Illness
He lied on the bed, quiet. He rarely got ill and, when he did, his illnesses were no joke. His fever rose as he lingered in the empty room, waiting for her.
He did not know when had all really started, but for some time his only obsession, his only thoughts, were her. He was now hopelessly waiting for her to appear, to tell him everything was alright and that he didn't need to worry. He wanted to feel her hands smoothly caress his face. He would have cried her name if only he had any string of voice left.
The door opened. His eyes glittered with happiness as soon as they met the aquamarine irises that had just entered the room. It was her.
Her face was contorted in what seemed an expression of both joy and angst. Her movements were paused, and she was carrying a bowl with water and a towel. It seemed to him that her golden hair was the only light in the room. No words were needed. Their eyes, his and her, spoke for them.
She kneeled and watered the piece of cloth which was meant to be on his forehead. Before she could react, his upper limbs grabbed her in the most pleasant hug she had ever known, the most pleasant hug she had ever felt. His right arm felt a bit heavier than his left arm. Her hands dropped the half-dry towel to hug him back. Both their chests were about to explode, but they remained as they were, drowned in the torrent of love that embraced them.
His face came closer to her ear. "Thank you… for always being here…" The words simply had come out. She felt her lips comb into a smile. "I'll always be here… for you"
None of them wanted to break the spells, none of them dared to try, for they knew that if they did, they would hardly ever feel it again. They loved each other and they were finally showing it.
oOo
"How is he doing?" The voice echoed through and from the hollow armor that sat next to the door where his brother was. She smiled.
"He couldn't feel better"

How did I come to write this? Dunno, really... But I must say I am glad that I did... In case you didn't notice, it's Ed and Winry the ones at the room
