"Alright Izuku, we will start with something simple, fried rice." Ochako says calmly as the two enter the dorm kitchen.

"That's easy, I can already do that." Izuku replies confidently.

"Oh?" Ochako questions, "Begin then, I'll stop you when you mess up."

"You won't have to stop me." Izuku replies.

Izuku quickly moves into the kitchen and begins taking things out and preparing his tools. Unfortunately for him Ochako stopped him within the first minute.

"What are you doing?" Ochako asks as Izuku plugs in the rice cooker.

"Making rice?" Izuku replies.

"No making rice!" Ochako shouts. "This is fried rice! Fresh rice is too hot! Get leftover rice from the fridge."

Once Izuku grabs rice he moves to the closet and takes out a pan. Ochako snatches it out of his hand in seconds.

"What is this for?" Ochako asks.

"It's a frying pan, to fry rice." Izuku answers before receiving a firm chop from Ochako.

"Are you even Japanese? Use a wok!"

"Ok, I'll let you teach me." Izuku says as he grabs a large wok.

"Good, now first we prepare ingredients. Chop some spring onions while I see what else is in the fridge." Ochako instructs before walking to the fridge, looking back she shouts. "Curl those fingers! If you cut one off, you're eating it!" Causing Izuku to jump and quickly position his fingers properly.

"Looks like we have some diced peas and some carrots. Is that some leftover chicken?" Ochako mutters as she looks through the fridge.

Once she returns with her chosen ingredients, Izuku finishes chopping the spring onions.

"We didn't have any chilis?" Izuku asks.

"Nope, but that's fried rice, use what you have. Don't pre-buy ingredients." Ochako explains.

"Is it time to start cooking?" Izuku asks.

"We have been cooking, but yes, you may add oil to the wok." Ochako replies.

Izuku quickly heads to the cabinet and grabs some oil before heading to the heated wok. Ochako grabs the bottle out of his hand before he could use it though.

"Are we making a salad? Breadsticks?" Ochako asks.

"No?" Izuku answers in confusion.

"Then why did you grab olive oil?" Ochako asks.

"Does it matter?" Izuku questions

"Of course it does! Oils heat to different temperatures. Olive oil is too cold. Use peanut oil." Ochako explains.

"Peanut oil? What if someone has an allergy?" Izuku wonders.

"Sunflower oil or canola oil are acceptable, find an oil smoke point table." Ochako answers.

"Ok, what goes first?" Izuku asks.

"First, hold the wok properly. Grab it in one hand and give it a few tosses to move the oil around." Ochako explains with Izuku promptly following instructions. "Remember that this all goes fast, so keep it moving. Add the egg first and fry it properly, should only take a minute at this temperature. Flip it with the wok."

"Alright, this is more work than I thought, do you cheat with your quirk?" Izuku asks.

"Of course I do." Ochako answers. "Now add the chicken. Once that's cooked spring onions and then the rice and other vegetables."

Izuku doesn't waste time and within a few minutes he's tossing cooked ingredients.

"Now add soy sauce and msg to taste." Ochako instructs.

"To taste?" Izuku asks.

"How much you like. Flavor is subjective after all." Ochako explains and with a whirl Izuku adds a small amount of msg but a more noticeable amount of soy sauce.

"Good." Ochako says, "Now serve up three bowls while I fetch Eri."

A few minutes later they all sit at the kitchen counter.

"Well, it's properly done." Ochako comments after a bite.

"Not good?" Izuku asks.

"We need to make it spicy next time." Ochako answers, "But for the ingredients we had, it's good."

"And what do you think Eri?" Izuku asks.

"Good." Eri answers before continuing to eat.

"Looks like I passed fried rice. Katsudon next?" Izuku asks.

"Not a chance, the ingredients are too expensive for a beginner. Maybe I'll let you make soup." Ochako answers.

"But that's simpler than fried rice." Izuku complains.

"You will use fresh ingredients instead of what's lying around. Most of this would have been left in the fridge to rot before being tossed." Ochako explains.

"I see." Izuku answers, remembering how frugal Ochako could be.

AN: Another random thing out of my head, I guess I will label this complete, but may add chapters over time, it's just one-shots of cooking so no real plot.

And yes, I do know how to cook, and the instructions here are valid. BUT the recipe is super cheap, things like garlic and pepper are not used. Ochako is a bad influence, but I like cooking cheap as well.
