Lizzie's POV
I remained close by the cottage so that when they all decided to leave I would know and when night fell I saw them all come out having undoubtedly decided that night time was the best time to strike at this Audrey since she wouldn't see us coming and when I approached them Harry's eyes met mine and started to walk towards me but I shook my head at him and went over to Uma instead as we started following Ben who was leading the way to this Fairy Cottage and I saw his frown but I didn't care.
"You can't hate him Liz" Uma spoke up as we walked clearly having seen the interaction.
"Yeah actually I can" I spat back crossing my arms. "Why are you taking his side?" I asked her since she's always been on my side.
"I'm not on anyone's side, your both my friends which I why I get to tell you that you're both idiots, him for keeping it from you and you for holding this big of a grudge over it" I rolled my eyes glaring at her since that wasn't what I needed right now. "He kept it because he cares about you and you weren't ready to hear it and you know that" she moved on ahead leaving me to trail behind feeling Harry's close proximity as he was walking directly behind me staring at my head but I wasn't forgiving him that easy because as far as I knew we didn't keep secrets from each other.
When we finally made it to Fairy Cottage we took cover and crept forward using the trees and bushes to hide as we got closer and closer to the cottage before Ben barged in but Audrey wasn't here and Jay ran upstairs to check there but came down stating she wasn't here and before any of us could question where she could be next we heard knocks coming from a door so Ben went over and opened it revealing some guy sitting crouched on the floor hugging his knees and rocking himself back and forth.
"Chad?" Ben asked as the guy looked at us.
"I want my mommy" I sniggered since is he serious, Ben reached for him but he flinched back. "No!"
"It's okay" Ben soothed him and helped the guy...Chad to his feet. "What happened buddy?" he asked and Chad just looked out of the closet at all of us.
"Ben...Ben!" he exclaimed after turning to Ben as if seeing him for the first time and grabbed his jacket pulling him in close. "Your face" he stroked Ben's beard and I smiled a little. "She's gone huh?" he asked turning to us. "The door is open, I'm free!" he exclaimed before taking off. "Freedom!" he yelled as he ran and I couldn't help it I burst out into laughter at the same time that Harry had which of course made us both stop at the unintentional sync that we had and we shared a look before we all started to leave since it was clear Audrey wasn't here.
"Liza" Harry called following behind me but I ignored him. "Ilizabeth!" he said more forcibly and I frowned turning to glare at him. "Are yeh going to keep ignoring me"
"Maybe" I spat crossing my arms. "Right now I just need you to leave me alone Harry" I told him before I continued to follow the others heading back into the woods.
"Ooh alright let's get this Audrey chick taken care of already" Uma breathed out as we walked away from Fairy Cottage and they all laughed agreeing. "What do you say girls, time to wrap things up?" she added with her and Mal fist bumping again.
"You know someday you're gonna have to tell me how you guys all got teamed up?" Ben asked as I fell into step with Uma, her giving me a look but I wasn't in the mood for her switzerland behavior right now.
"Actually Mal promised to let all the kids off the Isle once this is over" Evie said smiling at us and smiled since that had been the one promising thing of today's events.
"Mal?" Ben asked turning to her.
"I have to tell you guys something" Mal suddenly spoke up and turned in front of us. "Um...I lied to you" she said and my eyes narrowed since what the hell did that mean. "The kids won't be coming off the Isle"
"What do you mean?" Jay asked her clearly not in the loop on this.
"The program is shut down and the barrier will be closed for good" Mal explained and my eyes widened in shock.
"For Auradon's safety" Ben added and my surprise quickly turned to anger since it might be safer for them but what about the countless of people that suffered the Isle every day, what about the ones that have never been safe a day in their life, I heard Harry chuckle behind me since he also knew how much of a double standard that was since it was just proved that they really couldn't give a damn about the people that lived on that godforsaken island.
"Hold up..." Uma cut in walking towards Mal. "So were saving your precious people and your behinds for a lie" she added and I walked up as well.
"We should have known it was a mistake to trust you" I added glaring harder at her. "You're always out of yourself"
"And you King Benny..." Harry spat behind us. "You're probably just gonna throw us all back inside" he deadpanned making me frown scared by that though but to be honest I think I'd rather be on the Isle since at least we knew what we were getting and we weren't being lied to.
"You know what?" Celica spoke up walking towards Mal. "I actually thought you were brave, you're nothing but a chicken" she told her voice breaking with tears. "Too scared to tell me I was never gonna see my dad again"
"Celica...'' Mal began but Celica didn't want to hear it and grabbed the ember out of Mal's hand and threw it into the bird bath as Mal protested not even caring about Celia's words or that she ran off.
"Celia" I called running forward a little as she disappeared.
"...'Regain your might and ignite!'..." Mal chanted trying to relight it. "No...'Regain your might and ignite!..." she looked up at Uma who held up her shell which wasn't glowing.
"Bummer" Uma spat at her. "Let's go find Gil and leave them all to rot" she added towards me and Harry before she walked away with Harry and I following her since they deserved everything they got and we'd been on the wrong side of this.
"Uma!" Mal called out after us but we all ignored her finding our way back towards Auradon's center walking past the castle where I found myself locked in my thoughts thinking about everything that was waiting for us back on the Isle since there was no way that we were staying here and being like those traitors, we couldn't leave the Isle defenseless after the news of this reached them that was again there wasn't any hope for us and that we were being left to rot and starve was again.
And what's worse I was going back to the same island as my psychotic mother and even worse than that I was going back to where Ace lifted and I knew the moment I saw him that I wasn't going to hold back, he deserved to suffer as I had while he had sat back letting all those things happen to me while he had done nothing!
"Uma!" we heard Mal yell as she came running up behind us but we kept walking pretending we didn't hear her. "Uma stop, please stop I need you help!" she cut in front of us forcing us to stop but Uma tried stepping aside only to get blocked by Mal. "We have a chance if we do this together"
"Your friends kick you to the curb?" Uma asked her. "Good"
"Ben saw something in you and today Uma, I saw it too" Mal replied and I scoffed she was only saying this because she needed Uma's help. "You care Uma, you care about everybody and Auradon is worth saving"
"For you maybe" I scoffed in her face.
"Help us please" she went on ignoring me but we just stared at her.
"You talk pretty but she's already made up her mind" Harry cut in glaring at Mal.
"You brought this on yourself Mal, you figure out how to fix it" I argued glaring at her. "Let's go" I told Uma and Harry before we walked away again since this wasn't our fight but unfortunately we didn't get far since we heard Celia's scream and the unmistakable roar of a dragon that could only be Mal and found ourselves running back nearly getting taken out by her tail seeing her trying to relight the ember with her flame but it wasn't working.
"She doesn't stand a chance without the ember" Uma said to us.
"Help me Mal!" we heard Celia yell from the top of the castle before a bolt of pink electricity hit Mal in the wing and she came spiraling down to the ground.
"Come on!" Uma told us and started running to where Mal had stopped only a few meters from the ground. "We're stronger together!" Uma called up to her holding onto her shell which was glowing gold signalling it's power and will to help. "We're stronger together, I'm right here Mal!...'Regain your might and ignite!'..." Uma called out the spell and I frowned seeing it hadn't worked and my hand instinctively grabbed Harry's arm in anxiousness. "I'm right here girl, I'm right here...'Regain your might and ignite'..." Mal huffed a little looking like she was gonna cry before she held out the ember and it glowed bright blue once again.
"Yes!" we called out both Harry and I steading Uma as he stumbled a little from the force of magic she'd used as we laughed watching Mal fly up and used the ember when the purple sparks came from the rooftop and met it with the power of the ember's fire. "Get her Mal!" I yelled watching as the streak of blue fire begun overpowering the purple sparks before their was a blast and it was over with Mal wining.
"Yeah, come on!" Harry exclaimed throwing his hook to the ground and I laughed jumping into his arms and he spun me around before dropping me back to our feet and we hugged Uma as well since she'd actually won.
I continued to smile until I met Harry's eyes and frowned quickly stepping away from him since I'd forgotten that I was supposed to be mad at him and got caught up in the celebration and he frowned back at me before Uma groaned rolling her eyes.
"Can you two please just kiss and make up, your both stupid for your part in this fight but I think your being even stupider for carrying on like this" I frowned glaring at Uma before I felt Harry's hand take mine.
"I'm sorry Liza, I never wanted to hurt yeh by keeping that secret but I was already worried about yeh after the nightmares started and I didn't want to cause yeh anymore pain knowing that he'd stood by and let you suffer at the hands of yer mother yer whole life" I frowned but sighed.
"I guess I'm sorry too for snapping like that, it's not your fault that I'm so broken-"
"Yeh not broken" he smiled cupping my cheek with his hand. "And if yeh are then so what because we're all a little broken but together we're fixable and I love yeh" I rolled my eyes at the cheesy line but smiled regardless.
"You're so corny" I laughed before grabbing his shirt and pulled him towards me smashing our lips together.
"Okay, I'm happy that you guys are no longer being stupid but please don't make out in front of me" Uma whined making us pull apart with smiles before Mal came out, a not so celebratory look on her face and I knew straight away that something was wrong.
"We have to find the Fairy Godmother" she said with Celia beside her, an equal sour look on her face.
"What's wrong?" I asked furrowing my brows in confusion.
"It's Audrey, she's unconscious" she replied and we all shared a look knowing that wasn't good.
