Lizzie's POV
We had walked all the way back to Auradon Prep and headed for this princess' room letting ourselves in but she wasn't here either so Mal and Evie went to check the campus leaving Celia, Uma and I to scope the room out for clues, I smiled watching as Celica tried on the all of the princess' jewelry while I went through the bookcase looking at all the different books before I heard a deep sigh and turned seeing Uma laid out of on the bed reading a book but I saw that it said 'diary' on it and smirked knowing it was this princess' by the pink cover.
"Liz you gotta try this bed" she told me, I smiled running over and jumped down next to her and my eyes widened at how soft and plush it was, my bed in my mother's mansion wasn't even this soft and my current bed definitely any better since Harry and I slept on a couple of wooden pallets with a torn and crappy mattress he'd found with springs that dug into your back.
"This shames my bed back home 100%" I agreed trying not to think about my mother especially not having Harry around as I didn't need to flash back now and have a madness meltdown.
"Can I ask you something?" Uma suddenly asked and I looked over seeing her sitting up next to me so I followed crossing my legs with my shoes on the bed smirking a little a the evil little act. "Are you okay?"
"Why do you think I'm not?" I asked her back, Uma was my best friend but I wasn't ready to tell people about my mother and my nightmares, Harry only knew because we slept together and he had seen it firsthand otherwise I doubt I would've even told him by now.
"I saw you back in the kings castle, you were scared and with the way Harry was acting, I know somethings up" I sighed looking over at Celia but she didn't look like she was listening. "I'm your friend Liz and whatever's wrong I want to know"
"Okay" I agreed but before I could say anything the door opened and Evie walked in with Mal following behind her.
"She's nowhere on campus" Evie told us.
"Found her diary" Uma replied lifting the diary up to show them. "And dang did you ruin Audrey's life" she smirked with a laugh towards Mal.
"Okay so did you find anything in there that we don't already know or...?" Mal shot back.
"She hangs out at Fairy Cottage, you know where Flora, Fauna and Merriweather hid her mom from your mom" Uma replied and I smirked a little since wasn't that a wicked twist in the legacy flashback.
"Yes" Mal nodded with a fake laugh. "The irony is not lost on me"
"How can anyone with this bed be this unhappy" Uma complained falling back into the hoard of pillows again throwing her arms out and I laughed doing the same.
"Okay, how do I look?" Celia asked turning and posing in the chair, her head and arms full of jewelry.
"Okay the bling stays here" Evie told her after a short smile.
"But she's bad" Celia protested.
"And were not" Evie shot back and I scoffed as Celia started to take it all off.
"Speak for yourself" I whispered and Uma smirked being the only one to hear me.
Harry's POV
Splitting up with Lizzie just seemed like a bad idea and I would never admit to the traitors I was now stuck with but I was worried about her and what'll happen to her when I'm not around since if previous events were anything to go off we weren't good apart.
"Ben!" Carlos yelled out and I rolled me eyes since I really didn't care about the king or really care about finding him.
"Ben!" Jay followed up.
"Dude" Carlos called his mutt over.
"These things just grow everywhere" Gil stated picking berries off a bush and started eating them. "Hey, we should play that icebreaker" he turned to where Jay was standing. "Um...Jay, I like the way that you can bounce around and jump off things...these are free, right?" I rolled my eyes annoyed that I was stuck out here with them without Lizzie to make fun of them with.
"Yeah...um I like how you get a kick out of a berry bush" I heard Jay say as I while I marked a tree with my hook so that if I needed to find my way back I could, there was no way I was trusting these traitors not to leave us out here in the woods
"I guess you've probably seen everything by now, huh?" Gil asked him and I rolled my eyes since we weren't here to bond with the traitors. "Furry rocks, giant fish...you're probably used to grabbing lunch off a bush"
"No...I mean no not really" Jay argued grabbing some berries himself. "I mainly just use the vending machines at practice...you know Tourney kind of eats up most of my time, so.."
"Tourney?" I laughed cutting him off. "That's a wee boys game"
"Hey you know what would be fun...to go rafting on a jungle river" Gil spoke ignoring me and I frowned at that.
"Find a lost civilization" Jay agreed making my smiled widen.
"Oh or maybe a penguin" Gil added and I glared at the two of them leaning against a tree as I thought back on what had happened back in the castle, Liza had lost her sense of where she was and that worried me especially now that I'm not with her since it hadn't happened before so something back there must have been a trigger and that furthered my curiosity of what she dreamed about since she still wouldn't tell me.
"Oh well you find those more in like icebergs but I'd love to see one of those" Jay agreed again and I rolled me eyes annoyed with how well they were getting on.
"You guys a killing me" I exclaimed walking over to them and plucked a berry off the bush with me hook popping it into my mouth and hummed when I actually found the taste pleasant before I glared towards Gil since he better not turn his back on the crew like the rest of them had, I know how much Liza thinks it was her fault that they had. "P.S your mutt went that way" I told Carlos pointing to the left.
Lizzie's POV
We had left Auradon Prep and followed Evie and Mal through the vast land of Auradon and through the forest finally coming up on a cottage and my eyes widened seeing the 'Evie's 4 Hearts' sign since it was definitely an upgrade from the decrepit Castle Across the Way, she really stepped up in the world.
"I really hope they found Ben" Mal spoke up and I rolled my eyes since is that all she cared about, I was worried about Harry out there without me but I wasn't saying anything every five minutes about it.
"Nice digs" Uma muttered looking at the cottage voicing my earlier thoughts.
"I got a really good deal" Evie smiled before we headed inside finding the Smee twins and Dizzy asleep under Audrey's spell and Dizzy looked like she was having a bad dream so Celia went over and soothed her throwing a blanket over them as we all watched with frowns since these kids have suffered enough in their lives.
"Don't worry Dizzy we can fix this and once we do they're gonna let all the kids come from the Isle...so happy dreams" Celia said and I smiled since that was the silver lining in all of this but we all turned hearing snoring from another room and us older kids moved towards the sound.
"Uh who's the dude?" Uma asked.
"Doug!" Evie exclaimed and went over to the sleeping guy on the floor. "Doug...wake up?" she shoved him. "Wake up!" I rolled my eyes.
"He's spelled" I called out before turning back to Mal. "Is she not a fast learner?"
"She's emotionally involved" Mal argued and I turned back to see her kneeling and brushing his forehead.
"Well in that case she should be able to wake him up" Uma replied and Evie looked up in confusion. "True loves kiss, works every time" Uma smiled at her.
"Well we haven't actually used the 'L' word yet" Evie argued and I rolled my eyes since you didn't have to say 'I love you' for you to be in love, hell I'd been in love with Harry for months before we finally said I love you and she's been here for two years.
"You don't need to, to know you're in love" I argued and Uma smiled over me obviously knowing I was talking about Harry since she'd known long before I had that Harry and I even thought about each other that way.
"Can we be alone?" she asked, we all nodded and left the room giving her privacy, I roamed the house before I found a kitchen and sitting on the center table was a cake and my eyes widened since it was huge and not covered in flies or dirt which is all we got on the Isle, I didn't care what it was for and cut a piece since it was already cut anyway and the instant it melted in my mouth I was in heaven.
"How wicked of you?" Uma laughed coming in, I rolled my eyes but smiled.
"You gotta try it" I told her and she grabbed a piece for herself and pretty much matched my surprise with her first bite and pretty soon both our cake pieces were gone and we were onto second with Celia having joined us.
"That was a really good idea to check Audrey's room" Mal suddenly said coming into the room, we turned to her with furrowed brows. "Now we know that we're on the right track"
"Is there an insult in there that I missed?" Uma asked her with her mouth still filled with cake and Mal smiled before scoffing.
"Just...I wanted to thank you" she said to Uma before looking at me. "Both of you" I nodded once at her since I never really had a beef with Mal until she turned her back on the Isle.
"So you and Harry?" Uma finally asked and I rolled my eyes watching at Mal sat down and got a slice of cake for herself. "You wanna tell me when that happened?"
"Right after you left" I replied blushing slightly especially when her eyes widened. "Well not technically since we almost kissed before we kidnapped Ben" Mal rolled her eyes for that reminder where Uma's eyes widened. "But then we agreed that it should never have happened only to end up kissing anyway, I denied my feelings for a little bit, we battled with them...he saved me from drowning after falling off the dock during the fight...you left then we watched the news and after that we kinda maybe...kissed again in a heated fight after he told me he couldn't be my friend anymore not when we had feelings but then..." I stopped knowing where story went and knew I couldn't continue without risk. "That's it, we've been together ever since"
"That sounds-"
"Overly complicated but it's Harry and me, what did you expect" I smirked cutting Uma off and she looked at me with eyes that told me she knew there was more but I wasn't ready to tell anyone about that time in my life, Gil and the other crew members knew a little but not as much as Harry did and it was going to stay that way.
"And what's that from?" Mal suddenly asked gesturing to my neck and I frowned reaching up to touch it knowing straight away she was asking about the scar that went from one side to the other, a constant reminder of trying to kill myself just to escape my mother.
"It's...complicated" I shrugged seeing Uma give me another look probably already guessing the answer but she was smart enough not to bring it up in front of Mal. "Now I don't know who's birthday it is but I want this cake" I spoke up changing the subject and Mal smiled a little.
"So I...maybe kind of missed the boat a little bit on calling you shrimpy and not letting you guys join gang" she said looking at us and my eyes widened wondering where that even came from.
"What about the bucket of shrimp on her head?" I asked smirking a little so she knew I was kidding since maybe this new Mal wasn't so bad and I guess I couldn't really hold what she did on the Isle over her head since she had the most to live up to back there under Maleficent and I knew what it was like to be in your mothers shadow and under their control.
"I'm sorry about that too" Mal nodded at Uma.
"Yeah...we really couldve tore up the Isle like we used to" Uma smiled back at her, Mal smirked pulling frosting off her cake and ate it agreeing with us but then a plank of wood slammed against the door ruining our moment and more followed surrounding the entire house and covering every window and door making my eyes widen.
"Celia!" Uma called out for the youngest of us as more pieces of wood covered the windows and I was looking around feeling like I was back in my room, with my boarded window and locked doors.
"We're trapped!" Celia yelled back from somewhere but I couldn't see anything, my vision was clouded with flash backs of those times...the beatings...my mother.
"Are you guys okay?" Evie asked coming in with Doug behind her. "What's going on?" I shook my head trying to fight through it, my breaths were coming out in short bursts. "Lizzie" my eyes looked up but I wasn't seeing anything. "Are you okay?" I shook my head and started pulling at my hair.
"I...please...I can't...I can't be in here...let me out!" I screamed feeling arms wrap around me but they weren't comforting...they weren't Harry's. "Mother please...please just let me out"
"Lizzie what are you talking about?" I heard Uma ask but I shook my head feeling the tears rolling down my face.
"Get me out of here" I sobbed digging my nails into my own arms forcing my eyes shut trying to force the images out of my head with memories of Harry.
"I've never seen her like this" I heard someone say, my mind too focused on my task to worry about who it was.
"It has to be Audrey" another added.
"...'You've caused my friends pain and fear, we've had enough now disappear!'..." I heard a spell get called out but nothing happened. "You guys I'm sorry, my spells arent working Audrey's magic is getting stronger"
"...'You've caused my friends pain and fear, we've had enough now disappear!..." this time it was two voices calling it out and I heard wood hitting the ground making me open my eyes and saw light coming through the window and doors again.
"You did it" Evie said looking at both Uma and Mal meaning they must have been behind the spell...I frowned looking around at the room settling my breathing...trying to at least as I felt a bit lightheaded.
"I guess my shell likes you" Uma replied nodding at Mal before she reached into her jacket and I saw her pull out Hades ember. "Why don't you hold onto that" she said as she handed it to Mal and they fist bumped. "Lizzie?" I heard and looked up again seeing Uma and everyone else giving me worried looks while Celia moved to the door to look out. "Are you okay what happened?" she asked and I frowned knowing I couldn't lie about it now.
"Hey" Celia called causing a moments distraction and we all looked up at her as she smiled towards us. "It's your baes" she sang and my eyes widened with the knowledge that Harry was back ignoring Celia calling him my bae and ran out with Mal seeing them walking towards the cottage.
"Harry!" I yelled and collided against him wrapping my arms around his neck and he immediately had his arms around me too, a hand resting on the back of my head holding me to him.
"Are yeh okay?" he asked and all I could do is nod my head before he cupped my cheeks and looked at me with a frown no doubt seeing the tear stains. "Liza..."
"I'm okay now" I nodded at him but he didn't change his expression so I stepped away and hugged Gil leaving Uma and him to greet frowning slightly when I saw them share looks at each other and me and I knew I couldn't hide it now, I'd had an episode in front of them and Harry knew it just by looking at me.
"I always knew you two would be part of the solution" I heard Ben say and turned seeing him smiling at Uma and I, I nodded once at him before my attention went back on Harry as he stepped up next to me taking my hand and I frowned at his look of concern.
"What is this?" Mal asked brushing the beard on Ben's face. "I could get used to this"
"What about those?" Uma asked walking up and gestured to her own mouth before putting at Ben and he showed her that he had fangs on his upper canines.
"No" Mal said shaking her head and I laughed a little.
"I like them" Ben argued and they laughed.
"Okay so we all think that Audrey could be at Fairy Cottage, we have no idea where that is did she ever take you there?" Mal asked Ben getting back to the issue at hand.
"Every Fairy Godmothers day" he replied. "Where is Fairy Godmother when you need her?"
"I wish I knew" a girl they'd brought back with them replied and I recognized her from all the TV events, she was Fairy Godmothers daughter.
"Hey um...this might be a bad time but..." Carlos said walking up to her taking a seat before he handed her a small square gift box. "Happy Birthday, I made it with my 3D printer" she opened it and pulled out a small gold necklace. "It's our names put together"
"No right I get it yeah-"
"Yeah because you know were together, you and me were like a couple" he laughed almost nervously.
"Right cause Jane and Carlos make Jarlos" I raised my eye but found my hand reaching up to touch my necklace that Harry had given me a week ago, it was kind of the same thing, a heart and a hook it was us.
"Yes yeah I could've gone with Cane um...but I went with Jarlos, unless you prefer Cane" Carlos quickly said doubt clouding his judgement.
"Oh no I love it" Jane argued.
"You prefer Cane, yes you do you know what it's fine I can remake it, it's cool its fine" I rolled my eyes at Carlos freaking out about something so stupid.
"No Carlos" Jane said stopping his rant. "It's perfect" she said then turned and Carlos clipped the necklace around her neck and I felt Harry squeeze my hand making me look up at him seeing him smiling as he was having the same thought as I was about my necklace.
"Doug, go with Jane we need to find Fairy Godmother" Ben instructed getting back to business.
"They might need some muscle" Uma argued.
"Hey" Doug protested offended by that.
"Well I'll go" Gil said after looking at his muscles making me smirk.
"Yeah actually I would feel better" Carlos agreed.
"Yeah actually I'd feel better too" Evie seconded.
"Same" Mal added.
"Actually I would too" Doug finally agreed and I smiled a little.
"Alright man let's do it" Gil laughed putting his arm around Doug. "Let's go Jane" he added and the girl nodded before they walked off in one direction and we all started to head inside but I felt Harry pull on my hand before we did.
"Can we talk a second" he said making me frown knowing what he was going to ask already and we watched the others head inside first before he turned towards me. "What happened, yeh were shaking like a leaf when I got here?"
"It was nothing" I argued looking up at him. "I'm okay, it was just a minor...panic attack" I cupped his cheeks when he continued to frown. "I got a little claustrophobic but I'm okay Harry"
"Yeh not okay Liza, this keeps happening and it's not good, you have to tell me what's going on with you?"
"I'd actually like to know that myself" Uma stated surprising us. "Somethings going on and don't tell me it's nothing or that it's complicated" I looked down at my feet before I sighed looking back up sharing a look with Harry before I finally came clean and told her everything with Harry holding my hand in support as I explained to Uma everything that had happened since she was gone from the stuff with my mother, to being held captive and beaten again, transferring schools, escaping with Harry and the crew that day, to standing up against my mother and my act of suicide which she scolded me for stating it was stupid which I already knew and came clean to both of them about my nightmares.
"It's the same red hallway every time, there's a door that leads to a maze of red painted roses and I come across myself dressed like my mother, she tortures me, tells me that I'm like my mother and by the end of my dream it comes true and I witness..." I paused taking a deep breath. "I see all of you headless at my feet and a mirror showing my pleased face as I stare down at it" Harry squeezed my hand tighter.
"First of all that'll never happen" Uma argued making me look up. "Your nothing like your mother Liz, you've never even come close to being like her"
"You don't know that Uma, I tried to cut off my own head" I argued shaking my head and I saw her eyes fall to my neck putting two and two together. "Which means I'm capable of it"
"No your not otherwise you would have cut off Ace's head and we both know he deserves it for doing your mothers dirty work all these years" I frowned since that had been true, I hadn't been able to bring myself to kill Ace that day but that was because of something entirely different.
"Only because growing up he was the closest thing I ever had to a father despite all the bad things he'd ordered her goons to do to me" I argued with her again and felt Harry tense beside me, Uma and I both noticed this and turned towards him as he avoided our eyes which we both knew he does when he's trying to hide something. "Harry" I pressed and he let out a puff of air before he turned towards me.
"I...I didn't want to be the one to tell you"
"Tell me what?" I demanded but by what we were just talking about I think I knew...I think I've always known to be honest but what I didn't know was how he knew.
"Yeh remember that day I climbed to yeh window" he said and I nodded my head. "Well the next day I came back" my eyes widened since I hadn't known that and I got worried thinking Ace had done something to him since I knew he had found out he'd been there but he never said anything. "He caught me"
"Why didn't you say anything before?" I asked glaring at him.
"Because I didn't want to cause you anymore pain, when he told me what happened after I visited yer I was furious and tried to attack him but you'd be surprised how well the guy can fight" I rolled my eyes at him. "He told me that he was doing everything he could to protect you which of course angered me more since I didn't believe it but he then went on to tell me to wait for a better opportunity to get you out" I furrowed by brows since that didn't make any sense. "I asked him why he was telling me this since we all know he's never helped you before and he just smirked and told me that he was your father"
"I can't believe you kept this from me!" I exclaimed getting up out of the chair and glared looking down at Harry.
"Liza-" he reached out for me but I stepped out of the way.
"No" I shook my head since I didn't want to hear his excuses, I had a right to know. "You should have told me Hook" his eyes widened when I called him Hook in a tone of anger as I usually only called him Hook when we were joking around or when I was extremely mad at him like I am now and he knows that.
"Lizzie calm down" Uma cut in standing up. "What Harry did was idiotic but he did it with the best intentions, after everything you've been though would this news really have changed how you feel right now"
"It doesn't matter how I feel, I have a right to know that Ace told you that he was my father because then...maybe I actually would have killed him" I spat at them before I turned and ran off hearing them calling out my name but I didn't care, I couldn't look at them right now especially Harry.
A/N: Mic drop...lol not really since it was pretty obvious but now you know who Lizzie's father is and trust me there is more drama to come of this yet...dun...dun...dun...
