...

A strike to the center eye finished the tank of XANA's monster. He tried desperately to even out his breathing but it wasn't working. Izuku had taken a devastating blow to his ribs. If they had been in the real world he was sure they would have broken. His health was low too low for him to keep fighting like this. Yet he couldn't just stop. They had to get to the Tower and stop XANA's influence. He couldn't get out into the world.

Shinsou asked touching his shoulder, "Can you keep going?"

Breathlessly Izuku nodded. He didn't have it in him to speak the words. There was no choice. Either they succeeded or they failed.

In his ear, Hatsume said, "Izuku you should hang back. Let Kavar and Shinsou clear a path so that you can get to the Tower."

"I can't just abandon them," denied Izuku even as the two rushed back into the battle, "I need to keep going."

"Izuku," came her exasperated response.

He simply smiled tiredly before following after then. Twice more found him putting his sword into monsters. The rest had been cleared by Shinsou and Kavar.

Pushing his tired body he made the final rush to the Tower. It was red instead of the blue it should have been. A sign that the Tower was infected. He stumbled into the Tower heading straight for the XANA symbol. Reaching the middle of the eye caused the screen to appear. Code. Here he activated his quirk.

Code Lyoko.

Around him, the Tower returned to the normal blue. And that was when Izuku collapsed. He was only out for a few minutes but when he came to Mei was tapping his cheek with her hand. Below him, he could feel the cold metal of the transporter. The metallic scent of blood filled his nostrils. It took a second for him to realize that it was from his nose bleeding.

Mei helped him into a sitting position as the other transporters let Kavar and Shinsou out. The two stumbled out but they could still stand. Izuku was sure if he tried to stand he would collapse again.

Mei chided, "You shouldn't have gone in again so soon. The use of the program does not return your strength to you. You've been up for almost two days now."

Izuku yawned, "I'm fine. It's nothing that a good night's sleep won't fix."

His friends frowned deeply. At this point, he couldn't care less about anything other than getting to his sleeping bag.

Shinsou tried to negotiate, "How about we all get something to eat and then go to bed. It's been a long couple of days and I'm sure we could all use the rest."

Both Izuku and Mei opened their mouths to disagree. Izuku because he wasn't hungry and just wanted to sleep for a week. Mei because she wanted to tell him off for overdoing it again. Then they considered each other before nodding. With the aid of Mei and Kavar, he was able to get to his rooms. There he was given a bottle of water and a ration bar. Both were downed quickly before he collapsed back onto his sleeping bag. There he fell into a dreamless sleep.

All four vigilantes slept late the next day a side effect of using the program. Mei was forced to get up at ten by her parents. It wasn't until late in the afternoon that the group was all in the computer room. Mei brought them all warm soup and fresh bread for dinner as well as other supplies. They dug into the food with increased gusto.

Warm food in their bellies nearly made them want to go back to sleep. Mei however said, "We can't do that again. If there is an attack from XANA and we have to use back to the past again only half should go into the Tower. We need to keep rested and avoid overusing your quirk Izuku."

Izuku sighed, "My quirk is necessary to deactivate the Towers."

Shinsou said with a look toward Izuku, "I have to agree with Mei. We should take turns patrolling and if we suspect that XANA is up to something that Kavar or I go."

Again he wanted to argue but from the corner of his eyes, he saw Kavar nod. That made him bite his lip in annoyance. They had agreed when they started this that decisions would be made as a team. That meant he was outvoted in this instance. For now, he would have to abide by the ruling.
