Author's Notes: 10000 views? WOOT!? Thank you for all of the encouraging comments to all of my reviewers, i'm glad to hear that you like the dynamic between Lincoln and Lola's relationship in this fic.
As for the hiccups to Lore accuracy:
Guest: It's been heavily implied to be the case, yeah, but the episode "Toads and Tiaras" states that Lincoln only started seriously studying fashion ever since, which is the part that Lola appreciates the most.
frankbean1313: Lana's characterization in regards to gross stuff is... inconsistent, one episode may show her getting sick, others state that her favorite meals are worm sandwiches and mud pies, both of which are VERY unhygienic, overall i tend to cling to the later and I like to believe that Lana's immune system is well trained by now.

Chapter 28: Date.
- How's it going buddy!? – Clyde answered to Lincoln's greeting while getting ready for their Clincoln McCloud greeting, only to watch Lincoln clap hands once before looking for the bus seat besides Stella, he knew he had promised his best friend to not become visibly jealous and make a scene whenever he found someone else to spend time with, a promise that he had kept for three long years now.
However, he didn't expect that he would go on to straight up replace him, it had been like that ever since he officialized his relationship with Stella a few months ago, the group had already gotten weary with the "will they won't they" attitude that the two had for each other, so once they finally decided to get over it, a breath of relief had been released for everyone involved.
Now he kind of wished they kept it a secret…
On the other hand…
- So I was sayin', ya wanna guess who could shove that ol' cow sideways? She's one kind of a lass y'all –
- There's the other lovebird… - Clyde thought ironically to himself by just watching to the side to his new seat companion.
- Dude, we know, this is like the sixth story that you have told us about her today… - An annoyed rusty felt the obligation to stop Liam's excitement over his adventures with the rowdy sister of Lincoln's – Why don't you ask her out already? – He stated the elephant of the room, changing his face to a grin, to Liam's dismay.
- There you keep sayin' that, I already told y'all there's nothing goin' on – An offended Liam retorted with great pride, hiding a soft, but noticeable blush, giving the group enough fuel for the teasing to continue.
- Whatever man, I can bet my recently discovered hair of the Chupacabra that you'll end together – Zach then added fuel by turning the matter into a contest.
- Guys please, stop teasing him, don't you see that Liam is not comfortable with that – Stella finally made herself present by interrupting the conversation that wasn't going anywhere – Also remember that you're talking about Lincoln's sister here – She added to the growing guilt of the boys after being called out, reminding them to watch their mouths on Lincoln's presence.
- Are you okay Linc? – She then grabbed the hand of her boyfriend, who had been so far watching the window outside, indifferent to the conversation.
- …ahh, Uh, yeah! Don't worry I'm fine, cutiepie~ – Lincoln reacted to the soft touch of his precious girlfriend's hand, allowing him to snap out of his trance and focus back on his group of friends.
- Buddy, you're spacing out again, you sure it's ok? – Knowing the previous anxiety attacks that his best friend had had over the years, Clyde decided once again to inquire for Lincoln's honesty.
- Yeah bud, don't worry, really I was just kind of being too lazy to think at the moment – The white haired teenager quickly deflected the situation, although his "excuse" wasn't that false in a way.
He really wasn't thinking about anything, he also wasn't feeling in the mood to talk to his friends, it could just be the current environment, having people who can easily eavesdrop their conversation.
It could also be, that he was in that mood, where he just wanted Stella around, and he felt sorry for Clyde, that this kind of "mood" had been raising over the years.
- Why are we still doing this? –
- Why not? –
- …fair enough – Rusty replied with a defeated expression at Zach's logical response, the habit of trading for everyone's food becoming a sacred tradition for the group.
As "the group of kids who never quite grew up" from their transition from middle school to the more busy and monotone high-school, Lincoln and his friends never once showed regrets in retaining their antics in place, it was their identity, their passion, they remained a part of the well-renowned (if controversial) Action News Team, looking for all sorts of gossips around the whole school (and parts of the town!), they remained strong in unity, overcoming even the most distracting and discouraging detractors.
They had fun all the way through, even though their classrooms were even more separate now, Lincoln did not get the chance to ask Luan for tips of survival before she was already out, and Lynn, a senior by this point, refused to assist him on this one, her apathy was now a thing of legends.
Survival gets harder everyday, but that was what he had his friends for, and also, on the bright side, he never had to deal with Chandler again, now, coming back to the situation at hand…
- Well, anyone want a piece of THIS? - Lincoln excitedly opens his more serious lunchbox to reveal… A peanut butter and sauerkraut sandwich…
- Dude, seriously, this is like the 8th time in a row you bring this, nobody likes it! - Rusty didn't even hesitate to reply while facepalming in the process.
- My homie here has a point lad, I've seen ol' Virginia chewin' on better smelling manure than that bollock ey' - Liam seconded the notion.
And nobody, not even Stella, jumped in to defend him.
- Ehhh… whatever, more for me! - Lincoln replied defensibly with a frown, as he began happily eating his favorite meal, to the disgust of the others.
- Well then, thanks to Lincoln here, no rotation today either… - Rusty replied with evident frustration.
- Well guys, it's not like he's forced to do this, let him have his sandwich - Clyde shrugged as he jumped in to defend his friend.
- He could help himself by making a different meal everyday, like seriously, you had more variety before dude, try to put in a little more effort, you look like an android at this point - Zach joined in to the discomfort.
- Well sorry, these sandwiches are a great and quick food, you'd understand if you knew how busy I am - Lincoln replied with his arms closed, annoyed by the conversation.
- Pffft, busy with what? - Rusty confronted.
- This trick! - Lincoln replied as he spawned a deck of cards from his pocket.
He shuffled the cards, or well… he attempted to shuffle the deck, but as soon as he did a quick hand motion to split the deck in hand, a miscalculation occurred, sending the cards everywhere in the table, getting on the food of some of his friends, including his girlfriend.
- Well… no wonder you remain only the 3rd best magician in town - the red-haired teenager with acne replied unamused at Lincoln's mess.
- Rusty! - It was Stella's turn to jump in to the conversation, calling out her friend for crossing the line, she saw her boyfriend become visibly embarrassed for the stunt, which prompted her supportive side.
- Lincoln, everyone makes mistakes, you don't need to try to hard to impress anyone here, we all are your friends, i'm sure that the trick was going to be good, here, let me pick them up with you! - She added, ready to cheer up the boy.
And that was enough to return the smile In his face, he was going to abandon the trick altogether, but at least he didn't feel bad for being such a slow learner anymore, his girlfriend deserved the world.
And he was going to make sure of giving her that.
- Linc, you know you don't need to invite me to this fancy place, we could just go to flips or Burping Burgers – Stella voiced her disconcert at the nature of the date that Lincoln had planned with her a few days prior, the ex-overachiever that she fell In love with during middle school could still have an "ace card" hidden every once in a while, but, while flattered, she still felt that he was trying to overdo it, it was only their 6-monthversary and yet…
- Nonsense, it's the least I could have done for you, my love – Lincoln came with his best interpretation of a cliché gentleman, trying to still fight some inner awkwardness while doing it, it was still a whole new concept to him, so he was trying to adapt as much as he could, but he was sure that, if anything, at least the classy reservation to a spot at Giovanny Changs and his suit were in his favor.
Although… perhaps he shouldn't be taking love advice from a 10-year old.
- You know? I'm just surprised that our friends took it so lightly – The tall girl pointed out, looking to dig into another subject while grabbing her boyfriend's hands at the other side of the table.
- What do you mean? – Lincoln raised an eyebrow at his girlfriend's remark.
- Well, you know, like… - Stella took her time to come up with the appropriate words - … when I originally met you guys, you were all acting a little weird to having a female friend in your group, so it kind of turned into a competition of sorts… then I made it clear that I was just looking to make friends, so some of you acted kind of disappointed – she continued while spurting a soft blush – But then over time, you came to accept me as just one more member of the group! And I was really happy about that, but… I still feel like If I somehow broke an important rule in the group by choosing to date you – She finished, looking to the side with a hint of shame in her voice.
- Stella… babe, don't blame yourself over that! – Lincoln replied with an encouraging tone, making sure to re-establish eye contact with his beloved girlfriend – remember, when I was having confusing feelings about you, it was them who encouraged me to ask you out – the committed boyfriend ensured Stella with sufficient logic.
- …thanks Linc – the girl's smile returned after taking by heart the encouraging words from her boyfriend, approaching his face in a sudden movement to reward him with a quick peck on the lips, making the boy release an intense blush while opening his eyes wide open.
- O…. Ok, no prob babe! – Lincoln raised his arm to scratch the back of his head while looking to the side, still noticeably unused to this level of intimacy with his girlfriend.
- But also – Stella added, stopping Lincoln to not deviate any further from his thoughts – I'm really happy to see not just our friends, but also your family accepting me so warmly – She commented, before facing Lincoln with a look of both relief and disbelief – Even Lola has been pretty nice with me as of lately, I never thought that girl was even capable of tolerating my presence before –
- Well she better be, wouldn't want anyone talking crap of my girlfriend would I? – Lincoln replied with a fake annoyance while looking at his girlfriend straight in the eyes, eliciting a small giggle from her.
Truth be told though… it did take Lola a few months to get over the revelation, more than any other sister, and that's saying something! Lincoln had to threaten her in many occasions to not talk to her for a while if she dared to say a word against Stella, in the end, it seemed to work, as Lola became quite supportive of the relationship in a 180º pivot, heck, she even offered some genuine love advice to help him confess and ask his now girlfriend, the knowledge of a 9-year old at the time when it came to romance, no matter how much of a diva she can be, left him impressed to say the least, from saying things "like a gentleman", to dancing, to the way that you have to approach a woman when she's sad… he guessed the world of beauty pageants teaches more than just poses and empty words,
Although he still thought… from time to time, that these kind of lessons were more of an "older sister" thing, he didn't ask Lori once about her relationship with Bobby since she left, and now that they are close to getting married, he kind of regrets it, but at the same time…
Lola sure made it a fun experience….
