Prologue
(In the distance, a tall oak tree stood. Stuck to the tree is a wanted poster.
The picture on the poster shows a girl, with dark hair, bright eyes, and fair skin.
The camera zooms in on the poster, showing off the girl's rosy complexion, a spotted mask around her eyes. Under the picture, the name Ladybug is written in cursive ink.)
Marinette: This is the story of how I died… Don't me wrong, this is actually a fun story. The truth is, it's not really mine. This is the story about a boy, named Adrien, and it starts with the sun… and a peacock. One day, a peacock flew too close to the sun. It burned away, leaving a single golden feather behind. The feather dropped to the ground, and fused with the earth, growing into a magic golden feather flower. It had the power to heal the sick, injured, or aged.
(The golden feather dropped to the ground and fused into the soil. In a matter of minutes, a golden flower, with an emerald green stem, and golden petals that looked like feathers, grew and a radiant glow surrounded it.)
(An old hag wearing a black hoodie walks out from behind a bush, her eyes widen at the sight of the golden feather flower. She walks towards it, the flower's golden glow reflecting in her eyes)
Marinette: Ah, you might want to remember that woman, she is gonna be important.
(The camera zooms out, showing the island where the golden flower is located. Time elapses, and a kingdom is built on the island)
Marinette: Years passed, and a kingdom grew on the very island of the golden flower. The kingdom was ruled by a lovely royal family, King Gabriel and Queen Emilia Agreste.
(The camera zooms in at a portrait of the royal couple, standing proudly. The camera shifts to the right, showing the couple's bedroom. In the bed lay a pregnant Emilia, groaning in pain. Gabriel sat beside her, grasping her hand in his hands, a worried look in his eyes. The royal guards surrounded the bed, each holding a metal spear. The family doctor stood near the King, medical bag in his hand, his head hung in sorrow.)
Marinette: The Queen, well she was about to produce an heir, but she got sick, really sick, with scarlet fever. She was running out of time, and everyone searched for a miracle... or in this case, the magic golden flower.
(A search party of guards are wondering through the woods, each carrying a lantern to light their way through the dark woods)
(The same old hag from earlier appeared. She slowly lifted an upside down basket. Under the basket was the magic golden feather flower. The old hag looked around making sure no one was around. She then lifted her hood, revealing long curly grey hair and a pale face full of wrinkles. She waved her hands around the flower)
Marinette: Ah, I told you she would be important. You see, instead of sharing the flower's gift, this woman, Mother Natalie, used the flower to keep her young and living for thousands of years. All she had to do was sing a certain song.
Mother Natalie: (in a raspy voice) "Feather, gleam and glow, let your power fly, make the clock reverse, bring back what once was mine, what once was mine."
(As she sang the last word, she brought up her hands to her face, making herself young and beautiful, her grey hair changed to a healthy dark blue color)
(The voices of the search party guards can be heard in the distance. Mother Natalie quickly covered the flower with the basket and hid behind a bush. A gust of wind flew by, knocking the basket away, exposing the golden flower. In the distance, one guard noticed the bright glow and lifted his lantern to see the golden flower sitting a few feet away.)
"We found it!" the guard happily announced to the others. The guards surrounded the flower. Two guards gently pulled the flower out of the ground, making sure the roots stayed attached to the plant.) (Mother Natalie watched the scene unfold, glaring as the guards took her precious plant away)
(Scene change)
(The doctor places the flower in a bowl of water. The golden healing magic from the plant transfers into the water, leaving the plant now withered and brown.)
Marinette: The magic from the golden flower healed Queen Emilia.
(The doctor held the bowl filled with golden magic water up to Emilia's lips. Emilia took a few sips, her fever instantly cured. King Gabriel smiled at his queen, relieved that his future son would be okay.)
Marinette: A healthy baby boy, a prince was born. With wavy golden hair and emerald green eyes.
(The King and Queen stood proudly over their baby's crib. Emilia reached down and picked up her son. The baby babbled happily and giggled as Emilia rubbed her nose against his. Gabriel held out a golden crown with black jewels and placed it on his son's head.)
Marinette: I'll give you a hint… that's Adrien. To celebrate his birth, the King and Queen lit a lantern into the sky.
(Gabriel struck a match and put it inside the lantern. He lifted the lantern to the air and let go. The lantern floated higher and higher into the starry night sky. Emilia watched, holding Adrien in her arms.)
Marinette: In that moment, everything was perfect.
(The camera cuts to the window of a nursery. The window to the nursery opened, a cold breeze flew into the room. A dark shadow walked towards the crib. In the crib lay Adrien, sleeping soundly.)
Marinette: But then, the moment ended.
Mother Natalie: "Feather, gleam and glow, let your power fly, make the clock…
(She gently grasped a strand of Adrien's golden hair. She pulled out a pair of scissors from her packet and cut the strand off. The golden strand withered and turned brown, and Mother Natalie's arm wrinkled. She gasped, as her young complexion turned old. Realizing the predicament, she picked up Adrien. As soon as she did, Adrien began to cry.)
Marinette: Mother Natalie sneaked into the castle, stole the child, and vanished without a trace. Some say, gone with the wind.
(Gabriel and Natalie ran into the nursery. To their horror, Mother Natalie turned to face them for a split second, then ran out the window and disappeared)
(The camera zooms through the kingdom, slowing down in the woods. The camera zoomed into the woods, revealing an old tower in the middle of the woods.)
Marinette: The royal guards searched everywhere, but they could not find the prince. For in the woods, in a hidden tower, Mother Natalie raised the child as her own.
Adrien: "...make the clock reverse, bring back what once was mine, what once was mine."
(Mother Natalie tenderly brushed Adrien's hair, which was now down to Adrien's knees. As Adrien, who was now a toddler, sang, his golden hair glowed, transferring magic healing energy into Mother Natalie's hands, making her young and beautiful again.)
Marinette: Mother Natalie has once again her magic feather, but this time she was determined to keep him hidden.
Adrien: (to Mother Natalie) Why can't I go outside?
Mother Natalie: The outside world is a dangerous place, filled with horrible, selfish people. You must stay here, where it is safe. Do you understand, my feather?
Adrien: Yes, Mommy.
Marinette: But the walls of the tower cannot hide everything.
(Adrien quietly walked past Mother Natalie's bedroom, who was asleep in her bed. Adrien walked up to a large window and opened it, the cool night air rushed inside. In the distance, a million golden lanterns floated in the sky. Adrien gazed up at the lanterns in awe, the lanterns' light reflecting in his emerald green eyes)
Marinette: Every year on Adrien's birthday, the king and queen lit a thousand lanterns into the sky, in hopes that one day, their lost prince would return.
(The lanterns floated next to each other, forming the words Miraculously Tangled in the night sky)
Author's Note: Hello, beautiful readers. So, I was rewatching Tangled (The movie, not the series) one weekend, and I noticed how much Rapunzel and Adrien share in common, character and appearance wise. Let's see how this crossover goes. Don't be shy to leave reviews/suggestions. Stay tuned for more, live your dreams, and have a great day.
