This is my third story. I appreciate any feedback. Thank you.
Author's Note: Holy crap I totally wasn't expecting the follows at all. As a new author that's actually a really big ego boost to me. I actually have a lot of chapters written for the three stories I have posted out, it's just I'm kinda shy since I really want y'all to enjoy them also i'm terrible at names and chapter naming… _
Anyways though since y'all are following me and the story i'll try to live up to those expectations and put out chapters as I can. I'd say I should be able to do it either daily or weekly if not every two weeks. Once I start writing I can't stop. It actually pretty disturbing how quick I can write chapters up.
Only thing I will say though is I will be pacing the chapters slowly. Trying to get you to fall in love with Quiver-09, Equalibrium and my take on the Normandy crew.
Will be skipping things I consider pointless like them traveling in space unless I can use certain impacts of what happened on missions to do character and world building.
Final Author Note: Please please review don't get me wrong I love that y'all are following me but at the same time I truly want to know your thoughts, feelings and opinions because it lets me see my story through your point of view instead of my rose tinted glasses. Hell I don't even care if some of y'all get upset with what I do and flame me. Because to me if your taking that time to actually write a review then my story must be pretty different than other stories for you to take the time and write something about it instead of closing the page and moving on etc.
P.S: Thank you again for the follows. Made me fall in love with being a writer more and more. :D
Chapter 2: Shock Awakening
2 years later…
Location: Normandy Medbay.
So… what exactly am I looking at Miranda, is this another one of Illusive Man's projects to outdo the quarians in creating their own geth? A commanding but gentle and firm voice asked as she looked at the robotic body that was laying down on a medical bed that had a floating ball that was hovering over it scanning it here and there.
"Hardly Shepard. This type of technology is beyond our understanding let alone our universe". Miranda scoffed. "You give the Illusive Man and Cereberus too much credit. Sadly the only thing we were able to do thanks to that floating ball your staring at is keep Project Icarus alive and fed while waiting for her to wake up. From her self imposed shutdown otherwise she just be a empty shell." Miranda said frowning.
"Well how is it…she doing then? Shepard asked while looking at the robotic body on the medical table.
Equalibrium sighed after he finished his scans of his partner. "She's waking up slowly, i've given her all the light I can spare even with the fabricated light Miranda was able to create from the sample I showed her. It isn't doing anything more." He said despondently as if he was ready to give up living since he was missing his other half.
"What's this light you keep talking about? Shepard asked curious. Of how it could wake up the robotic body let alone had a human soul powering it.
"It simple layman terms it would be like your many religions you have on earth but more to the point it would be like your Jewish, Christian and Taoism religions. I believe the Christian religion savior summed it quite accurately by saying He was the truth and the life and only by him could they reach his father. Or in Taoism terms that in this universe where there is light there is darkness or good and evil can not exist without the other to give them each other meaning."
Wow… that's wow… Shepard stammered out stunned while rubbing her forehead with a coming headache.
"I'm sorry. I don't mean to make it difficult to understand even though I was created and am a part of the Traveler not even I understand all of what it means to be a part of the light. All I know and do understand when I was created was to find my other half to fight the darkness." Equalibrium said turning back to his partner hoping beyond hope her eyes would open back up and glow that beautiful purple he was fascinated by whenever she took her helmet off.
"I wish I could help." Shepard whispered walking over to the robotic body and touching its fisted hands before pulling back with a cry as static discharge from her hand left her and hit the robotic body's hand that she briefly touched.
Everyone became deathly silent while Shepard shook her aching hand from being electric shocked.
"That's never happened before." Equalibrium finally answered as he started scanning his partner's body after processing with lightning speed at his partner being shocked from being touched.
The comatose body started to twitch here and there the fisted hands spasming trying to find purchase on something to keep them steady before all at once the robotic body woke up with a gasp closed eyes opening quiet machinery wirling to life to pump her blood through its now awake parts as she looked around before spotting Equalibrium floating in front of her.
Grabbing Equalibrium and bringing him protectly to her body. "Whe... Where am I Equalibrium? What all happened while I was unconscious?" The female robotic body asked.
Letting out a sobbing laugh Equalibrium tried to escape her hold only for her to tighten her hands around him. "Guardian… Quiver-09 i'm so glad your finally awake. You've been unconscious for two years." He said finally escaping her hold as she became shocked at being unconscious for two years.
"Yes two years. I hope you were worth the amount of money and time spent on repairing you and keeping you alive." Miranda said with a frown not having expected their guest to wake up let alone how she woke up left her with many questions she planned on badgering Equalibrium with.
Before Quiver could respond Shepard beat her to it. "That's enough Miranda. I will not have you treating my guest even if she is a machine like some investment that she has to pay back." Shepard commanded daring Miranda to challenge her.
"Just make sure she doesn't do anything stupid Shepard, Equalibrium." Miranda said before making her way out of the medbay.
"I'm sorry about her. She's quite fanatical if not devoted to the organization she works for." Shepard apologized. "It's fine. I've had my run in with similar guardians and the like where I'm from." Quiver said as she stretched her arms above her head like she was trying to pop her bones.
When that didn't happen she let out a chuckle seeing Shepard give her a funny look. "Sorry just something that stuck with me from what little memories I have as a human before I had my consciousness transferred to this body."
"You were human once?" Shepard asked trying to get to know her guest. "Yes though I don't have all my memories. I only know bits and pieces. Mostly just my habits and how to use my guns, knifes and bow." Quiver answered as she finally took stalk of her surrounding before looking down and realized she was naked.
Squeaking in embarrassment she pulled her arms cross over her chest and crossed her legs to try and give herself some form of privacy. "What happened to my clothes and armor Equalibrium!" Quiver half screamed half panicked out.
Shepard tried to stifle a laugh as she watched the machine woman try and cover herself like an innocent maiden. It further drove it home that there truly was a human soul powering the machine in front of her that was trying to hide her curvy and voluptuous from
Letting out a bunch of coughs and laughs. Equalibrium quickly transmatted her undergarments and armor onto the floor near her bed from his memory banks.
Giving up on trying to save her modesty since Shepard was a woman and thankfully the medbay blinds were closed she glared at the cameras before huffing and started putting on her panties and bra.
"So… why do you need clothing and armor if your a machine now especially undergarments? Shepard asked in ignorance. "Its how we stay human inside the machine. If we didn't care about our new body and didn't try to keep doing the things we did as a human then instead of treating it like a permanent vessel we would start losing sight of who we are. Then the machine would take over us or we would just become a cold hard killing machine doing nothing but our programmed algorithms. Eat, sleep, survive, kill and procreate.
"Wait… Procreate? You mean you can give birth like a human?" Shepard asked stunned. Quiver nodded her head. "Yes though it's more difficult than a regular human female as it needs the blessing of the light in order for it to become alive and sentient." Quiver said as she finished putting on her armor and clasped her cloak to the magnetic straps on her armor before putting her helmet on and pulling the hood over her head.
Shepard nodded in understanding. "So why are you putting your armor on for? Don't you have any civilian clothes? Shepard asked curiously.
"Sadly no… where I'm from I'm called a hunter class and especially since I'm a machine I get called out to do jobs or quests that need to be done in order to protect the last city and my fellow guardians especially the civilians more frequently than humans. Hunters get called to go out and get either information to bring back home about the enemy or take the enemy out themselves if they are skilled enough or have a strong enough party they are with." Quiver said as she took stock of her armor seeing it was in need of repair but wasn't urgent.
Shepard hummed in thought. "So what all can you do then? Shepard asked curious if her fellow project case would help her fight the reapers. "A bit of everything except defense like a titan, healing unless have certain weapons and pure destructive firepower that warlocks have. Why do you need my help?" Quiver answered and asked as she looked quizzically at Shepard taking in her features admiring the beautiful redhead with green eyes getting lost in her features.
Blushing in embarrassment feeling Quiver intense gaze as her purple eyes seemed glow brighter as they zeroed in on her and looked her up and down. Letting out a embarrassed cough she swallowed her nervousness down and gave Quiver an equal stare as to not be cowed by her. "Yes, I and the galactic civilizations have an enemy wether they face it willingly or not is called the Reapers a sentient machine race and every 50,000 years they harvest all organic life that has made it to the citadel and is part of the galatic community.
Quiver frowned crossing her arms. "I'll definitely help. It's what I was brought back to life to do. To fight impossible odds and fight against the darkness. By your tone and the gruesome pictures i'm picturing I can imagine this won't be a easy fight. I'll have to refit my weapons and armor to be of any use I'd wager."
Shepard nodded her head pleased. Before putting her hand out and getting a hand shake in return from Quiver "Good. I'm glad to have your help in this fight. If you need any tasks done or supplies let me know and i'll order them when we arrive at a planet or station." Shepard said with a wide smile.
