Chapter seven

That weekend, Harry and Connie went to the vault where all the furniture along with anything Ginny had was stored. Connie was going to search through things like makeup and hygiene products while Harry went through the cupboards.

It was nearly an hour later that Connie saw a potion bottle, 'I found something.'

Harry turned and saw the potion, 'Can you identify it?'

'No but didn't you say that the twins made their own love potion?'

'Yes, they did and I saw Ginny looking at them not long after they opened their shop. It was one that would wear off in a day.'

'Were you ever away from Ginny for a day or longer?'

'After the war, no, I wasn't. I stayed at the Burrow after we left Hogwarts. We went together to buy the house then did the same when buying everything for it. I think the longest I was away from her was when she trained, so eight to ten hours at most.'

'Then it could be that one and she just kept giving to you. We'll get it to Tim then he can take it to a healer. It would be best if you don't handle it.'

'I won't.'

Once Connie spoke with her boss using the fireplace, he came straight away to get the potion. It was all written down and a photograph was taken, now it shows it was done officially. But he did add that he was with Connie and Harry when they went through everything. He would wait for the healer to give him the results before he would work on the official auror file of Ginny Potter.

It was Monday morning when Harry arrived at the auror office and sat at his desk that he saw a note that made him tense. He looked at Neville who nodded. Harry nodded back.

Hermione said it's time, now Harry had to work on getting Ron alone so he could cast the spell.

'Harry, it was confirmed. I've officially added it to the file. We can finally close the case. I would like you to take over here while I let them know.'

'You're not going alone, are you?'

'No, Connie and Neville will be with me but the minister thought he should pay a visit at the same time.'

'That makes me feel better. Alright but can I speak with you about something before you leave?'

'Come in to my office.'

Harry followed Tim into the office, 'She said it's time.'

'Okay, I'll cast it. It won't look unusual for us to have our wands. I just need a clear shot at him. I would suggest you do it but it would look suspicious if you me and Connie left this office. Don't worry, it'll be done. If it's only Molly and Ron at the house, it will be easy. Wait until we get back then go to lunch with Neville, she's bound to join you.'

'Okay but what are you going to tell them is the reason?'

'The curse in the Prewett line will cause the death of the one who uses potions on others without their consent or knowledge. It doesn't happen straight away, it usually takes up to a year before the curse will kick in. I don't need to say what type of potion. The healer I spoke with said he had researched things like curses on a bloodline. Cheating is one, trying to prevent having children is another popular one. Love potions is another and one of the most popular ones. I have worked on a fake record of the curse so it will look like it came from a very old and rare book. I will be explaining that I had someone, I won't name the person, research blood line curses. I will ever mention that it was Ron that gave me the idea when he mentioned it to you.'

'Alright, I better let you get this done. Hermione would be here at her office right now so I know she's safe. He might hurt Hermione if he tries to want things like their house.'

'I'll make him believe he wanted to return home to his mother's cooking.'

Even though it was a serious situation, Harry laughed because Ron would stay at the Burrow just for the food his mother made.

Harry watched his boss, watched his friend and watched the woman he loved leave the auror office. All the other aurors watched the three leave as well. They had seen how angry Ron could get, so they couldn't blame their boss for taking two other aurors with him.

'It's all good, let's get back to work. Susan, did you find Fletcher?'

'He's not in his usual haunts but I've got a few leads that I'm going to check out early tomorrow morning. I figured if I go around four in the morning, he won't be expecting someone to turn up so he won't be able to escape.'

'Good idea, just be careful. He's not that good with a wand but we all know people can get lucky.'

Even though the aurors were working, everyone was tense. They just hoped Ron didn't get angry and hurt Tim, Connie or Neville.

It was nearly an hour later before the three of them walked in. Tim gave Harry a nod to let him know he had used the spell on Ron.

'You lot head to lunch, I'm staying here to catch up on some of my work.'

Even though Harry and Connie were together, they just walked with the other aurors down to the dining room. Harry greeted Hermione, like he usually did.

'It's done, Tim did it since he had to explain that the case was finally closed. It was the Prewett curse which was caused by giving someone a potion without their consent or knowledge.'

'So if Molly knew, then she could end up angry at herself, one being a Prewett and two, for giving Ginny the idea to use a love potion on you.'

'Right, now it's your turn. It'll take a week or two before you might begin to feel any different.'

'Since you told me, I'm convinced. I love him yet I don't want to. All we did was fight and he always put me down. I used to get so angry with him then I began to spend more time with him than you. It started right after the yule ball.'

'He finally saw other boys taking an interest in you. He never thought any boy would be interested in you so he was going to take his time. The moment he saw you walk in with Viktor, I noticed the look on his face. It wasn't just that you were with Viktor, it was also how you looked. Everyone noticed how beautiful you were and many girls were jealous. It was the boys and how they looked at you that got Ron's attention. Anyway, it's done and Tim was going to make sure you have the house. You should do the fidelius straight away in case Molly or any of the others try to say Ron should have it.'

'I will after he tells me it's over, which should be tonight. Let's just have lunch since we have to get back to work.'

The moment Ron left the house, Hermione sagged in relief. Once she got herself together, she cast the fidelius charm making herself as secret keeper. She only decided to use herself because her and Ron had spoken about the fidelius charm and Hermione said she would like Harry to be the secret keeper. Harry was the most powerful wizard alive so it would be impossible to force him to reveal the secret to anyone, especially since he could fight off the imperius curse. Hermione and Ron did throw around names at first. Ron wanted his mother, then his father, then brothers. Hermione never did change her mind and ended up making a good argument about Harry. Finally Ron agreed. They never did the fidelius charm mainly because it was safe. Now she used it but changed secret keepers from Harry to herself. She sent her owl off to Harry with a permission note for him, but also for all the aurors. It was just a precaution in case Bill somehow broke through the fidelius charm. Molly would push for Ron to have the house. Now only the aurors could get in. If Bill was going to break through the charm, it would take him anywhere from twenty to thirty minutes. Hermione would have already contacted Harry in that time so him and other aurors would be there before anyone got inside.

It was only a month after Hermione and Ron officially separated that Fleur and Victoire disappeared. Bill was notified by the French ministry that Fleur had filed for divorce due to Bill's temper, she was worried about her well being along with their daughters. The French ministry had granted Fleur full and sole custody after seeing memories of bill's temper. The Weasley's were furious but they knew there was nothing they could do, especially in another country and Fleur's father was the minister for magic.

Harry and Connie had all their plans for their wedding done. They decided to put an announcement in all the papers a week after the two year mark that Ginny died. They knew it would give them both a lot of attention but neither of them were concerned. They were only worried about the Weasley's. They weren't really worried, since they knew the information on how Ginny died could be released if they wanted to cause trouble for Harry or Connie.

From the moment the Weasley's, apart from George, found out that Harry was marrying, they wanted to stop it. They all heard from almost everyone that it's been enough time and Harry needed to move on with his life. There were so many messages printed in the papers all congratulating Harry and all said the same thing. He had to move on and he finally found someone to share his life with and one day give the saviour some children. The Weasley's did finally realise that no one would support them if they tried to force Harry to cancel his wedding. They also realised that the woman he was marrying had been the deputy head auror until Harry was named. Connie only left the aurors now she was getting married and wanted to start a family. Having Harry and Connie who were the two most powerful aurors, apart from Tim, the Weasley's would not be able to take them down. It was Arthur who finally said it's time to forget that Harry was part of their family. He was about to start a new life with a new woman and he had grieved long enough. No one would support them, everyone would support Harry. It was time to let it go. They might never stop hoping Tim had been wrong and someone had caused Ginny's death, but he had not found anything and Arthur believed it might be time to finally accept the truth about why his daughter had died.

Harry and Connie had a small private ceremony with only a dozen people invited. None of the Weasley's were. Harry didn't think it was the right thing to do now he would not be involved with the Weasley family. He also knew that they would not want to see Harry marry another woman.

Harry was still close to Luna even if they didn't see each other very often. She was the one that took the wedding pictures and with Harry and Connie's permission, released a few along with another statement in the quibbler. That edition would end up a collector's item.

Harry and Connie ended up having four children, all two years apart. By the time his last child was born, Tim had decided to retire so Harry became head auror and named Susan bones as deputy. Harry also got to train all the new recruits, which is something he loved doing.

Hermione stayed single for nearly ten years before she ended up marrying Justin Finch-Fletchley. They went on to have two children before they hired a nanny so both could go back to work. Hermione ended up the first muggleborn minister for magic.

George did end up opening the shop again, with the help of his wife Angelina. Many of their friends would help out until George could hire staff. George and Angelina ended up having four children. Their first born was a boy that they named Fred.

By the time Harry was ready to retire from the auror office, he and Connie were offered teaching positions at Hogwarts. Since their children had finished their schooling, Harry and Connie accepted the offer. Harry became the defence against the dark arts teacher and Connie took over as the charms teacher when Filius Flitwick said it was time to retire.

As Harry sat at the staff table the first night he had returned to Hogwarts, he reflected on his life. First with the Dursley's, then at Hogwarts. He married, got a job and thought his life couldn't get better. But now, as he glanced at his wife, he knew he had been content. Now he had everything he ever hoped for.

The end:
