Sorry for my bad English.
Hey! An update... after so long.
A hundred of apologies for that. I really need to put those stories in day. I can only promise to try upload the chapters more frequently. Since I have some free time, this will not be the only fic I will update. I just hope to not take much time to it.
Their little walk ended when they found another portal. Thinking that was an exit, Glynda did not waste time and passed through along Jaune, but once again to her surprise, she was still in Paradiso but the sky completely engulfed with stars around the dark sky.
-Wow... -Jaune could not help but exclaim.
Glynda was on the same page. Paradiso sure is beautiful and this starry sky was something out of Remnant. The constellations were so close that Glynda felt she could touch them if she reaches with her hands. Finally taking her attention away from the sky, she looks around. They are on a floating platform and ahead were more.
-It seems we will have to jump if we want to escape from this place. -Glynda stated.
-I don't think even you can make that jump. -Jaune commented looking down in the empty of the space. -And I'm afraid to discover if we fall.
Glynda had to agree with him. She still did not know how Paradiso works, and her confusion keeps getting worst by each second passing. She still had the guns she used to fight the giant angel-like ogre from before, but keep them on her back or else she would think too much about them, and she needed to focus in the task in hand.
Jaune also had the golden blades he got from his time in the golden forest which proved to be a useful weapon for him, and who knew? He has some experience with archery. When questioned by Glynda why he never tried to use this in combat, he just answered that would be a good idea, which makes Glynda roll her eyes.
After half a minute looking around, Glynda notices some transparent golden circles floating around.
-Those circles... -Glynda stated and decide to trusty in her instincts.
She took three steps back and rushed before the jump. She landed on the first circle, followed by the second, and keeps like that until she reaches the second floating island.
Turning around, she looks to Jaune, telling him with no words that she was waiting for him.
Jaunse swallowed dry before starting to warm up.
-Alright. -Jaune began stretching his arms and then, going down to some push-ups. -You will do it, Jaune. You trained a lot since the forest. -He whispered to himself as he made some sit-ups, followed by some squats.
Feeling ready, he took three steps back and began to run, and jumps. To his own surprise, he makes it. He then jumps to the next circle until he reaches his teacher.
He lands on the next floating land, very satisfied with himself. It seems that his training bearded some fruits.
Glynda did not notice her student's joyful face as she scanned her surroundings. It was an open area, with yellow grass around the concrete. Ahead there was more of those circles. She did not know where those were going to lead them, but it was their only option to follow this path.
As they began to walk, at the moment they reached the middle, they heard noises.
-That's doesn't sound good. -Jaune commented as he and Glynda turn to the source of the noises.
The noises were coming from above, where two circles formed and again, two different angels appeared.
The front of its body is a golden, winged muzzle with a human face, a shining halo, and a circular platform. At the back of this body, there is a small cabin. Several small paddles line Kinship's undersides. The front of the cabin has a red orb and a bunch of rowings on both sides.
Second Sphere Powers
Kinship
As Glynda and Jaune watched the two flying rowboats, they heard a noise that Jaune is too familiar with, the sound of missiles being launch!
Missiles came from the cabin in its cabins and launched against the two blondes.
-Definitely not good! -Jaune screamed and Glynda prepared a barrier.
The missiles connected with the barrier, exploding and raising a smokescreen around them. More missiles came but this time from the sides. Both teachers and students notice and jumped off the way, making them connect against each other and exploding.
The explosion pushed them far from their jump and they landed on their back. Glynda recovered quickly and shot her projectiles against both rowboats. She notices they were not so fast, so they were practically targets for her.
Glynda was so focused on beating the two boats that notice too late a third one appearing from behind. Turning around, she had only time to see a golden laser coming to her direction. It was when she was tackled to the ground by Jaune, who pushed her off the way of the laser.
It is not like she couldn't survive the shot, but the laser would do a number in her aura.
No words were spoken as she got back to her feet and shot more projectiles, and Jaune using the dual swords as a bow to shot against the one behind. The effects were little, but they were damaging them.
Other waves of missiles come, and Glynda did not know if her barriers could handle so much. So, she used her semblance to move a part of the ground around them, making a barricade for protection, but it would not hold for too long, she needed a plan.
Strangely enough, was not the first time Glynda had to deal with flying boats.
With that in mind, while hiding behind a barricade she raised with her semblance, she decides to use the same tactic she used before.
-I hope you don't mind do some flying, Jaune.
-I'm one of Nora Valkyrie's teammates. So I learn how to do some flying.
With the confirmation from the young boy, Glynda wraps Jaune with her semblance and throws him to the nearest Kinship. Jaune successfully reached his target and prepared both blades and prepared to strike.
It was when a claw hit the young blonde on his back, sending him flying and falling back to the island, stopping inches above the ground when Glynda used her semblance to hold him.
-It will not work with them. -Glynda stated and jumped away from another missile exploding right where she was a second ago.
Jaune was released from the invisible force holding him and rolled away to dodge the barrage of missiles aimed at him. He put himself in one knee and aimed the bow against one of the Kinships and went back to shooting.
Glynda was doing the same with the other two. Without dust, she could just rely on her semblance against the angels, trying to stir them but with no success. Both Kinships Glynda was shooting used at the same time the golden laser from before, and Glynda rolled away from them. Without dust and only using her aura, she decides to try not to use her barrier as little as possible.
All while Jaune was feeling like that archer from his childhood stories from bedtime, but was having little effect. So he starts to think in a plan, but little comes to his mind until something popped in his head. It was plain stupid, and would never work in real life, but the situation already was out of his normal, so why not give a try.
He waited for the Kinship to release another barrage of missiles to begin.
The angel shot the missiles and Jaune got ready to jump, none of his teammates would believe that he actually jump from missile to missile, slowly approaching the flying rowboat, but he did not get too much closer. He jumps higher than the Kinship and aimed the arrow right to the cabin where the missiles were being shot.
The light arrow flew, hitting the missile before it left the cabin, exploding the Kinship from inside, followed by another explosion, and another. The flying rowboat slowly sunk by the gravity as the explosions inside it keep coming.
Jaune, seeing that his plan had worked, was feeling like the king of the world.
-I'm the king of the world! -Jaune shouts but forgot a vitally important detail.
*CRASH!*
He began to fall once he shot the Kinship.
Glynda couldn't believe what she just saw. She couldn't believe that Jaune could pull such an act, much less be able to shot an arrow in such circumstances. He would probably need years of training to do such a move, which brings back the previous question to Glynda's head. How long has been since he was alone in Paradiso?
She decides to let the question to another time and focus back on the remaining angels. She saw how Jaune destroyed the first and was about to do the same thing, but both Kinships shot the golden laser at the same time, one against Glynda and the other on Jaune, who still was recovering from the fall.
Glynda wanted to spare her aura but with no choice, she raised two barriers, protecting herself and Jaune from the lasers. Her eyes widened as she saw that missiles also were coming. With one of her hands busy with the barriers, she pulled out one of the revolvers and used to destroy the missiles in midair.
Jaune recovered and decide to use the same tactic from before against the next Kinship. He waited for the missiles to come and jump in the first to the next, but as he got on the third one, a golden laser stopped his path and he found himself forced to fall back.
-It seems that the same trick will not work against them. -Glynda stated and raised her crop to hold Jaune in midair.
-I'm open to ideas. -Jaune said as his feet touch the ground.
Glynda looks to above and saw both Kinships ready for another barrage, and she remembers that she can control anything in her range, with some limitations. So as the barrage of missiles were shot against them again, Glynda waited until the missiles were in her range for her use her semblance, and threw the missiles back to the flying rowboats.
The missiles connected to the angels, exploding one by one and damaging the boats. As the smoke cleared, one of the ships shows to be completely destroyed, not able to fight anymore. This left one last boat to deal with.
As it shot a second barrage of missiles, Glynda used her semblance again to throw them back against Kinship but this time, the angel used its laser to destroy its own barrage, covering the air around with smoke.
-Cough! Cough! I should have known. -Glynda stated and coughed again.
After some more coughs, she wiped away the smoke and target Kinship once more with her projectiles, and her eyes widen seeing more halos forming on the sky, which means more angels.
At least six Affinities appeared to help Kinship.
-Just what he needed. -Jaune complained as one of the affinities who just appeared rushed after him.
He jumped out of the way as an angel with an ax flew high, and he pulled both swords to clash against one who was using a halberd.
The one who misses Jaune dive back to attack him, but Glynda caught it with her semblance and threw on another one.
She jumped off the way of one with a flail and wrapped the angel in her aura whip. She swung the angel around hitting the other two angels and threw the one in her grasp with force on the floor, cracking the ground. The Affinity she threw was still conscious but probably wished it was not, balancing its legs and trying to free itself from the ground.
Glynda ignored this one and targeted the other three.
Glynda's head darted left and right as the angels spoke their nonsense and raised their weapons to fight. They rushed after her and began their assault, and she was managing it to dodge each strike with graceful moves. She used her whip to hit the face of one, then hit the leg of the one in her left, and finally kicked the chest of the one in her front. It stumbled back and screamed in pain as two blades passed through its chest. Jaune then lifted the Affinity he stabbed and threw it away.
Kinship, what was floating around, shot another barrage of missiles. Glynda and Jaune notice the barrage coming and jumped out of the way of the explosions.
Glynda landed in her feet and immediately needed to raise her barrier to block the attack of two Affinities while Jaune was dealing with the last one.
They were unable to break the barrier and Glynda pushed her barrier away, pushing along the Affinities.
She got ready to attack them both, but the laser from Kinship passed in front of her, throwing debris and forcing her to cover her face. With her face covered, she was surprised with a sudden strike on the left side of her midsection that sends her flying away.
The hit was powerful, with a lot of strength behind it. Even with her aura, the pain instantly radiated from there to all of her body making it feel like her whole being had exploded.
She lost some air from her lungs when she hit the near wall with force enough to crack the concrete and fell face down on the concrete.
She clenched her teeth and placed a hand where she was hit while sitting up. The moment she looks to what just hit her, she gasped as she saw a white foot coming to her face.
She dodged by falling to the side, just narrowly avoiding the strike that would not kill her, but would give a number on her aura. The proof of that was the fact that the feet buried itself into the wall and making more cracks appear around the wall. It was like just a soft breeze would put the whole wall into dust.
Looking at what tried to bury her face on the concrete, Glynda saw the figure of a white woman with the top of her face covered by a green hat.
-Joy... -Glynda whispered, immediately remembering about her last encounter with this type of angel.
And she remembers how powerful they are compared to the Affinities.
She tried to raise her crop and attack Joy but something wrapped around her ankles, pulling her legs together. She looks to her legs and sees another Affinity, one that not came with the other from the halo from before, holding a whip.
This moment of distraction proved to be her mistake as Joy kicked her hand, sending her crop out of her reach.
-No! -Glynda cried and tried to reach her crop, but the Affinity with the whip pulled her closer.
Distracted once again by the angel pulling her legs, she failed to notice another Affinity diving and trapping her arms above her head, holding both her wrists with its legs. Meanwhile, the Affinity holding the whip leg go of its weapon and flew towards Glynda, holding down her knees with one of its big hands.
-No! Let me go! -She yelled and struggled against the angel but no matter how much she moved, she couldn't break free from them.
As she squirmed and struggled, Joy calmly walked forward to the blonde woman. When she got next to Glynda, she raised one of her legs while putting a hand on her head, like she was brushing away some hair.
-Oh no…
Joy stomped Glynda's stomach, followed by another on her chest, right on her collarbone. She stomped once again the blonde's stomach, and Glynda coughed for air as she could hear the Affinities laughing at her misery. The Joy's leg stomped her waist, just slightly above her womanhood.
Joy went back to stomp Glynda's body and after a couple of stomps, the huntress could taste her own blood inside her mouth. Even with her aura holding the strikes, it still hit with enough force to reach her belly. Joy stopped for a moment, looking at the woman on the ground, chuckling at her miserable state.
Joy lifted her leg high above her own head, showing that she was going to use a ton of force on her next stomp, and Glynda could only close her eyes and turn her head to the side, bracing herself for the worst.
this until someone shouts.
-Let her go! -Jaune shouts while diving against Joy with both blades prepared.
Joy quickly changed her target, took a spin, and kicked Jaune in the chest. The force was strong enough to send him flying away, and surprising Joy with the barrage of missiles coming in her direction.
Jaune just finished with the last Affinity when notices two more holding his teacher down, and a female angel standing right next to her. He was about to help Glynda when he remembers about Kinship. The boat sure would get in the way.
But what about if Kinship got in the way of the female angel?
He turned around and tried to ignore Glynda's cries of pain as Kinship prepared another barrage of missiles. Jaune then notices when the rowboat was aiming, and run towards Joy as it got ready to shot.
-Let her go! -He shouts at the same time Kinship released the missiles.
Joy shows no worry as she kicked each missile away, with a hand on her hips like was the easiest thing of the world. This time the moment of distraction was from the angels. None of them notices Glynda's eyes with a purple aura radiating from them.
When only two missiles were left, Joy sends her feet to kick the first away, only to stop in midair by a purple aura. The last missile came and collided with the one Glynda held with her semblance, exploding in front of Joy. This also caused the Affinities to let go of Glynda, who used her semblance to throw them away.
Glynda then pulled closer her crop and wrapped Joy in her aura whip. Too distracted by the explosion and by the sudden biding, Joy was not prepared when Glynda threw her on the other side of the wall, to the emptiness of Paradiso. Glynda shakily stood up but found strange not hear any scream from Joy when the angel supposes to fall.
The wall behind her was punched, and the concrete began to fall in Glynda's direction. She could only see with eyes wide open the concrete coming down to smash her body, then it happened. The wall came down on Glynda's body.
-Ms. Goodwitch! -Jaune who just recovered from the kick, could not believe in what he just saw.
Or rather he did not want to believe.
Joy came floating from behind of what once was a wall, smiling at the scene. Thinking that was over, a halo opened above her and she floated towards it.
It was when Jaune and the angels began to hear a buzzing sound. From the debris began to appear a whole group of bees.
-Bees! -Jaune shouts as the group comes at his direction.
Then the group of bees suddenly began to gather around in one point and in a blink of an eye, the bees were gone and Glynda stood right where they disappeared.
-That... was something... -Glynda stated, not knowing what just happened.
-How did you-Watch out! -Jaune tried to ask but was forced to pull her away as a green whip hit where he just was.
Joy pulled a whip and was putting to use. Jaune pulled the swords together in a bow and began to shot. Joy dodge the arrows coming to her direction and used her whip against Jaune, who was able to roll away and shot against the angel while in his knee. Except he never got the chance as Glynda, in speed compared to Ruby's, rushed after Joy.
Joy saw her coming and rushed after her, preparing to hit the huntress with a kick. The huntress responded with the same coin and both legs crossed as the kicks collided, causing a small shockwave.
Jaune was surprised to see Glynda holding Joy's leg as the blonde woman and the angel glared to each other. For a moment, Joy's attention went to Glynda's hand, seeing her holding a golden colt revolver.
They began to attack with a barrage of kicks that send the Mercury guy to shame, colliding with force, and making more shockwaves around. One Affinity tried to sneak behind Glynda and attack her but Jaune put himself between them and pushed the Affinity away.
The second one tried to attack Jaune from behind, and he rolled away and shot the Affinity with an arrow that pierced the angel through the head.
Glynda meanwhile, was still locked in the kicking contest with Joy. The angel once confident of its victory now was having difficulties to fight against the woman who could not fight without her small weapon.
It seems that turning her body into bees woke up something inside her.
Glynda sends a little stronger kick that broke Joy's kicking combo and left her open for Glynda to attack. Instead of using her crop, she used Passione, the golden colts she found earlier.
She didn't even know where she learns those moves, she just acted by instinct and used a combo of five attacks mixed with the shots of the revolvers, then she starts a barrage of attacks hitting Joy with the hold of the colts, finishing with a kick right on Joy's stomach.
This time the angel was sent flying, and towards Jaune. The blonde boy was still fighting against both Affinities when he raised one of his swords above his head and felt something just being impaled.
He looks to above and was surprised to see Joy impaled in the blade he was holding. Then he saw Glynda jumping above him and landing right in one of the Affinities' head. She began to stomp it fast, somehow pulling the trigger of the revolver in the back of her feet.
The second Affinity raised its weapon to attack her, and Glynda merely raised one of her hands and blocked the blade with the holder, then kicked the angel right in his nuts. Even Jaune covered his manhood after that.
It was when Glynda remembered about Kinship, what was just about to fight another laser. Glynda walked to the Affinity who was in its knees and grabbed it by its throat. Before Kinship shot the laser, Glynda threw the angel after the boat. The moment the laser was shot, the Affinity was already meters away from the rowboat, blocking the laser and frying the angel before exploding it.
If Kinship could show surprise, the boat would have shown when Glynda just came from the smokescreen the fried Affinity caused. She grabbed the boat and with the unexpected strength from before, pulled it down to the ground with force.
Kinship made the mistake of trying to use its missiles once again, and Glynda merely turned it upside-down. The missiles were shots but collided with the ground beneath Kinship, exploding between the rowboat and the ground, and frying the angel boat. Finally, it stopped moving.
The last Affinity knew that it had no chance of winning alone, so it tried to fly away. Glynda, without even looking, aimed her revolver against the angel and fired. The bullet hit the Affinity's back, killing it.
Jaune, once again, was left with his mouth wide open with what his teacher could do while using those revolvers, and wondered why Glynda did not fight using them.
All while Glynda was asking herself how she managed to use those revolvers, and turn her body in multiple bees.
-Miss Goodwitch? -She heard a voice calling for her.
When she turns around, she is greeted by the vision of a man in white robes with golden accents of the sun. She could not see his face with the golden mask covering it from the chin to his hair.
He called her again, only to this time, after she blinks, she sees Jaune standing in front of her.
-I-I'm sorry Mr. Arc. Did you say something?
-I was asking if you are alright? I mean, those stomps seem to hurt a lot.
Yeah, they did hurt. However, Glynda is not surprised that she is able to stand after received this type of damage. But she doubts that something will surprise her more than she already is.
Looking around, she saw the carcass of their enemies. Jaune left Joy behind on the ground with the angel's blood dripping on the ground. Kinship was now like a war boat that received a shower of firepower. Then there was the Affinity that still was stuck in the ground. It was when Glynda remembers something that Rodin said.
She pulled the sack the bartender gave to her and prepared to get his payment. Now, she just needs to discover how to put Kinship inside of the sack.
Unicorn would always be happy to stay away from the academy, giving her relationship with the staff, specially Glynda.
But she did not expect to be transported to another place in a blink of an eye. The gold meadow was a nice view though.
However, her forced trip to Paradiso would not be so calm, as she expected. She heard something big just land behind her, and the girl turns around to see a very squared green ball that she knew was not there before.
End of the chapter.
I think I will keep hitting the bushes for just one more chapter before cleaning somethings regarding what is happening to Glynda, and about Jaune and Unicorn as well.
I also made an fic around Glynda and Unicorn, not crossovers, just them both and the staff of the academy, but more focused on the teacher and student.
What about give a look?
Also, I will have to upload more stories before keep with this one. So I ask you to wait patiently as I do my best to not take so much time before the next upload and pray with me for those not be words throw on the wind.
See you next time.
