Arriving at the guildhall, Bickslow made a beeline to the busty blond. She was sitting with her team. Ignoring the curious looks from her teammates, he tapped her on the shoulder.
Lucy turned around with a shout. She hadn't heard anyone coming up to her. With a heavily beating heart, Lucy noticed the seith mage. Blushing bright red in embarrassment, she stuttered out a hi. Her gaze wandered automatically up to Pappa. "Hii there, little one, I missed you this morning," she added much more brightly, already forgetting her mortification. "Are we still on for our date this afternoon?"
Before Pappa even had a chance to respond, Bickslow went down in a sweeping bow. "My fair lady, it grieves my heart to admit I have done you a great wrong." Did Erza just move? "There you were fighting your sexy limbs for my dear Pappa. And I haven't even thanked you. So here I am, thanking you, our beloved princess, on my knees." Just as he said, he went down on his knees. "However you may want to collect my thanks. I'm just a shout away." Grinning widely, he let his tongue fall out of his mouth, moving it suggestively.
"Step away from Lucy," a cold voice interrupted him. It seemed that Erza had had enough of his shenanigans. She held her blade by his throat, glaring fiercely at him. Still flustered from the spectacle Bickslow had made, Lucy fluttered her hands. "No need for that," she said, mortified. She had never been more glad Erza had made it her personal mission to be her chastity belt.
"I'm going, I'm going," Bickslow said, trying to ease the redhead's anger. Not being able to help himself, he winked at Lucy. Not that she would see it through his visor. It was the thought that counted. Turning around, he went to the second floor.
Lucy just rolled her eyes. She hadn't expected anything better from their resident seith mage. In fact, she had anticipated far worse. The blond would never have thought he'd apologize. He even seemed serious about the favour she could collect from him. "Calm down, Erza. At least he thanked me for bringing his darling totem back."
Erza quirked an eyebrow. "Darling... Totem..?" she replied unsurely. "When did this happen? It does not excuse that.. that.. DEVIANT for acting in such a way. That was an honorless thanks." Lucy blinked at her red-headed friend. She had never heard Erza stammer so much. It was rather unlike her friend. Bickslow really had a knack for making people feel wrong-footed. Her most of all. She could still see in her mind's eye the way his eyes went from deep red to a vibrant green. It had been one of the most beautiful things she had ever seen. That he thereupon tried to take over her soul to direct her body during Fantasia, that was something she preferably not think about. "Well?" Erza asked forcefully, "why do you address the totem of such a heathen as darling?"
"Didn't you see him yesterday? When I was talking to Levi? Pappa was there as well."
Erza looked in deep thought. "No, I can't say I have. Forgive me for my oversight. How did this come to be?"
"Well.." Lucy began and told Erza all about her encounter with Pappa. When she was in the middle of her story, Gray and Lisanne had joined the table. Since the two seemed at a loss, Lucy threw Erza an apologetic look and began her tale anew. Not long after her retelling was done, the doors to the guildhall burst open.
"Lucy," Natsu shouted really loud, "according to Wendy you don't have enough for breakfast. So we caught you some fish." He proceeded to dump at least twenty fish, some of which were still alive, in her lap.
"EEEEEEEK," Lucy shouted out in horror. She frantically tried to remove the fish from her body. "My clothes," the blond whimpered. She'd never get the smell out of them. It had been hard to learn how to use the washing machine. This smell, she knew she wouldn't get it out of her clothes. "Natsu!" she shouted, enraged. The pink-haired dragon slayer backed away with a dumbfounded look. It was clear he didn't know what was going on.
"Luce?" he asked uncertainly. "What's wrong? Wendy told us it is needed to eat more, even though it makes you fat. So I brought you this fish." He ended with a happy grin. Clearly thinking he was a great friend. Besides herself with rage, Lucy stood up. She felt the fish splatter to the ground. Trying not to hear the squirming alive ones, the young woman placed her hardest Lucy-kick yet at her best friend. She couldn't believe the gall of him. She already struggled not to think of herself as fat. She had needed proof from the dietist to acknowledge it even.
Natsu flew through the hall, smashing right through one of the pillars. "What the hell, Luce?" he shouted indignantly. "I just did something nice for you!"
"You call that nice, flame-brain?" Gray bit out, having already lost his shirt. His glare was focussed on Natsu, giving Juvia the perfect moment to sneakily grab his shirt. She held it to her face taking in the scent it gave off. 'This is much better,' she thought. Looking at her love rival, she saw how her pink-haired maiden arrived in a flash of stars. "Punishment, princess?" she heard the spirit say. Juvia knew she had to keep a close eye on the celestial mage. Her darling Gray paid too much attention to the blonde. She had to do something about it. If love rival had another man than her beloved, Gray would seize to pay as much attention to love rival. Giving her the perfect spot to nestle in. It hadn't escaped her awareness that love rival was bonding with one of Bickslow's totems. That could be her in. Juvia couldn't deny that her love rival was a lovely mage. Lucy was kind, forgiving, pretty and sexy to boot. Everything a man dreamed of. Juvia decided that Bickslow would be that man. The other members of the Thunder Legion would also suffice in a pinch. With a scheming grin on her face, Juvia slinked back into the shadows, still clutching Gray's shirt.
"I'm going home, you guys," Lucy spoke loudly, grabbing the attention of the (again fighting) wizards. Virgo had taken the fish to the celestial world and promised to wash her clothes for her. The clueless spirit had tried to take her clothes off right in the middle of the guildhall. This gave Lucy ample reason to hurry her way home. She wouldn't be surprised if her spirit followed through. The only problem was that she had meant to meet Pappa later on. Grabbing a piece of paper, she quickly wrote a note to the darling totem. She handed it to Mira, making her promise to give it to Pappa if she wasn't back on time. If she hurried, she would be back on time.
