A/N: Ok I just wrote it as a plot bunny and then realized that it might be read as kinda shippy so just heads up that you can read it as very early inucest. I guess? If you read it, let me know what you think.

A Miracle

"I can't believe my own eyes." breathed out Myouga. "And I'm just staring at this."

"Yes, it is quite a bizarre and unexpected sight. This one has not expected to witness it," said the man clad in white, too captivated by the vision to brush the flea off of his shoulder.

"A miracle."

"Quit staring, you two idiots!" Inuyasha barked from where he was carefully coating Tessaiga's blade with a new layer of oil. "It looks like shit not because I didn't take care of it! It looks like shit because dad didn't bother to do it!"

"Yeah, dogs are known for their poor dental hygiene," Kouga nodded wisely from where he sat on the other side of the campfire where three youkai and a hanyou were camping for the evening.

Sesshomaru's light whip flashed across the little meadow and struck the wolf across the face so hard that he fell over.

"Oi!"

"Don't be so bold to spout nonsense about your betters," warned the daiyoukai.

"Yeah, especially when it is you who has to sit downwind from us," Inuyasha snickered and returned to his work.

Sesshomaru ignored the wolf rising to a sitting position with his hand against the already healing burn and muttering curses. He was more captivated with watching his little brother calmly and with surprising deftness working on the legendary sword of their father. He might have been a fool and he might've been lacking in formal training with the sword, but at least he didn't dishonor the bloodline by not knowing how to take care of a katana.

He glanced down to where his own swords lay next to him. Maybe he could ask Inuyasha to oil his blades too? His gaze drifted to the hanyou hard at work.

Maybe not today though. This miracle of trust had to wait a bit longer.
