"RED, GET BACK ON YOUR COUCH RIGHT NOW", Leaf screamed.
Leaf punched a sleeping Red, who somehow was sleeping next to her. Red woke up in fright. Next, Blue woke up in anger, yelling at Leaf:
"Dang Leaf, if you forgot, Red sleepwalks sometimes, remember?"
Leaf's anger turned to shock with horror.
"Oops, sorry Red", said Leaf embarrassed.
The receptionist approached them and told them that breakfast is ready. Red, Blue, and Leaf went into another room and saw a massive table and saw a bunch of people sitting there eating. They found three extra seats next to a blond girl with a straw hat and sat there. For breakfast, eggs, toast, waffles, bacon, and fruit is being served. As they were about to eat, Red glanced at the blond girl next to him.
"Excuse me, have we met before?", asked Red.
"I don't think so", answered the girl, who appeared to be stunned by this. "Do I look familiar to you?"
"Yes, you do. You look like our friend, Yellow, from the orphanage".
The girl shot him a surprised look and then studied his appearance for a moment.
"Red?", she asked, surprised
"The one and only", said Red delighted. "And Blue and Leaf are right here next to me".
Red pointed to Blue and Leaf, who stopped to look at Yellow. Blue and Leaf wave to her.
Yellow said nothing and went back to eating.
"Hi Yellow, long time no see", Blue greeted.
"Hello Yellow, haven't seen you in forever", greeted Leaf.
But Yellow looked at Leaf, then to Blue but said nothing. She began to stare at Red with anger. Yellow was a fellow orphan from the same orphanage in Saffron City. She got adopted by a couple who lived in Viridian City, a day before Red, Blue, and Green were adopted. However, Red noticed something odd about Yellow, like she is a completely different person from whom they knew from the orphanage. Throughout the entire breakfast, Yellow sat there eating and glaring at Red. Red noticed this and began to feel uneasy. After finishing his breakfast, he quickly took his plate to the dishwasher, grabbed his stuff, and left the hotel. Seeing Red quickly like this made Blue and Leaf bewildered. Looking to relax and not worry about Yellow, Red went walking to a park nearby. Not long after, Blue and Leaf joined him.
"Red, is everything okay?" asked Leaf.
"Yeah, you left us there in the hotel cafeteria and ran out ", said Blue. "What's on your mind, buddy?".
Red took a deep breath.
"Yellow was making me uncomfortable the whole time", he told them. "She kept giving me the death stare".
Leaf gasped and Blue began to feel bad for him, showing a sign of sadness. Suddenly a voice rang out.
"Red ran out because he's a coward and he's afraid to face me", said the familiar voice.
The three looked in front of them and saw Yellow staring at them.
"Oh hi Yellow, would you like to travel with us?", asked Blue, nervously. "Red, Leaf, and I are traveling together".
Red and Leaf then stare at Blue with disbelief.
"Go away and go back to where you came from," snapped Yellow. "This journey is for real trainers only. I am a real trainer and you three fools are not".
"What do you mean by real trainers?", asked Leaf, startled by Yellow's rude behavior.
Yellow turned to a serious and frightening look.
"Your friendship with each other sickens me", said Yellow. "Pokemon trainers don't have any friends. Just rivals, competition, and enemies".
"W-W-W-What?", Blue said, angrily. "Where did you learn that from?"
Yellow is quiet for a moment.
"Tell me, Blue?", asked Yellow. "Do you really think Red is your friend?"
Blue couldn't believe what he was being asked. He then felt his anger rising.
"Red is not my friend…no…yes…no…, yes…no…yes", Blue stammered.
Yellow grinned at him.
"Is he?" Yellow said, adding pressure to Blue.
Without warning, Blue exploded.
"RED IS MY RIVAL AND MY BEST FRIEND", Blue shouted before lowering his voice. "I swore to stick with him and Leaf since I left the orphanage, whether I like it or not".
"What about you, Leaf?", said Yellow, turning to Leaf.
Leaf stood before her.
"Red's is my best friend too, period", said Leaf, firmly.
Yellow threw them a defeated but angry look.
"Allow me to show you what I am talking about", said Yellow.
She threw a Poke ball in the air and out came a yellow mouse like creature with red cheeks and lightning bolt tail.
"Pikachu!", it said.
"I challenge you all to a Pokemon battle," Yellow announced.
Red, Blue, and Leaf looked at one another. They were all shocked about the sudden change in their friend.
"Yellow, don't do this", Red pleaded.
Yellow scowled at Red.
"I am going to show you that your friendship with each other is wasted", said Yellow.
Then Blue threw out his PokeBall and out came his Squirtle.
"Wait a minute guys, we don't know how to do a Pokemon battle", Leaf panicked.
"I hate to say this, Leaf, but it looks like we have to learn by hand", Red told her.
"Squirtle, tackle now", Blue shouted.
Squirtle charged at Pikachu.
"Pikachu, thundershock", shouted Yellow.
Pikachu, using its red cheeks, sent a bolt of lightning right at Squirtle, electrocuting it. Squirtle then fell on top of its shell.
"Squirtle!", Blue yelled as he ran up to it.
"Who's next?", Yellow bellowed.
Leaf stepped forward and drew out her Bulbasaur.
"Bulbasaur, tackle", Green shouted.
Bulbasaur charged at Pikachu.
"Pikachu, thundershock", said Yellow.
Pikachu sent a bolt of lightning right at Bulbasaur, frying it a little.
"Bulbasaur, tackle", Green shouted.
"Pikachu, thundershock", said Yellow.
Bulbasaur continued to tackle Pikachu but got electrocuted again.
"Pikachu, finish it", said Yellow, firmly.
Again, and again, until, finally, Bulbasaur was out.
"Bulbasaur!", Green shrieked. Then she glared at Yellow.
Red looked at Blue and Leaf with sadness. Then he glared at Yellow.
"This is for Blue and Leaf", said Red. "Go Charmander!"
Red threw his Poke ball and out came Charmander.
"Charmander, scratch", Red hollered.
"Pikachu, thundershock", Yellow hollered.
Charmander swung its fingers at Pikachu, and Pikachu sent another volt lightning at Charmander. Surprisingly, Charmander was electrocuted, and got damaged but nowhere nearly as bad as Bulbasaur and Squirtle got. Red looked at Charmander for a moment but didn't have time to analyze what happened, he had a battle to win.
"Charmander, scratch", Red hollered again.
"Pikachu, thundershock", Yellow hollered.
Charmander continued to scratch at Pikachu and Pikachu continued to electrocute Charmander. It looked as though Charmander was winning. After a long battle, Pikachu collapsed.
Blue and Green cheered and ran to Red. Yellow looked at them with anger.
Yellow stared at her Pikachu and then glared at Red, Blue, and Leaf. She then called her Pikachu with her Poke ball. She threw out another Pokeball and out came a Pidgey.
"I am not done with you yet, Pidgey, Tackle", said Yellow.
"Charmander, get out of the way then Scratch", said Red.
Charmander jumped out of the way and scratched Pidgey, which heavily weakened it.
"Finish it, Charmander", said Red.
Charmander leapt at Pidgey and scratched it, causing it to faint.
Yellow returned her Pidgey and glared at Red.
"Red," she announced. "Enjoy yourself while it lasts. One day, I will crush you".
As Yellow left, Red suddenly started wondering what worse Yellow could do.
