HALLEY'S P.O.V

She had been listening to Alex and Lena's conversation, not being able to avoid feeling upset because, once more, they weren't saving her cousin from the Phantom Zone.

"But what about saving Kara?" she asked Alex, really trying to stop the woman from keep walking.

"Hal, kiddo, it's the right thing to do" her cousin's sister kneeled down to her height. "You know it's what she would like for us to do" Alex told her.

"It's not fair" she crossed her arms. "Supergirl saves them all the time, but who saves her when she's in danger?" she was angry that everytime they were about to bring her cousin back, they wouldn't be able to.

"We do it" the woman answered her. "I would love to use it to find Kara, but we can't. We have to save this city and the rest of the world" Alex pulled her closer to embrace her. "We'll find another way, I promise, kiddo"

She nodded slightly. It wasn't the first time she had heard those words, so she knew they were more of a lie, that, again, it would take them a long time to get it.

Without being able to control it, she found herself pulling away from Alex while getting a headache, only holding her head for a few seconds before flying away from the Tower.

She couldn't stop it. Her body did not answer to her, not being able to avoid feeling fear when she landed inside that dark place filled with Phantoms.

"No, no..." she started walking backwards until her back hit a wall, multiple Phantoms surrounding her so all she could do was screaming, hoping that everything would end soon.

"She bowed down her head the moment the door opened, being scared of what would happen next.

"Halley, baby" she looked up to see her cousin approaching her, getting her to smile slightly.

However, before she was able to hug Kara, a kryptonite sword was stabbed into her cousin's torso, which only got her to scream in completely horror as she observed how the young superhero fell to the ground.

"No! Kara!" she let herself fall on her knees while screaming, trying to hold her cousin's body, not even bothering to look at the person who had done that. "You're going to be okay..." she tried to sound confident and brave.

"It's alright, baby, they'll find you" Kara smiled softly at her as she shook her head, it was not alright.

"They'll find us both" she told her, since she refused to believe that her cousin wasn't going to make it, but hearing Lex chuckle only made it harder to believe. "You have to stay awake and I need to stop the bleeding..." she needed to keep herself busy, not having time to think about what was really happening in front of her, even if the blood and kryptonite were making her sick.

"Hal..." Kara grabbed one of her hands to stop her, for the first time meeting her cousin's blue eyes, those that were full of tears at the moment.

"I love you" she could not avoid the tears for longer, hugging herself to the superhero.

"I love you too, baby girl" her cousin whispered, hugging her weakly.

She stayed still with her head resting on Kara's chest until she stop listening to her cousin's heartbeat, moment at which she burst into tears not wanting to let go.

She didn't know how much time passed until she finally pulled away, still holding her cousin's hand in between hers as tears were running down her cheeks.

"Supergirl is finally dead" Lex said, getting her to look at him with so much anger, her eyes turning red as she was getting ready to use her hest vision. "No, don't, I'm not the one to blame here, it's you" he pointed at her as she frowned. "She came to save you, you're the reason why she's dead and everyone it's going to blame you" he told her.

"That's not true" she barely murmured.

"It is, kid" he answered. "Do you think Alex Danvers is going to care that you're a kid? She's going to see you as the reason why her sister died, so as everyone else will" Lex explained while kneeling down in front of her as her lower lip trembled before starting crying again. "Oh, no, don't look at me like that, it's just the truth" he looked directly into her eyes as she sobbed.

Lex was right. It had been her fault, everyone would believe she was the reason why Supergirl was dead. They were going to hate her."

ALEX'S P.O.V

The nine year old was shaking, sitting against a wall, her knees close to her chest as her head rested on them. Her dark hair covered her face, a scratch being visible on her neck as well as a few drops of blood that covered the hoodie she was wearing.

"Halley" she whispered the name softly, being afraid of scaring the kid as she approached her.

The child's blue eyes were completely white, a blank expression on them while staring at hers, so she kneeled down quietly in front of the Kryptonian.

She was confused. They had set everyone's souls free, but apparently not Halley's since the little girl seemed to still be affected by the Phantom's scratch.

"Is she okay?" she heard Dreamer ask.

"I don't know" she sighed, trying to reach for the little one, only to see how Halley moved away in fear. "We need to take her to the Tower" she said, observing the child again. "It's okay. You're going to be okay" she told the kid, managing to touch her hand, it was freezing.

"It wasn't my fault. I didn't do it" the nine year old sobbed, getting her to stop moving. "Don't hate me, please" Halley begged looking directly into her eyes.

"I don't hate you, kiddo" she assured her, thinking that the little girl was talking about having run away. "Come on, let's take you somewhere safe" she tugged from the kid's hand to get her to stand up.

However, the little girl stumbled the moment she managed to get her up, so she looked at Mon-El, knowing that there was no other way they would be able to take the young Kryptonian to the Tower.

She observed how Halley closed her eyes when the daxamite picked her up, her tiny hands forming fists to held his cape as tightly as she could.

The nine year old fell asleep on the way back, only a little scratch remained when the kid was exposed to the yellow sun lights.

"Hey, sweetie" she caressed the child's cheek, encouraging her to open her eyes. "How are you feeling?" she asked as Halley stared at her for a few seconds before tears streamed down her little face.

"I didn't want it to happen. I couldn't stop him" the child couldn't avoid sobbing, so she took the little one in her arms. "Do you hate me?" Halley asked her in just a whisper, which only got her to frown, the kid really thought that she hated her.

"Why would I hate you, kiddo?" she asked, being confused about why the child was saying all of that.

"Kara is dead because of me" the nine year old answered in between sobs.

"Kara is not..." for a moment she stopped talking, remembering the fact that Halley was able to see Kara at the Phantom Zone. "Did you see something in your dreams?" she was panicking at that moment, maybe they were too late.

"No. Lex stabbed her" the little girl frowned, but she felt relieved, sitting the kid on the stretcher to take her tiny face in between her hands.

"Hey, listen to me, sweetie" she wiped the Kryptonian's tears. "Whatever you saw, it was because of a Phantom. Kara is alright, we're going to bring her back, okay?" she stared directly into the child's blue eyes. "And I don't hate you for what happened, Hal. I would never blame you for anything like that" she hugged her. "I love you so much, sweet girl" she kissed the little girl's forehead.

"I love you too" Halley whispered while clinging tightly to her, so she couldn't avoid increasing the strength of the hug, promising herself that she would never let that little girl believe that she hated her.

HALLEY'S P.O.V

She sat down next to Brainy, who looked at her before going back to eat a donut.

"Can I have one?" she asked him, pointing to the box, not being able to remember when had been the last time she had eaten that day.

"Um..., sure" the coluan answered, giving her one.

"Thanks" she smiled at him, getting him to smile slightly at her.

"You don't have to feel guilty because of your cousin being at the Phantom Zone" Brainy looked at her. "She was stopping Lex because of something I helped him with" he explained as she frowned.

"It's not your fault either" she answered him. "You didn't know. You were just trying to help" she told him, seeing how Brainy shooked his head, so she hugged him.

The coluan stayed still for a few seconds before hugging her as well, just keeping her embraced for as long as he could.

"You're the smartest and sweetest child I've ever met, Halley Danvers" Brainy told her, getting her to smile slightly before going back to eating the donut.

She looked up the moment she saw her best friend walking in with Comet, so she ran to great them, letting herself fall to her knees to embrace the puppy.

However, she couldn't avoid frowning the moment she heard Nia saying that they needed to go back in time looking for Kara's DNA.

"Can I go too?" she asked, being curious to see her cousin as a teenager.

"I'm sorry, kid, but no" Brainy answered her, getting her to frown angrily.

"It's dangerous, kiddo" Alex told her. "And we don't know how things could change if Kara saw you" the woman explained.

"Can we go to Argo then?" she asked, staring directly into Alex's eyes.

"Sure, Mon-El can take you" her cousin's sister answered.

"No. I want you to come with me" she said, seeing her hesitation for a few seconds.

"Um..., I'll go with you, kiddo" Alex smiled at her.

ALEX'S P.O.V

"Auntie!" Halley let go of her hand to run where Alura was, taking the woman by surprise.

"Hi, sweetheart" Kara's mom smiled while embracing the little girl, before looking at her and smile again.

"I'm sorry we came without a warning, Halley really insisted" she explained.

"You're always welcome here, Alex" Alura told her shortly before hugging her.

She smiled slightly. It wasn't exactly the first time she was in Argo, but it would be the first time she would be staying, which she had hoped to do with her sister as some point.

"We have to show Alex the market and the park and..." the nine year old exclaimed.

"Why don't you rest for today and tomorrow we show her around?" Alura asked, observing how the kid frowned before nodding.

"Okay" the child sighed, taking Comet's leash from her hand to start walking.

It had always amazed her seeing Argo in pictures, hearing her sister's stories, but being able to see it in person was incredible.

Once they were at Alura's house, the little girl took her hand to show her around the place, stopping in front of one of the doors before going back to the living room as if she was avoiding that room, which she was sure it was Kara's.

"How are things going?" Alura asked her the moment Halley was distracted with a notebook and some color pencils.

"We think we might have found a way to bring Kara back" she answered. "But it could take a few days, so we're waiting" she explained.

"Will it work?" Kara's mom looked at her, so much hope in her eyes.

"We hope so" she sighed, really wanting her little sister back to her side.

They had spent the whole day sightseeing around Argo, wishing her sister would have been there with her to teach her about the history of the city.

However, she couldn't complain about have had Halley like her guide, since the nine year old had tried her best to explain her everything.

She couldn't avoid looking away the moment she saw Astra approaching her, even after their conversation, she still felt nervous around the Kryptonian.

"Relax, agent Danvers, we're not enemies anymore or are we?" her sister's aunt joked. "How's Halley doing?" the woman asked.

"She's umm..." she paused, not knowing of she should tell her about the kid's dreams. "She's somehow connected to the Phantoms" she answered, seeing how Astra frowned. "I know it sounds crazy, but Halley has been having dreams about Kara in the Phantom Zone. She has been able to see her and report to us how Kara is doing" she tried to explain.

"How is that even possible?" the child's mom asked her, to which she didn't have an answer.

"I don't know" she shrugged. "At first I thought she was making it up, but I know she's not lying" she told her.

"So she's been able to talk to Kara?" Astra was confused and, honestly, she couldn't blame her, she had been feeling that way all that time.

"Not exactly. Kara is unaware that Halley is there" she answered, observing how the little girl was playing with Comet and Dev-Em. "They seem to get along" she couldn't avoid commenting.

"They have always gotten along. He's always been part of Halley's life" the woman explained while looking at them as well. "Is Non really dead?"

That question made her look away, not really wanting to answer it, since she was scared of Halley being able to hear them, to realize that they had been lying to her for years.

"Kara didn't killed him" she sighed. "When the DEO went back to that place, he was gone" she told her.

"So he's still out there?" Astra questioned her, to which she nodded. "He could try to find Halley" the Kryptonian was concerned about it.

"He's supposed to be blind" she tried to calm her down.

"But what if he's not?" Halley's mom asked, not giving her time to answer. "She doesn't know, right?"

"No. She would only beg not to go back with him, so it's was the best for her" she answered, knowing it had been her the one that had started that lie. "The day I met her, she had a broken rib and multiple bruises. She never told us the whole story, just that Non had gotten angry at her because she hadn't obeyed Indigo" she explained, closing her eyes for a few seconds. "She hasn't asked about him anymore, so we haven't insisted. Halley has enough with Lex" she told her.

"I know" Astra sighed. "I looked for her for months. I was determined to take her with me, but I saw her playing at the park with Kara... She was smiling and laughing. I knew she was safe" the Kryptonian explained while looking at the little girl.

The nine year old was sitting on the floor crying, moving away every time Dev-Em tried to hold her, only letting Comet rest his head on her lap.

"What happened?" Astra asked as they both approached them.

"I'm not sure" Dev-Em answered as she kneeled down in front of the kid.

"Hey, kiddo, what's wrong?" she asked, hoping for an answer, but the little one just kept crying.

"I couldn't stop him" Halley's blue eyes met hers as she fully understood what was happening.

Ever since the Phantom attacked her a few days ago, the little girl had been having a hard time not differencing if 'Kara's death' had really happened or not.

"It's okay, sweetie" she whispered, gently brushing the kid's hair away from her face. "You have to breathe. Focus on what you can see and touch" she told her, remembering how Kelly had been working recently whenever the child had a panic attack and it seemed to help.

Halley started murmuring names of objects before naming everyone in that room, taking her time to pet Comet, smiling a little when the puppy licked her face before hugging him.

"Are you feeling better?" she asked her, seeing how the kid nodded slightly as she pulled her into a hug. "Everything is alright, kiddo, I promise" she told her, kissing Halley's hair before pulling away.

"Is she okay?" Alura asked.

"She was attacked by a Phantom a few days ago and she had a fear vision of Kara dying" she answered, observing how the little girl had come back to playing with Comet.

"Fear visions only happen when you're in their dimension, it's not possible in Earth" Alura said. "Not even for Halley" the woman added, to which she frowned slightly.

"That would only confirm that she's bonded to them" she pointed out, seeing confusion on Alura's face. "She's been having dreams about Kara in the Phantom Zone. She's able to see her, but Kara doesn't seem to be aware of Halley being there" she explained.

"I thought that was a myth" Kara's mom commented. "Only people that practiced witchcraft were able to do it. I heard about it a few times, families trying to reach to their love ones through the witches" the Kryptonian told them as everything started to make sense.

"What about Jindah?" she asked. "She chose Halley and then she was used by Selena to rebirth Reing, Could it be the source from it?" she questioned Alura.

"It could be. The demons were fed by her fear, it could be happening the same each time she projects herself into the Phantom Zone" the woman answered.

"Is it dangerous for her?" Astra asked as Halley stood up, her little arms wrapping around her, so she hugged her back.

"I'm not sure" Alura sighed while staring at the little girl, who, at that point, was hiding her face as if she was scared.

"It's okay" she whispered, stroking the kid's hair, just wanting to calm her down. "There's something more" she said, getting everyone to look at her. "Kara isn't alone. Zor-El survived" she told them.

At that moment everyone remained in silence, observing how Alura shook her head in disbelief as her twin sister embraced her.

She knew it was going to take time for them to process the information, but it was for the best since at some point he would return to Argo once they had freed them from the Phantom Zone.

HALLEY'S P.O.V

She held to Mon-El's hand tightly since she had promised that she would not leave his side while the rescue of her cousin was taken place.

It had taken her time to convince Alex to let her go with them, not even her mom agreed to it, but she had insisted. She wanted to be there to welcome Kara.

At that moment she was sitting on a stretcher as Lena and Brainy made sure that it was safe for her to go to the Phantom Zone.

"It's a possibility that Halley will fall asleep as soon as we reach the Phantom Zone" Lena commented after a few seconds. "If what Alura said it's true, the phantoms are going to detect her here and try to feed from her energy... Her fears" the woman explained.

"It will drain her energy" Alex pointed out as she gripped tighter to Mon-El's hand. "I can't risk her life" she shook her head.

"I want to go too" she murmured. "Please" she begged, staring directly into Alex's eyes.

"As long as she's here under the sun lamps and being monitored closely, she'll be fine" Brainy said.

"Fine" her cousin's sister sighed. "But you have to listen to Mon-El, okay?" Alex told her, getting her to nod slightly. "It'll be alright, kiddo" the woman embraced her before kissing her forehead and leave with the rest of the team.

"I'll come to check on you, Hal" Brainy told her while switching on the sun lamps.

As soon as they were alone, Mon-El picked her up, her head resting on his shoulder while closing her eyes, not sure of what would happen when they reached the Phantom Zone.

She gripped to Mon-El's cape the moment he laid her down on the stretcher as her eyes fought to remain open, embracing Saffire with one of her arms.

"I'm here. I'm not leaving you, kiddo" the daxamite brushed her hair away from her face. "It's okay" he whispered, kissing her forehead before holding her hand.

She looked at him one last time before closing her eyes, eventually falling asleep.

"Kara was sitting on the ground with her back against a rock, her head down, so she didn't doubt about approaching her.

Her heart pounded heavily in her chest as she kneeled down in front of her cousin, being completely terrified the moment her eyes met Kara's, they were white, the superhero had been attacked by a phantom.

"Halley?" it was barely a whispered, but it managed to bring a little smile to her face. "No... I can't lose you... They're going to hurt you, you have to leave" her cousin shook her head while trying to stay away from her, to which she frowned. "Leave!"

She couldn't avoid flinching when her cousin yelled at her, needing from a few seconds to calm down before sitting down next to her, holding her hand. She wasn't leaving anywhere.

"Halley, listen to me" Kara grabbed her shoulders. "Leave before it's too late" her cousin ordered her.

"No" she shook her head. "I'm not leaving you" she told her, refusing to let go of her. "We're coming. We're going to rescue you" she said, hoping her cousin's expression would change, but it didn't, instead she looked more concerned.

"You're all going to die. You're all going to because of me" Supergirl pointed to herself, her voice sounding horrified by that fact.

"No, we won't" she tried to calm her down, but Kara just stared blankly without answering.

"Kara, look" Zor-El called while approaching. "Look at this. I made this because we're going to go on" he said while showing a crutch. "We have to keep moving"

"What's the point? There's no way out" Kara answered. "You and Nyxly were right all along. And yet, I dragged you out of your one safe place and pushed you to hope... when there is none" the superhero spoke without even making eye contact.

"There's always hope" her cousin's father said.

"Hope is naive" Kara answered as she gripped at her when the ground shook. "I was naive. And arrogant to think that I could ever actually fix anything" her cousin said. "And worse... my friends think that they can, too. And they're just going to die because of it" those words only got her to close her eyes, being truly upset.

"That's not true" she whispered, only wanting the Kara she knew back.

"You can fix things. You fixed me" Zor-El brushed her daughter's hair out of her face. "I cried so many tears here. I cried for you. For your mother. For Krypton, my brother, my entire life... I cried for everyone I ever lost, all the people I loved and would never see again" he made a paused. "I cried a river, an ocean of tears, until there was nothing left in me, until you came and you filled me up with your spirit, your love. And now I won't give up again" he shook his head as she hoped for Kara to listen to him. "Even if your friends never find us, we'll find our way out. I know we can because we're together. And together, nothing can stop us" he told her, seeing how her cousin eyes turned back to normal.

"We're going to find you" she whispered, even though Kara couldn't hear her."

"It's okay, kiddo" she heard Mon-El's voice as she was waking up. "You're safe" he told her when she opened her eyes.

Her superhearing picked up a door sliding as well as her cousin and Alex's voice, so she held Saffire in her arms before jumping from the stretcher, not listening when Mon-El tried to stop her.

They were all around Alex and Kara, so she walked towards them, getting Nia's attention, who smiled at her before moving so she could get closer.

"Kara" she named her in barely a whisper, tears streaming down her cheeks the moment her cousin looked at her.

Kara kneeled down as she threw herself into her arms, hiding her face in her cousin's neck as both of them continued crying.

"Don't leave me again" she sobbed, clinging tightly to Supergirl's cape. "Please"

"I'm not leaving you ever again, baby" Kara kissed her hair before pulling her away a little, just enough to be able to observe her. "I've missed you so much" her cousin whispered while wiping with her thumbs the tears from her face.

"I've missed you too" she answered as her cousin pulled her into a hug again. "I love you" she whispered.

"I love you too, baby girl" Kara tightened the hug shortly before standing up, still holding her.

She didn't move, just resting her head on her cousin's shoulder when Alex approached to embrace them, only closing her eyes while focusing on Kara's heartbeat, relaxing.

She smiled slightly. They were finally reunited.

Hi!!

I truly thought I would be able to finish this chapter sooner, but here we are, only a week away from Supergirl's return!

It's sad to think that it's ending, but, at the same time, it's exciting that it's coming back. It's been such a long wait.

Thanks so much for reading, let me know what you think,

Ayrin
