Wendy soon went back into the woods to the front door of the cottage. She then opened it, stepped inside, and closed it behind her as she looked around on her way inside. "Aunt Gerti! Aunt Gabbi! Aunt Fanny!" she then called out on her way inside the cottage.
Soon, the three adult women popped their heads out of one door to see that the blonde girl had returned.
"I'm home!" Wendy said as she stepped inside.
"You made it back home... Good," Aunt Gerti said in a bit of relief before she covered up her emotions. "Uh, good. We need to get dinner served. We'll assume you haven't eaten while you were out."
"No, not really." Wendy shook her head.
"Typical child and always getting hungry..." Aunt Gerti rolled her eyes. "What about us? What about our needs?"
"I'm sorry, Auntie." Wendy said softly.
"Well, you made it back before it got dark," Aunt Fanny said as she looked out the window. "Are you hungry then, dearie?"
"Yes, I am..." Wendy nodded. "May I eat dinner with you, please?"
"Of course, dear," Aunt Gabbi nodded. "We made some snake and spider stew."
"Ooh... Lucky me..." Wendy smiled as she soon went to join her aunts at the dinner table.
The aunts smiled back a bit as they went to dish out the stew so that their niece could eat with them. Wendy gave a small smile at her guardians and soon got comfortable. Today ended up being a pretty good day since she made some new friends and she hoped to see Audrey, Lotta, and Dot and the others on the Harvey Street Block again real soon. After eating dinner, the family was soon stuffed and they leaned back in their seats.
"Oh... That's very good snake and spider stew..." Wendy smiled as she patted her stomach.
"Good thing you made it home in time or there wouldn't have been any left!" Aunt Gerti cackled. "...Seriously. We would've eaten without you."
"I know..." Wendy said softly as she knew how her guardians could be with her.
"So did you enjoy your day out?" Aunt Gabbi asked.
"Oh, most certainly, Aunt Gabbi," Wendy nodded. "Please can I see my new friends again? Please? Please... Please, can I?" she then pleaded.
"Well..." The three aunts looked at each other, deep in thought over that question.
"Please? I'll never ask you guys for anything ever again!" Wendy pleaded.
"Oh, of course you will," Aunt Gabbi replied. "You're only a child after all."
Wendy pouted, fearing that her guardians would say no to her question.
"Well... Okay, Wendy poo, you can go out and see these new friends of yours again." Aunt Gerti soon said with a smirk.
Wendy soon suddenly began to cry. "WHY?! I knew it!" she then said, depressed and defeated until she realized what was just said to her. "What did you say?~" she then asked hopefully.
"You can see these friends of yours again," Aunt Gerti repeated herself. "Don't make me repeat myself." she then added firmly.
"Oh, thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" Wendy beamed and suddenly hugged her aunts which disgusted them suddenly.
"It's getting late... You should head to bed," Aunt Gerti then said while the other two aunts looked a bit shocked and concerned. "You don't want to be too sleepy to see your friends again tomorrow, do you?"
"Oh, no! I don't..." Wendy shook her head. "Oh, but what about the dishes? I usually have to clean up all over the place before I go to bed." she then said softly.
"Well, this time, you can skip it tonight so you can see your friends tomorrow," Aunt Gerti soon said as Wendy got out of her seat. "And you can keep on seeing them... As long as you're back inside before it gets dark outside."
"Oh, yes, Aunt Gerti! I won't let you down." Wendy then said on her way to her room.
"And if you can get all of your chores done before you leave for the day." Aunt Gerti then added.
"Yes, Auntie... I won't let you down! Good night!" Wendy said, sounding very excited before she rushed off to go and get ready for bed.
Aunt Gabbi and Aunt Fanny suddenly looked concerned at what their sister decided for their niece.
"Gerti, do you know what you just did?" Aunt Gabbi asked.
"And do you know what you just said?" Aunt Fanny added.
"Of course... I said if..." Aunt Gerti reminded with a wicked smirk.
"Ohh... If..." Aunt Gabbi said before smirking back.
"If is good." Aunt Fanny added.
"And it will be Halloween soon and Wendy poo will have forgotten all about those meddling mortals in the first place," Aunt Gerti soon told them. "Especially for our big plans on Halloween night and we will succeed where The Sanderson Sisters failed."
"Oh... How absolutely wicked~" Aunt Gabbi and Aunt Fanny beamed.
"Of course, my sisters," Aunt Gerti nodded. "Nobody knows how to be wicked other than the three of us."
"Except for The Wicked Witch of the-" Aunt Fanny spoke up.
"Ah! We don't talk about that," Aunt Gerti scolded and interrupted. "Don't ruin this for us, Fanny."
"Yeah, Fanny!" Aunt Gabbi added and rolled her eyes.
Aunt Fanny pouted as she was suddenly singled out like that.
"Now... The two of you can clean up this mess since we just sent Wendy to bed," Aunt Gerti suggested. "I have other business to attend to."
"You're leaving us with the mess?!" Aunt Fanny complained.
"Who put you in charge anyway?" Aunt Gabbi added.
"I'm the oldest, smartest, and wisest, remember, you idiots?" Aunt Gerti scoffed and rolled her eyes. "You will do as I say, like when Sarah and Mary followed their sister Winifred. Those mortal brats busted them back in 1993, but that won't happen to us. This is our time! You two got that?" she then added sternly.
"Yes, Gerti..." Aunt Fanny and Aunt Gabbi sighed in defeat to their elder sister.
"That's a couple of good wicked witches," Aunt Gerti grinned as she stepped away. "Good evening, my sisters~"
"Good evening, Gerti." Aunt Fanny and Aunt Gabbi responded as their elder sister suddenly left.
"Soon... Halloween will approach and we'll be unstoppable... As long as Wendy doesn't screw up her mission..." Aunt Gerti narrowed her eyes, cackling darkly as she disappeared into the night.
The next day soon came. Cleaning up and taking care of everything in the cottage to keep up her end of the bargain with her aunts took a heck lot longer than Wendy thought it would. It would be all worth it in the end though because then if she kept doing what they asked her to, she would still be able to meet up with and hang out with her new friends. Wendy soon panted heavily, looking very worn out and exhausted, but still determined to go out for the day.
"Oh, my... You look so tired, dear~" Aunt Fanny cooed.
"Yes, so tuckered out," Aunt Gabbi added. "Are you sure you still want to go out and see your friends before it gets dark today?"
"Yes... Yes, I... Do..." Wendy answered breathlessly. "We had a deal."
"Well, I suppose she has a good point about that," Aunt Gerti soon agreed before she faced her sisters. "Come along then, my sisters... It's best we let our little Wendy out and go to explore the world like she's always wanted."
Aunt Gabbi and Aunt Fanny nodded as they stepped out of Wendy's way.
"Have fun, Wendy~" The aunts crooned as Wendy soon stepped outside for the day.
"Thank you... I hope I do too..." Wendy replied on her way out as the sun was already starting to set outside.
It took a while for Wendy to go and find her new friends, but soon, she found them along with a lot of other kids in the neighborhood gathered around down in the streets in excitement.
"Audrey, I don't say this often, but... Wow!" Dot was soon heard, sounding very excited.
"I do say wow often, but... Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow!" Lotta added in equal excitement if not more. "It's so... So..."
"Jump-alicious? Spring-a-riffic?" Audrey guessed boastfully.
"Trampoline-y." Dot clarified.
"Hey, guys..." Wendy greeted and gasped as she walked by.
"Hey, Wendy!" Lotta and Dot greeted.
"Pigtails... We were wondering when you were gonna show up," Audrey added. "We thought maybe your folks grounded you from havin' fun yesterday or somethin'."
"Yeah... Sorry... I have this deal where I have to complete and finish up my chores before going out for the day," Wendy said. "Apparently I was far behind after hanging out with you guys yesterday."
"Oh... Sorry about that," Lotta said softly. "Did we get you in trouble?"
"No... At least, I don't think so," Wendy replied. "I guess I should be glad I made it outside before it got too dark."
"That's true..." Dot nodded.
"So, what's going on today, ladies?" Wendy soon asked.
"Look for yourself." Audrey said before showing Wendy.
Wendy then looked over, hearing springs boinging and looked a bit wide-eyed at what she had found. Fru-Fru and The Bow were shown to be leaping up and down on the trampoline, having a lot of fun so far.
"It's bounce-tastic!" Lotta cheered.
"Wow... That is pretty nice..." Wendy remarked. "I've heard a lot about trampolines, but I've never actually been on one."
"You need to get out of the house more, Pigtails." Audrey muttered slightly.
"Oh, Audrey, this super trampoline is your most awesome idea yet," Lotta gushed in excitement. "Even more than the puppy massage chair."
"Indeed. It's even 17%, maybe 18% better than your cake catapult." Dot added.
"Uh, the cake-a-pult. Thanks, girls." Audrey clarified.
"Those are actual things?" Wendy asked.
"Yes, they are, and so is this," Audrey nodded. "Sure, it took us 10 hours and 30 boba breaks to assemble, but it was worth it."
"So what makes this trampoline different from other trampolines?" Wendy soon asked.
"Check it out," Audrey said, helping Wendy go on the trampoline suddenly. "You'll thank me later."
"Whoa!" Wendy gasped as she stumbled onto the trampoline and then suddenly began to bounce very high in the air as her hair went flying. "Whoa! Hey! Ha! Haha, hey! This is great!" she then laughed at the bounciness.
"Yeah! Now we have more bounce than ever!" Audrey added as Tiny went bouncing after Wendy.
"Maybe too much bounce?" Tiny suggested as he went pretty high up in the air and even touched the clouds.
"No way! There's no such thing as too much," Audrey said as she came up next. "Allow me to demonstrate."
"Wait." Dot said, suddenly stopping Audrey before she could leap.
"Is this about safety?" Audrey guessed. "I told you, Dot. I'm mostly-pretty-almost sure my head is indestructible."
"No, it's not and we only have 1.36 minutes of daylight left which means time to go home." Dot warned the other girl.
"The sun is setting? Already?!" Wendy asked. "I guess I have been doing my chores pretty much all day."
"Nighttime!" Audrey growled at her old arch-nemesis. "We meet again, my arch-jerk-stinky-face enemy."
"Well, that's pretty colorful language just about the sun going down at the end of every day." Wendy commented.
"Always sneaking up on me at the worst possible moment." Audrey continued as she narrowed her eyes.
"You're in your own little world, aren't you?" Wendy then asked Audrey.
"Let's just say nighttime and I have a history with each other... A deep, dark history," Audrey snarled with her hands on her hips. "The beach baseball game, the giant water slide I created, and the bat attack during our cotton candy social."
"Whoa..." Wendy muttered with wide eyes.
"To be fair, the bats were only because our giant cotton candy machine displaced their home and we took care of it." Dot spoke up.
"Now they live in my closet." The Bow added in a creepy voice.
"I think you and I will get along just fine, Bow." Wendy remarked.
"I dunno... You might be a little too weird for me..." The Bow said before sliding away mysteriously.
"...I don't know what to make of her sometimes." Wendy commented.
"None of us do." Dot replied.
"Still, nighttime is always cutting in before we get to enjoy my awesome ideas." Audrey soon continued her little rant.
Soon suddenly, the moon was out which told all of the Harvey Street Kid one thing.
"Oh, Hex..." Wendy pouted in defeat.
"I'm sick of it." Audrey grumbled.
"I kinda like nighttime," Lotta spoke up with a smile. "It's like the bad boy you can count on. 'Hey, Lotta. I'm mysterious, but I'll always be here for you'."
"Uh... Okay then..." Wendy blinked.
"Plus, growing girls need their sleep," Lotta soon added. "We can just pick up where we left off tomorrow."
"Yeah, Audrey. There's always tomorrow." Wendy said.
"No! Because tomorrow, I'll have a new awesome idea storm!" Audrey retorted and defended in annoyance. "It's time we showed nighttime it's not the boss of Harvey Street!"
All of the other kids soon began to cheer at Audrey's proclamation.
"Audrey, I'm totally on board, but how?" Dot piped up. "It's impossible to stop the Earth's rotation on its axis."
"But what if it wasn't?" Audrey retorted.
All of the other kids continued to cheer for Audrey.
"...Audrey?" Wendy spoke then.
"...Okay, it is," Audrey then admitted defeat before looking determined again. "But I have an idea!"
"So, we're picking this up again tomorrow?" Wendy guessed.
"No, Pigtails. We're just getting started." Audrey countered before she soon gathered Lotta, Dot, and Wendy around and began to whisper her plan.
"Well, I hope that my aunties don't kill me for this." Wendy whispered to herself in concern.
And soon, after the plan was discussed, the four girls sprung into action. The plan involved gathering lamps, power strips, and plenty of extension cords to go around. There were even lanterns involved as well as Christmas lights despite it being summertime right now.
"Come on, Pinkeye. It's June." Audrey reminded the boy as she took his favorite lights away.
Soon, the girls gathered around and seemed to have every light that they could possibly have.
"Okay. I think we're good to go." Wendy soon said.
"Agreed," Audrey nodded as she got the plugs ready. "Harvey Street! Nighttime has officially... CANCELLED!" she then announced, plugging in the lights to make it look like daytime on Harvey Street.
The kids flinched from the bright lights, but they were still excited nonetheless. Pinkeye even needed sunglasses, Lucretia wore sunscreen, and The Bow even attempted to roast a marshmallow.
"We are now clear for endless fun!" Audrey added before she soon hopped on her trampoline out of victory.
And so, due to the cancellation of nighttime on Harvey Street, the kids resumed playtime while avoiding curfew. Wendy was having fun with her new friends, but also felt worried because she had a sinking feeling that her aunts would know that it still wasn't actually daytime even though she promised to be back inside before nightfall. Audrey blew up a beach ball and soon tossed it out to Lotta who then batted it and deflated it, sending it flying.
"Wow... That's kinda cool." Wendy laughed at what happened to the beach ball.
"Ever go on a water slide before, Pigtails?" Audrey soon asked.
"No, I don't think so." Wendy replied.
"Prepare to never say that again!" Audrey then proclaimed.
Wendy looked curious, but hopeful before she soon had on a swimsuit and waited beside Audrey while Lotta, Pinkeye, and Tiny while Audrey went up to the top of a huge water slide. Once the water slide was finished, Audrey slid right down it with Wendy behind her, both girls laughing and having fun. They missed the pool at the bottom, but they suddenly slid out and crashed right into a tree.
"Ow..." Wendy said before laughing. "That was fun too!"
"Totally!" Audrey agreed.
And then, it was time to have a cotton candy social as Lotta made a rather large serving and put it on Audrey's cake-a-pult which Dot then launched, allowing Audrey to catch the cotton candy in her mouth as she splattered on the target with it, having the best time of her life.
"That's neat!" Wendy said as she explored while Fru-Fru and Lucretia sat in a couple of puppy massage chairs. "Hey, whatcha guys doin'?" she then asked the other two girls.
"Exploring the wonders of late-night television." Lucretia replied as they had a TV turned on for their entertainment.
"Ooh." Wendy said before she looked at the TV with the other two girls.
"All the comfort of a blanket all in the style of a grandma's nightie!" A man on the TV soon announced which seemed to grab Fru-Fru's attention right away. "Why wait? Call 1-800-SLEEP NOW!"
"Ugh! Those are the ugliest things." Fru-Fru complained.
"I dunno... They look pretty cozy." Wendy remarked.
"Shows what you know!" Fru-Fru scoffed before she turned away and brought out her cell phone, speaking in a hushed voice. "Hello, I'd like to order 100 SnugJamas. What am I doing? ...Make that 200, rush shipping."
Wendy rolled her eyes slightly, not sure what to make of that before she then walked off and went to go see what Audrey, Lotta, and Dot were doing. "Hey, guys." she then said.
"Hey, Wendy," Dot smiled. "Having fun?"
"Yeah! Lots of fun!" Wendy nodded. "This is probably the best night of my life."
"Oh, good~" Lotta smiled as she rolled out her sleeping bag. "Well, all things have to come to an end eventually."
"What?" Wendy frowned. "Are you guys going to bed already?"
"Don't worry, they're only power naps," Dot replied. "They'll be very good for our growing brains."
"Make that a disco nap," Lotta countered. "Maybe you'd like to try it out with us."
"Well, I guess it's been a long day for all of us," Wendy agreed. "Mind if I borrow a spare sleeping bag?"
"No problem." Lotta and Dot said before bringing out a spare sleeping bag just for Wendy since she was new and all.
Wendy smiled, taking the sleeping bag which was ordinary and plain compared to theirs, but she would probably get her very own later on for future adventures with her fellow Harvey Street Kids.
"There, now get all cozy and I'll tell you more about power naps." Dot smiled at their new friend.
"Thanks, Dot." Wendy smiled back.
Suddenly, Audrey came right into the trailer, busting the door open. "There you are! With nighttime turned into bright time, you girls won't believe how many things I'm tackling on my-" she then began to announce only to stop to see what Dot, Wendy, and Lotta were doing.
"You have an idea that involves sleeping bags, Audrey?" Wendy soon asked.
"No, I don't!" Audrey shook her head.
"These are for power naps," Dot explained to Audrey as she brought out a book. "Leonardo da Vinci took them six times a day to increase brain productivity."
"That's a lot of naps in just one day." Wendy remarked.
"Eh, Leonardo da Vinci recommends a lot of things." Audrey replied, ignoring Dot's advice.
"Sure, but to help stay awake, Wendy, Dot, and I are gonna take a disco nap," Lotta stated. "It's like a regular nap, but funky-fresh. Wanna join?" she then invited the brunette girl.
"A nap?" Audrey asked before scoffing and laughing at that idea.
"Should I take that as a no?" Dot guessed.
"Yeah, I'll sleep when all my awesomeness-ing is done," Audrey said as she began to step out. "You want in on this, Pigtails?" she then asked Wendy.
"Well... I guess I could stay awake just a little bit longer..." Wendy soon said thoughtfully before shrugging. "If that's okay with you guys." she then added to Dot and Lotta.
"You can go ahead if you want, Wendy," Dot replied. "Lotta and I will just catch up on some rest."
"Well... All right..." Wendy said as she decided to join the other girl. "Okay, Audrey. Show me some more nighttime fun. I'll take a disco power nap later."
"That's what I'm talkin' about!" Audrey laughed in victory. "Come with me into a brand new life of adventure, Pigtails!"
"I'll see you guys later, okay?" Wendy soon said to Dot and Lotta.
"Okay, Wendy. See ya later." Dot nodded.
Wendy smiled and soon stepped out of the trailer along with Audrey to continue having more nighttime adventures.
"Welp, disco dreams here we come!" Lotta soon announced before clapping her hands to turn out the light and turn on the disco ball with smooth disco music so that she and Dot could get some sleep.
Soon, Audrey took the other kids in the neighborhood and held out a giant clock. "Harvey Street-iacs, check it out!" showing the clock, but it was upside down so the time looked a little funny.
"What's an 'oogsll'?" Fredo spoke up out of confusion.
"Oh. Audrey? You got the clock upside down." Wendy soon pointed out.
Audrey looked up to see that, then turned the clock right side up to show the time was actually 11:58 PM. "It's almost midnight!" she then told the other kids.
"Whoa! No kid on Harvey Street has ever stayed up past midnight!" Tiny gasped in astonishment.
"I did once!" Lucretia piped up. "I went to the Harvey Girls' place and we braided each other's hair and I had the body of a sea lion."
"Uh, Lucretia? I think that was just a dream you had." Wendy spoke up.
"Oh, wait. She's right." Lucretia then realized.
"Here we go, block partiers!" Audrey then said as it was a minute to midnight now.
"Wow... Staying up past midnight... I wonder if this is what it's like to be Cinderella?" Wendy wondered to herself.
And so, the Harvey Street Kids began to count down from 10 since it was about to be the golden hour of their lives. Lotta and Dot even arrived to the scene to join in on the countdown.
"Midnight! Take that, nighty-night!" Audrey laughed in victory before throwing down the clock. "Oh, boba."
"So this is boba?" Wendy asked, seeing Lotta and Dot with drinks.
"Sure thing!" Dot nodded, giving Wendy an extra drink. "Help yourself."
Wendy smiled as she sat down with Audrey, Lotta, and Dot to join in on the fun.
"And cheers to you, Audrey," Dot soon told the blonde girl. "You changed the rules of time and space without destroying the universe."
"And we get to stay up late!" Lotta added. "Yay!"
"I gotta say, this was very nice," Wendy said. "Nothing can stop us now."
Suddenly, as she said that, there was a fierce roar in the air, startling the Harvey Street Kids instantly. However, it ended up coming from Tiny and he was actually just yawning.
"Uh... What is wrong with him?" Audrey asked out of concern.
"Yeah, he sounds like a zombie Godzilla." Wendy added.
"What's wrong with everyone?" Lotta soon asked.
The Harvey Street Kids all soon looked like zombies and had heavy bags under their eyes, even trying to attack each other.
"Seems like everyone's getting tired," Dot noted before she called out to the others. "Maybe it's time to call it a night?" she then suggested.
The other Harvey Street Kids looked over and lunged out to attack the main four suddenly.
"Rage. Rage. Rage." The Bow droned dully.
"C'mon, Pigtails!" Audrey said, taking the girl's hand and running with her.
Soon, Audrey, Dot, Lotta, and Wendy hid inside the trailer to avoid the other suddenly sleep-deprived kids in the neighborhood. They made sure to lock the door so that they would be protected.
"This is even more of a bummer than nighttime," Audrey sighed. "How are we gonna finish my list with everyone acting crazy?"
"Your list?" Wendy asked.
"We still got the reverse limbo, the great pudding drop, the monster scream-a-thon..." Audrey soon listed.
"I guess you'll just have to-" Wendy began to say only to hear roaring inside the trailer which worried her instantly. "What the?!"
Lotta and Dot looked over before Dot turned around and screamed out, seeing that Tiny was on her back and trying to gnaw on her hair.
"Forget ruining our fun, this is ruining our friends!" Dot soon alerted as she took note of how Tiny appeared before she took a teddy bear before writing on a chalkboard. "Droopy eyes, drooling, and an awful temper. Lack of sleep + over-stimulation + constant daylight has pushed them past simply being merely tired and into a Level 10 uber-sleepy situation."
Tiny soon snarled, grabbing the teddy bear before ripping it into pieces, startling the girls instantly.
"Yikes. Glad we took disco naps." Lotta said before fist bumping with Dot.
"Uh-oh... I didn't take a nap..." Wendy whispered to herself in concern.
"Yeah! Also glad some of us don't need naps!" Audrey said as she grabbed Wendy in her arm before looking a little crazy.
Wendy frowned, looking a bit worried about Audrey right now. "...Uh, Audrey-" she then spoke up slightly.
"What? I'm not being weird, you're being weird. New topic!" Audrey soon rambled due to her lack of sleep.
"...Dot? Please tell me you have a plan." Wendy begged since the other girl was very intelligent for her age.
"Hmm... I might have something," Dot thought about it before she opened the curtains to see the other kids in Harvey Street. "We need to cut the lights so that they'll go to sleep, but to pull the plug, we have to get there and I'd say we have an 87% chance of being mauled by Lucretia first."
"Yikes!" Audrey winced. "That's even higher than the chances of her mauling us normally."
"Oh, come on, you guys... Lucretia's a bit odd, but she's very sweet," Wendy retorted. "I don't think that she'd actually-AAAUGH!" she then suddenly shrieked.
Lucretia suddenly splatted right onto the window and gnawed at the glass, looking like a dangerous animal of the forest.
"Maybe we're safer here with the Tine-ster, huh?" Lotta suggested as she closed the curtains and gave Wendy a hug to help comfort her.
Wendy looked over from Lotta's hug. "Thanks for the hug, Lotta, but I hate to tell you guys this, but I think that Tiny left." she then spoke up.
Dot looked down on the floor to see a wet substance of some sort before the girls all looked up with a gasp. Tiny snarling and drooling from the disco ball on the ceiling, looking worse than when the others had found him. Lotta soon hugged all of Audrey, Wendy, and Dot to keep them safe as Tiny was really scary right now.
"Now what?!" Wendy cried out.
"Don't worry. I have an idea," Audrey reassured before she took out a piece of paper and a pencil to jot down her idea. "Ice cream cones made out of potato chips."
"Audrey..." Wendy groaned and narrowed her eyes along with Dot who shared the same feeling right now.
"Oh! And I have an idea for how to fix this too," Audrey soon added. "Pigtails. I saw you talking to Fru-Fru earlier. What did she want?" she then demanded.
"Fru-Fru?" Wendy asked before trying to remember. "Oh, she's that girl who's rich, right?"
"Yep... Fru-Fru is the resident rich kid of Harvey Street." Lotta nodded.
"Well, she was ordering something called SnugJamas," Wendy explained. "But I'm not sure how that's supposed to-"
"No doubt she put them on speed delivery," Audrey said to herself before speaking up. "All right. Let's take a shortcut."
"Shortcut!" Lotta soon cheered.
"Shortcut?" Wendy asked out of confusion.
Soon, the girls left the trailer, waiting on Audrey's instructions. Eventually, a delivery truck arrived and dropped off several boxes of what Wendy had told them about from when she ran into Fru-Fru earlier in the night.
"Okay, Audrey. Take us through your plan." Dot soon said once they stood around the 200 boxes.
"You're lookin' at it!" Audrey said before opening one box as the blankets with sleeves spilled right on the sidewalk. "For once, Fru-Fru's shopping obsession is a good thing."
"Hideous!" Dot grimaced as she picked up one of the SnugJamas.
"Why would you do that to clothes?" Lotta cried out, putting her hands to her face.
"Yes, they're ugly, but they're also super comfy," Audrey defended with a chuckle. "Or... So I've heard."
Dot looked skeptical, Wendy looked curious, and Lotta just had a smile on her face.
"Okay, fine! I have a pair at home." Audrey then confessed.
"Uh... Wow..." Wendy blinked a bit before she picked one up. "I think I know what you're trying to say though, Audrey. We just gotta snatch the neighborhood kids in these things and they'll go to sleepy."
"Yes! Exactly!" Audrey nodded before smirking. "And since you figured out the plan, maybe you'd like to go over and demonstrate for us. New Kid in Town rules, ya know."
"...Seriously?" Wendy asked, unimpressed at first.
"Do I look like I'm kidding?" Audrey replied.
"Unfortunately not... I'll get right on that..." Wendy sighed as she took out one SnugJama and began to approach Lucretia who was going crazy by eating peanut butter straight out of the jar. "Heeey! Uh... Lucinda?" she then called out to her target.
"Lucretia!" Audrey, Dot, and Lotta corrected from the sidelines.
"Uh... Right..." Wendy nodded before she continued. "Uh... So how's it going, Lucretia?" she then asked before she soon started to yawn to try to make it spread as it was common knowledge that yawning was contagious. "Boy... I sure am tired... It almost makes me wanna take a nap, ya know?"
Lucretia soon snarled and rushed right over to the pigtailed girl instantly.
"Guys, HELP!" Wendy soon yelped.
Audrey then tossed a SnugJama right over to Wendy. Wendy acted quickly by catching it and then tossed it onto Lucretia before an ambush could happen. Lucretia felt confused before she landed right onto a pile of SnugJamas before rolling over and suddenly falling over into a deep sleep as Wendy sighed in relief over her own safety.
"Sweet! That actually worked." Audrey smiled out of victory.
"Wait. You didn't know it was gonna work?" Dot glanced at Audrey suspiciously.
Audrey grunted and shrugged in defense. "At least Pigtails is still alive," she then said before grinning. "Bust out your favorite lullabies, girls. It's bedtime!"
Soon, the other kids began to snarl and hiss before lunging right out for The Harvey Street Girls.
"Maybe you shouldn't have said that so loud." Wendy told Audrey.
"Leave the past in the past, Pigtails." Audrey suggested.
Wendy then shrugged and smiled hopefully as she went with Audrey, Lotta, and Dot to go and help make the other kids in the neighborhood go to sleep. It looked like pulling an all-nighter wasn't such a good idea. At least staying up after midnight at their age. Soon, one by one, the girls leaped out and began to put their fellow Harvey Street Kids into a very deep sleep. Audrey sacked The Bow and had the sleeves tied into a knot behind the creepy girl's back as Lotta and Wendy worked together to get Melvin and Fredo at once to kill two birds with one stone.
"Hey, Fru-Fru! You want some crazy expensive nail polish?" Dot soon called out as she had a trap set including "live" bait.
Fru-Fru turned around before grinning and stepping over right into the trap and was even caught in a net along with her SnugJama, suddenly going to deep sleep.
"Was a net really necessary?" Wendy asked Dot.
"Don't blame me, I voted for science," Dot replied as she gestured to a chalkboard beside her before she gasped and pointed. "Look out, Wendy!"
"Huh?" Wendy asked before turning around and suddenly yelping. "Yaugh!"
Pinkeye was suddenly right behind Wendy who was unarmed.
"Come on! We gotta help her!" Dot soon told Lotta and Audrey.
"Right!" Lotta and Audrey agreed before they rushed together with three SnugJamas each.
"Duck, Pigtails!" Audrey then cried out.
Wendy then ducked down as the other three girls leaped over the sidewalk and then tackled Pinkeye down to the ground, trapping him suddenly in the SnugJamas. "Wow... Thanks, guys..." she said in relief and deep gratitude.
"Hey, what're friends for, am I right?" Audrey replied.
Wendy looked touched as her eyes sparkled before she put her hand on her chest since Audrey viewed her as a friend.
"The plug!" Dot soon called out as she saw it. "Now let's cut the lights before they get loose."
"Yes... Let's put an end to this night." Wendy nodded as she approached the main plug.
Suddenly, a foot came right down before she could even touch it and soon, Audrey was shown to be on top of it. She had completely turned into a sleeping zombie, much to the fear of Wendy, Lotta, and Dot.
"Hey, Audrey? Hey, friend-girl? How about taking a disco nap after all?" Lotta soon suggested out of nervousness.
"Guys, I don't wanna ruin anything, but I think that Audrey is beyond saving right now." Wendy suggested as they stepped back while Audrey hopped down closer to them.
"The sleepiness, it's wresting control of her!" Dot alerted before she soon tried to snap her fingers. "Audrey! Stay with us!"
Audrey snarled before she suddenly shook her head, looking confused. "Guys? What's happening?" she then asked, starting to sound like her old self. "Oh, no... I'm becoming one of them, aren't I?"
"Well... Uh... Yes... To put it bluntly." Wendy nodded.
"So why don't you turn out the lights so you can sleep?" Dot soon suggested peacefully.
"No sleep! Stay up!" Audrey soon snarled.
Wendy, Lotta, and Dot soon shivered nervously as the remaining Harvey Street Kids began to crawl out of their SnugJama prisons and looked ready to attack at will right away.
"No! You're not the boss of me, zombie-other-me!" Audrey then announced before slapping her face. "Pigtails, Dot, Lotta, hold them back!"
"Oh, I sure hope we can." Wendy said to herself as she tried to fend off Tiny since he was coming right at her while Lotta and Dot did what they could.
"Nighttime, I'm sorry... I was wrong to defy you. Now it's time..." Audrey said as she fell to the ground and began to reach out for the plug and soon unplugged it. "Bedtime."
And at that, every night went out, making the kids realize how late it actually was as their parents would've wanted them inside hours ago despite not showing up in the slightest. Soon, every kid who saw the moon fell asleep peacefully and there was no waking them until sunrise.
"You did it!" Dot cheered on Audrey.
"Whoo-hoo-hoo-hoo!~" Lotta then hollered.
"Shh!" Wendy shushed. "People are sleeping!"
"Whoo-hoo. Good job. You guys are great." Lotta then softly cheered as she helped put her friends back down on the ground.
And soon, everybody on Harvey Street went back home to get a good night's sleep. Wendy didn't remember going home deep into the night, but she woke up and found herself back in her own bed and even tucked in for the night. She remembered feeling deathly worried about her aunts finding out she was out late and missed curfew as it scared her to death since they all agreed she would be back home before it got dark, but other than that, she slept all night long.
