(My Friend, Anya)

*March 29th, 1941*

*6:41am*

It was the early hours of the morning as the alarm clock had woke Charlotte up from her sleep as the young girl looked around before yawning to herself.

"Today is gonna be a wonderful day with my friends! I just know it!" Charlotte had spoken to herself as she jumped out of her bed as she entered the bathroom to get herself ready for a shower as she heard a voice calling out to her.

"Charlotte! I've packed your lunch so please don't forget it like yesterday or you're gonna be starving all day!" Mrs Smith had spoken to her daughter in a concerned tone of voice as she heard her daughter beginning to speak.

"Don't worry! I won't and if I do then I might have to share with Anya and Nancy!" Charlotte had spoken back to her mother with a smile on her face as she turned on the shower as she proceeded to freshen herself up for the day.

*7:00am*

Twenty minutes had passed as Charlotte stepped out of the bathroom as she was ready for her day as she dried herself up, got dressed, and done her hair in her usual half up pigtails as she walked downstairs to see her mother setting down breakfast.

"Did you get a good night's rest last night?" Mrs Smith had asked her daughter in a warm tone of voice as she sat down on the chair as she saw her daughter do the same.

"I've slept well, Thank you for asking and how did you sleep mother?" Charlotte had responded back with a smile on her face as she began to eat her breakfast with great enthusiasm.

"I've been sleeping pretty decent but still have enough energy to take care of the house so that's a good side to things" Mrs Smith had responded back as her words made her daughter smile warmly.

"I'm glad, If you ever need help around the house then please let me know, okay?" Charlotte had advised her mother as the young girl took a sip of orange juice from her cup.

"I will, Thank you so much for the offer. It truly means alot to me" Mrs Smith had responded back to her daughter as the pair continued to eat their breakfast for the next ten to twenty minutes.

*7:26pm*

Charlotte and her mother were just finishing with cleaning the kitchen as Charlotte was just about ready to go to school.

"Thank you so much for the help and I hope you have a wonderful day at school!" Mrs Smith had spoken to her daughter as she waved farewell to her with a smile on her face.

"Anytime mother! I hope you have a wonderful day as well!" Charlotte had spoken back to her mother as she stepped outside and closed the door behind her as she began to run away towards her destination.

"If I run, then I can make it to school in less than twenty minutes!" Charlotte had thought to herself as she continued to run as she quickly avoided the many people that were walking in her direction.

"I don't live too far from the school and I'm pretty fit so I can easily run there without getting tired" Charlotte had thought to herself as she saw Highlands High School and it's sign getting closer which brought a smile on her face.

"I'm here! That was quicker than I expected! I'm glad to live near my school" Charlotte had spoken to herself with a smile on her face as she saw Anya and Nancy waiting for her which surprised her.

"Hey, you guys are early but It's wonderful seeing you guys and how is both of yall mornings going so far?" Charlotte had asked Anya and Nancy as she approached her friends as she took the time to take a few deep breaths.

"Just wanted to get an early start but I've been doing very well and I'm glad to see you as well, my good friend" Anya had spoken back to her friend while Nancy nodded her head in agreement as she began to speak as well.

"I can say the same as well, It's wonderful seeing everyone at this time so that always brightens my days at school so I can say I've made some pretty wonderful friends" Nancy had spoken back to Charlotte.

"Awwww thank you so much and I can say the same to both of you and we also have time to spare so wanna study in the library before school starts?" Charlotte had asked her friends as she motioned her hands at the entrance of the school as she was met with nods of agreement from her friends.

"That sounds like a good plan! We should study since Miss Joyce is giving us a test" Anya had spoken back to Charlotte as she and her friends made their way towards the library as they entered the school entrance.

"Hey Ladies, How is everyone's morning going so far? I hope it's a good one" Russell had greeted his friends as he tipped his hat in respect which made the girls stop and smile back.

"Friend! My friends and I have been doing well! Thank you very much and it's wonderful to see you as well" Charlotte had spoken back to Russell as she smiled back at him as Anya began to speak.

"I've been doing pretty good so far but how's Carrie? I see she's isn't with you" Anya had asked Russell in a tone of curiosity as she and her friends began to walk towards the library.

"Carrie has been doing pretty good! She's not here today because she has a doctor's appointment but she'll definitely be here tomorrow but she's doing good!" Russell had answered back as this made Anya sigh with relief as the group had finally entered the library.

"You guys find a seat while I head out to get some fresh air, okay? I won't be too long" Charlotte had spoken to her friends as she saw them walking towards one of the tables as the young girl had exited the library and walked her way towards the bathroom.

"It's wonderful to have friends who're there for you, I was pretty lonely as a kid so I never had anyone to play or talk to but that all changed with Anya. She was there to defend me from those bullies and now I have some but THE best of the best friends that had ever come across my path and it's all thanks to you, Anya" Charlotte had thought to herself with a tearful smile on her face as she had taken the time to thank her friend for all of the good times that they've shared together as she quickly wiped her tears and entered the library once more.

"Charlotte, I thought you were gonna get some fresh air, Is anything okay?" Anya had asked her friend in a tone of concern as she awaited her answer.

"I'm okay, When I'm with you guys then everything's okay in my book!" Charlotte had answered back as she let out a warm smile as she walked towards her friends as she was ready to spend another blissful day with them.
