Chapter VI (Part 3):

Third Person POV (34 BBY)

After the fateful day of the assassination attempt on the Queen, Padme and Percy had been dating. Both we very happy and it reflected in their lives. Ruwee was happy for them both. Percy had started spending more time with the Naberrie family and was already like a son-in-law to them. After Percy started dating Padme. Panaka, Ruwee, and Typho took him out drinking as kind of a celebration. They all got so drunk, they had to be picked up to the laughs of Padme and Jobal. It was during this night the men of Naboo finally figured out Percy's life day. The next day, while sober, Percy tried to deny it but everyone remembered.

For the next three years the 3 men, Jobal and Padme tried to throw parties for him. They only managed to get him to one and it was his 21 life day. Padme had to literally drag him to her family estate to celebrate.

The young couple was happy. After they started dating they had moved in together with the blessing of Padme's family and the Queen. They both continued doing what they loved, Percy as a guard and Padme as a handmaiden.

Percy had also discovered a new talent. With research help from R2, Percy discovered he had limited Force abilities due to being untrained. Percy realized that was how he had disarmed the Crawdite assassin. Percy read all he could about it and confided in Padme in what he learned. She embraced him but told him that he probably wouldn't be able to do much as training started when children were discovered as a baby by the Jedi temple.

Percy took this in stride and trained as much as he could. Him and R2 found a blueprint for a lightsaber. With 2 years of dedication and searching for parts. Percy was able to construct a lightsaber, though only Padme knew about it. She was there to witness him constructing it. The crystal, which he had found underwater near the Naberrie estate, reminded him of Atlantis. The blade, when ignited, was the same sea green color of his eyes. Every day Percy spent practing with it in their shared home. It become an extension of his arm, just like Riptide had once been. In honor of his new and old family, he named the saber Oikos.

But the peace and prosperity of Naboo did not last. In the year 34 BBY, there was another attempt on the Queen's life. This time it was successful. There was planetwide mourning. Percy, who was still relatively new to the planet, did not know how a new monarch would be elected. It was at this time Padme sat him down and explained how the other handmaidens and herself were in the running for the election.

Percy, in shock, did everything he could do to support his girlfriend. When she won and became Queen Padme Amidala, he was lost. He loved her. There was no doubt about that. But as Queen she could not live with him in their house anymore. Padme assured him he could live in the palace, but Percy wasn't sure the others on her council would agree. It all turned out he was wrong, as since he was a hero on this planet he was more than welcome.

Panaka remained Head of the Guard. Ruwee remained an advisor. Sabe was the new top handmaiden. And finally Typho and Percy were both elevated to Captains, only answering to Panaka and the Queen.

Padme, with the help of her friends and council, ushered in another reign of peace. Percy and Padme kept their relationship strong, though Percy made sure Padme put her Queen work first. Percy stood strong by her side as the Trade Federation started threatening the peace on Naboo. Padme loved the support as much as she loved him.

They would get through it all together.
