Chapter 2-5

David licked Felicia's shoulder like a lollipop before pulling back. He held himself above her like he was doing a push-up and looked down at the platinum-blonde girl ravenously. He leaned down to kiss her once more before he felt a tingle in the back of his neck. It wasn't his spider-sense going off but it did feel like something was crawling across his nape. He subconsciously slapped the back of his neck and felt a gooey black substance cling to his palm. He examined the substance in his hand and ceased his love-making attack on Felicia and stared at the gooey black substance dancing in the palm of his hand.

Felicia saw the black spidery substance and jolted slightly. She looked at his hand before looking David in the eyes. "What is that stuff?"

David sat up on his knees and turned his hand around, the black substance crawling like a spider to the back of his hand. He made a fist and the black substance crawled between the fingers of his fists.

Huh, it decided to act against my will. When I first noticed the goo crawling around on my fingers, I was disgusted. Now, I have a chance to get a look at it for real.

He opened his hand and the substance fell flat against his palm, forming a V shape. "I don't know. I don't know what it is exactly, but it's what my costume is made of apparently." He crawled to the wall beside him and sat up against it, oblivious of the fact that he was still naked. "When I woke up tonight, I was wearing this black suit and dangling from a crane. I swung around for a few hours and noticed this black stuff crawling up and down my limbs." He closed his hand over the goo. "Whatever it is, it's made my suit."

"It's kinda gross," Felicia said as she sat up next to him, still naked. "It's like water that's alive."

David held his other hand up and the symbiote leaped to his other hand and danced around for a short while. "You want to say hi to it; I think it's attracted to you."

Felicia held her hand out. The symbiote jumped onto her hand and danced in the palm of her hand. She winked at it and the symbiote froze up.

"What didya do? Use your bad luck powers on it?"

She nodded. "My bad luck powers only work on living things. While I can use my bad luck powers on inanimate objects, like glass, I have to concentrate really hard in order for it to work. With living things, all I have to do is wink and bad luck befalls them. Since I winked and this thing froze up for some reason, it's a living organism." She looked over at his bare chest. "Whatever is on you is a living organism."

Huh, so Felicia can use her powers to cause my living suit to lock up. No way, I'm NOT going to let her have an advantage over me. I gotta figure out a way to get around her ability.

And right on cue, the black goo seeped through David's skin and began to cover him in his black Spider-Man suit. Felicia winked at the symbiote and the symbiote stopped spreading and retreated into David's body, leaving him bare once more.

"Aww, look at how you undo me, Felicia. How does it feel to know that you can cause me to become naked whenever you want?"

Felicia laughed. "Seems nice, Spider. I can see you naked whenever I want." She looked down at his chest once more. "But don't worry, I'll show mercy."

The symbiote in her hand jumped off and reattached itself to David's body and sank into his skin.

"So, how does it feel having a living organism bonded to your body?"

David gives a half-hearted shrug. "Feels good, actually. I've never felt better. I can climb, jump, and my spider-sense is back. I can stick to any surface from any part of my body. I feel like I can do more and the one thing I want to do is go out there and kill whoever I want."

Felicia stared David in the eyes and narrowed them. After some pondering, she licked her lips and looked ahead. "Someone seems a little excited. Might want to cool your jets for a second, Spider."

David looks at Felicia. He licks his lips before smiling. "Ahh, don't tell me you're growing a conscience on me, Cat. If it makes you feel better, I'm not going to kill the Superhuman Six. I'm going to slaughter them like lambs. I'm going to slaughter them then eat them."

Wait, eat them? Where did that idea come from?

"Honestly, Spider, the stuff you say makes me want to revert back to being a vegetarian."

"But if you're a vegan, you won't be able to have me for dinner, Cat." He smiled at her once more. "I've seen you do magnificent things with your mouth, Cat."

Felicia chuckled before looking away. "There's something different about you, Spider."

"What do you mean?"

"You're much more violent. And the way you ravaged me tonight was far more aggressive than before." She pointed to her right shoulder. "You left a bruise on me, Spider. It hurt a lot, Spider. I can't wear my favorite off-shoulder shirt for school today."

"I didn't hear you complaining, Cat."

"I guess we're a sadomasochistic couple, then. I thought my off-shoulder shirt was your favorite outfit."

"Eh, nothing is better than something in this case." He laughed.

Felicia chuckled with him. "But seriously, what's wrong with you, Spider? Did Hobgoblin hit you upside the head or something?"

David rubbed the back of his head. "Among other things. I swear to god, the next time I see him and those spider-phonies, I'm going to kill every single one of them. They bruised me, they beat me, they hurt me, they fucking humiliated me, and they betrayed me."

Felicia's ears perked up upon hearing the word 'betrayed'. A few thoughts run through her mind before she silences them. "I saw how they were fighting you. They attacked you and hurt you. You were injured. Sloppy performance you gave; you fared better against Octavius, and he didn't have any superhuman strength."

"Nope, just four mechanical tentacles welded onto his body. Hobgoblin injected me with some kind of formula that caused me to lose my powers. Had it not been for this black whatever bonded to me, I would've lost all my powers within the week. I can't wait to see the look on Hobgoblin's face when he sees that I have my powers back." He turned his naked body towards her. "This is what I'm going to do: I'm going play the weak card, I'm going to pretend that my powers have vanished and disappeared on me. When he's going to deliver the final blow, I'm going to let him get in close, and then I'm going to grab him by the throat and choke the fucking life out of him."

Felicia regarded David's plan before touching her chin, thinking of something. "Well, that sounds like a good plan and all, Spider, but there's a flaw in that plan."

David looked at her. "Oh, do tell."

"Hobgoblin isn't interested in killing you. I saw Hobgoblin up close and in person, sorta, and I could tell that Hobgoblin is not like Green Goblin or Detective Octopus. Hobgoblin is more focused on stealing rather than killing you. If anything, you're an inconvenience to him and he injected you with a power killer so you wouldn't be able to stop him. Honestly, it's those spider-fakers who are interested in you. Scarlet Spider, Spider-Man 2, or whatever they call the second one, and Silk."

"Oh yes, Scarlet Spider and that other faker, they're going to pay. I'm hatching a plan in my mind as we're currently talking. I'm going to corner them and kill them."

"Since when did you start killing people who aren't violent criminals? It's OOC for you."

"And Octavius wasn't a violent criminal and I still killed him. These spider-liars are my next victims." He stood up carefully and his symbiote began to cover him once more, his black suit returning. "If they're after me, they deserve to die."

Felicia struggles to get up, her legs still weak from their lovemaking, which prompts David to help her. "Thank you."

"Knowing our enemies from the inside-out is the first step to winning the battle. I know who Scarlet, Spider-2, and Silk really are. Hobgoblin, Scorpion, and Prowler, I'm going to figure out their identities and then set up a plan. The best-case scenario is that I kill them all at once in a single battle. But I would prefer if I killed them off one by one so I watch them tremble and shit their pants."

Felicia looked at David suspiciously as she pulled on her catsuit. She tied her hair back in a ponytail before donning her goggles.

David had been staring at her as she dressed, not taking his eyes off her body. He noticed that she did the same when they had sex, not taking her eyes off his body.

"She's so beautiful and she smells nice. She's definitely going to be your mate one day."

What the fuck, who fucking said that? Hey, if you're a voice in my head, speak!

Spidey turned and headed leaped towards the window. He opened it and put a foot through. Before he swung off, he looked over his shoulder and took one longing glance at Black Cat's backside. Black Cat turned towards him and winked at him.

"Don't stare for too long, Spider."

Spidey nodded before leaping out the window.

Who the fuck was talking in my head just now? Could it be this living organism that's bonded to me? Felicia's powers only work on living things and since it reacted to her, it's a living organism. But WHAT is it exactly? What the fuck is this black goo that's bonded to my body? After I kill the Super-Duper Six, I'll worry about my living costume.

Spidey swung all the way home to his apartment building. The sun was starting to rise and the wind was starting to get colder. It sent a small shiver down Spidey's spine as he leaped to his bedroom window and crawled through.

Now that he was inside his bedroom, he carefully closed the window behind him, not wanting to wake up his mother, and grabbed his mask.

Time for you to come off.

He yanked on his mask but unexpectedly, the mask did not budge. Spidey grunts in surprise and grips the top of his mask with both hands and begins yanking on the mask. He folds over as he tries to pry the black mask off his skin with all his might. He felt his mask beginning to stretch and make a squeaking sound as it began prying from his skin, but the mask slipped through his fingers and stuck to his head once more.

What the fuck!

Spidey grabs the chest of his costume and begins stretching it but the costume refused to comply. He pulled the costume off his chest with both hands about eight inches before the costume snapped back to his chest.

Son of a bitch!

"Don't do that!"

Spidey froze.

I'm not hallucinating; there really IS a voice in my head. But it's not my voice, far too growly to be my voice.

"Don't do that, please. What do you want? Pajamas, sure, no problem. Just say the word."

What the hell, I try prying off the black suit and I hear a voice in my head, oh my god, this costume really is alive. And based on its tone, it's feeling fear. It must be panicking that I might try and pry it from my body.

"Well, do you? Do you want me to dress you in pajamas?"

No, I want you to dress me up in a catsuit. No, better yet, a clown suit. Come on, humor me for a second, a catsuit or a clown suit.

"I need an answer."

David decided to answer. "Pajamas."

Two seconds later, the black goo around David's body morphed and reshaped itself until he was wearing a gym shirt and basketball shorts. David looked down at himself and tugged on his shirt. It stretched like a regular shirt would which made David look up.

Huh, that's interesting. In addition to making a black version of my costume and stripping me butt-ass naked, this living goo or whatever can whip up whatever clothing I want to wear. Another thing I noticed is that I asked for a clown suit or a catsuit in my head yet this alien didn't appear to hear me. So… while this voice in my head may talk to me in my head, it doesn't know what I'm thinking; It can't read my current thoughts.

"David," a soft voice called out from behind the door. The door slowly opened and stepped in Misa. She stood in the middle of David's doorway with heavy bags under her eyes, indicating that she hadn't gotten eight hours of sleep. "How are you doing?"

"I'm feeling better," David said energetically. "I feel great. I think my super-healing has healed me up already." He looked over to his bedside alarm clock. "School doesn't start for another few hours. I'm going to catch up on my sleep."

"Okay. I'll make your breakfast for the morning."

"Toast, eggs, bacon, and orange juice."

Misa nodded. "Your regular TE-BO, coming right up. And… no coffee."

David shrugged nonchalantly. "Eh, if it were up to me, I'd drink coffee but spiders don't like coffee."

"Okay. Since I got to go to work tonight, I'm going to sleep during the day."

"Understood, Mom."

"Are you sure you're okay, Davey?"

David rolled his eyes with a slight chuckle. "I'm fine, mother."

"Okay, just making sure." Misa closes the door.

"Your mother is so nice, David."

David didn't give whatever living goo that invaded his brain the satisfaction of seeing him react. David turns to his bed and sinks into it, landing face-first into his pillow and closing his eyes. While he did not attend the sleep cycle right away, he did have time to think. School was to start in a few hours and he would inevitably meet the spider-fakers.

Oh Cindy, Reilly, Morales, I can't FUCKING wait to meet you in school today. I'm already cooking up a plan on how to kill all of you. Better watch your back, Cindy, I'm going to come for you.

"Sleep now. Rejuvenate."

Man, this has been one interesting Christmas. First, I'm abused by three supervillains, one of which cures me of my superpowers. Secondly, I'm ambushed by Cindy and two other spider-freaks. Thirdly, I get on the bad side of Felicia's father, who may or may not have the same powers as Felicia and hates me. Fourthly, I get into a brawl that ends up badly injuring me. Fifthly, some weird black goo with a conscience heals me and takes over my body like some sort of alien parasite. What a fucking conga line of weirdness and eccentricity this Christmas has had.

He turned on his back and quickly sat up. He looked at the ceiling like a preacher addressing God. "Black goo, I know that you're alive. What the fuck are you?"

"Took you long enough to have a conversation with me."

"Are you a parasite?"

"Don't fucking call me that. Where I come from, parasites are lowlife scumbag thieves who get hanged by their throats in public; I am NOT a parasite. I'm a symbiote."

"I have so many questions that I'll ask later but there is one thing I need to know: are you or are you not on my side."

"What makes you think I'm on your side?"

"You healed me, amplified my powers, changed my clothing when I asked you to. You and I, do we have a mutual relationship or a parasitic relationship?"

"What did I say about calling me a parasite?"

"So you are on my side. Good to know."

"I'm only on your side because I thought it would be interesting to have Spider-Man as my host."

"I couldn't help but noticed that you bonded to me against my will. If you weren't on my side, I'd try and pry you off my body but I think you can be of use; you did heal me and dialed all my powers to eleven. If you can help me, then I'll return the favor and help you with whatever."

"You're speaking my language, David."

He knows my name, that's not something I can just ignore.

"Well, I am bilingual."

This alien parasite or whatever it is just admitted that he is on my side and given all the benefits he gave me, I now have the upper hand over the Half-Sinister/Half-Savior Six. It's time to come up with a plan. I'll just sleep real quick but when it's daytime and I encounter Cindy, it's time to play.

He sank into his bed and drifted off to sleep.

Midtown High

Cindy had gotten to school early this time for breakfast. She had to sneak back into her apartment building before her parents or brother discovered her but she evaded her parents like clockwork. She insisted on going to school early, mostly because she wanted to see David as soon as possible. She told her parents that she would get breakfast at school and pay for a small box of Froot Loops and milk. With bags under her eyes, she dipped a spoon into the cereal box and put it in her mouth as she looked at a group of kids sitting at a table in front of her.

She smiled warmly as she gazed at two people eating lunch together. In the few times Cindy had breakfast at school, she would always see this couple. They were named Haley and Nick. Haley was a rich girl who never seemed to run out of money when buying lunch. Her boyfriend, Nick, came from a poor family that could barely make ends meet. Haley, being a spoiled sweet girl instead of a spoiled brat, would always bunch breakfast and lunch for Nick as it was the only time he would ever get food for the day. No matter where they sat in the cafeteria, no matter the time of day, Haley would always buy food for Nick and for his family and it made Cindy's heart flutter at the sight of such a good deed.

"Good couple," she said to herself. "There are good people in this world."

She took another spoonful of cereal into her mouth and that's when she felt something in the back of her head. She paused with her eyes going wide. Her back suddenly stiffened and she put her empty spoon down on the side. She slowly stands up, suddenly becoming aware of her environment, of how many people were in the cafeteria, and how loud people were crunching on their food. She tilted her head like a curious dog and turned around.

"What's going on?" She put a hand to the back of her head. She rubs her hand up and down her nape and suddenly shivers. "What's happening?"

She stopped in the middle of the doorway connecting the cafeteria to the hallway. She stopped in front of a small group of people who were looking at her as she blocked their way inside.

"Excuse me," one of the students said politely, "could you move aside? I only have enough money for breakfast, not lunch. I'm going to save my breakfast and have it for lunch today."

The words didn't seem to reach Cindy. She just stood there, blocking everyone's path as the crowd began increasing in number.

"What are you supposed to be, a mime?" a second student asked. "Or a guard? Are they paying you to be a guard or something? I want money."

A third student approached Cindy. "What's going on? Excuse us." Instead of waiting for Cindy to comply, he slips past her and enters the cafeteria.

Cindy looks over her shoulder and her eyes trail the back of the student who just walked in.

"Cindy."

Cindy snapped ahead and faced David Dante and Ryan the bully. Her eyes darted between the two boys, the tingling in the back of her skull increasing with each passing second, her breath barely getting louder by the second.

David narrowed his eyes at Cindy and licked his lips.

Hi, Cindy. You treacherous bitch, I'm so going to fucking hurt you.

Cindy's eyes slowly met David's, almost as if she read his mind.

I see the look on her face; her Silk-sense is going off. Is it going off because of me? Eh, since my spider-sense isn't going off, it must be me her danger radar is reacting to. In order to keep her from acting irrationally, I got to present myself as NOT a threat.

"Why are you blocking the doorway?" David asked. "Don't you see this big group of people behind me? They're starving to death. School is probably the worst yet these guys swallow their pride and come to school early to get breakfast and class starts in three minutes."

The first kid from earlier jumped up. "Oh shit, I'm going to miss my chance." He ran past Cindy and ran for the closest line and waited patiently to buy his breakfast.

"Move out the fucking way," Ryan ordered. "I will fuck you up if you don't."

David laughed. "I don't think you're Cindy's type; she prefers someone who has a more developed brain."

"Fuck you, asshole." He looked at Cindy. "Move out the way, bitch!" He moved up to her and put his hands on her shoulder and pushed her back. Cindy stomped on the ground behind her, stopping her from falling, grabbed Ryan's forearms, and began squeezing.

"Finally," the second student from earlier threw his hands into the air. "Let's get breakfast, guys."

The students began walking into the cafeteria, completely ignoring the fact that Cindy is holding onto Ryan's hand.

David noticed something.

She must be confused or something. I saw how her eyes were darting between me and Ryan. I'm obviously more of a threat than Ryan but for some reason, Cindy is grabbing Ryan. Or... could it be... she knows that I involved Ryan in my scheme earlier?

He remembered something that made him smile.

Oh, that's right: Cindy's silk-sense is far more advanced than mine but far less reliable. Her silk-sense can't determine if I'm the threat or if Ryan is the threat. An idea just hatched into my brain.

"Let me go." Ryan yanked back. "Don't fucking touch me, bitch. All I want is to get one of those Rice Krispie treats for my little sister."

"David, what do you think we should do?"

David narrowed his eyes in response to the symbiote's question. He had only one idea on his mind.

If her silk-sense is overreacting and unable to determine whose the real threat is, then maybe the plan I discussed with the symbiote can work right now.

David tapped his middle finger against his palm twice, which was a signal he and the symbiote came up with on their way to school. The symbiote knew what to do next.

David ran and got between Cindy and Ryan. He pried Ryan free of Cindy's grip and put a hand above Cindy's chest but below her neck and pushed her back. He kept his hand on Cindy as he pushed her back, however, not removing his hand until Ryan massaged his forearm.

"You little bitch," Ryan sneered at her. "If we weren't in school, I'd slap you until your face turned red. Watch your back you little ho, winter break is just around the corner." Ryan walked to one of the lines and waited patiently to buy something.

The symbiote seeped out of Cindy's palm and crawled into her shirt before subtly sinking into her skin.

Thanks to the very LONG chat the symbiote and I had, I know EXACTLY what the symbiote is capable of and what it's NOT.

David carefully removed his hand from Cindy's thorax and looked her in the eyes.

Given that Cindy didn't react to the symbiote crawling into her chest, she must not know. Just for extra measure, I'll pretend like I'm going to attack her.

David slowly raised his hand, like a bully gearing up to slap their victim, and slowly brought their hand to her shoulder blade. He pushed his thumb into her shoulder and squeezed.

"Hello, Cindy," David said, hissing the C in her name. "What's up with the bags under your eyes? Didn't get much sleep last night?"

"What do you want, David?" Cindy pushed David's hand away. "What were you doing with Ryan?"

David shrugged. "We were just walking together in the same direction. As much as I hate Ryan, avoiding him completely is impossible. Kinda like Spider-Man and those copy-spiders."

Cindy clenched her jaw. "Or Joker and Batman."

"Yeah, just like that. I never pegged you for a DC fan."

"Marvel is superb but manga's been killing it recently. Especially My Hero Academia."

"You should be proud of your people, Cindy."

Cindy glared at him. "I'm Korean, not Japanese."

"Whatever." He looked over to what he assumed was her table. It was the same table he usually saw her sitting at. "Got here early for breakfast or something?"

"Couldn't sleep last night."

"Gee, I wonder why."

Before Cindy could retort, the bell rang, signaling to everyone that school that the first class was about to begin.

"See you later, Cindy." David smiled at her. "Hopefully tonight."

Cindy looked him in the eyes, studying him for whatever reaction she could, her thoughts racing.

"Yeah," she responded, adopting a smile on her face, "hopefully I will see you tonight."

"Hopefully, you give a better performance than last night."

A student who was walking by stopped and looked at them with a shocked look on his face. Cindy replayed David's sentence in her mind and she blushed.

David noticed the student. "What?"

"Nothing," the student said. "Nothing at all." He looked ahead before hesitantly looking back. "Any chance I can join in?"

David laughed. "You're a real pervert, Paul. But, you wouldn't be able to keep up with our S&M performance."

Cindy bumped shoulders with David as she walked away. Paul the Pervert seemed to have lost interest and walked away. David stayed standing a few feet from the doorway with a huge smile on his face. He stuffed his hands into his pocket and began walking to class. He pulled out his phone and put it to his ear.

"Well?"

"I'd say everything went according to plan," he said into the phone.

"I've planted a piece of myself onto Cindy Moon. I now know her exact location 24/7. Huh, 24/7; time works a little differently in my world.

"Good to know."

"Now there's only Reilly and Morales to worry about."

"It's okay, everything's going according to plan. Now we just have to worry about our other two friends." David pretended to hang up as he arrived at his first class.

"Also, can I just say that Cindy smelled nicer than Felicia?"

Thanks to my heightened sentences courtesy of the symbiote, I could smell Cindy more clearly and I gotta agree with what the symbiote said: Cindy smells much nicer than Felicia.

After School

As soon as school was over, Miles and Ganke started walking home. Miles unplugged his earbuds from his phone as he and Ganke zipped up their jackets and turned down an alleyway.

Ganke tapped Miles on the arm. "Miles, bro, did you find out what that green stuff was? That green stuff that your pal was stabbed with?"

Miles nodded. "Yeah, I analyzed it in science class."

"Secretly?"

"Yeah, secretly. Apparently, it's a poison that slowly causes the body's muscles to lock up, which would force the infected people to use more energy in moving their muscles, which would cause them to overexert themselves."

"Is there a cure?"

"Removing the poison from the body is the best way to treat it. And I sent the information to Mr. Ben so maybe he whipped up a cure or something."

"That's good. And you gotta be careful next time; who knows what will happen. That fire-"

Miles held a hand up. "I know, Ganke. I don't want to sound rude but-" He froze in place. Ganke walked forward a few paces and stopped only when he noticed Miles locked in place.

"What's going on, Miles?"

Miles slowly raised his hands. Before Ganke could question him, a ban wearing a ski mask approached them in the alleyway holding a gun. The gunman aimed for the back of Miles's head.

"You guys are fucked," the gunman said in a deep voice. "Give me everything in your wallets before I fucking kill you." He aimed his gun over at Ganke. "I'll kill this fatfuck if you don't comply."

Miles and Ganke slowly turned towards the gunman. They slowly reached into their back pockets and took out their wallets. They tossed them to the gunman, who was taller then them by maybe a foot.

"This is all the money we got," Miles insisted.

"We swear," Ganke backed up.

"Turn around," the gunman ordered. "I said turn around!"

"We got no more money," Ganke cried, "please, I-I"

"TURN AROUND!"

Miles and Ganke had no choice but to obey. Ganke looked at Miles as if he was expecting him to do something. The gunman approached Miles first and grabbed the back of his neck.

The black symbiote seeped out of the gunman's palm and crawled onto the back of Miles's jacket. As the gunman pulled away, he was suddenly tackled to the ground.

The Scarlet Spider arrived and he tackled the gunman to the ground, burying his face into the snow and disarming him of the gun.

"Holy crabcakes!" Ganke exclaimed upon seeing the Scarlet Spider. "You really saved our goose there, Mr. Scarlet Spider."

Scarlet Spider looked up at Ganke. He looked over at Miles. "Good work, guys, staying calm and collected I mean." He grabs the back of the gunman's mask and prepares to pull it off when his spider-sense suddenly went off.

"Get out of here!"

A roar as loud as a train horn screamed into the back of Scarlet Spider's head. He tried leaping out of the way but was unable to move in time.

"Ssscarlet Ssspider!" the booming voice hissed. "We will kill you!"

Scarlet Spider tried to move but his arms were pinned down and he was pushed to the ground beside the gunman when this creature dug his feet into the vigilante's back. He did manage to look over his shoulder slightly to get a small glimpse of the creature.

He wasn't able to get the big picture but he saw an all-black creature with giant milky-white eyes, no pupils, and a big mouth that extended from ear to ear with razor-sharp teeth and a long ass tongue.

The creature held its hand out and slashed Scarlet Spider across the back. Miles dove forward and charged for the creature. The creature parried out the way before bodyslamming Miles onto Scarlet Spider.

The black creature grabbed the gunman and pulled him into his chest, where he sank like a sailor in the ocean. The creature leaped back against the wall, breaking down completely into a liquid and slipping through cracks in the wall.

Recovering quickly, Scarlet Spider and Miles ran into the building the creature seeped through. The creature was nowhere in sight and the Scarlet Spider and Miles were looking at each other with confusion.

"What the heck was that?"

Scarlet Spider didn't answer. "We'll figure it out later." Scarlet Spider felt something crawl on the back of his neck. He slapped the back of his neck like he was swatting a spider but felt nothing.

"You think Spider-Man has something to do with that thing?"

Scarlet Spider shook his head. "Definitely not. Whatever that was… that was not human."

In another alleyway

The black creature slipped through the cracks of a building and become solid once more. It pushed the gunman out of its chest and picked him up and shoved him against the brick wall.

The gunman's eyes went wide behind his mask, prompting the creature to remove the man's mask, revealing the face of Ryan.

"You did well, Ryan," the creature hissed. "And as promised, we will protect you and your sister from now on." The creature gently let go of Ryan's throat and gestured for him to run, which he did. "Merry Christmas, Ryan."

The black creature leaped into the air, scaling the wall before it jumped to a window and crawled inside. The room it crawled into was an empty apartment room with just a working fridge and couch in the corner. The black creature collapsed to its knees and the goo around its face began pulling away… revealing the face of one David Dante.

Once the symbiote peeled away from David completely and seeped back into his body, David became whole again.

"Exactly as planned," he said aloud.

Earlier This Morning

Ryan was messing around on his phone as he walked across the street. After he dropped his sister off at school, he plugged in his earbuds and played music on his walk to school. Just as he was pocketing his phone, a hand reaches out, grabs him by the mouth, and pulls him into an empty alley. He struggles and fights his opponent but he was shoved up against the wall with his feet dangling. His eyes went wide at the sight of the creature in front of him… his fear made him sweat in this snowy atmosphere. He was completely helpless against this monster and could only stare into the monster's pupilless white eyes as he spoke.

"Ryan…" a deep, growly voice echoed. "Do you want me to eat you?"

Ryan screamed into the creature's mouth. "Mmmm-Naah!"

"Don't expect Spider-Man or any of those phonies to save you, no one knows where you are." The creature opened his razor-sharp mouth and sticks its long pink tongue out and licked Ryan across the forehead.

"I know all about you, Ryan. I've done my research on you. I know that your mother is a pill popper and that your older brother, Allan, is dead, and you're taking care of your sister. I also know that you're trying to make money to move you and your sister to a new apartment. It can be difficult to raise money, especially if your mother keeps relapsing and steals it. In fact, I can make it so difficult that your sister would be better off living in a foster home and away from you and your druggie mother."

"NO!" Ryan managed to scream in the creature's hand. "Not Chrissy!"

"All I have to do is kill you right here, right now. I could snap your neck, gouge your eyes out and make you bleed to death, or I can make myself at home on this planet and eat your brain. With you dead, your little sister will be left in the care of your druggie mother. How does that sound!"

"NO! PLEASE!" The creature pulled his mouth away and allowed Ryan to speak full sentences. The boy's head went limp and tears began pouring out of his eyes. "Please… no. Not my sister! Not Chrissy! No, not her! Please, don't leave her with my Mom, please!"

The creature smiled and dropped the sobbing boy to the ground. The creature crouched and grabbed the back of Ryan's head and forced him to look at him.

"Then I suppose you wouldn't mind doing something for me?"

"Please," Ryan sobbed, "whatever it is, whatever you want, I'll do it for you. Just, leave my sister alone!"

David Dante smiled behind the symbiote's eyes.

Looks like all the stalking and digging into Rayn's personal life paid off.

Present

"Exactly as you planned, David. I managed to put a piece of myself on Cindy, Reilly, and Morales. I know their current locations at all times."

"Good work and Ryan fulfilled his end of the deal; distracting Miles and Scarlet Spider so we can sneak up on them." David stood to his full height and looked out the window he crawled through. "It's time for part two of the plan." He put his hand on the wall and leaned against it.

"What are we going to do, David?"

"We're going to set up a hostage crisis."

David told him the rest of the plan, going into detail about location and timing and patterns he's picked up in the past.

"I see."

"So what do you think?"

"Condition, David, while I approve of this plan… I will NOT endanger innocent people."

David flinched. "Since when did an alien like you grow a conscience?"

"I don't know. When I expected to bond to Spider-Man, I was expecting to bond to a humble and nice guy but apparently, Spider-Man is VERY different from what I hear."

"How did you hear about me?"

"Irrelevant. My condition still stands, David. You can have your hostage crisis but I will NOT endanger innocent people."

David narrowed his eyes. "You're very different from what I expected, symbiote. You already care for humans, even though you're not human yourself. You must've had knowledge of humans even before you bonded to me." He shrugs. "Oh well. If you're so concerned about endangering innocent people, I won't do it then."

"Then how are you going to go through with your hostage plan?"

"I don't need an innocent person." He puts his hands in his pocket and smiles. "Cindy, Reilly, and Morales will save everyone's life, regardless if they're good or bad, and that's all I need to know. Rest easy tonight, symbiote, because I already have a solution to the 'no innocent hostages' situation. Trust me on this."

It took every ounce of willpower I had to just NOT lash out at this parasite. This fucker bonds to me and expects me to change my ways like some generic superhero? Fuck that shit. I'm going to trap Hobgoblin and Scarlet Spider in a situation where they can't win and when they least expect it, I'll kill them. Oh yeah, I'll kill them deader than dead and when it's all good and done, I'll do whatever I want. You know what, maybe I shouldn't kill Prowler. If Prowler is still alive, the Spider Act is still in place and I can do whatever I want. I can kill whoever I want and no one can stop me.

He folds his arms.

Doing whatever I want whenever I want, I can only do that when the Spider Act is initiated. On second thought, I hate Prowler too much to keep him alive. I'll leave Cindy alive but I'll frame her for murder and brand her a supervillain. I have the symbiote to do it and the brains to do so.

He stares out the window once more. He looks down at his hand and flexes his fingers, the symbiote goo dancing from finger to finger.

If this symbiote can restrain a human being, then I can't wait to use it on Cindy. All the stuff I can do to Cindy: choking her, gagging her, fucking-

He silenced his thoughts, his eyes perked up and narrowed in confusion.

Raping Cindy is something beneath me yet… why was I thinking about it just now?

A/N: So, what do you think of David now?
