Chapter 1

Riverdale High….

Arabella dressed in retro-punk shirt of UK band Sex Pistol and skinny jeans plus red running shows.

God, she felt like she was being exposed to nakedness.

Looks like everyone in town know of her supposed relationship with Mr. Gold. Arabella had years of practice ignoring and focusing on other things.

She was trained from Hydra until she was rescued by Black Widow when she was nine years. Under her tutelage, Arabella started to think for herself more.

Now, she is supposed to be a tour by a perky blonde girl.

Wow.

Arabella is pretty sure that she is in hell.

Betty came at waved at Veronica and Arabella, who internally groaned behind her innocent smile since they didn't know that Betty Cooper was taking both of them simultaneously.

They begin a tour.

Betty's leading Veronica and Arabella down a locker-lined hall.

Cooper talks to them, "So I usually start my tours with a little history and context. Riverdale High first opened its doors in 1941, and…."

Veronica was not impressed and cut out betty's speech, "and hasn't been redecorated since. Honestly, I feel like I'm wandering through the lost epilogue of "Our Town.."

Veronica chuckles. Betty is confused but follows with laughter. Arabella felt that this rich girl would have difficulty hiding her self-centered attitude.

"So what's the social scene like here? Any nightclubs?"

Kevin Keller came behind the girls, "A strip club called the Hoe Zone and a tragic gay bar called Innuendo…."

Betty, Arabella, and Veronica turn to Kevin, who gets in front of them and faces them while walking backward...

Kevin began talking as if he was talking about the weather today, "Friday nights, it's football games, then tailgate parties at the Mall-mart parking lot. Saturday night is movie night, regardless of what's playing at the Bijou - and you better get there early because we don't have reserved seating in Riverdale."

Kevin stops and puts an arm around Betty's shoulders.

"And Sunday nights? Thank God for HBO."

Betty introduced them, "Veronica Lodge, Arabella Barnes meet Kevin Keller. Veronica and Arabella are both new here, and Kevin is..."

Veronica smiled, "gay, thank God. Let's be best friends."

Arabella nodded and said, "What's up?"

"Is it true what they say about your dad?" They all paused their walks, and Veronica seemed not to like where this was going.

Betty glares at Kevin. What exactly did veronica's father do?

"That he's the devil incarnate? I stand by my father. Does everyone here know?" Oh, that father. Arabella had read his reports and must commend him for not getting caught.

'Not.' She gave a hidden smirk over Veronica's dad being tossed up the river.

Both Betty and Kevin remain silent.

She sarcastically, "Wonderful! Ten minutes in, and I'm already the "Blue Jasmine" of Riverdale High."

Veronica walks away. Betty turns to Kevin and glares at him

Kevin looks confused, "What?"

Betty moves to follow Veronica.

Betty decided to break the ice since Veronica doesn't feel like talking anymore. "So, Arabella, I hope you can enjoy Riverdale."

Arabella gave a fake concerned look.

"I know that since you never went to school…." Betty gave a positive tone, but Arabella cut her off. "Thank you, but no need."

"Wow, kitty got fire." Kevin sounded impressed with Arabella, and Betty started to walk faster in finishing the tour.

Betty said, "...and of course, there is still the back Back-to-School formal dance this weekend."

Veronica gasps and suddenly grabs Betty's arm and pulls her to show her what she's looking at. Archie lingered outside of the music room after being rejected by Josie and the Pussycats.

'Typical teenagers.'

Arabella can tell based on the expression that this Betty girl doesn't seem to want Veronica to know Andrews's character. She can pretend to be happy all she wants, but she can see what they think.

Veronica wanted info about Archie, and that info should be with Betty, "There's the hottie you were with last night. The red-headed Ansel Elgort. Is he your boyfriend?"

Kevin and Betty said simultaneously, "No, he's straight. /No, we're just friends.

Veronica smirks, "In that case, mind putting in a word? I've tried every flavor of the boy but orange..."

Arabella had to hold her gagged. My God, this girl is something else.

Kevin clarified Veronica, "actually, to clarify. Betty and Archie aren't dating, but they are endgame."

She looked at Betty, "You should ask him to the semi-formal then."

He gossiped, "She should, but I heard it might be getting canceled. Because of what happened to Jason. They're going to tell us at the Assembly..."

She looked confused, "Who's Jason, and what happened to him?"

At the Gym….

"Thank you for that moment of silence," Cheryl Blossom's voice echoed in the hall where the school had gathered. "Many of you were lucky enough to know Jason personally. Each and every one of you meant the world to Jason. I loved my brother, he is and will always be my soulmate."

Arabella looked at this in boredom.

She sneaks to play around with her phone. How boring can this get?

When a person is dead, there is no need to bring everyone into this.

Yes, cruel as it sounded. Everyone in town acts as they suffer, yet the world has suffered more than them.

Wars, starvations, government issues, and systems that don't work.

"-collectively, and celebrate my brother's too, too short life on this mortal coil. Thank you all." Cheryl finished her speech and left the stage, the students applauding as she walked away.

Arabella signs in relief.

She never thought how happy it was over.

She reads her book during lunch. So, this is what her life is being reduced. She went from a deadly assassin to spy, then hero, finally a fugitive on the run.

Boy, if only her grandfather and dad would see her now.

Though, she still has to be careful. You never know who or when they will find out who she is.

Arabella doesn't think anything else matters except that.

Archie and his music teacher, Ms. Grundy, are embracing each other.

She was stealthy about it, and none noticed that they were being watched. The red bell was three seconds away then.

Ring, ring.

The end of lunchtime. Archie and Ms. Grundy ended their tryst. Archie left, not noticing that Arabella was inside the janitor's closet.

She went out after a few students filled their hallways.

"Wow, I can't wait to hear more of this story," Arabella said to herself.

She wonders perhaps there is something who could do it.

Certainly not, Arabella Barnes.

Perhaps she should call in Rattlesnake to Riverdale.

As typical and cliché as it sounded, Edward changed sides, gave SHEILDs information, and asked for protection from HYDRA. They had conceived an unplanned pregnancy, so they quickly married as Edward W. Brooke had taken Stephanie's last name to stay out of HYDRA sights. Sadly, they died when she was only five years old during the great forest fire caused by HYDRA on purpose. They took her because of her grandfather's serum which gave her test and experiments to enhance since they failed to recreate the serum themselves. She was trained by Sergeant James Buchanan "Bucky" Barnes, aka Winter Soldier, whom everyone presumed dead during WWII. Being prepared and putting her emotions to dull made her a perfect soldier, but she is a rebel. During her mission in London, England, Winter Soldier gave her the means to escape and be captured by SHEILDS by Black Widow herself. A few years later, it took a lot of effort and patient to get her to remain calm. She met her grandfather, Steve Rogers, who is still alive. Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Thor, Black Widow, and Hawkeye gathered. She managed to help the sidelines by hacking into computers to locate Loki's machine.

The team faced incredible challenges, Loki invasion, Ultron, and other bad guys. Nothing seemed to break them apart until that day.

Sokovia Accords that Captain America disagreed with, which means defying the government to save Bucky and joining Captain's side against the accords.

They all fought and won, but the Avengers was never the same again. They broke out the rest of Captain's team to escape. She understood since she managed to hide within the small town of Riverdale while others followed the examples.

Settled down in Riverdale under identity Arabella Valentine Barnes, but some things are meant to be helped by someone from the shadows….
