HALLEY'S P.O.V.
She was only focused on Lex. Never leaving him out of her sight as she tried to protect Esme, keeping her distance from Nyxly since she was unsure if she should trust the imp or not.
"I'm never going to see my moms again" she was able to hear Esme whisper, which got her to frown, hoping for them to be found.
"Of course you are" Lex answered. "This beautiful kind woman will make sure that you do" he said while pointing to Nyxly.
She could not avoid opening her mouth ready to protest, but the sign he made, got her to look away in fear.
However, she went back to be in alert when the fifth dimensional imp kneeled down in front of Esme, so she got herself in between them, just wanting to keep her little cousin safe.
"I'm not going to hurt her" Nyxly told her, but she did not move.
"She's stubborn. She's not going to move" it was Lex who talked before looking directly into her eyes. "Why don't you come with me? So we give them a little space, huh?" he asked while offering his hand for her to hold.
She looked in between them. She did not really have an option, not after seeing how he was looking at her, so after calming herself down, she grabbed his hand.
Lex took her to a different room, neither of them saying a word, not even after they both sat down on a couch, having to close her eyes as she could not bear the memories from when he had kidnapped her previously.
"You know?" she broke the silence since she needed to know the truth.
"That you're a Kryptonian?" he asked, getting her to nod. "I've always known, kid" Lex answered. "I know everything… Like how you traveled to the future with my sister's help" he added, giving her chills.
"What do you want from Esme?" she asked.
"Just the totem" that answered did not calm her down, it worried her even more. "Okay, enough chatting" he said while grabbing her left arm, getting her to shake her head when she saw the bracelet. "You know what it does, right?" Lex looked at her.
"No, please" she begged him.
"I need to make sure that you won't do anything stupid, Kryptonian" he told her as she flinched because of the tiny needle already poking her skin.
She stayed with her head down, not being able to shake her fear away, but being aware that she couldn't lose control if she wanted to keep Esme safe.

"Can I draw with you?" she asked Esme while sitting on the chair next to her, which only got the little girl to look at her before nodding slightly. "Are you okay?"
Esme stared at her for a few more seconds before going back to coloring, so she did the same, taking a paper and some coloring pencils, she started drawing.
She had been avoiding spending time with Esme for weeks, so it wasn't a surprise that the little girl would not answer her questions because it was exactly the exact same thing she had been doing.
"I'm drawing my moms so I can remember them" Esme finally said.
"They will find us" she told her, wanting to sound reassuring, but she was terrified of how much time they would spend there.
"They don't know where we are" the little girl pointed out.
"They're superheroes. They will know" she answered, really wanting to believe her own words.
They both remained in silence for the next few minutes, just focusing on their respective drawings as she was trying her best to avoid every single bad feeling she was having.
"Do you have a mom?" that question from Esme confused her, but she nodded slightly. "Then, Why do you live with Kara?"
"Kara is like a mom to me. She took me in after we thought my mom had died" she answered. "But she's alive. She lives in Argo. Maybe someday you can come to visit the city" she offered, trying to keep a smile on her face.
"Yeah" Esme agreed while smiling back at her.
The moment the little girl went back to drawing, she lost her smile, not knowing if things were going to get even worse.
-/-
She was lying down on the bed, being scared of what would happen if she let her guard down, so she tried her best to remain awake as Esme slept.
She tensed the moment she saw the door opening, sitting up ready to attack, but she stayed still when Nyxly walked inside.
"You should be sleeping too" the fifth dimensional imp commented while getting closer to her. "I see you still don't trust me. I'm not going to hurt either of you" the woman told her as she relaxed slowly, knowing those words were true.
"It's not you who I don't trust" she murmured, her head down.
"Lex?" Nyxly asked, to which she nodded slightly. "You knew him from before, didn't you? Did he hurt you before?" those questions took her by surprise, but all she could do was nodding, not finding words to answer. "I can assure you he won't hurt you this time, kid" the woman assured her.
She remained in silence, looking down, not being sure of how much Nyxly could protect her from Lex if he decided to hurt her.
"You know, you have a really special gift, Halley" Nyxly dared to brush her hair away from her face, getting her to frown. "You have magic in you"
"I don't" she shook her head, it was not possible.
"You do" the fifth dimensional imp said while grabbing her right hand.
A small blue orb appeared above her hand, like a little flame moving as she moved her fingers, but she could not trust that it was herself doing that, even if she couldn't avoid a little smile on her face.
"It's cool, isn't it?" Nyxly smiled at her, just as the little orb scaped from her hand, hitting one of the walls, which scared her. "It's okay, you just need a little bit of practice" the imp soothed her.
"Are you going to hurt my cousin?" she could not avoid asking, looking directly into the woman's eyes.
"Hurt her?" Nyxly asked. "Well, I want the totems… So I guess it depends on what happens tomorrow" that answered only got her to look away. "But don't worry about it, okay?" the woman told her. "Try to sleep a little bit"
She laid down without saying anything else, not daring to close her eyes, not even when Nyxly caressed her hair, but slowly falling asleep.
She woke up because of Nyxly yelling, not understanding what was going on, but not doubting about hugging Esme in an attempt to keep her safe after hearing her scream.
The dagger in Lex's hand only got her to close her eyes for a few seconds, barely listening to the discussion between Nyxly and him.
"Girls, come on, let's get you both back to your family" Nyxly told them, so she released Esme from the hug, letting the imp picked up the little girl.
However, just as she walked past Lex, she felt his hand on her shoulder, stopping her.
"I'm not giving up the Kryptonian child" Lex said.
"Let go of her" Nyxly asked as she tried to pull away from him, kryptonite starting to spread through her veins. "You're hurting her, stop!" the imp yelled at him, but that did not make him stop.
"The plan was to bring that kid back with her family, we didn't say anything about her" he pointed out. "If something is going to make Supergirl to bring us the totems is her. So, no, I'm not letting her go until we can be sure those totems are ours" Lex explained as Nyxly observed her, her knees bending because of how weak she was.
"And I told you there's no we" Nyxly was angry. "She's coming with me, Lex" the woman said, grabbing her arm to pull from her, finally getting Lex to let go.
The moment the sun light hit her skin, the effects from the kryptonite seemed to disappear, still feeling a little weak, but not as bad as before.
When they got to the bridge, she expected to see her cousin there, but that was not the case, so she could not avoid worrying about what could have happened to Kara.
"We're doing it at the same time" Nyxly said.
She let go of Esme's hand to let her run to Kelly as she walked towards Nia, who embraced her tightly as a way to reassure her
"Are you okay?" Nia pulled her away to observe her.
"Kryptonite" she murmured, seeing how the young woman nodded before hugging her again.
She turned around as Esme yelled, barely having time to react when the bridge shook seconds before collapsing.
Her whole body ached because of the impact, sitting behind a debris as the heroes fought against Nyxly and Lex, really trying to catch her breath.
"Stay here" Nia told her, appearing in front of her but even though she nodded, she didn't obey.
They all wanted the All Stone and she knew what would happen if Lex or Nyxly would manage to get it, so remembering what she had learned about herself only a few hours ago, she tried to use her magic.
It felt weird. It was as if electricity was running through her body before her hands glowed in a blueish color.
None was paying her attention, so she took that to her advantage before trying to find a way to get the stone closer to her. However, the moment she touched it, it was as if a huge amount of power got into her.
"Halley, stop that, you're gonna get hurt" Nyxly screamed at her, getting everyone attention.
"Hal, baby, drop it" Kara asked her, approaching her slowly, so she tried, but she couldn't.
As the stone finally slipped from her hand, her own blast of energy hit her cousin, which only got her to panic as she saw Supergirl lying on the ground.
She stared down at her hands. Tears clouded her eyes at the thought of having hurt her cousin, already hating those magical powers. For a few seconds, everyone just stared at her in complete silence, but before they could stop her, she flew away from there.
She got herself under her cousin's bed, just as when she was younger and completely terrified. It helped her to feel safe, at least there she wouldn't be able to hurt anyone else, but she knew it was just matter of time before Kara would find her.
It had taken all her strength to get to the apartment, still feeling the effects of the kryptonite. However, she remained in alert when she heard steps of someone approaching.
"Hey, baby" her cousin's eyes met hers, which only got her to look away. "Can you come out?" Kara asked her, but she shook her head, getting as farther as she could from her reach. "I know you're scared. And it's okay"
"I don't want to hurt you" she whispered, not knowing if a new blast of magic was going to come out her hands.
"You won't, baby. I know you won't" Kara answered, stretching out her arm so she could hold her hand, which she did slowly. "That's it, sweetie" her cousin encouraged her as she came out of her hiding spot.
She broke down the moment the older Kryptonian embraced her, getting out all the feelings she had bottled up. A lot of things had happened and she hadn't had time to process all of them. It was too much. She pulled away from her cousin when the memories from what had happened the night before assaulted her.
"William?" she asked, staring at her cousin's eyes.
"I'm sorry, baby" Kara whispered, gently caressing her face as she closed her eyes, new tears rolling down her cheeks.
"I wanted to call you… I…" her voice cracked in between sobs, she should have tried harder.
"Shh, it's okay. You did everything you could, Hal" her cousin assured her. "You protected Esme. You were so brave, baby" Kara hugged her again, that time she hid her face in her cousin's shoulder.
"I don't want this" she said while pulling away, looking at her hands.
"The magic?" Kara asked, to which she nodded. "Your necklace can help with that. If you wear it, you won't be able to use it. And when you feel ready, we can start working so you can control it, okay?" her cousin grabbed her face. "I will be by your side, I promise" the older Kryptonian kissed her forehead. "And now let's go, there's someone waiting for you at the Tower"
She held tightly to her cousin as they flew to the Tower, not really wanting to let go of her when they got there, when everyone went silent before looking at them.
"It's okay, baby" Kara whispered, trying to calm her down.
"How is she feeling?" Alex asked, approaching them.
"Scared" Kara answered.
"Can I see the bracelet?" the woman tried to grabbed her left arm, but she moved it away, her skin still sore. "Okay, I won't touch it, kiddo" Alex caressed her face.
"Is she okay?" she turned her head when she heard his voice. "Hi, kiddo" Mon-El smiled at her.
She gripped tightly to her cousin's cape when the daxamite tried to hold her, burying her face in Kara's neck. She only felt safe in Supergirl's arms at the moment.
Her eyes remained closed during their time at the Tower. The memories from what had happened the night before were too haunting, not even being able to stare where William had laid the last time she had seen him. Maybe if she had helped them with the baking, she would have been able to stop Lex from killing William.
She only relaxed when she wore her necklace again, she didn't have to be in control of powers that she didn't even understand.
"No" she shook her head, taking her left arm away from Alex. "It hurts" she complained in tears, her cousin hugging her tightly.
"I know, sweetie" Alex stroked her hair, trying to calm her down. "It's going to hurt for a little bit, but it'll be over soon, okay?" the woman told her, so she nodded.
The moment Alex pulled from the bracelet, the needle pierced her skin, more kryptonite being released to her system as she couldn't control her sobs.
"Shh, it's over, baby" Kara whispered, leaving kisses at the top of her head. "I got you, baby girl" her cousin reassured her.
She leaned into her cousin's embrace while closing her eyes. She was safe, she knew that, but her mind was still wandering through the events of the last twenty hours.
"Esme?" she asked, looking at Alex while waiting for an answer.
"She's okay, thanks to you" the woman answered, to which she nodded slightly. "She told us how you kept her safe when Lex tried to hurt her" her cousin's sister tucked her brown hair behind her ears. "You were so brave, kiddo. You may be young, but you already have the heart of a hero. Don't ever doubt that" Alex looked at her sister, before looking back at her, gently caressing her face.
As they walked outside of the infirmary, she finally walked by herself to Mon-El, her arms stretched for him to hold her, which he did with a huge smile on his face.
"I missed you, kiddo" he whispered, kissing her forehead. "Are you feeling better?" Mon-El asked, to which she shrugged. "I'm so sorry you had to go through all of that again, sweetie" her best friend told her as she snuggled to him. "I have something that is yours" he said giving her the necklace.
She took it in her hands without being able to avoid the smile on her face. He had kept his promise. Mon-El had come back as he said he would and she couldn't deny her happiness about having her best friend back.
"Am I not getting a hug?" she heard a different voice that she knew really well. "Hi, Hal" Winn smiled at her.
He took her from Mon-El's arms to embrace her, holding her in his arms as tight as possible, her smile growing wider.
"You're getting so big, Hal" Winn commented, tickling her sides.
She giggled, trying to push herself away from him, but he didn't let her and it wasn't until Mon-El helped her, that she managed to get away from Winn's attack.
"Who made her giggle?" Kara approached them. "I'm glad you're feeling better, baby" her cousin caressed her hair. "We're going home, we'll see them tomorrow, okay?" Kara told her, getting her to nod slightly.
Kara insisted on watching a movie in an attempt to make her feel better.
They both settled down on the couch, her head resting on her cousin's lap, who was stroking her hair, as she held Saffire in between her arms. Comet found his place right next to the couch, calming down the moment she scratched right behind his ears.
"Have I told you how much I love you?" her cousin questioned her, to which she shook her head playfully. "I haven't, cuddle bug?" Kara tickled her, getting her to giggle.
She tried to push her away, but all she could do was laughing, managing to roll off of the couch, almost falling on Comet. Both of them laughing as the puppy licked her face.
"Careful, baby" Kara grabbed her by her arms to help her to sit up, but she didn't trust her. "No more tickles, I promise" the older Kryptonian held up her hands, so she threw herself into her cousin's arms. "I love you so much, baby" her cousin kissed her forehead.
"I love you too" she answered with her face buried in her cousin's neck, drifting off to sleep as her cousin held her close.
-/-
"Kara!" she let go of Mon-El's hand to run to her cousin, who welcomed her in a tight hug.
"Hi, sweetie" Kara kissed the top of her head while keeping her embraced.
It had been weeks since they had defeated Nyxly and Lex. They had been pretty hard weeks to be honest, being awaken at night because of the nightmares and memories from that day.
She was healing slowly, going to therapy again was starting to help her. But, still, she needed to know where her older cousin was constantly, just in case she would need her.
"Kara, you're ready?" Cat Grant approached them, taking her time to observe her. "Look at her! She's not so little anymore" the woman commented, to which her cousin laughed.
"No, she's not" Kara tucked a strand of her brown hair behind her right ear. "She'll be ten in a few days" her cousin commented as she smiled shyly.
As soon as Cat left them alone, she turned to look at her cousin, not being able to hide the fear that was reflected in her blue eyes.
"It's going to be okay" her cousin assured her as she sighed.
"What if now that they know you're Supergirl, they try to hurt you?" she asked.
"I don't know, baby. But if it happens, we'll figure it out" Kara answered, her hands grabbing her face. "And if they try to hurt you, they will have to go through me" her cousin told her.
She nodded. Kara kissed her forehead before approaching Cat Grant as Mon-El got closer to her, his hand on her shoulder as they both watched the interview.
"It's done" her cousin smiled nervously before picking her up. "Thanks for coming"
"You know it wasn't a problem" Mon-El smiled back at her. "We should go celebrate it" he said.
"What do you say, baby?" Kara asked her.
"Ice cream!" she exclaimed.
"Ice cream it is" Kara chuckled, kissing her cheek.
The interview was not going to be released until the night, so they were going to enjoy their last hours without everyone knowing Supergirl's identity.
She smiled, being aware that everything was going to change within the next few hours, but at least they still had each other.
Hi!
It has taken me months to finally finish this chapter. I started it right after the series finale, but I've been going back and forth about what I really wanted to write.
I think I've been holding on the chapter because I knew it would be the last. It's the end of a story a love so much. However, maybe at some point I may add new chapters.
Thanks so much for reading this story, let me know what you think,
Ayrin
