Chapter 3

After Tim left, Harry began to flick his wand. He packed up his father's old office into conjured boxes. Once he was finished there, he began to really look at the furniture and little knickknacks all around the house. He found that he actually liked everything that was there. He also realised he didn't like the stuff Ginny had bought for their home. To Harry, it all looked to fancy and not something that suited him at all. He decided to pack up the house, store everything, at least for now and use his parent's stuff. If anyone asks, like Ron or Molly, he would say it was too hard to look at when it had been Ginny who had bought everything. He couldn't use it, at least not right now, he needed time. He knew they would believe that. He also didn't want Molly to have it so he will make sure to say that he would use it, he just wanted to give himself some time. Even though he didn't have proof, he knew Molly would have known that Ginny was cheating on him and she probably knew Ginny never really loved him. It was that reason that he wasn't going to allow her to have anything.

As Harry thought about that something nagged at him. He hated thinking it but since he now knew she cheated, he realised she just might have been the type to marry him not only for his fame, but because he had money. The Weasley's never had a lot but it was mainly Molly, Ron and Ginny that always complained about not having money to spend. The stuff Ginny bought for the house was all pricey and she bought so many new clothes they filled not only her walk in wardrobe, but half of his as well. She also bought lots of shoes and jewellery.

He wasn't rich, but he was well off and that was only due to what his godfather left him. He only used that money to buy a home. He didn't want to worry about struggling to pay rent while he was learning to become an auror. He didn't need the added stress. Ginny didn't earn a lot since she was only a reserve player for the Holyhead Harpies. She wouldn't get a decent wage until she ended up on the main team.

As Harry thought about the quidditch team his wife played for, he realised this could be another reason why Ginny pretended to love him. The wife of the saviour would get almost as much attention as Harry Potter would. She wanted to be a Harpy, who would turn down the wife of Harry Potter. Ginny could play, she just needed a lot of training to be able to play next to professionals. When she went to Gwenog Jones to ask for a try out, she got it instantly. Now, Harry believes she only got the try out because of who she was married too.

Harry had to shake himself out of those thoughts, 'It's over, done. I might not have wanted her to die, but this was her own fault,' Harry finished packing up his parents things before he went home.

It took Harry a couple of hours but he had shrunk and packed up ever bit of furniture from his home. Then it took him a while to work out where to put his parent's furniture. He already knew he wanted to turn the downstairs bedroom into an office so he put his father's desk in there then added the two large bookshelves.

When Harry finished with the furniture, he packed up Ginny's clothes. He would ask Molly if she wanted them since they were no use to him and he really didn't want them. Magic could expand or shrink clothes so it wouldn't matter if you bought something too small. He wouldn't be handing over Ginny's jewellery or broom. They were all pricey and he had paid for them. He would sell the jewellery, just not yet. He would wait. For now, it would go into his vault at Gringotts. He didn't need the money and this way no one would think anything strange if he just stored it in his vault. He would wait a year or so then sell it, just so he could get rid of anything that reminded him of his wife and what she had done. Again, he thought about Molly. She must have known how Ginny really felt. He decided not to give her Ginny's clothes, he would get rid of them by donating them to second hand shops. He knew if he did give them to Molly, she would eventually sell them. They were not the type of clothes Molly would wear but she could easily make a bit of money off them since they were all new.

Harry was glad of one thing now he knew the truth. He had found his parent's wedding rings and his mother's engagement ring. At one time he did think of using them and asking Ginny if she would like to use them. At the time, Harry decided he wanted to keep his parent's rings for himself. He planned to put them along with their wands in a glass case and mount them on the wall. He hadn't had time to do it, now he would and put them on the wall of his office.

Harry had returned to the auror office and his training the following day. He found out that Tim had informed all the aurors that they had to get back to all their work, not just work on one crime. Tim saw Ron was about to go off so he explained that Harry would still be working on his wife's death, but he would also be doing other work. Harry had the right since it was his wife that died. Tim told Ron if he wanted to help, he could but only on his own time, not during work hours and he wouldn't be getting paid for it, he also couldn't use their resources. None of the other aurors would be involved at all. It was time to get back to all the crimes that filled files that sat on their desks.

It was only two weeks later that Hermione and Ron visited. Ron instantly went off about the house being different. Harry was able to act like he was hurt when he saw all the stuff Ginny bought and he just couldn't look at it anymore. He did say he planned to use it but not until the pain eased. Ron finally calmed down but Harry did see Hermione give him a very small nod. He did explain that he donated all Ginny's clothes to the second hand shop. He said since he didn't want to keep staring at her things and he couldn't keep them and didn't want anyone he knew to wear them, he just figured it was he best option. Luckily, Ron seemed to understand so he didn't get angry or upset.

It had been six months since Ginny died but Ron would ask Harry every day if he found out who killed his sister. Harry was tired of always being questioned but he knew he couldn't tell any of the Weasley's the truth. He would tell Ron that any lead he got, never panned out. He would continue to work on it in between doing his other work or make them believe he was working on it. He said he would never give up trying to find out who killed his wife. Ron seemed to accept that and eased back. He only asked occasionally now, which Harry was thankful for.

From the time Harry and Connie had teamed up, they had begun to get close. It was Connie who suggested they kept their relationship quiet. She had seen how Ron is, especially when woman paid any attention to Harry. They talked it over and thought it would be best to keep it secret for a minimum of a year then they would make it look like they had just began dating. Connie was Ron's superior and she was good with a wand, better than Ron. She could easily take him in a fight, if it came to that but she could also work it for Ron to lose his job if he caused trouble.

One thing Harry was going to do if his relationship with Connie ended up serious. He thought he would buy another house, they could use that house. No one would be able to just pop in on them because only he, Connie and Tim would know about the other house. When they came out to everyone, then Harry would sell the house he had shared with Ginny. He had time to worry about that. He and Connie had only been dating for two months, so they had time. But from the moment he began to have feelings for Connie, he knew Tim had been right. Harry hadn't spent any time with other girls and just made himself believed he loved Ginny, which kept him close to the Weasley family and Hermione, who was married to Ron. Now he knew he only liked Ginny as a friend.

Over the next few months, Harry and Connie became closer. Harry did work out something, he was suspicious about Hermione. He believed she may have figured out that he was seeing someone, just not who. He also believed she may have researched and worked out why Ginny had died. She would never say anything since she did know what Ron and the rest of the Weasley's tempers were like so if she did know, she wasn't going to say anything to anyone. She may talk to Harry, eventually, but she would make sure they were completely alone. He wasn't sure he was right, it was just a few looks from Hermione that made him suspicious that she knew. She would know just as Harry knew that it wasn't Harry's fault, the curse was on his blood and he had no idea about any of that. He wasn't raised in the wizarding world and he still had a lot to learn. The Weasley's wouldn't care about that, they would blame Harry.

It had been six months, it would be normal for Harry to begin dating, yet the Weasley's would never see it. They would believe Harry should still be grieving for his wife. It could be two years and the Weasley's would not like Harry dating, but he will not hide his relationship with Connie for that long.

After they had been dating for eight months, Harry spoke with Connie about sharing a home which they could keep secret. He explained his idea, they would have a home, only Tim would know. Once a year or so had passed and they let people know they were dating, they would make it seem like they waited a while longer before Connie moved in with Harry. It would be around that time Harry would sell the other house. Connie loved the idea and had been hoping Harry would want them to live together. She was in no hurry to marry, she thought she would leave that for Harry to decide.

'Harry, are you making any headway into who killed my sister?'

Harry rolled his eyes but made sure Ron didn't know. At least once a week Ron would ask.

'Nothing so far Ron. But I did tell you that if I find anything, you and the rest of your family will be told straight away.'

'Yeah, I just figured since you seem to have to best record when capturing criminals, you might have found something.'

'I do but there was nothing left, so I don't have a place to start. I even studied up on muggle finger printing and took prints from the house, again, nothing. Only all of ours were in the house along with Tim, Connie, Susan, Neville and Hannah. Apart from Hannah, we were the ones who went there to begin the investigation. Hannah had only been there when she began dating Neville and they came to dinner. I interviewed people in the area, no one saw anyone other than us. There is just nothing there but I won't stop looking, I told you that.'

'Yeah, you did. Alright, I wanted to ask you something that dad mentioned. Do you know if your family had any type of curse attached to your blood?'
