As Tony fell from the extremely high window, all he could think about was Yinsen. Yinsen and Coulson. Yinsen who was dead. Yinsen, who was supposed to get home. Yinsen, who was a lot more innocent than him, yet was dead. Yinsen, who had saved him, despite Tony killing his family. All because he was a good person who did the right thing.
Couson, who had also died simply because he was doing the right thing. Coulson, who had died believing in the fantasy that they could work together. Coulson, who had died protecting the team of heroes who were supposed to protect the world.
"Because if we can't save the world, you can be bleep sure we'll avenge it." Tony was already tired of avenging people. They were supposed to protect people, not avenge them. If you're avenging, then it's already too late.
