TW: Abuse and homophobia

Mineta nervously shifted the weight of his bag from shoulder to shoulder as he walked home. With every step, his heart rate picked up even more. He was so nervous. He couldn't believe he was about to be stuck at home with his parents for a whole week. The very thought of it made him want to break down.

Still.

It's not like he felt like he had much of a choice.

I can do this. I just need to keep my gayness to myself, and I'll be fine. Just stay calm and focused. And then all will be well. Mineta told himself as he walked up the driveway. Hesitantly, he pushed the door open.

His mom immediately pulled him into a hug. "Welcome home, Minoru," his mom said.

She was Mineta's height. She had a nice curvy frame, large purple eyes that held a hint of fear, and long purple hair that she had tied in a bun.

"H-Hey, Mom. Is ... Dad home?" Mineta asked hesitantly.

"Don't worry. He's out with some friends."

Mineta let out a small sigh of relief before walking into the house. He set his stuff down before taking a seat on the couch. His mom sat down next to him.

"So ... how's he been treating you since I've moved into the dorms?" he asked.

Mrs. Mineta sighed. "It's gotten kind of worse..."

Mineta immediately grew concerned. "Worse, how?"

Mrs. Mineta rolled up her sleeve to reveal a fresh scar. "It was caused by a knife."

Shit. Mineta thought to himself. "I-I'm sorry."

Mrs. Mineta gave her son a sad smile. "Don't be. It wasn't your fault," she said, rolling her sleeve back down. Then she cleared her throat. "What about you? How's school been going? Find any girls that peaked your interest?"

Mineta tried his best not to flinch at that last question. But he knew he had to keep a straight face. "School's been going well. As for the question about the girls, no. None of them have peaked my interest."

"I see. I'm sure you'll find someone right for you, sweetie."

"... yeah."

The two continued to talk and catch up. Mineta had successfully avoided spilling his darkest secret.

Now Mrs. Mineta was in the kitchen, prepping dinner. Mineta pulled out his phone and started texting Kaminari.

Grape Boi: Hey

It didn't take long for Kaminari to respond.

Pikachu: Hey, bro! What's up?

Grape Boi: Nothing much. Just bored.

Pikachu: Gotcha. You could hang with your family. Pretty sure that's what most of us are doing.

Grape Boi: Mom's cooking and Dad's out.

Pikachu: Think you'll come out to them this week?

Grape Boi: NO WAY

Mineta stared at the text he just sent. He only sent it because he panicked. Kaminari's going to question it, he just knew it.

Pikachu: Oh.

Pikachu: Let me guess - your parents are homophobic.

Grape Boi: How'd you know?

Pikachu: I can just tell. That text seemed quick and panicked.

Grape Boi: Yeah, you're right. And yes. They ARE homophobic. They can't know I'm gay. I don't want to disappoint them.

Pikachu: They're not abusive, though, are they?

Grape Boi: ...

Pikachu: God, they are, aren't they?

Grape Boi: Just my dad. Aizawa knows, but that's it. Please don't tell anyone! I don't want anyone worrying.

Pikachu: A little too late for that, bro. I'm already worried.

Grape Boi: Sorry for worrying you.

Pikachu: Sorry you have to deal with an abusive dad. Promise me you'll try to stay safe?

Grape Boi: I'll be fine. I've dealt with it enough in the past. What's another week? Besides, if I continue to hide my gayness, I'll be fine.

Pikachu: It sucks that you have to hide it after all the progress you made.

Grape Boi: It does, but again, it's only for a week.

Pikachu: Good luck, bro.

Grape Boi: Thanks, bro.

"Who're you texting?" a deep voice that just screamed trouble cut in.

Mineta jumped. His eyes widened in fear and his heart started to race. He slowly looked up from his phone and saw his father.

Mr. Mineta was one brute of a man. He stood at a solid 6'0 and was naturally strong. However, he also had a bit of a gut. On top of his head were sticky black balls, much like Mineta's. He wore a cocky smirk and glared at his son with his icy gray eyes.

Mineta panicked, shut his phone off, and pocketed it. "N-No one!" he said, frantically.

Mr. Mineta held out his hand, indicating that he wanted to see his son's phone for himself. With a shaking hand, Mineta grabbed his phone and handed it to his father. The old man took it and started scrolling.

I can't believe Dad is finding out so soon! It's only day 1! I'm doomed! I'm dead! I'm not gonna live to see the light of day! I'm never going to become a pro! I'm never going to see my friends again! I never even got a chance to tell Shoji-

SMACK!

Mineta fell off the couch from the force of the blow and landed hard on the floor. He clutched his now stinging cheek as his entire body shook with fear.

"I knew something was off about you from the beginning," his father growled. "Now I know what it is!"

WHUMP!

Mineta folded over and hugged his stomach. He desperately resisted the urge to vomit.

"K-Kuroiboru-" Mrs. Mineta cut in, only for her to instantly get swatted away like nothing.

"Mom!" Mineta cried out.

"Shut up, you little shit!" Mr. Mineta roared as he slammed his foot down.

CRACK!

Mineta yelled in pain as he felt his rib cage splinter.

The yelling turned into screaming as he felt the blade of a whittling knife plunge into his back.

When the knife was removed, Mineta rolled over to face his father, hoping he could do something to protect himself.

That ended up not being the case as the knife plunged into his shoulder, causing him to scream more.

"KUROIBORU, STOP! Y-YOU'LL KILL HIM!" Mrs. Mineta shouted.

"ASK ME IF A GIVE A FUCK!" Mr. Mineta roared as he twisted the knife. Mineta howled in pain.

I-It can't end like this! I need to get out of here!

The knife got removed and blood splattered everywhere. Mineta immediately put pressure in the wound, hoping to at least slow the bleeding down. Then he shakily got up and started to rush past his father. He felt a kick in the leg followed by a crack that made him fall again. Still, he had to keep going. He pushed himself back up and rapidly limped for the door.

"Don't look back, Minoru! Just keep running!" his mom shouted after him as he made it out the door.

Mineta was afraid to look back, so he did as his mom told him. He didn't hear his father chasing him, so that was a good sign. Still, he knew he had to keep moving.

But where?

Mineta didn't stop to think about it. He just kept moving.

After a while, he felt himself growing tired. He had lost a fair amount of blood after all. He looked around and realized he was in the park.

I'm close to UA! I can go there and get help!

But my body is exhausted! Everything hurts. I don't know if I can make it-

With those thoughts, he collapsed onto the grass. He looked around to see if there were any passerbys.

But there was no one.

Mineta looked up at the night sky, his eye lids getting heavy. How late was it?

As if things weren't bad enough, it started to snow.

I'm going to freeze out here. I'll die from hypothermia!

If I don't bleed out first, that is.

I'm losing consciousness.

I'm going to die out here.

Thank you, everyone who helped me.

Aizawa.

Kaminari.

Ashido.

Tokoyami.

All you guys.

...

Shoji...
