Chapter 4: Stopping the Crooks
"What do we do?" asked Harvey. "I've got some ideas dude," Fee said as she whispered her ideas to Harvey and Foo. Foo giggled at the idea but Harvey was unsure. "You sure this will work?" he asked. "Trust me, it'll work," Fee replied.
In the stores, many of the crooks went in through the back so they wouldn't make it apparent that the stores were robbed. "Merry Christmas Darryl," the Cardinal said to himself as he opened up a register filled with cash and coins. "Happy Hanukkah Chris" the Albino Skunk said to himself as he opened up a box filled with cash. The crooks were busy taking all the cash they could, a little too busy in fact. They weren't paying attention to their surroundings very well which was good for Fee's plans.
As all the crooks finished up what they were doing, the found themselves trapped within the stores they were in. "Yo! I can't open this door man!" Darryl barked. "What is going on?!" yelled Chris, "Why is the door all of a sudden jammed?!" What they didn't know was Fee had barricaded the doors to the back of the stores. "Now time for step 2," Fee said as she stared at the vehicles.
Darryl, Chris, and the rest of the crooks were by this point in panic mode and were willing to do anything to get back to their vehicles. They decided the only way they were getting out is if they were smashing the front windows to get back to their vehicles, even if they weren't intending on it. As long as they got out was their only concern. They smashed the windows open and ran like the wind to their cars.
When they got there though, something didn't feel right. They saw 3 snowmen right beside their cars. "Was that always there?" asked one of the crooks. "I don't know but let's get out of here before someone sees us," said another. Just then, the snowmen broke apart revealing Harvey, Fee, and Foo holding a bunch of snowballs. "Who are these dang kids?" asked Chris, "Did they know about us the whole time?!" Some of the crooks got ambushed by the snowballs. The rest of crooks rushed to their vehicles wiping snow off their faces and clothes. They didn't know Fee had slashed their car's tires using a very sharp icicle nearby.
The 1st car ended up reversing to avoid crashing into the other two up front but because the driver of the vehicle was in such a panic, it ended up crashing into a fire hydrant and flipping onto it's side. Both the 2nd and 3rd vehicles were getting away just fine until the 2nd vehicle had troubles. It began to go slower and slower due to it's flat tires. The car eventually stopped in just a matter of a minute. The crooks got out and wanted to push the car back to base but Harvey and the twins caught up with them and began to throw snowballs at them. Harvey soon lost interest and narrowed his eyes at the vehicle still getting away which had Darryl and Chris in it.
Darryl and Chris soon found themselves experiencing the same issues as the 2nd vehicle. "COME ON!" Chris yelled. Their car began to go slower and slower. "Careful man," Darryl said, "If you ain't payin attention, we might-" Their car went over a slippery spot which caused them to go off the road, down a slope, and crash into a big snow pile.
Harvey saw what had happened and caught up to them. By the time he arrived though, the doors were open and they seemed to have already escaped. He saw footprints but it quickly ended at a river being really close by. All the Bluebird could do is wonder how they could have gotten away.
Before long, a bucket truck to fix the power lines arrived as well as Officer Fredd. Upon seeing the crooks, he called in for a van to take away the remaining crooks after he handcuffed them and potentially Ba-Zapped them. They all were taken away soon after.
Harvey, Fee, and Foo told about what happened and the two who got away as well as a description of what they looked like. Although Officer Fredd wasn't too keen on what Fee did, as well as what the 3 did to stop the crooks as it was dangerous intervening with a group they had no prior knowledge to but in the end, he just kinda let it slide as they were just trying to do good. "A little surprised it wasn't those silly squirrels," Foo said. "They're in France for the holidays Foo," replied Fee. Just then, the clock struck midnight, meaning it was officially Christmas!
