"She's got to be pregnant, right?" Isabel was watching Aaron, Emily and Rosie with an eagle eye. She was just keeping an eye on her daughter, she told herself, certainly not trying to tell from 50 feet away if Emily was drinking champagne. There were bubbles, but it looked like it might be a slightly different color then Aaron's drink.

"Certainly a possibility." It was bad when even Seth was done with this line of speculation, he usually loved to gossip with her.

"Why else would they go from zero to married in less than three months?"

"Well, I think we all know they weren't exactly at zero."

"You know what I mean."

"Maybe Aaron just wanted to strike when the iron was hot."

"Maybe." She sighed, resting her chin in the palm of her hand.

"What's really bothering you Iz?"

"Its stupid, but all the time we've been joking about it, it never really occurred to me that if she is, that will be Rosie's brother or sister."

"That is how these things tend to go. Even if she's not pregnant now, I'm guessing it's only a matter of time."

"Rosie's going to have this whole family I'm not a part of." Isabel swallowed, she was not going to cry at her ex's wedding. Her other thought felt too petty to share; but her house had always been Rosie's home, and Aaron's place was somewhere she visited, that switching, or having to admit it had never really been the case in anyone's mind but her own was something she wasn't ready to face.

"We could do more to be a part of it. Aaron and Emily have been bugging us to do more stuff as a group."

"It's not the same."

"No, but it's something. It's better than what we're doing now." Seth hated conflict. She knew that, just as much as she knew it was for the best that she and Aaron get along as well as possible. But it was just so hard to avoid picking fights with him.

"I just- you guys-" Her voice broke, apparently she was going to be the one crying at her ex's wedding. "You have this whole strange trauma bonded threesome thing that I'm never really going to be a part of. And then they'll have their family, and you'll be Uncle Seth and I'm- I've always been the center of Rosie's world. I'm just going to be a castoff."

"Iz. You'll always be her mother. Nothing is ever going to change that." Seth wrapped an arm around her. "And I'm your husband first. Way ahead of my friendship with Emily and Aaron."

"I know." She said, wiping away the tears from her eyes.

"If we take Emily up on board game night we can be a trauma bonded foursome."

"Does it have to be game night?" The thought of playing charades with Seth, Emily and Aaron practically made her break out in hives. Trauma bonded was right.

"No, but she's not going to keep inviting us over forever. So we should pick something we can tolerate."

"Can we find something Aaron sucks at?"

"You didn't hear it from me, but dude can't play poker to save his life."

"Poker? You'd think our Vice President would have a poker face."

"It's not that. He's overconfident. I've seen him go all in on a pair of fours."

"Hmm."

"And Emily basically folds unless she has a royal flush, we'll take them to the cleaners, easy."

"Ok, poker night. I think we can do that."

"Come on, let's go congratulate the happy couple."

She rolled her eyes, but after checking to make sure her makeup hadn't run she followed Seth up to them. She smiled as Rosie launched herself into her arms yelling "Mommy!" and then almost immediately bounced back down so everyone could watch her twirl in the flower girl dress.

She could do this for Rosie she decided, be nicer to Aaron, try and get along with Emily. So she and Seth pulled over chairs and they stayed and chatted for a bit, and she tried not to mind that Rosie sat on Aaron's lap the entire time, after all it was his wedding. And really, she was only the tiniest bit relieved when Seth 'accidentally' drank from Emily's glass and winking at her whispered, "it's booze." She just needed a little time to adjust was all.
