I honestly debated wrapping up the fic now that Mineta's old man got arrested. You know, them confessing and shit. But then I wondered to myself ... what if we added another arc with more angst?

Heh heh, I really love angst, in case you couldn't tell.

I should probably get help-

Anyways, enjoy!

TW: Blood, violence, death, homophobia

A loud crash sounded in the distance. It sounded like shattering glass.

Minoru snapped his eyes open. He was lying in bed with Mezo, who was awake and alert. He was curled up against the taller male's chest, cocooned in his arms. The blanket Mezo got was draped over them.

"What was that?" Minoru asked, worriedly.

"I don't know," Mezo replied.

Suddenly, Mezo's mom poked her head through the doorway. "Are you boys okay?" she asked.

The two of them nodded.

"Okay, good. Stay put. I'm going to go check it out."

"Be careful, Mom," Mezo called after her.

"Think it's an intruder? Or did something just randomly fall?" Minoru asked, desperately hoping for it to be the latter. After everything he just went through, he was not in the mood to deal with anyone who opposed as a threat.

"I hope it's something that just randomly fell," Mezo replied.

"Me too," Minoru agreed.

The two patiently waited to hear any signs of what the noise could have been.

Unfortunately, the sounds they heard were the last sounds they wanted to hear.

They heard the sound of a strangled cry and splatter sound.

"Mom!" Mezo shouted, leaping out of bed. Minoru quickly scrambled after him.

The two of them raced down the hall and they soon froze in shock and horror by what they saw.

Mr. Mineta stood at the end of the hall, a sinister grin on his face. Gripped in his hand was the whittling knife, which was glinting in the dark with blood. Laying at his feet was Mrs. Shoji. She had a hand clamped on her throat, struggling to stop the blood that poured from the gash. She gurgled a little, desperate to tell the boys to get out immediately.

Minoru felt his eyes well with tears. He was feeling so many emotions and his mind was racing. What the-? How did he find us?! Why is he here?! Oh, God! Mrs. Shoji... Why?! All he could feel was fear that they were gonna get killed. Anger that he was the one that his old man wanted, yet others were the ones getting killed. Regret that he had lead Mr. Mineta straight to the Shojis.

Meanwhile, Mezo felt emotional pain. His mother was dying right in front of him. She was only in this situation because of Minoru's so-called father. He was furious. He was upset. His mom was all he had. No way was he going to let Mr. Mineta get away with this.

However, Minoru was thinking the exact same thing.

"Stay with your mom. She needs you right now. Leave him to me," Minoru lowly scowled.

"But-"

"No buts, Mezo," Minoru growled, his face twisting in anger and determination. He turned to face his father, stepping forward a bit. "IT'S ME YOU TRULY WANT, YOU FUCKER! LEAVE THEM OUT IF THIS! THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THEM!"

"Look at you, getting all confident," Mr. Mineta sneered. "Too bad you're not strong enough to defend yourself or your boyfriend. It's what you get for being a worthless little [REDACTED]."

"You want me, you son of a bitch?!" Minoru shouted. "COME AND GET ME!"

"I think I'd rather kill your freaky boyfriend first! I want to see the look on your face when I kill him!" Mr. Mineta cackled.

"YOU WILL NOT LAY A FINGER ON HIM!" Minoru shouted, sprinting forward.

"Minoru!" Mezo shouted, concerned for what might happen to his classmate.

Minoru immediately jumped forward and landed a hearty punch in his father's stomach. The old man gave a grunt in shock and he glared at his son. "Oh, you're in for it now, you little shit!"

That's it. Come after me. Minoru thought as he ran off, his father right at his heels.

Now that he had a clear path, Mezo immediately knelt down by his mom. "Mom! Hang in there! You're going to be okay!" Mezo cried. I can't lose her! She's the only family I have left!

Mrs. Shoji looked up at her son and sadness. She was only able to muster out a few words. They sounded forced and choked. In fact, they were barely audible. "Save ... yourself ... leave ... me ... I'm f-finished."

No ... no ... Mezo sadly thought.

Meanwhile, in the living room, Minoru had gotten sliced in the leg. He rapidly limped away from his father, but the wound was slowing him down. He sensed another swing of the knife coming his way. I can't let it strike ... not again! He quickly caught his dad's wrist and the two started fighting for the knife.

Minoru wasn't entirely sure how he did it, but he managed to break the knife from Mr. Mineta's grip. Unfortunately, when he did that, he tumbled backward a bit, landing on his back with a hard thump. His eyes widened as his father lurched forward, ready to pin him.

Minoru wasn't sure what to do. He instinctively held the knife up with the blade pointed away from his face. He squeezed his eyes shut, bracing himself for any type of impact.

"Gack!"

Minoru slowly opened his eyes and looked up in horror.

Mr. Mineta looked equally horrified. The knife was embedded in his chest. He slowly rolled off Minoru and on his back, keeping a hand gripped on the knife's handle. He didn't dare pull it out. He knew that would kill him.

Minoru sat up and backed away, panting heavily to calm himself. Then he glared at his dad. "It hurts, doesn't it? Have fun rotting in Hell."

Mr. Mineta would have shot back with a snarky comment but he only coughed up a bit of blood before slipping into unconsciousness.

Minoru let out a loud sigh of relief. Finally. Hopefully it's all over now.

But how did he get here? Wasn't he in jail? Did something happen?

Carefully, he limped back to Mezo's room to get his phone. He called the police and explained what had happened. Once Minoru hung up, he flopped back on the bed and stared at the ceiling. His vision blurred with tears. Silently, he started crying from relief.

After a while, sirens blared. Minoru let out a sigh of relief. He had left Mezo's room and was sitting next to Mr. Mineta's unconscious body, just in case he woke up.

Police officers and paramedics flowed into the house, Aizawa being with them.

"You okay, kid?" Aizawa asked.

"Just a cut on my leg and some bruises. Otherwise, I'm fine," Minoru responded.

"And Shoji?"

"With his mom. He's fine. Physically, anyway."

"And his mom?"

Minoru fell silent and he looked at the floor in shame.

This immediately put Aizawa on edge. "What happened to her?"

"You'll see ... it's not a pretty sight," Minoru replied, quietly.

Aizawa sighed. "Damn it. I should have tried to find him sooner. I've been searching ever since I got the call."

"Call?" Minoru echoed.

"Yeah. The squad car that held him had crashed and he escaped. The officers were pinned in the vehicle and they couldn't get out and stop him. However, they saw him tracking your phone on his," Aizawa said.

"So that's how he found us."

"Yeah. I searched everywhere in this area, checking in on the house itself without intruding," Aizawa explained.

"You could have come in. We would have let you," Minoru said.

"It's the holidays. I didn't want you to spend your time off fretting. I was convinced I would find him before he found you," Aizawa explained, clearly looking guilty.

"Aizawa, it's okay. I understand. You tried your hardest and that's all you can do," Minoru said, hoping to assure his teacher.

"I appreciate the assurance, Mineta. But I still don't know if I can forgive myself," Aizawa replied.

Their conversation was interrupted when the paramedics came downstairs with a stretcher. Laying on the stretcher was a lump shaped like a body covered by a sheet. Mezo walked behind them, tears streaming down his face.

"Mezo!" Minoru called out.

"Minoru!" Mezo replied, face lighting up a bit when he saw him. He rushed over and pulled the smaller boy into a hug. "Are you okay? Are you hurt?"

"I'm fine, Mezo. Just a cut on my leg. I'll be just fine. Besides," he looked over at his father, who was getting checked for a pulse. "I think that takes care of that."

Sure enough, the paramedics weren't able to find one and announced that Mr. Mineta had died. That was a huge relief to Minoru.

Unfortunately, Mrs. Shoji had also been announced dead.

Minoru did what he could to help comfort Mezo.

Minoru's gash was also patched up. He just needed to stay off it for a while.

The chaos at the house had also attracted a small crowd of neighbors.

"Mezo, are you all right?" Asked a yellow haired woman with orange streaks. She had soft hazel eyes.

"Yes, Mrs. Serapisuto," Mezo assured. "I'll be okay."

"Who is this?" Minoru asked, curiously.

"My neighbor," Mezo replied. "Used to babysit me when I was little."

"If you want, you can stay with us for a while," the woman offered. "I'm sure Massugu would love to see you again."

"Massugu?" Mezo echoed. "It HAS been a while since I've seen her. I accept the offer. But as long as Minoru can join us."

Minoru sheepishly waved.

"Oh, of course he can!" Mrs. Serapisuto assured. "Gather your things. Let's go."

"Are you two sure?" Aizawa asked the boys. "You could stay at the dorms."

"She can be trusted," Mezo assured. "Besides, she's a therapist. She'd be good at assurance."

"All right then," Aizawa said. "If there's trouble, contact me immediately."

"Yes sir," the two boys replied in unison.

Whew! That wraps up that! Feels a little rushed, though, not gonna lie ... oh, well.

Don't worry, these two will find true happiness ... eventually :3
