Cosmo threw the blankets down on the couch and lied down, tossing and turning as he tried to figure out a comfortable position. With his baby bump up front, he struggled to shift his weight until he finally groaned, sitting up right to only the sound of Wanda snoring peacefully in the bed. Cosmo rolled his temples annoyedly, as he gave up and decided to get some water, his thoughts racing quickly around his mind like a race car track.

After all they had been through and after all they are about to go through..why couldn't she defend his honor? Cosmo remembered early on in their relationship, Blonda wouldn't have even been able to cast a single eye without Wanda hounding all over her. But now, it's like she doesn't even care. Did something happen between her and her sister, or did Wanda just not love him anymore?

After questioning what had happened earlier some more, Cosmo finally started to settle in, escaping back 20,000 years ago…

Flashback (Fairy World Diner)

"Damn, who's that over there?", Blonda pointed at the green haired waiter, scrubbing the table adjacent. "Yeesh, didn't know they served eye candy for dessert."

Wanda watched as Cosmo bent down a little further to get the top left end of the table, her face somewhat flushed. Before she could spoil herself further, she looked away quickly, feeling her face rise up.

"The hell's the matter with you?", Blonda's thick Italian accent seethed through, "Ants in your pants or something? Come on, he's cute! Why don't we call him over here? I think I finally figured out what I want to eat anyways."

"Eh..he looks kinda busy right now. Besides, we're not supposed to-"

"Ey sugar! Bring yourself over here! We're ready to order!", Blonda, being the more choleric one, called out, grabbing Cosmo's attention. She smirked as he looked her in the eye, before frantically remving himself from the table.

"Uh…just a minute.", Cosmo scrambled to grab the pen and pencil from his apron, "H-Hi I'm sorry. Has no one helped you yet?"

"Yeah. You, hot stuff. Now let's see here uh..", Blonda droned on, "Why don't you get me a salad, sweetheart? Girls like me gotta watch their figure."

"Uh...my name's not sweetheart. It's Cosmo-"

"Yeah whatever floats your boat, sweetheart. Oh, and why don't you get me a lemonade too while you're at it? Now, what're you getting?", Blonda looked over at Wanda, who studied the menu quickly.

"Guess a burgers and some fries, thanks.", Wands said shortly, before Cosmo scurried off. Wanda glared at Blonda, who pretended like nothing was wrong, "What's your problem?"

"What are you talking about? You see a fish, you try to catch him. What's wrong with that? Besides, it's not like I was touching him or anything."

"You don't say things like that to people! You wouldn't do that to dad, would you?"

"Pfft..no. What kinda question is that? I'm not some sort of sicko. Besides, he was cute...what's wrong with a little compliment every now and then."

"Guys don't like that Blonda. Just stop.", Wanda groaned, pulling out her cell-phone to avoid conversation. "You know, one of these days, it's going to bite you back in the ass. Karma's got way of reaching everyone around here."

"Yeah right. Then explain why I'm one of the richest fairies in all of Fairy World.", Blonda bragged, smirking, "Seriously, you making a mountain out of a mole hill. He probably won't remember us after today anyways. Just lemme have my fun. Ugh…I'll be right back. I gotta re-do my make up."

Wanda didn't get much time for herself after that. After Blonda had left, Cosmo came back to the table with a black tray in the right hand. Wanda smiled gently as he set the foot down, placing the burgers and fries in front of her.

"Thanks uh..what'd you say your name was again?"

"Oh! I'm Cosmo! It's a pleasure to serve you."

"Cosmo huh? Well, you're doing one heck of a job. Uh, I'm sorry for my sister earlier. She can be uh.."

"She seems very outgoing.", Cosmo said, though Wanda could pick up the slight annoyance on his tone, "I guess it's alright. Not the first time some one spoke to me like that."

"Well regardless, it's still not right, and I'm really sorry.", Wanda said, as she dipped one of the fries into her ketchup and took a bite, "Oh damn, these are amazing. You make these?"

"Nah. I'm not allowed in the kitchen anymore after that incident with the ice cream machine.", Cosmo smiled as Wanda laughed, "I don't think I've got your name. I've seen you around school thought."

"Oh..Wanda. I think we have geometry together."

"I wouldn't know. I don't ever pay attention, haha.", Cosmo laughed, before he noticed Blonda leave the women's room, "Well, enjoy the rest of your meal. I'll be back to clear your plates later."

Wanda smiled softly as Cosmo left to wait on another table, her head resting on her left hand. She had to admit that Blonda was right on figure, admiring how easy his curves flowed down in relation to the rest of his body. His green hair bounced cheerfully as he went back to scrubbing, and Wanda noticed his cheeks were somewhat rosy. She wasn't sure if it was the sun or…

"See? Aren't I right like always?", Blonda smiled, sitting back down.

"Oh, shut your mouth, Blonda! You're so damn annoying."

"Pssh, only cause you don't wanna admit I'm right."

"Oh shut up and eat your damn salad."

After they ate, Cosmo came back with the checks for their meals. Wanda gave a rather generous tip of 40% while Blonda merely wrote her phone number on her receipt and told Cosmo to "call for a fun time". He rolled his eyes and pocketed the yellow copies of each, and went about his business, waving bye to Wanda as he got ready to switch for dishwasher duty.

Over the next few months, Cosmo hadn't seen much of Blonda, with the exception of kissing a purple-eyes, muscular fairy in the back of the restaurant, but Wanda had made sure to come by at least a few times. They talked every chance Cosmo got to serve her table, and eventually, Cosmo found himself barely able to think about anything other than her. To him, knowing Wanda almost made his 16,000 years of living hell almost worth it.

However, the first week of May, Cosmo found himself slouching on the couch one Saturday evening, staring at an old family portrait that his father (for some odd reason) still kept out on the coffee table. It had both his mother and father, and his two siblings stood at the sides.

"Sweetheart, are you ready for some ca-", his father, Linnie, asked before he stopped into the living room, looking at Cosmo sadly as he looked at the picture, "Oh dear, you're still looking at that, aren't you? Oh honey, come here…"

Linnie sat down and hugged Cosmo gently as the two stared at the photo. Not only was Cosmo's birthday today, but today also happened to be the day Mama Cosma (Nora) had left and never came back. Cosmo knew she was still alive somewhere; occasionally the telephone would ring with Mama Cosma yelling at her so-called "husband", so Cosmo always held some sort of hope that she'd come back different, or at least not as angry.

He just didn't understand it; why did she leave? Surely it wasn't just because of his grades that one semester? He's failed classes countless amounts of times, but up until Cosmo turned 12,000, she at least stuck around, even if she was cussing and hitting people all the time. She always claimed that he and his siblings, "ruined her life", but he never quite understood what they did to drive her away.

"Aw honey I know it's been hard, but you know it's not your fault, right?", Linnie asked softly, rubbing Cosmo's back, "Listen sweetie, why don't we have some cake and milk? It might make you feel better. And if you're still upset in the morning, then we'll talk about it. But right now, I think the birthday boy needs to settle in some. Come on now darling…"
