The Aftermath

She had been living in her rehearsal space for the past three weeks. Every night she would cry into her pillow. And often she couldn't sleep because her pillow was too drenched. She wasn't mad, she could never be mad at Tommy.

But she couldn't go back to him.

I was thinking one day.

About how it could have been,

How it should have been.

How we could have been happy.

We could go places together,

I'd get to know your pappy.

She was afraid he was happy she left. If that makes any logical sense. She was pretty much afraid he wouldn't love her like he used to. He wouldn't hold her in his arms like he used to. Because he regretted his mistakes.

She was afraid he regretted her.

If love is a battlefield

I'm in the line of fire

Every bullet leaving me

With less regret

And more desire

She heard the door open. But she didn't dare turn around.

She felt his hand on her shoulder.

His tears falling on her hair.

In one quick motion she stood and folded herself into Tommy's arms.

He buried his face in her neck, her hair.

She let a small sob escape her throat.

"I didn't think you would come."

He pulled away slightly and smiled tenderly, he put a hand to her cheek, "For you, I will always be here Jude. I will always come back to you. I will always love you Jude."

She let another sob escape her lips as she closed the gap between herself and Tommy. She wrapped her arms around her shoulders and brought her chin to his left shoulder, he kissed her hair and held her close.

Not every girl gets her happy ending

But I don't mind spending my time

No I don't mind spending my life

With you

The rehearsal space was closed up. The couple walked down the street hand in hand, and several spectators stopped to watch the tear stained faces stop in front of a coffee shop and look into each other's eyes before embracing tightly and walking on.

"Why is everybody staring Tommy?" Jude whispered.

Tommy chuckled and took Jude's hand; he turned her to face him.

"There will always be people staring. But I'll always be here to return the glare."

Jude smiled and tenderly kissed his lips, and then they walked on.

I hope you enjoyed it! R&R Please and thanks again for reading this and The Game!
