I remember when I was little that I wanted a puppy. I would bug Mama for hours about it. But she always shook her head and smiled gently saying, "When you're older."
But then Dad died. It took me a while but when I asked for a dog again Mama said she needed a quiet pet.
And that's where Buyo came in. Oh sure he was quiet but that quiet pet lead me to the most adventurous fairytale ever.
I laugh at the thought now. I always wanted a puppy and I got Inuyasha instead. I giggle because sometimes I wonder 'What if we had gotten a dog like Inuyasha?' Things would have been far from quiet!
I smile because I love my "dog" more than anyone else in the world and the best part is he loves me back.
Sometimes it's worth it when you wait until you're older.
