The man who opened the door was The Flying Vulture guy, but he wasn't in the suit and wings. Peter knew this because part of the Vulture's helmet came off and the hole was big enough for Peter to make out a face.
"You must be Peter?" The old man asked Peter.
Peter stood there before saying, "Y-Yeah."
"I'm Liz's dad, Adrian Toomes. Put it there." He introduced himself and pulled out his hand to shake it.
Peter followed suit and shook Adrain's hand.
"Hell of a grip," Liz's dad commented before turning his attention to Ben. "I don't think Liz mentioned a threesome."
Ben chuckled at his joke. "Name's Ben Reilly and-"
"He's-s a friend of mine and he just walked me to your d-doors for moral support. My Aunt will be d-driving him to the dance." Peter lied.
Ben was about to interject, but Peter gave him a look that told him 'just do it, I'll explain later'. Ben shrugged in confusion and told Liz's dad, "Have a good night, sir."
"You too, son," Adrian told Ben and went back to Peter. "Don't just stand there, come on in."
Peter followed him into his house.
Back in the car, May was staring, while Ben was confused that Peter and Liz's dad was going inside and muttered, "Maybe he's dumping her at the dance?" Ben suggested.
"That's him," May whispered.
"Who?" Ben asked, not hearing what he said.
"The Vulture's crew is people who were rebuilding the damages from The Battle of New York. He was their boss at that time."
Ben was somewhat surprised, but cautiously asked, "You don't think he's The Birdman, do you?"
"It would explain why Vulture's crew are the same people from that construction site."
Ben felt like it made sense and told her, "Peter told us to meet him at the dance."
May nodded and drove away from the house.
Back with Peter, he was in a well-furnished house.
A woman came in. The two young men guessed that she was Liz's mother and said, "Hi Peter, you look very handsome."
"Thank you," Peter whispered.
She walked into the kitchen where Toomes was doing dishes.
"You got his name right?" The woman asked.
Adrian pondered for a second before guessing, "Freddie?"
"Peter!" The Woman reminded him.
"Peter, right." Adrian mentally told himself.
"I'll go get Liz." The woman told them as she left.
Peter nodded and was staring at Toomes. He noticed and asked, "You alright? You look pale."
Peter wanted to say something, but he couldn't get the words out.
"Can I get you something to drink?" Liz's father offered him.
"I-I'm not old enough to drink." Peter stuttered.
"That's the right answer," He told Peter before his attention turned to the doorway. "Wow,"
Peter turned his head to see Liz Allen in a red dress and heels.
"Wow, wow, wow you look beautiful." Liz's dad commented in amazement.
"Please, don't embarrass me, Dad." Liz pleaded.
"Doesn't she, Pete?" He asked.
"Yeah, you look really pretty," Peter told Liz.
"Once again, it's the right answer," Adrian commented, already liking Peter.
She noticed a flower in Peter's hand. "Is that a corsage?"
Peter was still looking at Liz's dad before Peter woke up.
"Oh, yeah," Peter said as he took it out of the package and gave it to Liz. "This is for you."
Liz smiled and said, "Thanks."
"Hey, I'm your chauffeur, so let's get this show on the road." Liz's dad said.
They then all took some photos, where Peter was trying his best to smile to not give himself away and after that, they all went outside to his car.
During the drive, Liz was looking on her phone and fixing her hair while Peter was frantically texting May. The text read, THE GUY WITH THE WINGS IS LIZ'S DAD!
It didn't take all that long for May to respond as he read the text. The text read, Okay, just stay cool and we'll meet you there!
"So, what are you going to do?" Adrian asked Peter, to his confusion.
"When you get out of school, what are you gonna do?"
"Oh, I'm still working on that."
Liz leaned closer to her dad's seat and told him, "He has an internship with Tony Stark, so I don't think he should worry."
"Stark huh?" Toomes asked, hinting at the hatred in his voice.
"Oh, uh, I don't do t-that anymore," Peter told the group.
"Seriously, why?" Liz asks Peter, surprised.
"It got a little boring after a while."
"Boring? You got to hang out with Spider-Man." Liz argued.
That captivated the father's interest. "Spider-Man, huh? What's he like?"
Peter stuttered. "H-He's n-nice. Solid guy."
For some reason, he grew even more curious in Peter as his next question came. "I've seen you around, right? I mean, somewhere, we've-Have we ever, because even the voice is uh,"
"I don't think we have met before sir. Sorry." Peter apologized.
"Hey, it's not a problem," Adrian assured him and quickly changed the conversation. "So, that whole Stark thing, how come that didn't work out?"
"Dad,"
"No, no, it's okay," Peter told Liz to keep the peace. "I left because Stark wasn't the greatest person t-to be an r-role model."
"I thought it was because you were away for, what nine months?" Liz asked him.
"You were gone?" Toomes asked Peter, curious.
They all stopped at a red light.
"Yeah, for a long time and it was six months," Peter told the group.
The driver took a moment to think in his head. He was gone for six months and during those six months, Spider-Man had been more active in Queens.
Also, Peter's voice was familiar and he knew why; Peter Parker was Spider-Man…
"Dad, the light is green," Liz told her father.
After being told that, he snapped out of his thoughts and continued to drive.
After many minutes of driving, the car arrived at the Homecoming. The two young love birds were prepared to exit the vehicle, when Adrian said, "Liz, you go on ahead. I'm gonna give Peter the 'Dad Talk'."
Liz rolled her eyes and assured Peter not to feel intimidated by him. She kissed his cheek and told him to have a safe flight and left the car, leaving him alone with Peter Parker.
He waited for Liz to be in the building. Peter's senses were going off like crazy. The father turned to Peter, with a gun in his hand, but Peter didn't see it.
"Does she know?" He firmly asked Peter.
Peter tried to hide it and asked, "Know what?"
"So she doesn't. Good, close to the vest," He was relieved, but Peter was downright scared that The Vulture knew his secret. "I admire that. I got a few secrets of my own. All the reasons I didn't want my daughter to date,"
"Peter, I have a complicated industry to run, but you are getting in the way of that and right now, but I get it. I understand why you're doing this whole Superhero thing. You're trying to help the little guy and I respect that, so I'm going to give you a chance."
"A chance for what?" Peter asked.
"To walk through those doors, forget that any of this happened and if you or your pals down at the NWPD ever…EVER interfere with my business again, I'll kill you and everybody you love!" He threatened him menacingly.
"...Are you going to kill people just to get your way?" Peter asked him.
"If that's what it takes to protect my family, then yes, Pete, I will."
Peter looked down at his seat as he told Peter, "Hey, I just saved your life. Now, what do you say?"
Peter's head came back to look at the father when he told him, "Thank you."
He smiled as he nodded and told him, "You're welcome," He then gestured towards the school. "Now, you go in there and show my daughter a good time. Just not too good."
Peter silently nodded as he exited out of the car, which drove off to who knows where.
A car then honked its horn at Peter and when he turned his head, he saw May and Ben in the car. They got out of the car and ran to him.
"We got your text. Are you sure it's him?" May asked him.
"I'm sure, his helmet broke during our fight!"
"Does he know you know?" May asked him.
"Worse, he knows that I'm you-know-who!" Peter harshly whispered.
"Well, what are you gonna do?" Ben asked Peter, a little worried.
Peter felt like he was having a heart attack. He took a glimpse at May and wondered if he should look the other way this time to keep May safe. But the memory of his Uncle's death. He knew he would never look the other way again, even if he wanted too. He quickly calmed down and said, "I'm going after him."
"How are you going to find him?" May asked.
"I'll explain everything later. Just get back in the car and wait here. I need to break things off." Peter's voice filled with regret.
Peter pulled open the doors and was met with the sound of loud modern music. Peter made his way through the crowd and found Liz waiting for him. Liz had a small smile when she saw Peter's face.
"What did he say to you?" Liz asked in a fond tone. Peter gave Liz a look filled with regret and determination.
Peter steeled himself and said, "Gotta go. I'm sorry. You don't deserve this." With that statement, Peter took off running leaving Liz on the dance floor.
Peter made a phone call as both he and May were driving home. It was to Yuri. She answered, "Yuri Watanabe."
"Yuri, I know who's running the weapons operation; Adrian Toomes. Ring any bells?"
"One moment," After a moment or two, she continued talking."He was a construction worker, along with his pals from the Ferry, but they were fired when Damage Control came into the picture. He also has a storage building a few streets down from where you are. I'm texting you the address."
Peter nodded as they arrived at their place. He changed into his Spider-Man suit and got on his web-shooters. But before he could jump out the window, his arm was grabbed by May, who told him, "Please be careful, Peter. I don't know what I could do if-"
"Hey," Peter stopped her and kissed her forehead. "I'll come back."
"But, what if you don't?" May asked, scared for his safety.
"I don't, then you can ground me," Peter replied, earning a sad smile from May.
She let go of his arm and watched his nephew jump out the window and out onto the streets.
Ben looked at her. "Don't worry, Mrs. Parker. He'll be fine."
May turned to him. "How can you be sure of that?"
"Simple. He may look young, but already, he's the bravest person I've ever met."
But, as he was making his way to the warehouse after swinging away from the house, he was hit by the bald assailant, who was called The Shocker, and it sent Spider-Man flying in an alleyway and into an opened dumpster.
Spidey got out of the dumpster and removed a banana peel from the top of his head.
"Oh, you're in for it now, Shocker!" The web-slinger exclaimed.
He webbed himself onto a building wall, readying himself for a fight, and finally landed on the ground, facing Shocker.
Shocker blasted his gauntlet at Spidey, sending him onto the pavement.
"You know, I wasn't sure about wearing this thing, but now as I'm kicking your ass with this," He stared impressed at the metal device. "Damn!"
He opened fire at him once again and hit Spider-Man, once again.
'I can't waste any more time with this guy, gotta take him out somehow.' Spider-Man mentally told himself.
He then remembered the webs Ben made to handle Shocker, so he fired the webs at his gauntlet, and to his amazement, it worked.
He screamed with joy as he leaped on Shocker, knocking him into the dumpster. He webbed Shocker up and left him there for Yui to pick up later.
But, as he jumped on top of a rooftop to make his way to the warehouse, a searchlight shined brightly on him. He looked up to see a Government Helicopter, landing on the rooftop. A dozen FBI agents came out and pointed their guns at him with General Ross coming out last.
"The so-called Amazing Spider-Man," Ross stated. "You're under arrest for crimes against The Sokovia Accords."
"So, raise your hands where we can see them!" Another agent ordered.
The agents were circling him where he stood as Spider-Man just stood there, not trying to push his luck.
"I said hands up, Spider-Freak!" The agent repeated.
Spider-Man was walking toward a few agents, asking, "Look, guys, can we just-"
Ross fired a shot from his pistol at the ground and ordered, "You were given orders to stand down! I would listen if I were you, son."
Spider-Man sighed but did just that. But, as he did put his arms in the air, he fired multiple webs at the agents and was beginning to attack them. The first one he attacked was Ross for all the human rights violations that Accords created.
"So, Stark is so desperate to catch me, he'll call you guys to do his dirty work?" Spider-Man commented.
"Speak of the Devil," A voice came from the sky. It was Iron Man and he landed on the ground. "...And he will appear."
"Look, I don't have time for this. I got somewhere I need to be." Spidey told him.
Iron man is aiming his repulsors at the kid, but after a moment, he removed his battle armor, stepped out of it, and was in a black suit.
"The hell are you doing, Stark?" Ross demanded an explanation.
Tony then looked at Spider-Man and waved him off.
"I'll deal with these guys, you do whatever you gotta do." He told Peter, to his shock.
He stood there for a moment and after Tony told him to, once again, leave the building, he swung off to the warehouse.
Adrian Toomes was inside the warehouse, alone. He was preparing something for another robbery when a web was fired at his hand.
"Hey!" Spider-Man's voice called from the back of the room. "Surprised?"
To say that Adrian wasn't startled would be untrue, but he smiled and began to speak.
"You know, when you first came to the house, I was like, 'Really, this guy is dating my daughter?', but now I get why Liz likes you. It's a shame, if you weren't behind the mask, I would've approved of you."
"Why are you doing this to her?"
"I'm not doing anything to Liz. I'm doing this for her," He continued. "Peter, you're young. You don't get how the world works yet."
"Yeah, but I'm able to understand that selling dangerous weapons to criminals is wrong!"
"How do you think your buddy Stark paid for that tower? Or any of his little toys?" Adrain asked angrily, but was still able to keep a soft voice. Peter paid close attention to what he had to say next. "Those people, Pete, those people up there, the rich and the powerful, they do whatever they want. Guys like us, like you and me, they don't care about us. We build their roads, and we fight all their wars and everything, but they don't care about us. We have to pick up after them. We have to eat their table scraps. That's how it is. I think you know what I'm talking about, Peter."
Spider-Man paused for a moment to realize that Adrian was right and he found someone whose world was crushed by the same man and he felt sorry for him and what Stark did to him.
"You're right," Peter then took off his mask. "I used to idolize Iron Man, zooming through the streets to save the day...and when we met, he wanted me to get involved with the Accords, but I refused. He blackmailed me, said he would reveal my identity if I didn't do what he said."
"I'm sorry he did that too you. But you do understand why I have to do this, right?" Adrian was somewhat relieved that he found someone he could relate to.
"I do, Mr. Toomes. But, just because we can do something, it doesn't give us the right to."
"That's rich, coming from you," Adrian remarked. "I do this for my family, because I love them! What do you climb up skyscrapers for?"
"Because it's not my choice, sir," He put his mask back on. "It's my responsibility."
Adrian looked at him sympathetically. "I guess that's another thing we have in common; We both don't have a choice." Adrian pressed a button and his wing-suit came speeding towards Spider-Man. He leaped out of the way and continued to do so for a while.
"For what it's worth Pete, I'm sorry I have to do this to you." Adrian apologized.
"What are you talking about? It hasn't even touched me!" Peter exclaimed.
"True, but you're not her target," Adrian told him as the wing-suit hit a pillar.
Spider-Man realized what it was doing. But it was too late. Every pillar where Peter was standing had been damaged and half of the roof crashed onto Spider-Man.
Adrian was deeply sorry, but he was getting in the way. So, he put on his helmet, strapped on his Vulture gear, and began to make his way into the dark sky
