Chapter 11: Dream.

Lincoln's P.O.V:

- Captain's Journal, file #532: - Hi everyone! This is captain Triton reporting from aboard the S.S. Royal clutch, it seems that the crew at charge of mission code: 1389, "Operation Find and Retrieve the 7 chaos Diamonds from misterious planet Mobus and Think of a Shorter Name for This Operation", has become trapped within a space-time continuum vortex at the periphery of the star system, sergeant in charge Cloud Mcstrife has just sent a help signal detailing the coordinates of their whereabouts, I suggest all units within a 3 Light-year radius to commence emergency rescue protocols, current mission at the given time will be handled by myself and co-pilot agent DeLola, any information about the rescue operation shall be delivered immediately to command control. - I gave the order as I became aware of the difficult situation that I put my dear best friend and the other members of the crew, the original plan quickly backfired at the unexpected revelation that a space-time anomaly remained hidden at the back side of the detected central star of the system, but really, I only had myself to blame for that, as I was the one to suggest entering the system from that angle, fearing that a more frontal approach would bring forth a potential path of collision with an asteroid ring, but calculations done after the matter confirmed that said chance was minimal.

- Please worry not anymore Captain, you did everything in your power to prevent even a minimal chance from an asteroid collision, you couldn't have possibly known of the anomaly! – A young girl with a pink princess outfit and beautiful, golden curly hair in a similar shape to my own, spoke beside me in a comforting voice.

- T-thanks prin… emm, agent DeLola – I quickly corrected myself at the realization that the real identity of the girl by my side was to remain hidden – It's just that, they are doing all of this to help me in my selfish desire to bring you eternal happiness and here I am, putting them in harm's way. - I lower my head and avoid contact with my co-pilot, for I didn't know how to express my frustration without it sounding accusative.

- Perhaps you are right commander, maybe this isn't worth it, you yourself said that it would only bring happiness to me, but truth be told, your happiness also matters, in fact, I'll be happy, for as long as you're happy, no matter where you are! – The undercover princess told me with a smile in her face and a reassuring tone, reminding me of the whole point of this quest: we wanted to be together, but it couldn't be, so I at least wanted to leave a lasting impact on my princess, and give her the chance to grant whatever wish her heart desired.

- You forget something, agent, your happiness is also my happiness, so as long as it is within my power and influence to bestow upon you the chance to fulfill your deepest desire, I will fight the entire universe for a chance to make it possible. – I declared solemnly while holding her hands with my own and lowering my head to kiss her left hand, like how a knight pledges his vow to his princess.

- Captain… - The princess began looking at me with watery eyes, as a faint blush began to appear, a sight that I found, most… irresistible.

- Princess… - I reply to the beautiful princess while I look at her pretty blue orbs, bursting with emotion and longing, as I begin approaching my face to hers, until we're only a few centimeters apart, my own blush becoming quite evident by the rising heat in my face, by this point, my lips are probably less than a cm apart to meeting hers, I begin closing my eyes in anticipation.

- L-Linky… – I hear her voice one last time, only…

- Wait, WHAT!? –

*beep* *beep* *beep*

I flinch as I open my eyes at blinding speed, keeping them wide open for an unnatural amount of time as I try to focus on the object in front on me, only to find myself face to face with an all too familiar face, I stand there In shock as I try to process every single visual cue around me to analyze the situation, which redirects me to the source of the annoying beeping sound, an alarm marking the hour at 6:00AM.

I then redirect my eyes once again at the person laying right in front of me, as her eyes start to twitch and her face shrinks in sign of annoyance.

- Lincoln turn it off! – I hear the all too familiar bossy order coming from the girl right in front of me as I watch her avoid opening her eyes to no avail, I do not turn it off as I find myself still lost at trying to process everything that happened.

- L-lola? – I say with a cracking voice, clearly demanding an explanation for the situation that I'm finding myself on, the name of said sister finally begins to click in my mind as I remember the events of yesterday and realize that I had just woken up from a dream.

A really disturbing dream.

- Ugh fine, I'll do it myself! – Lola finally snaps her eyes open as she looks at my face with murderous intent, I flinch back a little as I realize that we had trespassed an important perimeter of personal space.

She finally turns around and steps out of the bed to turn the alarm off, then proceeds to exhale deeply to look at me, her eyes still glaring at me with daggers in her pupils, which normally would be enough to make me beg for my life, however, upon closer inspection, I also manage to notice very heavy bags underneath her eyes, a clear indicator that she hadn't slept well, which isn't very surprising considering how late we stayed yesterday, or rather, today, I would know.

I also feel mortally tired right now.

To my surprise however, after a few seconds, Lola's trademark death glare starts to soften and quickly transforms in a sympathetic, yet still tired look, as a small smile begins to show up.

- Thanks Linky… I feel much better now! – She says as energetically as possible for her state, before her face turns into a more apologetic, regretful one – and I promise that from here and on, I'll never bother you again with "that", you are free to hang out with whoever you want! – She finishes while showing an… unconvincing smile, but I guess I'll take it, I now know that I can trust her word and very rarely has she broken a promise before anyways, which allows me to smile back at her.

She then proceeds to turn to the door out of my room but stays still for a moment, then turns her head back at me.

- But, can you promise me something too? – She asks with a concerned tone, but I clear her fears away by showing a confident smile.

- Anything for you sis, what gives? – I calmly ask, expecting some little petty favor like playing a tea party with her or some more counseling for her pageants.

- Well… Any time that Lana is not staying… – Lola looks at the floor as she finishes her train of thoughts and I start becoming concerned for the level of commitment of this request – …Could we continue with the story? – She finally gets her head back up to look at me with those irresistible puppy eyes as she holds her hands in a praying position.

Dang it! She got me.

- Uhhh… - I start trying to come up with my own terms and exceptions to not be exclusively dependent on Lana here, but my thoughts quickly get thrown out of the window as I look at her again, how is it possible to be this adorable!? Even with the huge bags in her eyes for flip's sake!

- …Sure! You're always welcome here sis, just make sure to not make it too often, we don't want the others to fight for it again! – I hesitantly answer while showing an unconvincing smile myself, it's not that I don't want her around, but I know that Lana as of lately had begun to hang out with Liam at his barn (to my dismay, I feel like I'm losing a friend and a sister to each other…), so if this continues, I could be seeing Lola as often as thrice a week, which is definitely not going to go unnoticed by the others, plus, I also need my free time, I can't imagine not doing a "Movie-Saturday" or "Comic-Thursday" with Clyde, I can't imagine skipping so much valuable sleep time, and well…

I don't even know if I want to continue that story…

- Deal! – I hear my sister say with a confident voice, making me snap out of my trance and look at her, only to find a genuine smile in her face! I smile back, which is apparently enough reassurance for her as she finally opens the door, revealing the typical chaotic Loud morning and the dreaded Line to the bathroom, and leaves.

I'm guessing she already had an excuse prepared?

I shrug it off as I make the not-so-difficult decision to delay the alarm for 10 more minutes, I guess I'll be constantly in a hurry today, but for now, I just need to rest more…

That dream is totally going to haunt me the entire day, and I definitely don't need that when dealing with mr. Bolhofner and Chandler at school.
