AN: And I am back. For those that celebrated Thanksgiving, I hope you enjoyed it. This will be the official opening of The Phantom Menace. Many Star Wars characters will be introduced this chapter. There will be Jar Jar Binks in this story, but his character will not be used as much as the Prequel Trilogy. Also as a clarification of ages: Obi-Wan, Percy, Padme and Typho are all 23. Percy and Padme have been dating for 5 years now.

Chapter VII (Arc 1 Part 1):

Obi-Wan's POV (32 BBY)

The diplomatic mission had went horribly. First they tried to kill him and his Master Qui-Gon Jinn with poison gas. Then came the Droidekas. The Viceory and his associates in the Trade Federation had tried and not succeeded. Qui-Gon and myself had split up to get to the surface of Naboo to hopefully warn the inhabitants of the full extent of what was to come. We would also most likely need to get to the Queen off planet to make sure that the Trade Federation did not gain a powerful hostage.

Stowing away undetected on the landing ship was easier than escaping undetected. I was chased by droids on hover speeders for several miles as I tried to escape them in the jungle. I came across a clearing that held his master and a creature of unknown race, probably an inhabitant. With the help of my master we were able to defeat the squadron of droids chasing me.

Qui-Gon introduced to the being known as Jar Jar Binks (Again not going to try to emulate the Gungan speech). Apparently he owed my master a life debt since he was saved from being crushed. We asked him what was the quickest way to Theed and he explained the core world path.

Jar Jar led us to the edge of a lake, explaining that we could find transport in the underwater Gungan city.

Qui-Gon and I attached rebreathers as we dove down into the water to get to the city. Arriving there, I was amazed by the architecture. Each planet and race had their own style. I saw subs that had to be Gungan ships and another that was certainly not. We were quickly brought before their leader, Boss Nass.

He was in council chambers with his assembly and a human male. The human male introduced himself as Percy Jackson, though the Boss corrected him, calling him the Sea Warrior. Percy appeared to be my age and his eyes were calculating as they took in our appearances and the lightsabers on our belts. His eyes lingered on the sabers before coming in for a handshake.

When I shook his hand, I could tell these were the hands of a warrior. Qui-Gon on the other hand appeared deep in thought as he shook hands with the man. Percy did not seem bothered by it.

Qui-Gon explained the situation. When we got to the part of the Trade Federation finally invading, Percy shot up worriedly. He explained how that would explain the com silence. He offered to take us back to Theed and to get the Queen off planet safely, as long as he could make a quick pitstop. He seemed rushed to get back to the capital.

We quickly agreed, rushing to his ship. (Jar Jar was not banished and is not coming with them). We made good time through the subterranian tunnel. My Master sat stroking his beard the whole time. I took the time to meditate. We arrived at the surface and quickly parked.

Percy led us towards the city and directed us towards what appeared to be an apartment complex. He let us in and we quickly realized this was his home. Percy was inside grabbing a prepacked bag, which he explained was his emergency pack. He was loading a couple blasters, before strapping one to his side and what appeared to be several vibroknives to his body. The last items he grabbed were a collection of drawings off his walls, sticking them in a book, before putting them in his bag.

He mumbled a ready, then led us back out. We had to dodge a few droid patrols that were rounding up citizens. We reached a covered overhang and were watching a group of officials being led away. One was in the ornate dressing of the Queen.

As the first part of the droid patrol passed under us, we leaped into action.

Percy's POV

Ever since I found out the Trade Federation had launched the invasion, all I could think about was Padme. I hoped she was safe. I knew as Queen, they had protocols prepared for situations like this. Likely she would be posing as a handmaiden for her safety currently.

I was with the two Jedi, watching as Padme and her officials were ushered away. Panaka, Typho and R2 were among those in the group.

I do not know why but I had mixed feelings about the two Jedi. Obi-Wan I was okay with. Qui-Gon... something about him did not settle with me. He had kept his eyes on me since meeting me.

I was split. Once I had figured out I had the Force, I had dug through the Holonet to find any information. I read some ancient texts I found about suppressing it so others could not tell I had it. But it was during my travels to get lightsaber parts that I ran into my biggest issues with the Jedi and their Order. The practice of taking kids away at a young age and indoctrinating them into a cult like order where they could have no relationships was just wrong. Maybe it was the relationship with Padme talking. Or maybe it was the similarities to the brainwashed kids who joined Kronos during the Titan War.

Ignoring my lack of respect for authority figures and my relationship with Padme, I felt that I would not fit in with this group. Qui-Gon, with his indoctrinated beliefs, proved that. Obi-Wan though, from what I had seem, was kind of like me. He was a padawan and clearly not yet brainwashed and indoctrinated in the beliefs (AN: In this story, Qui-Gon is a firm belief holder instead of Obi-Wan. Obi-Wan is more of the maverick Jedi that the council thought Qui-Gon is).

The droids and the hostages passed underneath us. We exploded into action. The two Jedi started destroying the ones in the front. I used my blaster to stun the ones in the back, deliberately not destroying them. I had plans for them to help us get off the planet. Once the droids were taken care of and the guards freed, I ran to Padme and gave her a giant hug. We talked quietly while Panaka armed everyone.

We were ready to get off the planet. I was not paying attention to the Jedi as they explained to the decoy Queen how negotiations had failed and how they were going to get her off the planet. I snorted quietly knowing it was not going to be as easy as it sounded. Luckily I had an ace up my sleeve.

Letting go of Padme, but keeping her in sight, I motioned R2 to follow me to the droids I stunned. He plugged in his interface arm and started uploading the custom controls we had been developing. Thanks to Hephaestus, I had the ability to reprogram these droids. With a little tinkering the three droids were up and about under mine and R2's control. I quickly gave them orders (Think of the reprogrammed droids from the Citadel arc of the Clone Wars).

They were going to 'escort' us to the hangar where we would take a ship off planet. Padme, the decoy and the guards did not question this. They were used to my crazy by now. The Jedi were skeptical but went along with it. We hid our weapons and took off towards the royal hangar.

We made it without incident with our fake captors. When we reached the hangar was when the danger started. Pilots were being held off to the side and the royal ship was right there. We needed to free the pilots to take off. The droids were stopped by a commander droid. Before the droids could even attempt to bluff, Qui-Gon seemingly had enough of my attempt, and started hacking at the droids with his lightsaber. During this commotion, the pilots all ran towards the ship, while I covered our group with Obi-Wan, as the rest ran to the ship. Quickly glancing back to make sure everyone was on was my undoing.

While I was distracted, I took a blasterbolt to the shoulder. It burned like hell, causing me to drop my blaster. I took another to the knee before Qui-Gon killed the last one. Obi-Wan helped me onto the ship. Once on the ship, Qui-Gon ordered the pilots to take off, while Obi-Wan and Padme looked at my wounds. I ground out that I was okay, but I was clearly not.

We took off escaping the ground assault. As we approached the blockade we started receiving heavy fire. Part of the hyperdrive was destroyed. R2 and the royal astromechs were deployed. It was a tense few moments before the hyperdrive came back online, though limited. We took off into hyperspace, unsure where we would end up with our limited and ruined hyperdrive.

But at least we were safe for the moment.

AN: And this chapter is a wrap. Kind of a lengthy one, but I wanted to finish off the escape from Naboo. Please read and review. Give me a comment on what you are looking forward to from the remaining content covered by The Phantom Menace. Next chapter should introduce Anakin Skywalker.

Again, Percy in this story is against the hard doctrine of the Jedi order. He understands the need for balance, but not the lack of relationships or basic brainwashing. To the guest that left the most recent review. Percy is going to be very grey this story. I also do not plan on having Camp Half-Blood being shown anytime soon or if at all.
