A/N: This is about a Christmas that Kagome has at home without Inuyasha there. I just wrote it for school when I thought this would be great for Kagome's Christmas. Enjoy and Review!

A Winter Landscape

It was a beautiful night. It was Christmas Eve 1999. The New Year was going to be upon everyone in a few days. Snow covered the ground while more lightly fell from the sky. It felt like powder on my fingers. In the moonlight I could see the tree covered with so that you could barely see the branches that just a few months ago bloomed with relaxing white blossoms. I look back over my shoulder as I smell the mouth watering smell of my moms hot chocolate. I hear the sounds of the cars passing by down the road at the highway but I'm oblivious to it all as I walk over to the tree and sit down on the cold bench underneath it. At last everything was right with the world as a white petal flew out of a hole in the tree and fell softly onto my hand. I knew that nothing could go wrong. Even if it just lasted for one night I was content.

That was when she heard a noise come from behind her.
