So, I've actually got a plan for this piece of shit fanfic now.
During the writing of J.A.H.Z, I was just winging it. I didn't really care that much for the writing or the story, it was essentially just one big elaborate shit-post. The reason being, is because it was literally the first time I've written a story longer than two or three paragraphs. But, I'm gonna take this thing a bit more seriously now, while still having enough room to have fun with it, and still allowing some really weird stuff to happen.
Here's the plan.
Characterization - I'm going to make full on documents on each character in the story, their past, personality, and goals, along with reasons for all three. This is so I can accurately depict each character consistently, without having them devolve into a jumbled mess of actions and thoughts, which is surprisingly common in alot of fanfics I've read.
Plot - I'm going to write some basic plot for each chapter and actually plan ahead, instead of just winging it, like I usually do. This is going to let me break down and simplify entire events, and let me loosely tie them together in a way where something interesting and/or unplanned can still happen. I'm not going to take this too seriously, it's just a story I'm making for fun anyway.
Setting - This fic is going to take place during the start of Volume 2, and would explore locations other than Vale. We're going to be visiting all the four kingdoms, and taking trips to the Frontiers, Oceans, Menagerie and even the Grimm Lands. This is because, I think that new, interesting environments, with their own way of work, would add some nice spice to things.
Pacing - Sheesh! this is going to be a doozy. I don't have much patience, and this might affect the way things are written. Alot of the time, events might move on too fast due to my impatience, or too slow due to over-thinking on my impatience. Regardless of this, I'm going to be thinking on how long certain chapters should take in in-universe time. This should give us some immersion in the story and give some weight in the events. Give that good 'ol texture to the text.
Power System - Yeah. We're going there. The way Aura works, and the general mechanics of semblances, dust, and magic, don't make a lick of sense. It's ok to have a soft "magic" system for certain stories, but RWBY uses hard "magic". Which means that all the fantastical elements of the setting actually cause lasting effects on the world it's based in. For RWBY's system to be so loose, vague and prone to easy change, that's really bad. So, I'm going to work on how to make Aura, Dust, and Magic work in ways that actually make sense. It's not going to end up like rocket science, just simple rules and capabilities that are lenient enough to be used in incredibly creative ways without having to break or change them.
World Building - This gonna be fun. We're going to be exploring alot of places with Jaune. Many of those places having their own history, cultures, and politics. I'm not gonna dive deep into those histories, cultures, and politics, unless it affects Jaune in some significant way that makes sense to his character. Just the general jist of how those opinions work. I'm not going to label anything as good or bad. I would just point out their reasons, purpose, and flaws. I'm not exactly a very political person. I generally hate IRL politics because of how weird and messy things can get, but I think it would be pretty fun to play around with those concepts either way. We'll also be going into to the history of Remnant as a whole, and on how certain things came to be. Like the Faunas, for example. We'll especially get into the history between Ozma and Salem, considering their importance to the canon, and maybe a bit into the Brother Gods as well, along with the history of the Huntsmen.
Changes - There are going to be big and small changes depending on the subject of that change. Things like characters might undergo small changes for the sake of the story, but don't worry. I'm not going to be replacing the main dish, I'll simply be adding some more seasoning and different spices, if you know what I mean. Though, things like Aura, Magic, Dust, and even the way Mechashift weapons work, along with how huntsmen operate, might undergo some big changes. Lore would be receiving the biggest change from this fic considering how shallow it is in the show.
Exotics - Jaune is going to be reality hopping. Every now and then, I am going to send Jaune into a different world with different rules so he can get used to the weird and wacky. Essentially, Jaune's finna get one tapped by the GayK-47 in CS:GO until he tilts harder than the Tower of Pizza, or gets nae-nae'd by the Wither from fucking Minecraft. "WHY!?" you may ask? Because it's weird, experimental, and funny. It also gives me an excuse to flex my extensive gamer knowledge.
Purpose/Moral - ... Honestly, there is no Moral, just a Purpose. And, that purpose is not all too different from Monty's. I made this fic purely to test out hypothetical weaponry, stupid super powers, and MEGAMIND tier strats. That's it. That's literally it. I'm going to be making all of this shit, just so I can play around with fights with the side effect of turning Jaune into a fucking Giga Chad. And, the idea of a Giga Chad Jaune jumping from universe to universe, kicking gargantuan ass in the process is incredibly funny to me.
Squire - Yeah...Squire's still gonna be a thing. Without him, the story wouldn't happen. And, considering that I want to keep the characters as in character as possible, while still giving them some more personality, Jaune isn't just going to start becoming the single most strapped being on Remnant, now is he. He needs a reason, a really good reason, and a ton of..."motivation". He's not gonna learn how to use guns and explosive on his own, he's not gonna learn how to swing a sword or polearm by himself, he wouldn't be learning how to make and wear armour or gear for the right situation, he wouldn't be operating vehicles like planes and motorbikes with no idea on how to use them in the first place, and he most certainly does not have the balls or the insanity required to do a fucking decimal of the shit that I am going to have him do in this story. I also doubt he would have the power or knowledge to travel from world to world, use magic, and create the single greatest sandwich known to man.
Shipping - Yeah, Nah. I made this fic for the sake of getting people to fuck each other up, not getting people to fuck each other. Even if I do pair people together, it's purely for the sake of the story, and it making sense for their character.
Notes - Currently, I've started characterization already. I'm also going to boot up my social media at some point to see if I can garner support and followers. Maybe try to get a Youtube account for random stuff so I get enough funds to buy that goddamn hat. I might even explore other websites like AO3 or even Wattpad for more insane shit. I'm also going to be using this fanfic to write progress on my story, and maybe even have people help me if they want. I won't post any chapters until I have completely remade J.A.H.Z. And finished at least 20 chapters with at least 5,000-10,000 words each for you lot to enjoy. This may take months, but to me, it's worth it. This story's gonna allow me to practice alot of stuff at this same time, so this might be a good thing for me on the long run.
Ps: I have developed a severe caffeine addiction. I crave monster energy drinks on an almost daily basis, and the first thing I consume in the morning is 3 cups of coffee. LESS GOOOOOOOOOO
