Lost Art, Lost Nation

Chapter I Discovery

It's been twenty years since Avatar Aang returned and defeated Fire Lord Ozai. Avatar Aang is the most powerful avatar the world had seen in many generations but I discovered a lost form of bending that is perfect in every way. I believe that with this form of bending I could best the avatar in a match and the perfect place to prove this will be at this years' World Bending Arts Tournament.

Once the Fire Lord was defeated Avatar Aang declared that once a year a world tournament would be held to promote peace and harmony among the nations. The winner of each year's tournament is awarded with admission to the Avatar Academy of Bending Mastery and a chance to spar with Avatar Aang. I know that if I win this years' tournament I could show the avatar and the world that this newly rediscovered form of bending is the best.

Now then, time for a little back-story. First let me introduce myself I am Nasser. I was born in the southern most end of the Earth Kingdom in the city of Sun'sei. I was born just three short years before Avatar Aang returned. As a child my father taught me earth bending which I enjoyed very much but I always felt that there was something missing from our discipline of bending. As time passed my feeling of emptiness in my forms became greater. At fifteen I became an adventurer/explorer and traveled all over the world. By age eight-teen I had seen and done more than most people my age. During one trip to the fire nation I came across a small island about two hundred miles off the western coast not on any maps. Upon further exploration of this island I discovered a derelict temple partially buried and over grow with vines and trees. I climbed to the top of a spire that was barely visible to gain access to the interior of the temple. When I climbed down to the floor the first thing I saw was a statue of a very beautiful woman, I could also see that who ever this woman was she was also strong and had a commanding presence. As I walked through the halls of this grand temple I viewed murals of benders bending something I could not quite identify. Exploring further I came upon a grand library and as I perused through the many books and parchments I learned of a proud and strong nation, one which the people of my time had long forgotten. Reading through more books I found that their form of bending was renowned for its power, grace, impenetrable defenses and crushing offenses. I knew then that if by some chance I could learn this form of bending I could win the WBAT.
