It was a rather rainy day as everyone in Miss Joyce's class were chatting amongst themselves regarding the arrival of the new transfer student from China.

"I wonder if the new transfer student is nice? I'm hoping she's nice" Russell had spoken to Anya as his words were met with a nod of agreement from his friend as he saw his friend beginning to speak.

"I'm sure that she'll be nice and don't forget that Nancy is a transfer student from Scotland and she turned out to be nice" Anya had spoken back to Russell in hopes of giving him ease as the pair suddenly heard the sound of the door opening to reveal Miss Joyce alongside with the new transfer student.

"Good Morning Class, Today we have a new student from China so please show her the utmost respect and kindness but without further ado, I shall allow her to introduce herself" Miss Joyce had spoken to her class as her words were followed with nods of agreement as the new student walked to the front of the class.

"Good Morning, My name is Mai, It's a pleasure to meet everyone here. My family has recently moved to America in the last week and as you can see, I hope to meet new friends and I hope to please everyone.." Mai (a young 15 year old girl with black hair that was done in a chinese niujiaotou style as she wore her uniform) had spoken to the class in a polite tone of voice as she felt a tap on her shoulder by Miss Joyce.

"You can sit next to Anya and she is right by the window" Miss Joyce had directed to Mai as the young girl walked over to where Anya was at and proceeded to sit next to her.

"Hello, My name is Anya Romanov and It's a pleasure to meet you, I hope we can become good friends someday" Anya had greeted Mai with a smile on her face as she extended her hand out for a handshake.

"Greetings, It's wonderful to meet you as well and you have such a pretty name…" Mai had spoken back to Anya as the girls gave each other a warm handshake as Mai sat next to Anya as this was seen by Miss Joyce who had a smile on her face.

"I have a feeling that Mai is gonna like it here quite a lot.." Miss Joyce had thought to herself as she proceeded to teach her class for the remainder of the morning.

*Gym*

It was officially gym class for Anya and the others as everyone was in the gym doing various activities.

"So, what is it like in China? I always wanted to visit someday since everything about it is so beautiful" Charlotte had spoken to Mai in a tone of curiosity as she waited for her response.

"It's pretty nice a few years ago but things have been pretty violent lately so that's one of the main reasons why my family immigrated here so I can have a safe and peaceful life.." Mai had spoken back in a rather sad tone of voice as she quickly felt a warm hug from Charlotte.

"I'm sorry to hear this, I hope that me and my friends are able to make your stay worth the while so you are always free to hang out with us" Charlotte had spoken to Mai as her words made the young girl smile as she nodded her head in agreement.

"Thank you, sorry for getting personal back there but I'm hoping that people could understand my background" Mai had spoken back to Charlotte as this moment made Anya smile warmly.

"If I must ask, who taught you English? You speak it quite well but I'm curious to know who is your tutor?" Anya had asked Mai in a polite tone of voice as she waited for her answer.

"Good question but I don't recall his name so I can't answer that question…" Mai had answered back as she let out a rather playful chuckle in which was followed by Anya and Charlotte doing the same thing.

"Oh yeah, Do you know where Nancy went? I was hoping she'll meet our new friend" Charlotte had asked Anya in a tone of curiosity as she pondered on the whereabouts of her friend.

"She had to use the bathroom but she'll be out quickly or at least I hope.." Anya had answered back as her words were met with a nod of understandment from Charlotte while Mai was watching everything.

"So, what kind of sports are you and Charlotte interested in? I know that baseball is pretty big in America" Mai had asked her new two friends in a tone of curiosity as she waited for her answer.

"I usually like to play Dodgeball, are you familiar with it? If not, I could explain the rules to you and maybe you can be on the blue team when we have our upcoming rematch!" Anya had answered back as her answer quickly made Mai curious about what she just heard.

"Dodgeball? I never quite heard of it, Could you care to explain what that is? That would be wonderful of you" Mai had asked Anya as she was met with her friend nodding her head in agreement.

"Sure, Dodgeball is usually where there are two teams and you must eliminate most of the teammates with a ball before the time runs out. The team with either the most people or whoever can eliminate the team will win the game! Doesn't that sound fun?" Anya had explained to Mai as this seemed to peak her interest.

"That truly sounds like a rather intense yet fun game so I would love to try it in the future!" Mai had spoken back with a cheerful smile on her face which made Anya smile back as well.

"We gotta teach you the basics and other stuff cause the other team beaten us in the last game so me, Anya, and Nancy are training extra hard so we won't lose for the next game but I have a feeling that you might just be the key to help us win" Charlotte had spoken to Mai as well as those words made her smile with confidence.

"Y-You really think so? If that's the case then I would love to join everyone for the next game of Dodgeball! I hope to please everyone for the big day" Mai had spoken back in a rather more energetic tone of voice as the girls shared a moment of joy together as this was being watched by Russell who was playing basketball with the other guys.

"I'm glad that Mai was able to get along with Anya and the others…" Russell had thought to himself with a smile on his face as he continued with his game.

"Say, wanna practice tomorrow if it doesn't rain? I think me, you, Anya, and Nancy would make the perfect team" Charlotte had spoken to Mai as her words quickly made her nod her head in agreement.

"Sure! That would prove to be wonderful…" Mai had spoken back to Charlotte as she felt her lonely heart quickly becoming filled with love and kindness from her new friends as she knew that her new life in America might prove to be good as she smiled warmly at her new friends.
