FUTURE HALLEY'S P. O. V

""Halley, don't!" I heard Mon-El voice in my ear, but I wasn't stopping, not if that was the last chance I got to save my cousin. "Don't walk inside that room" he warned me again.

"I'm sorry, Mon-El" I murmured while picking a new arrow so I would be ready to attack whoever that was inside that room.

"Halley, please, don't do it" he begged. "Wait until we get there" he asked.

"I don't have that much time!" I exclaimed, losing my patience, they were too far away of where I was.

"Just wait" Mon-El said as I sighed.

"I'm giving you two minutes" I finally gave in.

"Okay, fair enough" he answered. "Where's Val?" he asked, to what I shrugged as if he could see me.

"I don't know, we split up" I lied, the truth was that I had tried my best to leave him behind, so I could keep going by my own. "One minute" I told him.

"Wait a little longer, please" he asked, but I shook my head.

"We have ten minutes left to find her, I'm not waiting longer" I answered him. "Thirty seconds" I kept counting, even if part of me was hoping to see him appear there since I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to defeat them by own. "I'm sorry, but I have to do it" I told him, Mon-El sighing.

"Halley, please, wait" he begged again.

"She could be dying inside that room, Don't you want to find her?" I asked him, being upset as I didn't understand why he was holding me back.

"She's not there, Hal" he whispered, but I didn't listen, there was no way he could know that.

I closed my eyes, just trying to calm myself down, not knowing what I was going to find on the other side, but promising myself that I would fight till the end.

"Halley!" Mon-El shouted my name the moment I kicked the door.

It was dark inside, so it took me a while to adjust to the low amount of light, even though I knew that I was being surrounded, I could feel it, but I kept moving, ready to shoot whenever I had an opportunity.

"Put the weapon down" someone ordered me, but I didn't move, the bow's string caressing my cheek as I turned looking for the voice. "I will not say it again, put the weapon down" a woman appeared in front of me. "I'm sure you're here for your cousin, so do what I tell you if you don't want to see her get hurt" she warned me while pointing to a window.

I let the bow fall before shortly before running towards it, fresh tears forming in my eyes as I recognize the person that was on the other side.

Kara was sitting against the wall over a pool of blood, her hands holding her stomach as her eyes remained closed, but I could tell that she was awake.

"Kar..." I didn't fully find my voice as I let my right hand rest on the glass.

"She can't see you" those words made me close my eyes, however, I knew that even if she couldn't see me, she was able to hear me or at least see that the mirror she had in front of her was moving. "Get her!" the woman exclaimed after observing that I was closing my hands into fists, ready to hit the window.

Just as two pair of hands gripped me, I managed to hit it, being able to observe how my cousin opened her eyes afraid, getting herself even closer to the wall.

I waited for them to believe that I was contained before attacking them, my fist landing on one of the agents' jaw, knocking him out.

I needed to get to Kara, she had to know that I was there, that we were there and that we were going to take her out of that room, she was going to be fine.

"Don't let her leave" the woman kept giving orders, but it didn't stop me, not until a kryptonite dagger stabbed my left leg.

I let myself fall to the ground between screams, it burned, still looking for a way to escape, closing my eyes when one of the agents grabbed my hair to pull my head backwards, shortly before placing another dagger over my throat.

"Did you really think that we wouldn't be ready for you?" the woman asked. "I've been waiting to meet you, to get to know you" she commented, getting closer to me. "So sweet that you're here to save your cousin" she smiled as I sighed, trying to pull away from the grip.

"Why are you doing this?" I asked her, feeling sick because of the kryptonite.

"Doing what?" she asked back.

"Kidnapping aliens, torturing them, murdering them..." I listed as she turned around while laughing.

"Have we been doing those things?" she questioned the agents, the three of them shaking their heads. "That's what I thought" she smirked. "We've been protecting ourselves from them, from your kind" she answered while pointing at me. "Supergirl and you ruined my life, especially your cousin did, you were trying to stop it after all" the woman explained as I tried to think of an event in which we would have worked with each other alone. "You don't remember it, huh? It had a huge explosion, like the one that could happen right here right now" she observed me, getting me to close my eyes.

I knew what she was talking about. It was the explosion Non made inside that building, the one that I tried to stop, but that I ended up injured and trapped inside the building.

"Were you inside?" I asked her.

"No, not me, my son was" she answered. "Neither of you could save him" the woman pointed out and, deep down she was right. "So an eye for an eye" she sighed.

"So you thought it was okay to threat two innocent kids" I looked directly into her eyes.

"Well, there's nothing worse for a mother than knowing that your children are in danger and you can't do anything to help them" she commented while crouching in front of me. "And you, my dear, are that child" she caressed my cheek, getting me to turn my head away from her touch.

Her dark brown eyes studied me, observing how she nodded to the agents, who dragged me to a chair, putting kryptonite handcuffs on my wrists.

The woman grabbed the dagger of my leg shortly before pulling from it, which only got me to scream in pain, looking away, barely being able to bear seeing the hole over my leg. I had never liked the blood.

"Shh, shh, it's okay" she patted my head. "Supergirl will decide everyone's destiny, if she push that button, this will blow up and if she push the other... Only you will die and they will be free, including her" the woman explained, pointing to the place where Kara was sitting with the buttons in front of her. "And after letting you down... I don't think she will think that she's worthy enough to wear that 'S'" she commented as fresh tears appeared in my eyes.

"Just kill me and let them go" I asked her, not wanting my cousin to have to choose.

"No... I want to see what she chooses, Do you think she will let everyone else die just to save you? Do you worth that much?" she questioned me, one of the agents pushing my chair toward the window. "Let's get started" she smiled.

I saw how she walked inside of the other room through kind of a secret door, which made me frown since I wasn't able to listen to whatever she was telling Kara, who looked up to the mirror while muttering my name.

"Let her go" I heard her voice, she was in pain, tears streaming down her cheeks. "Kill me and let them go, please" she begged as I shook my head.

"How sweet of you, you know she said the same, she would die for you" the woman told her, Kara frowning as her eyes met mine, she was going to try to persuade me to let her die.

"Don't do this Kara, not now" I said, not really being able to contain my tears. "Please, it's okay, I'm not scared" I assured her, but she shook her head. "They need you, they can't lose you... Just push that damm button" I told her.

"They need you too and I need you to be safe" she answered before looking to the woman. "I'm taking her place" she said.

"No! Kara, please, don't!" I exclaimed, it had to be me, Leo and Juliet couldn't lose their mom. "It'll be okay... I love you" I whispered, seeing how she looked away.

"I love you, too, baby" she whispered back. "I'm sorry" she sobbed, to what I nodded, it was okay.

"I'm done with all of this!" the woman exclaimed, losing her patience. "Just kill her already!" she ordered the agents as I closed my eyes, still crying.

"No! No!" Kara screamed just as a gunshot was heard."

I woke up to a pair of arms wrapping me, which got me to push away in fear, Was I still dreaming? It had felt too real to be a dream, it was sort of a memory.

"Halley, hey, it's okay, you're safe" Kara grabbed my shoulders to stop me from moving, I hadn't even realized that I was trembling. "Shh, shh, I got you" my cousin whispered while holding me closer to her.

"Kar...?" I barely murmured, just having to make sure that she was really there with me.

"I'm here, it's okay" she kissed the top of my head, just cradling me in between her arms as if she was trying to sooth me.

I just stayed like that, my head on her shoulder as I couldn't stop the tears from escaping my eyes, it had been a horrible nightmare. Although, honestly, What if I was already dead? What if that was my last memory?

"Are you okay?" Kara's voice startled me, which made her increase the strength of the hug. "It was a bad dream" she whispered. "Do you want to talk about it?" she asked, to what I pulled away from her while shaking my head.

"I don't quite remember it" I answered, wiping my tears, Kara observing me. "I'm okay" I tried to assured her.

"You sure?" she questioned me, to what I nodded. "I'm here if you want to talk, okay?" she told me.

"I know" I whispered just hugging myself to her. "I love you" I murmured.

"I love you, too, baby" she kissed my forehead, my eyes closed just trying to contain my tears, wanting to remember those words.

HALLEY'S P. O. V

"All done" she whispered while giving her cousin the paper sheet.

"Already? You're fast, huh?" Kara smiled at her, which got her to smile back. "You don't have more homework, do you?" her cousin asked her, to what she shook her head.

"Is Hal okay?" she asked after remembering that her older self had been crying during most of the night.

"Um... Yeah, she just had a bad dream, but she is fine, baby" Kara answered, wanting to keep her calm.

She barely nodded, observing how her cousin was distracted, in her hands a picture of Eliza and Jeremiah, so wanting to end with her sadness, she hugged herself to her cousin, who embraced her as tight as possible.

"Kara" it was Lena's voice the one that pull them apart, Kara still keeping her close as if she wasn't truly trusting the situation. "I heard about Jeremiah, I came to offer up sympathies" the woman said. "Offer up my sympathies, God, I sound like an android..."

"No, you said it like someone who is afraid to confront the woman who called you a villain" Kara answered, slowly releasing her from the grip.

"My mother died when I was very young and I... I know that pales in comparison to the losses that you've suffered, but I know it doesn't get any easier... I'm sorry" Lena said as she picked up a new heartbeat there, one that she had memorized, Lex's.

"Thank you for saying that, it means a lot coming from you" her cousin whispered as she gripped her jacket, kind of afraid, trying to find where he was.

"This helped me a lot with memories of my mother and other family difficulties" her cousin's friend said while giving Kara a book.

"Well, if it helped with Luthor family difficulties, I'm sure it will help me a lot" Kara commented with a slight smile. "Thank you" her cousin barely stared at Lena before looking down.

She frowned slightly while observing how Lena was leaving, her gaze still looking for the person that was spying on them, but only being able to hear how he was walking away from there.

"You okay, baby?" Kara asked, her voice sounding a little bit concerned about how she was acting, but she nodded slightly, maybe it was all in her mind.

KARA'S P. O. V

"Halley?" she called while looking for the teen, but not receiving an answer. "Stay here" she asked the eight year old, having a feeling that something was wrong.

She stopped abruptly when she found blood next to the bathroom, scared of whatever she was going to find inside.

The teenager was sitting on the floor, her back against the wall, both of her hands over her lap, one of them closed.

"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry" the girl sobbed as she frowned, trying to understand what had happened, looking for any wound over the teenager's skin.

"It's okay" she whispered. "Are you hurt?" she asked, slowly kneeling in front of Halley.

However, she didn't have an answer, the girl breathing with so much agitation, barely even doing it, which was starting to scare her.

"Sweetie, I need you to tell me what happened" she said, gently grabbing both of the teenager's hands. "Can you open your hand?" she asked, trying to act calm, not wanting to alter her cousin more than she already was.

Halley nodded slightly while doing it, making her frown as she observed the cuts over the girl's palms along with the kryptonite arrowhead. Why would her cousin do that?

"I'm sorry" the teen barely mumbled as she took the arrowhead away from her hand, observing how some of the cuts were starting to heal.

"Shh, it's okay, it's okay" she tried to calm her down, sitting beside her before wrapping her arms around the trembling girl. "I got you, I'm here, baby" she forced the teenager's head on her shoulder, just keeping the embrace as tight as possible.

Slowly, Halley stopped crying, her eyes closed as she continued to caress her dark hair, looking from time to time to the piece of kryptonite that was in front of them, knowing that it was making both of them sick, but at that moment she needed the girl to relax before attempting to clean the blood from her hands.

"I'm sorry" Halley whispered for the third time, being a little bit calmer than before.

"Are you feeling better?" she asked her, the girl nodding slightly. "Okay, come here" she said getting up before helping the teen, who stumbled a little. "I got you" she whispered while holding her.

She grabbed Halley's left hand and put it under the water, observing how the teen looked away as the blood was being rinsed from her skin.

The cuts were almost healed, but she knew that they needed to get rid of the kryptonite for both of them to feel better.

"Kara, we're here, is everything okay?" she heard her sister ask, which made the teen to whimper a little. "Oh, God, Halley!" Alex exclaimed after having observed the whole scene, her cousin looking away in shame.

"I need you to take the kryptonite, she'll be better once it's gone" she told her, Alex nodding before taking it away, being able to observe how Halley's cuts started to close. "You okay?" she asked the teen, who barely nodded. "Do you want to stay in the living room with us?" she questioned sensing that her cousin wasn't really in the mood of talking, so she didn't want to obligate her.

Halley nodded again, so she gripped her arm to take her to the living room, the teen sitting on one of the armchairs as she gave her a blanket, just wanting to make sure that her cousin was alright.

"I'm going to clean the bathroom, Can you watch her?" she asked Alex and Kelly, who were at the kitchen doing their best to keep the child distracted.

"Yeah, sure" her sister answered as she looked one last time to the teen, seeing how she had closed her eyes.

Once she had cleaned the bathroom and changed her clothes, she came back to the living room, the teenager seemed to be a little bit more on alert than she was minutes ago since the girl was starting to answer the questions Alex was making her.

"I'm sorry" the teen apologized again as she sat down on the floor in front of her.

"I told you it's okay, sweetie" she said, even if she was still asking herself why her cousin had done that. "Can I... Could you tell me why?" she questioned in just a whispered, afraid that the girl wouldn't feel comfortable talking about it.

"I... I just needed to know if I am real" the teenager answered without even looking at her, which made her frown a little bit confused, but kind of understanding what Halley was referring to.

"What do you mean? Of course you're real, Hal" It was her sister who talked, to what the girl shrugged.

"The nightmare I had last night... I think... I think it was a memory" her cousin told them.

"About what?" she asked, even though she wasn't sure if she wanted that answer or not.

"My... Death" it was barely a whispered, but it got the attention of the four of them, being able to observe how the little girl frowned kind of scared.

"What?!" Alex exclaimed as she just sighed while observing the teen. "Wait, Did you know?" her sister asked her, to what she nodded.

"Winn told me about it, but it was supposed to happen in a few months" Halley tried to explain. "Mon-El asked him to give me a letter from the future and... From what I understand... I am already dead" the teen said not making eye contact with either of them.

"Are you sure it was a memory?" she questioned her, afraid of what might be happening next.

"It felt so real, I mean... It's was as if I had already lived that" the girl answered, feeling that her cousin was begging for them to believe her.

"Then how is it possible that you're here?" Kelly asked confused, to what the teenager shrugged, none of them had an answer for that.

"Can we ask J'onn?" Halley asked.

"Sure, we'll talk to him later, okay?" she told her. "But please, next time don't do this, just talk to me" she looked directly into her eyes, the teen nodding slightly. "Come here" she patted next to her on the floor, the girl sitting next to her, so she couldn't avoid wrapping her arms around her, trying to keep her as close as possible. "I love you" she whispered.

"I love you, too" the teenager whispered back with a little smile.

Slowly, the topic got missing as she continued reading the book that Lena had given to her, barely listening to the conversation her sister and Kelly were having with the little girl, who ended up giggling.

"I still can't believe the fact that she gave you that after everything that happened" Alex commented when she put the book aside.

"Well, maybe she's coming around, seeing the light about Lex" she answered, hoping for her words to be true, her baby cousin tensing while looking down.

"No, no light about him, that man is..." Kelly started speaking as the doorbell rang, getting up while interrupting her.

"The devil incarnate" she completed the sentence, opening the door to meet William standing on the other side.

"I hope you weren't talking about me" he commented, which she quickly denied.

"Are these baked goods?" she asked taking the food from his hands.

"Yes, scones, sticky toffee pudding, and banoffee pie, all my mother's favorite recipes for comfort food, I hope it helps" he answered as she tried her best to contain her excitement.

"You made all of this?" Alex asked.

"Well, I didn't want to show up empty-handed coming here, asking for help... with a story on Lex Luthor and Obsidian" William commented, getting all of them to look at him. "Before your father's funeral, Kelly and I were onto this idea that Lex had done something to Obsidian to cause people to get stuck in VR and disappear" he explained.

"The missing people were wearing Obsidian lenses" Kelly pointed out as she frowned, her gaze focusing on the teenage girl that was sitting on the armchair, her cousin was falling asleep.

She kept listening to William explanations while approaching the girl, gently grabbing her left hand just to see if the cuts were still visible, which they were not, but getting Halley to open her eyes.

"Shh, it's okay" she whispered as the rest stopped talking, staring at them. "Go back to sleep, I'm here" she told her while seeing how the teen closed her eyes again.

"Is she okay?" William asked a little confused about the situation.

"Yeah, she didn't sleep at night" she answered, concerned about the girl.

"Wait a minute, Kelly, you said there was a list of users that are still stuck in VR, right? Can you show me that?" her sister asked going back to the topic of the conversation, Kelly giving her her tablet. "Bonnie, I met this girl in VR" Alex said while reading the list. "Why would anyone want to keep her there?"

"Human testing, organ harvesting" William answered.

"If people are getting hurt in Obsidian, we need to find out about it and expose them" she told them, they needed to do the right thing.

"If we find the proof, I'll run the story" William said. "It'll be around the globe in minutes, the world will know if Obsidian is endangering them" he added.

She could feel that they were so close to expose Lex, to finally get justice for everything he had done, especially for her baby cousin, knowing that she would be able to rest once he was behind bars.

FUTURE HALLEY'S P. O. V

The views from the Tower were as impressive as the ones from the DEO, I just loved them, how the city was visible from them and how quiet was everything that night.

It had been a long day, not being able to forget the nightmare, still not trusting the fact that I was real, that I was there, but feeling sorry for having put Kara through the breakdown that I had had earlier.

"Hey, your cousin told me that you wanted to talk to me" J'onn said while approaching me, moment at which I sighed, not being ready to know the truth.

"Um... Yeah" I answered a little unsure. "I think I got one of my memories back" I told him, seeing how he nodded. "Is there any way...?"

"There is, but I can't assure you that it will work, kryptonian's minds are stronger" he warned me, to what I nodded.

"If you're able to see it, please, don't tell Kara" I asked him in fear that my cousin would learn the truth about what happened.

"You don't her to know?" J'onn was confused, but when I shook my head, he seemed to understand. "Okay, let's do it inside" he said, so both of us walked inside, Kara staring at us.

"You're doing it?" she asked as I sat down on the couch next to her, getting me to nod. "I'm here with you" she whispered, gently adjusting the sleeping child in her arms.

"Whenever you're ready" J'onn told me, Kara offering me her hand to hold, so I did, gripping it tightly shortly before nodding slightly.

I closed my eyes the moment he touched my face, not knowing if I was supposed to feel something, but kind of waiting for him to say that it had been just a dream, that it had never happened, even if deep down I knew it had.

"It was a memory" I heard him say as I opened my eyes, his gaze meeting mine, he was sad about what he had seen.

"But..." my voice cracked, I felt scared of not understanding how was possible for me to be there.

"It's okay" Kara released the grip of my hand to embrace me. "We'll figure it out" she told me, but I shook my head.

"I'm dead... I... I don't understand" I whispered.

"If you're here, it means that somehow you're alive" J'onn commented. "We just have to figure out how it's that possible" he tried to calm me down, Kara kissing my hair as I nodded, maybe I should listen to them, we would figure it out.

Hi!

I wasn't sure if I wanted to use the dream/memory scene, since it was supposed to be a scene for the fanfic 'Teen Halley'.

However, I thought that it added great drama because I didn't know what to do with episode 17, so it helps to understand a little bit more what happened.

Thanks so much for reading, let me know what you think,
