and some guards uncovered a stain glass window which showed Mal in her signature purple colors and sporting green eyes with Ben knelt at her feet before Mal and the others had had a chance to leave and my amusement dropped at the look on Ben's face as he stared at it.
"Oh...Evie Ben's known who I was all along" we all heard Mal say when the cameras turned to see her reaction and I frowned watching her stare up at the glass window.
"He loves the real you Mal" Evie agreed making my frown deepen.
"A true love" Mal said and my head snapped up to the TV again with a glare.
"COVER THAT BACK UP!" Uma suddenly yelled turning back to the Lumiere.
"I will not" he argued offended in a thick French accent.
"Um...why don't you tell everyone the present you have for me Ben?" Uma replied after a nervous chuckle as everyone around her started murmuring.
"I have an announcement!" Ben called out getting everyone's attention. "Uma will be joining the court tonight as my lady" Ben added taking Uma's hand again once she stepped beside him.
"Son-" Beast said walking up to his son.
"NOT NOW DAD!" Ben yelled and my eyes widened since that was the most rage I'd seen from him and smirked not knowing the young beast had it in him. "Uh so...as my gift...uh...to her...I'm bringing down the barrier once and for all" Ben said and my eyes widened before a smile broke out since this was it and Uma was actually doing it.
"Mateys" Harry called and we all turned to him. "WE RIDE WITH THE TIDE!" he exclaimed our catch phase and we all cheered before turning back to the TV.
"Fairy Godmother...bring down the barrier" he instructed.
"I most certainly will not" the Fairy Godmother protested.
"I am your KING!" Ben yelled.
"Obey him!" Uma added and everyone gasped while Uma grabbed both Ben's hands to get his focus back on her making sure he was looking at her.
"Ben!" Mal called out and Ben turned to her. "Ben...look at me" she said walking towards him.
"No look at me" Uma argued and Ben looked like he was watching a ping-pong match as they both fought to keep his eye contact. "You love me remember"
"No you don't" Mal argued and Ben turned to her.
"Yes you do" Uma said and I rolled my eyes since she should just grab the wand.
"Ben look at me"
"Bring down the barrier now!" Uma yelled back at the Fairy Godmother.
"I do not take orders from you" the old hag shot back so Uma turned back to Ben.
"Ben I never told you that I loved you because I thought that I wasn't good enough and I thought that it was only a matter of time before you realize that yourself but Ben that's me" Mal spoke pointing at the stain glass and Ben turned to look at it again. "I'm part Isle and part Auradon-"
"Ben eyes over here" Uma said again trying to gain his attention back and it worked for a second.
"-and Ben you've always known who we are and who we can be"
"Don't listen to her" Uma argued.
"Ben I know what love feels like now" Mal admitted before laughing. "Ben of course I love you, Ben I've always loved you" she added before she kissed him.
"No!" I yelled out in shock hoping that it wasn't going to work, that the fairytales weren't true but when she pulled away the look on Ben's face said it all as he gazed at her, the love I'd seen back on the ship was returning to his eyes as he smiled at her.
"Mal" I glared towards the screen.
"Ugh...give it to me!" Uma suddenly exclaimed reaching for the wand.
"Guards seize her!" the Fairy Godmother exclaimed holding the wand away from Uma who took off running to the side of the ship.
"No, no stop!" Mal exclaimed stopping the fast approaching guards. "Uma I know you, you are so much more than just a villain and you have to believe me because I've been there, do not let your pride get in the way of something you really want" Mal preached and I rolled my eyes watching Uma look around judging her options before she jumped overboard and I smirked since Uma had the advantage in the water and it proved when she emerged in a wave of water sporting teal blue tentacles just like her mother.
"True loves kiss won't defeat this" Uma laughed. "The world will know my name!" she exclaimed before lashing out with the tentacles whipping them towards the yacht and Mal suddenly walked off to one side of the boat and we saw her eyes glowing bright green and was suddenly covered in a thick cloud of purple smoke before my eyes widened seeing her emerging as a purple dragon and that's when the feed cut out.
There was a round of protests from everyone in the Chip Shoppe and likely the whole island while I watched as everyone raced outside to stand on the docks no doubt to watch the horizon instead seeing as we were in the dark but I decided to stay already knowing it was over and it proved when the feed returned to a celebratory dance on the ship with Uma not even in sight...I knew it was pointless to continue to get our hopes up since the stacks were always going to be against us, we were children of villains and we didn't get a happy ending and I hope Mal suffers that one day since it's inevitable.
I stood up and headed out of the Chip Shoppe just as someone was walking back in and bumped straight into them, I would've been knocked completely over if it wasn't for the arm that wrapped around my waist that kept me on my feet and I rolled my eyes when I met familiar ocean blue eyes.
"Sorry" he apologized and I frowned but nodded my head and stepped around him. "We lost"
"I know" I replied walking through the batwing doors. "We're villains Harry, we're forced to suffer for the heroes happiness, that's why we can't do...whatever it is that happened between us" I told him and his face fell and I could see the protest forming in his eyes. "You need to accept that Harry and we need to remain friends" I told him looking at him before I started heading towards my hideout.
"No we don't!" he yelled following me. "I can't be just your friend anymore"
"Well then that's your loss" he caught my hand again and pushed me against the closet wall making me glare at him.
"Get off me!"
"Listen to me Ilizabeth" he cupped my cheeks forcing me to meet his eyes but he didn't even say anything instead his lips met mine, my eyes scrunched together as I lifted my hands in order to push him away but feeling his lips moving against mine, my resolve was being washed away and they wrapped around his shoulders instead.
The moment he noticed I wasn't resisting his hands dropped to my waist and he lifted me up against the wall breaking the kiss momentarily as my legs moved around his waist before our lips were moving back together again and I was quickly getting completely lost in everything that was Harry Hook that we were completely oblivious to everything around us...we pulled apart for much needed air both smiling at each other before my eyes widened seeing my mother's goon right behind him.
"Harry!" I yelled but was too late as he hit him over the head. "Harry?!" I steadied him but they'd knocked him out. "What the hell Ace!?" I yelled glaring back at Ace, my mothers right hand man.
"Your mother wants to see you" he replied.
"That doesn't mean you had to knock him out!" I exclaimed lowering Harry against the wall checking him over seeing the deep red mark on the side of his head above his left eyebrow, it wasn't bleeding but he was definitely out cold.
"I don't particularly want to deal with Captain Hook's wannabe son trying to protect you" I glared at him.
"Tell my mother to go screw herself" I spat at him gently shaking Harry's shoulder trying to wake him up.
"That's not an option kid" he argued and before I knew I was being yanked off my feet by two other goons.
"No, I can't leave him here!" I yelled as they started pulling me away. "Let me go, I'm not leaving him unconscious...let me wake him, he'll let me go...I'll go with you just let me wake him!" my eyes met Ace and gave him a pleading look. "Ace come on, I've never asked you for anything and I'm telling you I'll go with you without protest knowing what my mother has in store for me"
"Let her go" he nodded and the others let me go and I quickly moved over to Harry skidding to my knees.
"Harry...Harry!" I tapped his face a little hard but it did it's job and he woke up blinking his eyes open before they widened and he got to his feet grabbing me and pushed me behind him while pulling out his sword in one fluid motion. "No stop!" I grabbed his hand on the hilt of his sword. "Don't!" I pushed it down forcing him to lower the sword.
"What are you talking about?" he asked looking at me over his shoulder.
"Just listen to me Harry" I told him moving around him to face him. "I told them I'd go with them if they let me wake you up, I couldn't leave you here unconscious"
"Ilizabeth no" he shook his head but I cupped his cheeks forcing him to look at me.
"I have to go Harry, this has been inevitable from the day that I left"
"Your mother's insane!" he protested and the loyal goons behind me all glared at him.
"You have to let me go, I don't want her to come after you"
"I don't care, let her come for me" I frowned leaning closer to him.
"I can't do that, you mean the world to me which is why you have to do this for me, you have to let me do this" I whispered in his ear pretending to hug him.
"You're crazy if you think I'm going to let you go back there" he argued when I leant back from him slowly walking backwards, our hands outstretched holding onto each other's hands.
"I'm mad, I know that" I nodded squeezing his hand as I felt Ace's hand on my shoulder. "So what if I'm crazy, the best people are" I gave him a grin that rivalled the Cheshire Cat. "All the best people are crazy which is why I love you because you and I are the same Harry Hook" I added feeling a single tear slip out of my eye as Ace started to pull me back forcing me to let go of Harry's hand which he didn't like and tried to reach out again but I shook my head. 'Don't come after me' I mouthed to him and he frowned but didn't follow and once we were out of sight I turned and started walking in front of them.
We moved wordlessly through the alleyways, everyone that we passed quickly moved out the way and I couldn't help feel like I was walking to my death with all their pitying looks, I hesitated when we walked past Gil who looked like he was stealing eggs from the produce cart.
"Lizzie?" before I could even answer I was shoved by one of the other imbeciles, he had a club on his cheek and I recognized him as one of the ones that beat me the last time I left my mother.
"I'm walking!" I exclaimed glaring back at him before I turned back to Gil. "Keep Harry away from my mothers mansion!" I yelled back at him. "Promise me Gil!"
"I will" he nodded as I was shoved again.
"Enough!" Ace told him and I smirked smugly when Club glared at me.
As we started heading out of the bazaar and into the more rural parts of the Isle I felt my confidence start to waver especially as we passed Hell Hall and The Castle Across the Way seeing my mothers place looming on the hill surrounded by it's mazes.
"You know the way" Ace told me and I rolled my eyes.
"Probably better than you idiots" I snapped at them with a glare as they pushed the iron gates open, I took a deep breath before I headed in turning at the right times from my memory knowing I will never be able to forget...right...left...left...right...left and a right...I exited the maze and started walking towards the bright blood red painted front door.
"Go on in" Ace told me and I sighed putting my hand on the doorknob pushing it down and walked right in feeling the suffocation set back in immediately from being forced back here, I walked through the main hallway to the end breathing in one last time before I walked into mothers throne room finding her sitting atop her throne, an evil smile on her face.
"Welcome back daughter" she sneered as the door closed automatically behind me.
