Had an idea and wrote this in like twenty minutes. Set maybe two years after "Cleaved."

A notification illuminated the screen of Marco's phone, drawing his attention away from the paper on which he was diligently at work. He checked the notification:

Your package has been delivered!

"Awesome!" He stood up from his desk, hurried down the stairs and out the front door, jogging down the front walk to the mailbox. Sure enough, there was a small package inside, along with a number of envelopes. He gathered the contents of the mailbox and hurried back inside to the kitchen.

Star was sitting at the kitchen table, eating a cupcake. She noticed the excited smile on her boyfriend's face and the package in his hands. "Get something good in the mail, Marco?"

He set the box and stack of letters on the island countertop and searched a drawer for a pair of non-dimensional scissors. "Yeah! Remember when my Mom's favorite mug broke in the dishwasher last month?"

"Yeah?"

Marco opened the scissors and slid the blade along the packing tape which sealed the box flaps. "I tried to find her a replacement online, but I couldn't. What I did find was a company that would print whatever I wanted on a mug." He reached into the box and pulled out an object covered in bubble wrap. "So I recreated the design on the original and emailed it to this company and they made me a perfect duplicate of mom's favorite coffee mug-you've got to be kidding me!"

"What's wrong?"

Marco stepped over to the kitchen table and held up the mug for Star to see. Sure enough, it bore his meticulous recreation of the original mug's 1965 Northern Llama Rancher's Association logo, but it also had a massive SAMPLE watermark stamped across the center of the design. Star couldn't help but laugh. "Oh, Marco! That's terrible, but it's also really, really funny!"

Marco sighed and returned to the island, setting the disappointing mug back into the box. "Guess I'll have to find something else to give mom for Mother's Day." He pushed the box aside and looked through the rest of the mail. He paused at a rather official looking envelope, frowning at the recipient's name. "Star, you got a letter in the mail."

"I did?" she replied with equal surprise and confusion. She stood and hurried to the counter. "But I never get mail!"

"I know!" He handed her the envelope and letter opener. "Have you ever gotten anything in the mail?"

"I honestly don't think I ever have!" Star slid the letter opener through the top of the envelope and ripped it open. "How exciting! My very first Earth-mail! Well, Earth-ni mail, I guess." She extracted a folded sheet of paper from within.

Marco watched her study it. "Well? What's it say?"

Star's excited smile faded and her eyes fell. She groaned and handed the letter to the Marco.

The letter was printed, topped by a very official-looking letterhead from the City of Echo Creek. He read the opening line aloud.

"Dear Star Butterfly, by order of the City Echo Creek, California, you have been summoned to appear for jury duty- Oh."

And that's it. Kudos if you caught the obscure Phineas and Ferb reference.
