CHAPTER 45
WAREHOUSE
Today was a good day, the team has delivered a massive blow to the light and crippled the Reach. They now had enough evidence to clear the names of Superman, Batman, Martian Manhunter, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern and Hawk Woman. Most of all the team is back together.
"I'm so glad you guys are back" M'gann hugged Kaldur and Artemis tightly. The two hugged her back tighter.
"It truly is a privilege to be in the company of friends," Kaldur smiled.
"Better than Deathstroke and Manta" Artemis grumbled. The two pulled back only to be pulled into a hug by Conner.
"Missed you too big guy" Artemis placed her head on his shoulder.
"I must say I'm glad to see you two have reunited" Kaldur said to Wally and Dick both had their hands wrapped around the others.
"I'm glad too" Dick pecked Wally on the cheek.
"Yeah and Conner here is dating Robin" M'gann teased.
"Stopppp" He groaned.
"Well that's unexpected" Artemis commented.
"Tim is a fine young man, I wish you both the best" Kaldur patted his long time friend on the back.
"I love you guys but I really don't want to put on this costume again, he'll I'm willing to give it to Bart to make that a reality" Wally tugged at his Kid Flash suit.
"No way that suit is mine, someone has to remind you why it's a good idea to put it on from time to time." Dick teased.
"Guys I'm beat, I want to get home and sleep in my own bed" Artemis yawned.
"Agreed, I should let my mother know I am alright," Kaldur said.
"Tell her I said hello" M'gann smiled
"M'gann and I will head to the courts to deliver the evidence" Conner informed.
"Sounds like a plan, Dick I think we should go home. You need some rest" Wally crossed his arms.
"Yeah, just let me" Dick reached for the computer console. A red gloved hand covered his black gloved one, he glanced up at Wally who's green eyes were shooting daggers at him. Dick let out a defeated sigh, he pulled his hand back from the computer.
"Thank you," Wally said smugly.
"Happy wife, happy life" Dick mumbled to himself.
"I heard that, you dick" Wally yelled.
"You don't know how much I missed this" Artemis wrapped an arm around both of their necks.
WEST CROCK RESIDENCE
The three entered the house smiles on their faces. Artemis glanced around seeing two bowls on the table. An extra pair of men's sneakers by the door. A blue jacket dropped over the couch.
"So you moved in?" Artemis smirked, glancing at Dick.
"Place got lonely after you left, I needed some company" Wally jokes.
"Right" Artemis rolls her eyes.
"I didn't move in, I just spent a lot of time here. Wally comes to my apartment in bludhaven from time to time too." Dick explained. Artemis shrugged, she walked over towards her bedroom. She jumped back as she opened the door Brucely tackling her to the ground. The dog licked at her face excitedly.
"Hi Brucely" Artemis chuckled running her fingers through his fur. Wally looked at the two fondly.
"Hey Arty, may want to call your mom. I got an earful from her because I lied about well you know" Wally scratched the back of his head.
"Jade told her the truth," Dick informed. Artemis let out a relieved sigh, she tucked a strand of blonde hair behind her ear.
"At least she knows, I'm gonna pack a bag and head over there. She deserves to see her daughter" Artemis got up and entered the room. Wally glanced at Dick for a moment.
"What?" Dick asked.
"You remembered to tell Roy right? That Artemis is alive" Wally questioned.
"Yeah, I did and he almost shot me through the heart for lying about such a thing" Dick plopped down on the couch letting out a loud groan. His muscles fell limp and his head hung back.
"So glad to have this off my plate" Dick started, he felt a hand grip his shirt and yank him upward. Dick's blue eyes widened, Wally leaned in with gritted teeth.
"You think you're going to put me through this anxiety for months and get away with it? Not on your life boy wonder you owe me" Wally growled out.
"Do you want a blow job or something?" Dick offered. Wally pondered for a moment.
"Yes but not now, for now I'd say date night let's go" Wally dragged Dick out the door.
"Babe I'm tired" Dick whined.
"I truly do not care." Wally added.
"I thought a relationship was about compromise" Dick called out.
"I went along with your plan for months. Now you're going along with my plan for a night capish?" Wally said in a final tone. Dick relented, he pulled Wally into a warm hug and rested his head on the ginger's shoulder.
"Okay I get it. You're right, okay? I love you so much" Dick placed his hands on Wally's cheeks and pecked his lips. Wally smiled warmly at his partner, he grabbed Dick's ring hand and kissed it lightly.
"So where are we going?" Dick wondered.
"We're heading to Gotham. You're going to take me dancing" Wally chanted.
GARRICK RESIDENCE
Gar, Tim, Cassie and Bart were seated on Bart's bed watching reruns of "Hello Megan".
"Your mom was so pretty Gar" Cassie smiled at the screen watching Megan fall down off a ladder only to be caught by Conner.
"Thanks Cass" Gar accepted the compliment.
"So Bart hey did you invite all of us over anyway? I thought you'd be out with Wally celebrating" Tim stated. Bart shrugged, he crossed his arms and huffed.
"He told me he wanted to celebrate with Dick tonight. I didn't really want to hang with Jaime right now either" Batt grumbled.
"How is that going buddy? I know break ups must be hard" Gar patted his back.
"I can punch him for you," Cassie offered.
"Stop" Tim hissed at her.
"What? Look how sad little Bart is over mean ol Jaime" Cassie pinched Bart's cheeks playfully. He giggled pulling back from her.
"No Cassie it's okay, I'm not even really mad at him. I just wish things didn't turn out the way they did. I mean we're still friends but it's so awkward now. He hugged me the other day and I still got butterflies in my stomach" Bart pulled his knees up to his chest.
"Hey, everything is going to suck right now, but you'll get through this trust me" Tim smiles.
"Coming from the dude getting super D every night" Cassie quickly dodged a pillow flying past her face. Tim glared at her, his pale cheeks flushed a bright pink.
"I AM NOT!" Tim yelled.
"Even if you are I don't need to know" Gar covered his ears.
"Oh come on guys, we need to lighten the mood. I say let's go out on the town and meet some guys we could all use some" Cassie stated.
"I have a boyfriend," Tim reminded.
"I'm not gay" Gar clarified.
"I'm actually game, I can't stand being cooped up in this room any longer" Bart jumped up from his bed.
"Alright then, it's decided," Cassie boasted. Tim and Gar gave each other distressed looks.
