Ch. 16

Recap Time!

Alright there's a lot going already, so let's take a look at events as they are before the clock strikes midnight!

Location #1: UA High School

After a surprise attack by the Zombie Adams, many of Dio's undead soldiers caused chaos on campus, the first group to successfully infiltrate the grounds. Despite many of their best efforts, the Heroes and Students were initially overwhelmed.

It was with the help of Will Zeppeli, Joseph Joestar (Young), Caesar Zeppeli, Lisa Lisa, Avdol, Polnareff, Gyro, and Johnny Joestar that they were able to repel most of the invaders, including Dio's Four Commanders: Page, Plant, Jones, and Bonham.

Now, as the UA Students have to deal with the grim reality that the thousands missing in the city included some of the Zombies they had to put down, they nevertheless move forward onto the streets of the city to deal with Zombies still running amok.

Location #2: Across the City

At different parts of the city, numerous Heroes were responding to the growing threat that these undead faced. But there are two major groups which serve the focus of our story.

First is the group of Kakyoin, Josuke, Old Joseph, and Giorno, tasked primarily with healing injured civilians. Any undead they encountered on their way were swiftly taken care of. However, one major detail is that one of the ladybug brooches on Giorno's clothing were missing…

The other group consisted of those who defeated Page and Plant at the gates of UA, scouting the perimeter of campus and beyond to help alleviate the amount of Zombies and Vampires on the streets. Little did they know that the stakes were about to escalate.

Location #3: Outside Joestar Agency

Outside the Agency of the newest Heroes, the group of Jotaro, Jonathan, Izuku, Bakugo, and Endeavor were taking care of the onslaught of Zombies which had appeared on their doorstep. Though it looked as if the pressure was dying down, it would spike up merely seconds later.

Luna Sacra, Chapter 1 (Will be in Italics) (Check out the chapter on my new story!)

In nomine Patris, Filii, et Spiritus Sancti

In the year 325 AD, 318 of the highest bishops across the Mediterranean gathered in the coastal city of Nicaea, for a conference called upon by Roman Emperor Constantine. The goal of the meeting was simple: to unite and solidify Christian doctrine at a time of immense division within the faith; specifically, dealing with the conflicting ideas of the Trinity.

On one side of this quarrel stood Arius from Alexandria with the idea that the Father possessed more sanctity and power than the Son. The opposition, led by Athanasius in debate, insisted on the classic idea of the Trinity: three distinct beings with homoousian (being one in the same) nature. Despite having lost this debate and having been excommunicated, Arius's ideas still were prominent long after the council.

The debate to centralize the Christian creed was based on another concern: salvation. Could priests who renounced their faith under threat of persecution be allowed to lead mass once more? The work of an Egyptian bishop named Melitius argued that this was not possible, and those who forgone salvation when they traded their spirit for their body were not worthy of preaching again. Though this was resolved at the end of the Council, the Meletians found themselves aligned with those who supported Arius, causing further strife in the Council.

After reducing the number of Arianists down to two, the other 316 signed on what is now the Nicene Creed. This was the first version of the Christian Creed which would be revised once more in another council 56 years later in Constantinople. Part of the original version of the creed reads as follows:

We believe in one God,

the Father almighty,

maker of all things visible and invisible;

And in one Lord, Jesus Christ,

the Son of God,

begotten from the Father, only-begotten,

that is, from the substance of the Father,

God from God,

light from light,

true God from true God,

begotten not made,

of one substance with the Father,

through Whom all things came into being,

things in heaven and things on earth,

Who because of us men and because of our salvation came down,

and became incarnate

and became man,

and suffered,

and rose again on the third day,

and ascended to the heavens,

and will come to judge the living and dead,

And in the Holy Spirit.

Numerous items in this world come in threes. The three rulers of the Triumvirate in the late Roman Republic, the three leaves in poison ivy, the three branches of the American government, the three Magi who travelled to Jesus upon his birth. The three sides of a triangle, a shape which can serve as the creator of more complex polygons. The Big 3 students of UA who show the most potential for becoming top Pro Heroes upon graduation, the three hands on a clock, the Three Kingdoms Period of China...I could go on, but I think a sufficient picture has been drawn.

The rampage of the Zombies remain undeterred despite all the heavy beatings of their forces by Heroes across the city. Newspaper helicopters were patrolling the air, looking to provide an angle as to what suddenly upended the evening. Undead ashes rained across as the wind blew, flowers and trees blowing with the wind as well.

It is this devotion to nature and faith that has been all but lost in today's society. These Heroes are paragons of a false system of hope that has taught people to believe merely in being saved by the prowess of the physical alone instead of in addition to the sanctity of the spiritual. With the existence of Quirks so tremendously powerful, it makes people think they can play the role of God. False idolatry to fame-hungry "saviors" who care only about their reputation has become commonplace.

Of course, achieving said idolatry is difficult enough if not given the "correct Quirk" as society deems it. The idea of Hero or Villain, saint or sinner, is assigned when one finds out their Quirk. This society is a group of heroic Meletians who will not allow admittance for those who are not worthy.

It is with this that there is bound to be a reckoning for a society which has abandoned its moral compass. And a new divine order will do exactly that. He is not an incarnation of the Trinity, but rather a Trinity of his own; on par with God, but not God himself, yet homoiousian (this meaning similar) in terms of strength.

There exists a being referred to as The Noble One. Said to have long, flowing golden hair, and covered in white from head to toe, this being is capable of ushering a massive change in the tide of society, one which will tear it to the ground before building it back up in his image. A society with The Noble One at the helm, one of permanent peace, pleasure, and possibilities. There will be no need for Heroes, Villains, law, order, chaos, or strife, for as long as one believes in The Noble One and his deeds, they will ultimately receive enlightenment and salvation from this cruel world.

In order to receive The Noble One's grace, there is a process consisting of three steps: Acknowledgement, Repentance, Salvation. I'll explain these in depth in future, but the main idea is to acknowledge your flaws and the flaws in society, and preach the philosophy to repent for your sins. Only then can you achieve salvation and enlightenment to make a better world. The first step starts with the utterance of this phrase:

"'I believe in the plan fate has in place for me, and I swear allegiance to God and to The Noble One."

Outside Joestar Agency, 11:55 PM

Punch after punch. Kick after kick. Explosion after explosion. And neither the Zombies or the Heroes outside the Agency were backing down, each determined to defeat the other. But, while the Zombies encountered a physical toll, Deku and Bakugo, like the rest of their classmates, were experiencing a rather emotional one.

"All these Zombies…" Deku was thinking, "Were people. People that couldn't be saved...forced against their will to fight…"

There was a rather vicious Zombie that was sneaking up on the young Hero without him noticing. Its teeth were rather sharp, ready to sink a bite into Deku's shoulder. He turned around but it was too late!...if it weren't for an explosion Bakugo blasted to do away with the critter.

Similarly to the Christian Trinity, The Noble One consists of three homoiousian beings. This will be seen when The Noble One makes his first appearance in what is called the Grand Entrance. On the night of the blood moon, those killed by the carelessness of Heroes shall rise from the dead and begin to take vengeance. However, these will be nothing more than the mere undead, Zombies and Vampires from one form of the Trinity. Yet these creatures will force one question to enter these Heroes' minds...

As the Zombie began to disintegrate due to the explosion, very meekly, it uttered three words, one's which sent Deku's teetering emotional seesaw off the deep end.

"Please….Help...Me…"

How can you save someone who's already died?

The shock in Midoriya's face quickly transferred into one of desperate rage.

"Jotaro!" he called out, "Is there any way we can still save these people?!"

As Star Platinum continued to deal with the Zombies that were in front of him, Jotaro was able to turn around before he spoke with the same calmness that he always had, "I'm afraid not. There's nothing we can do."

"But the Holy Corpse!" Deku yelled back, "Can't you use it like you did with Kirishima?!"

"That only worked on him because he was possessed," Jotaro responded, "It can't work on the dead, or the undead for that matter. Unfortunately, putting these creatures out of their misery is the only way we can actually save them."

"Isn't there some other way?" Endeavor chirped in.

"There isn't," Jonathan answered Endeavor's question, "Even if we were able to hold onto one of them, they would disintegrate once the Sun rose."

"So there really is no other way…" Endeavor thought as he let another belt of flames emerge from his hands, eviscerating the Zombies in front of him.

11:59 PM

The number of Zombies one by one continued to diminish, until there was none left for any of the Heroes' eyes to see. Everyone was able to breathe a sigh of slight relief.

"Hopefully the rest of them will stay in their graves," Bakugo scoffed, "I think I had my fair share of Undead tonight." Whilst his words showed callousness, his face was all but. Inside, he had the same thoughts Midoriya dared to share.

People, albeit a few of them, were beginning to walk back onto the streets, since the commotion died down. Despite all the warnings from the media and the Heroes, they could not help but feel a slight sense of relief. A brief respite, as if the eye of the hurricane had flown over after the storm. Oh, how small that eye was.

12:00 AM, Midnight

"Look!" one of the citizens yelled.

"What is that falling down from the sky?!" another pondered.

The Heroes all looked up to find that directly over their heads, an oil tanker was rapidly falling towards the ground. There was very little time for any non-Heroes to recognize it, as it was falling down fast.

Endeavor was the first to take action as his legs burned with intense heat, propelling him into the sky. As the rest of the Heroes on the ground began telling everyone to evacuate, Endeavor used his hands to shoot flames in order to possibly slow down its descent, but no amount of flame proved capable of doing so.

At most, he could create a small pocket of flames, distancing his hands from the now hot metal of the tanker truck. While temporarily effective, it was only for a short time, as the two of them continued to descend towards the ground.

Endeavor was able to land on the ground safely, and that pocket of fire grew to what looked like two pillars, although they were still small. And then…

From high in the sky, out of the vision of both civilians and Heroes, a flurry of small knives rained down upon them, and their target was the now-heated oil tanker. One by one, they poked the exterior of the tanker, whilst a few of them missed and landed nearby on the ground.

"What the?!" Bakugo yelled in surprise. As Jotaro noticed the knife on the ground his face for the first time had become stricken with fear.

One last knife, burning with white flame, finally pierced the tanker, causing the metal to rupture and the oil inside to ignite. This led to one loud

BOOM!

The tanker exploded with such a vehement force behind it, the radius broke windows and other glass in all the nearby buildings. Any civilian not already inside was either burned by the explosion or was blown far away into nearby buildings. The winds sent flowers flying and trees violently rustling, a few of them ending up unrooted. Anything that could be flammable ended up in flames. The explosion was loud and tall enough to be seen across the city.

When the dust finally settled, it looked as if the Heroes had completely evaporated from the explosion. No trace of them seemed to remain. But a few meters away, the five of them laid down on the ground, slightly bruised and clothes tattered, but in one piece.

"Everyone OK?!" Jotaro yelled out.

"Yeah!" Midoriya responded, "We're good!"

"How did we get out of that?!" Endeavor questioned, "There was no feasible way we could have survived that!"

Only Jotaro knew the answer to that question. When he saw the knife hit the ground, he knew something bad was going to happen. He activated Star Platinum's The World ability quickly to stop time. And he got lucky: 0.1 seconds after the explosion began. He had very little time available, 5 seconds to be exact. He was able to push all the Heroes directly under the explosion away from the radius, but there was only so much he could do in such short time.

4 seconds. He pushed Jonathan out of the way

3 seconds. Midoriya had been pushed away.

2 seconds. Endeavor was pushed.

1 second. Finally, Bakugo was taken away from the radius. He noticed all the people who for some reason, did not bother to move before he stopped time. Shit! He thought, I can't get to them!

0. Time resumes. As the group was pushed away, the winds were enough to send the Heroes down to the ground. Resuming to the present...

"Jotaro!" Deku called out again, "Did you use that?"

"I did…" he responded, to which the rest of the group again sighed with relief.

"My, my," A voice boomed down from the sky, "Congratulations on surviving the opening act." Fear once again gripped the hearts of the Heroes down on the ground.

From the sky, a figure clothed in black, green, and yellow began to float downward until he touched the ground. As he was doing that, his red cape was still floating in the wind, and his smile gave an intense aura. He flicked his cape, sending the nearby flames into a spiral before calmly settling around him in a circle.

"Brings back memories, doesn't it, Jotaro?" The figure's smile only grew from the dread written on nearly everyone's faces.

"I didn't think you'd show your face this early…DIO."
