Author's Notes: That Casagrandes finale was... something alright, glad to see that Bobby is growing towards independence (...Slowly) and HOLY DUCK ROSA IS CRAZY!

Joni C69: Not really, to my knowledge, Ronnie does have new male friends in her group like Sameer, Casey and Laird but she doesn't show interest towards any of them, I would agree that part of her development took away some of her original personality and made her a "Lincoln 2" of sorts, but she still came off as an overall better character than she was before The Casagrandes.

Chapter 64: Chemistry.

- Don't worry Linky, if she wasn't the one, i'm sure that there are lots of people that want to be friends with you! - Lola calmingly encouraged the crestfallen boy by her side, hugging his arm in a sign of deep comfort.

Lincoln was still looking at the chat window that he had with Ronnie Anne, seeing message after message of his, all ignored, all unanswered, not a single reply by the girl who made a promise to him to remain closer, It was almost as if everything that happened at Lori's wedding had been nothing but an illusion.

Worse, he was pretty certain that even before the wedding, had he wanted to communicate to Ronnie Anne, he would have done so easily, and yet…

Did she realize how desperate he was for a friend?

Did he say something wrong in the end?

(Did she find out?)

All were important questions to take in mind, the albino let out a big, disappointed sigh.

This was the 3rd week since they saw each other, they celebrated new years as a whole family, everyone was having a good time, he even saw people like Lisa and Lucy getting along with the Casagrandes, he doesn't know if at any point the Louds might have done something to upset them.

But it didn't seem like so, Lori and Bobby are finally fulfilling their dreams and living together, they apparently had a blast at their Honeymoon, both families said goodbye properly, and everything seemed to be fine when they returned back home.

So why was Ronnie Anne doing this to him?

He just wanted a friend, the others were a lost cause, even Clyde, he refused eye contact with him at school, he was also ignoring his messages, he even straight off ignored his presence that one time he tried to approach the table…

Now it was for real, he only had her, he finally turned around to acknowledge her comment.

- Yeah… I guess you're right Lols, we might meet better people in the future… or not, and that's also ok - He watched her with certain bedroom eyes, surprising her by enveloping her in a hug - I have you, that's all that matters~ - He whispered to her ear, making her shudder.

- Linky… - Lola replied with apparent thirst, the hour was about 10:00PM, they were currently locked in Lincoln's room, nobody was coming, nobody would come, because nobody cared about them anymore, and even Lucy had been strangely radio silent about both of them, so they pretty much knew that they could do what they wanted, she was more than ready to please her precious knight.

- How about we update the story? - Out of a sudden, Lincoln reminded his girlfriend of their little "project", this caught her by surprise, completely unaware that he could also have the initiative to write every once in a while.

While not exactly what she had in mind, she just couldn't complain, her favorite activity with her favorite person in the whole world?

- You got it! - Lola replied excitedly, which was followed by Lincoln retrieving the notebook from his usual nightstand.

He began writing.

Into the story:

"The description of the cave was left entirely ambiguous by that slime, searching through every single hollow rocky formation in the land would probably take them a lifetime, Sir Triton was fully aware of the gargantuan labor ahead, but now they had an advantage, his companion had proven to be quite versed in the arts of magic and alchemy, she had somehow developed a "sixth sense" to track the location of the remaining diamonds, and it was through a long scanning of their surroundings that they managed to track a few footsteps leading them away from the confines of the great city of Aesir, right into a dangerous passage covered in dense woods, Princess DeLola was still using her heightened senses to detect the heat emanating from the many footsteps of careless passengers driven by the legend of the diamond, he was hopeful that in just a matter of time, the clunky radar would trigger, revealing the location of the legendary gem.

There was one problem though, his efforts to retrieve Sir Ferdinand from the space-time rift required him to utilize all of his contacts from the command center, which earned him a "misconduct" notification that didn't go unnoticed by the moral and ethical committee of the Galactic federation, all functions of his suits were deactivated remotely, his status as a "Captain" was also completely revoked, leaving him as just a simple explorer stranded on a planet, and most importantly: He was no longer in charge of the mission to save and retrieve the lost cruise of sergeant Cloud McStrife, all communication and status of his current mission were deleted, he was no longer a part of the Galactic federation, which was followed by the fallout of many of his crew mates and even his communication with the Evil Witch Priscella.

As a result, he had to undergo an intense training, to provide him with enough physical endurance and strength to carry on with this mission, everything that would be necessary to protect and assist the beautiful princess besides him.

Their adventure would continue, no matter what, they were now slowly gaining visibility on their path, the dense vegetation had disappeared to reveal the hollow depths of a vast canyon filled with pointy, eroded rocks, which only became sharper as they continued their descent to the bottom of said canyon.

The duo had finally reached the bottom, narrowly avoiding a deadly fall thanks to the captain's harness and rope, but as soon as they did, a weird chemical began to envelop them, causing an "increased need" for the knight to embrace his princess; he fought through the temptation, advancing towards the supposed cave while holding the princess's hand"

Back in the real world:

- So you're saying that I'm the OP one now? - Lola caught on to the narrative, and used that information to tease her boyfriend.

- Pretty much - Lincoln replied with a genuine smile.

- And what is that about the "chemical" that makes you want to be closer to me? - Lola got closer to Lincoln as she retained her half-lidded, alluring eyes.

- You know what diamond we're trying to get right? - Lincoln raised an eyebrow of incredulity, not at all rejecting her advances.

- Is there a problem if you allow that "chemical" to overpower you?~- Lola got even closer to her brother, placing a digit on his well defined chest, testing his resolve.

- Well of course, they're trying to get to the diamond, no distractions - Lincoln began sweating, as his girlfriend retained her relentless approach.

- Too bad, Linky, that "chemical" is defeating me… I guess I'll write my part, later~ - Lola officially gave up on trying to come up with anything for the story for that day, all she could focus on was the handsome boy in front of her.

- Remember what we talked about? - Lincoln, however, tried to retain a little composure, he still had a little more responsibility on the matter.

- Always ready! - Lola simply retrieved the condom from her pocket, there were no further interruptions.

The notebook was simply discarded, she pounced on her boyfriend like a wild predator.

- Lisa, I know you don't approve on this, but this is just… - Lucy was at a loss of words on what to say, as she had just finished reading the abstract of the scientist's newly published paper:

"Loud, L. et al. (2021). ¿A revolution in transcriptomics? Novel tissue-targeting gene drive viral vector using CRISPR-Cas9 on a localized area of the human brain to neutralize synaptic stimuli associated with love neurotransmitters. Nature Biotechnology 40, 546-554."

if her reading wasn't being interrupted time to time by the disturbing sound of a creaking bed and muffled moans in that other room, she would have been able to complain further.

- Utter nonsense, Lucy, I believe the blatant evidence showcased through this house's thin walls are more than enough reinforcement to justify taking direct action - Lisa objected vicariously while mixing the vial containing a phosphorescent red substance.

- No amount of bioethical ponderations should give you the right to take away a human's free will, you know that - Still, the goth girl attempted to defy her scientific minded sister.

- I'm not taking their free will, you seem to misunderstand the intent behind this, allow me to explain once again, sister - Lisa raised her glasses while showing a serious mood - My pioneer research in the field on gene editing and sequence targeting with CRISPR-Cas9 based technologies has allowed our team to target specific transcriptomes and change their levels of expression within a desired tissue, this, in combination with improved techniques on vector signaling and gene therapy has allowed us to design and implement any kind of gene-suppression solutions orally, we have even designed the vial for commercial viability with strawberry synthetic flavor for easier consumption -

- Don't be obtuse intentionally, Lisa - Lucy was running out of patience, her sister's technicalities could certainly get on her nerves.

- I'm not trying to, Lucy, I'm just explaining how it works - The nerdy sister continued her explanation - Further research has also allowed us to determine the exact pathways and locations on the brain associated with psycho-affective and reproductive functions, all commonly referred to as "Love", and that in turn has allowed us to track it down to the collective action of the Serotonine, Oxytocin and Phenethylamine hormones and their respective neuronal receptors -

- … - Lucy remained attentive.

- By allowing our CRISPR-Cas9 based modulator to enter the ventral-tegmental area and the caudate nucleus in the brain, we are consequentially able to restrict the expression of genes involved in the pathway signaling and synthesis of the receptors of said hormones, essentially restricting the target from those banal impulses while still remaining fully operational in all other cognitive and psychomotor properties - Lisa finished while retaining a stoic face.

- So, in other words - Lucy prepared her interpretation - You created an anti-love drug - She elicited a frown - I'll ask again, how is that ethical? -

- My team has already assessed all bioethical implications, dear sister - Lisa clarified - It is true that without the required grace period of three years for clinical tests we are not allowed to offer the vial for commercial use yet, but we have already evaluated all the risks, the product is innocuous and has no undesirable secondary effects - She continued - However, I'm not allowed to force other human beings on ingesting the vial, for it's effects are permanent, it has to be administered with specific consent from one or both of the parties -

- Then, what are you trying to do with it? - Lucy was visibly confused.

- I have the solution to a deeply rooted problem, it's their decision to use it, my personal opinion is irrelevant, but I do want to save my family - The brunette with glasses concluded.

- They will never accept that, Lisa, this experiment of yours is outlandish, and far more immoral that anything that those two are doing right now - Lucy remained livid.

- Beg to differ, Lucy, once the weight of their mistake catches on to their minds, they will be begging me for it, then i'll happily deliver it - Lisa remarked confidently.

- Very well, you still fail to understand how humans work, sister, you need to grow up more, away from a computer screen and a microscope - Lucy replied for one last time, before going outside and advising Lily (with headphones on) and Todd to return to the scientist's room, then quietly enclosing herself in the dark confinements of her room.

She had one last mission to help the pair.
