Chapter 34: Wild Five
Hey everyone I'm back with a new chapter. Now this one I tried to make as exciting as possible. I hope all of you are doing okay despite this annoying Corona Virus going around. I'll try to keep up the updates. I hope you like what I have planned. Please Review and Enjoy.
Running through the streets of Metropolis, Miles was running as fast as he could to Superhero High.
But when he arrived, he saw Mary Jane and Kitty arrive at the same time.
"Kitty?" Miles asks.
"Miles?" MJ asks.
"MJ?" Kitty asks.
"What are you guys doing here?" All three ask at the same time.
"I came to see Jaden. Something happened and I kinda need to talk to him." Kitty said.
"I think my issue is a little more important." MJ said.
"Somehow I doubt that." Miles said as they walked to the front of the school.
"Excuse me do you have an appointment?" Principal Waller's face said appearing on the screen. "Only students are allowed past this point."
"We're here to see our friend Jaden Cooper. Please ma'am it's an emergency." Miles said.
"None of you go anywhere, I'll go get him." Waller said turning off the screen.
"What do you think Jaden's doing?" Kitty asks.
"Oh you know Tiger, probably just chilling out." MJ said.
In the school gym, Spider-Man yelped as he avoided Frost's ice attacks.
"Whoa! I almost became a Spidersicle." Spider-Man said firing a web and swinging around.
"You can't forever Spidey!" Frost said firing blasts of ice at him freezing Spider-man's hands in blocks of ice causing him to fall to the ground.
Charging in Frost was about to finish it when Spider-Man swings his frozen hands up and smashes them into her chest knocking her to the ground and breaking the ice.
As Frost looks up she sees Spider-Man pointing his web-shooters at her face.
"Winner, Spider-Man!" Wildcat said walking out. "Excellent match you two."
"Good match, Jaden." Frost said as he helped her up. "Thought I had you."
"Guess I just know how to keep my cool." Jaden smiles taking off his mask when Principal Waller walks in.
"Spider-Man a word. You have visitors." Principal Waller said getting his attention.
"Oh who are they?" Jaden asks.
"A Miles Morales, Kitty Pryde and Mary Jane Watson." Waller said reading off a piece of paper causing Jaden to tumble.
"What?! What are they doing here?! Oh man I gotta get out of this suit!" Jaden panics running out.
"Keep your cool huh?" Frost raises an eyebrow.
"Looks like Spider-Man just became Jumping Spider." Haley laughs.
Supergirl narrows her eyes as Jaden ran out in his normal clothes stuffing his suit into his backpack.
"Hulk think something wrong with Bug Boy." Hulk said.
"I think so too Hulk." Supergirl agrees.
In the waiting area, Miles, Kitty and MJ were sitting around when Jaden walked in.
"Hey what's with the surprise visit?" Jaden asks getting their attention.
"Jaden I need to talk you." Kitty said.
"No me first." MJ said.
"My thing is more important!" Miles said getting up.
"Whoa, whoa, guys what's wrong?" Jaden asks.
"Jaden something crazy happened to me and I need someone I can trust to help me." Miles admits as he held up his hands and everyone saw jolts of electricity emanating from them.
"Miles?" Jaden said shocked.
"You too?" MJ asks getting their attention. Holding up her hand everyone watched in shock to see her hand morphed to resemble a mace.
"Guys what's happening?" Jaden asks shocked.
"You guys have powers too? Oh man this is getting scarier by the minute." Kitty pants.
"Guys calm down. You have to remain calm or your powers will get out of control." Jaden warns.
"How would you know? You have no idea what I'm going through!" Kitty said as she stepped forward but she started to sink through the floor.
"Kitty!" MJ and Miles gasps when Jaden acts on instinct and fires a web latching onto Kitty's arm allowing him to pull her to safety.
Looking in shock the three of them looked to Jaden and see his web-shooters strapped to his hands. "Actually. I know more than you guys think." Jaden sighs in defeat.
At the warehouse, Tinkerer was hard at work using the tech to assemble what looked like a new set of wings.
"Alright boss, try it on." He said as Toomes put on his new set of wings and mask.
The suit had two large retractable wings with powerful turbines and feather blades. A black exo suit with mask, and feet talons. (Google MCU Vulture)
"Oh yeah. I am gonna enjoy ripping Spider-Man apart in this." Vulture grins.
"Geez Vulture, he's just another one of those stupid kids from that school. It's not like he's Superman." Scorpion mocks.
"Well that stupid kid ruined what was supposed to be my best heist. I planned everything down to the last detail to rob that ship to the Galactic Council and all I had to do was steal one of those crates and I would have been set for life. All the tech, all the possible heroes stationed on patrol. I had plans and a strategy to deal with all of them…but right when I thought I was set he showed, saved the day and humiliated me. Now it's payback time." Vulture said determined before spreading his wings. "Follow my signal. I got a bug to find." Vulture took off into the air.
Back at Superhero High, Jaden was sitting down in the suit design room while Miles, Kitty and MJ were trying to wrap their heads around it as Jaden pulls his Spider-Man mask and suit out of his backpack to show them.
"So let me see if I have all this right. You've been Spider-Man this whole time?" Miles asks.
"Pretty much." Jaden said.
"Some reporter I turned out to be. Whenever you ran off Spider-Man showed up. How did I not connect the dots?" Mary Jane asks.
"To be fair I really tried to make it seem like I would never do something like this." Jaden admits.
"Jaden how could lie to us for so long? I thought we were friends." Kitty said.
"We are." Jaden said.
"Then why didn't you ever tell us?" Kitty asks.
As Supergirl walked down the halls, she looked inside to see Miles, Kitty and MJ looking at Jaden with hurt expressions on their face.
"You guys don't understand. I had to keep it a secret." Jaden said.
"Jaden the second we discovered we had powers we came straight to you because we thought if you were in the same situation you would tell us." MJ said.
"Guess we were wrong." Miles said.
"Guys please let me explains. With power comes great responsibility. When I got my powers, I had to be responsible with them and now that you guys have them you need to use them for the right reasons." Jaden said.
"But Jaden I don't want this responsibility. I liked my life before I had them." Kitty said.
"I wanna be a reporter not a hero." MJ said.
Kara frowns seeing that they were asking the same way she used to act about her powers and how they were mad at Jaden for lying to them for so long.
"Guys I'm sorry I lied to you but I'm telling you this as your friend. You have the chance to really help people." Jaden said.
"I-I just don't know." Miles admits.
"Jaden this is beyond scary." Kitty said.
"Sorry tiger but I don't think I can have your back with this." MJ admits.
Sighing Jaden hangs his head in shame. "I understand, this is gonna take some time." Jaden grabs his suit and walks into a changing room. When he walks out everyone sees Jaden in his Spider-Man suit except for the mask. "I didn't want this life either. But I made my choice." Jaden said before putting on the mask and walking right past Supergirl before firing a web and swinging off into the city.
Supergirl looks to Jaden and to his friends and slowly walks in.
"Jaden leave us alone." Miles said not even looking up.
"Uh sorry I'm not him." Supergirl said getting their attention.
"Whoa! You're Supergirl." Kitty points.
"Oh man I have been wanting to get an interview with you for weeks." MJ said reaching for her camera.
"Thanks but I actually wanna talk to you guys. It's about what happened with you and Jaden." Supergirl said.
"Wait you know his identity?" Kitty asks.
"It's kind of a Superhero High thing, it's a safe place where you can keep your secret identity. All the students are sworn to never reveal anyone's but their own." Supergirl explains.
"So the whole school knew the truth about Jaden before us." Miles grumbles.
"Look I know what you guys are going through and its scary but did any of you bother to ask what Jaden went through when he first got his powers?" Supergirl asks getting their attention. "When I started out I thought no one knew what I was going through, but he did."
Miles, Kitty and MJ look to her with curious looks.
"What do you mean?" Kitty asks.
"He was scared…all the time. The first time he used his powers he messed and it hurt him so much since then he struggled to keep his identity from you guys to protect you. You guys meant so much to him and he hated keeping you all in the dark, but he thought as long as you didn't know you'd be safe. He wants to help you guys not just because you're his friends but because he wants you three to hang onto the lives you love as well as your new lives. Look Spider-Man is amazing, but Jaden is the real hero." Supergirl smiles.
All three of them smile softy realizing she was right. Jaden had been there for them for everything. School, personal life, he even became MJ's cameraman.
"I don't suppose he taught you anything on how to control his powers?" MJ asks.
"2 things. Always believe in your superself and you're gonna need a suit." Supergirl smiles getting their attention.
Swinging through the city, Spider-Man lands on a rooftop and sighs.
"My best friends have powers now and they hate me for lying to them. Man I cannot catch a break." Spider-Man sighs when his spider sense went off. "Like I said can't catch a break."
Spider-Man leaps out of the way as something crashed down where he was.
Turning around he saw Shocker glaring at him. "Who the heck are you?"
Suddenly he heard a noise, turning around he saw Vulture flying down towards him in his new suit.
"Hey Spidey." Vulture said causing Spider-Man to look in shock. "Like the new suit? That's not all that's different."
Scaling the wall behind him, Spider-Man saw Scorpion leap up behind him and Prowler and Grizzly appear around him.
"I see you made some friends." Spider-Man looking to Vulture.
"We're the Wild 5 and for our debut. You get to be our first victim." Vulture said as an explosion went off causing Spider-Man to scream.
At Superhero High, thanks to her superhearing Supergirl heard his scream and gasps turning to Miles, Kitty and MJ.
"Guys, Jaden's in trouble!" Supergirl said causing them to look up in shock.
"Trouble? What are you talking about?" Miles asks.
"Look I can hear him and something is wrong. I got to go save him." Supergirl said when they a hand stops her.
"Where do you think you're going? We still need someone to show us new heroes the ropes." MJ smirks as Supergirl sees her, Kitty and Miles suiting up causing Supergirl to smile.
Swinging through town, Spider-Man swings from building to building with Vulture hot on his tail.
"Not so funny when it's you on the losing end is it?" Vulture asks as he flew ahead and sliced the web causing Spider-Man to drop when Scorpion and Grizzly leaped at him.
Firing another web he swings in and kicks Grizzly into the chest knocking him to the ground before landing on the street lamps.
"See this is why you don't let wild animals off their leashes." Spider-Man said when Prowler activated the bracelets on his arms and fires projectiles at Spider-Man causing him to dodge and weave avoiding all the attacks.
Running across a rooftop he jumps over an old warehouse when from below Shocker leaps up and punches him causing Spider-Man to crashing through the roof and onto the floor.
Groaning in pain, Spider-Man picks himself up to see the Wild 5 surrounding him.
"I've been wanting to say this since Day One, Spider-Man. Your jokes are not funny." Vulture said about to finish him off when from below a pair of hands grab Spider-Man and pull him through the floor saving him from Vulture's attack.
"What the?" Grizzly asks.
"Where'd he go?" Prowler asks when Supergirl bursts through the door and uses her superbreath to blow them back.
"Sorry boys, but I brought a team as well." Supergirl said as jumping in from behind as a guy in a black suit with red outlines landed next to her. (Google Spider-Man Miles Morales)
"Name's Jolt Arachnid." He said taking fighting stance.
Ladning next to her was a girl in a red suit with a black center, red spider in the center and a black mask and red eye slots. (Google Ultimate Spider-Woman)
"Spider-Woman." She said when coming out of the ground next to them was Kitt wearing a dark navy-blue bodysuit, a red utility belt, with gold going right down the middle. (Google X-Men Evolution Shadowcat)
"And Shadowcat." She grins.
"Guys?" Spider-Man said looking up to see Jolt Arachnid and Spider-Woman turn in his direction and nod causing him to grin under his mask as he stood up. "I thought you didn't want to get involved."
"Your first was student was very persuasive." Shadowcat points to Supergirl.
"Besides, we're your friends and we stick together." Jolt Arachnid said.
"Guys as much as I love this heartfelt reunion, we got some bad guys to stop." Supergirl points.
"We'll finish this talk later." Spider-Woman said as the Wild 5 stared each of them down.
"Great, more superhero brats." Prowler said.
"Don't be so sad, now none of you will feel left out." Supergirl said as Grizzly charged forward only for Supergirl to stop his claws with her bare hands. A serious expression appears on her face as she pushes him back and throws him across the warehouse before flying after him.
"Alright guys, first lesson. Don't let your powers get the best of you. Be creative and make them do what you want them to do." Spider-Man said as he fires a web at the roof and swings in towards Vulture kicking him to the upper level.
Soon fights were breaking out everywhere.
Jolt Arachnid was climbing along the wall before swinging off the rails dodging Prowler's projectiles.
"I thought one stupid spider was annoying." Prowler growls firing at Jolt Arachnid as he dived down and sweeps his legs causing Prowler to fall and was nailed with a knee to the face.
"Guess it's a just a common theme." Jolt Arachnid said.
Turning her hands into scythes Spider-Woman uses them to deflect Scorpion's tail attacks but just as Shocker leaps at her Shadowcat makes them both move through the walls dodging his attack.
"How does he do this all the time?" Shadowcat asks.
"No clue." Spider-Woman said as Shocker punches through the wall with Scorpion right behind him.
Running quickly the girls tried to run only for both villains to jump onto the conveyor belt.
"Going somewhere?" Scorpion smirks.
"No but you are." Shadowcat smirks pulling a switch and the warehouse turned on and the conveyor belt started causing both of them to trip and fall.
"And here's the punch!" Spider-Woman punches them both sending them flying.
Grizzly throws punch after punch as Supergirl holds up her hands to guard.
"I am gonna flatten you into a pancake." Grizzly roars punching Supergirl back against the rail.
Looking up she saw him charging, thinking quickly Supergirl uses her ice breath on the ground causing Grizzly to slip and she punches him int the gut sending him flying.
"Sorry, don't feel like breakfast right now." Supergirl smirks.
On the upper level, Spider-Man was running along the rails dodging Vulture's blade feathers.
"I liked you better when you were in your cage birdbrain." Spider-Man said ducking under the wings and punching Vulture in the face.
Looking down he saw the other Wild 5 members being overwhelmed.
"Sorry Vulture, but I'm not going down no matter what team you come at me with." Spider-Man said causing Vulture to get really pissed off.
Slashing the railing Spider-Man fell towards the ground but just before he could fire a web Vulture tackles him smashing him into the wall.
"I am gonna rip you apart!" Vulture roars grabbing Spider-Man by the arm and throwing him down to the ground smashing into some gas tanks causing them to leak.
Prowler and Jolt Arachnid were in a lock as they tried to push each other back.
"I am gonna flatten you like the bug you are." Prowler said.
"Not today." Sparks came from Jolt Arachnid's hands zapping Prowler making him scream in pain before he kicks him to the ground.
Nearby Supergirl punches Grizzly with a powerful uppercut sending him crashing onto Prowler.
"Two down." Supergirl said as they saw Shadowcat facing Scorpion as she dodges his tail attacks as it pierced the wall behind her.
Moving quickly she grabs the tail before it retracted back and used it to fling herself towards Scorpion and deliver two kicks to the face knocking him to the ground.
"Whoa, that was pretty cool." Shadowcat said impressed.
Sparks emitted from Shocker's fists as he tired to punch Spider-Woman who bobbed and weaved.
As Shocker threw a punch, Spider-Woman grabs his arm and threw him, but when he landed everyone saw the sparks heading towards the leaking gas causing everyone's eyes to widen in horror.
"She's gonna blow!" Spider-Man roars as the sparks ignited causing a chain of explosions to go off in the warehouse
With flames growing around them, Prowler, Scorpion, Grizzly and Shocker were laying on the ground unconscious.
Flying over Supergirl picked all 4 villains up with her super strength while Spider-Man was helping up Jolt Arachnid while Shadowcat and Spider-Woman were barely standing.
Groaning in pain, sparks came from Vulture's wings as he turned towards them.
"Where do you think you're going?! This isn't over!" Vulture roars.
"Vulture stop this! The whole place is gonna come down!" Spider-Man yells.
"I'm not going anywhere until you stupid heroes are dead at my feet!" Vulture snaps spreading his wings and racing towards them.
Jolt Arachnid, Shadowcat and Spider-Woman look in fear when moving in front of them Spider-Man grabs Vulture by his wings stopping him in his tracks.
"You're not laying a finger on my friends!" Spider-Man roars pushing Vulture through the fire before throwing Vulture back.
"Amazing." The three of them said at once before Spider-Man turns to them.
"Help Supergirl get the other 4 out! I'll meet you outside!" Spider-Man said.
Deciding to listen the 3 of them ran to the Supergirl and the 4 of them ran out of the warehouse leaving the two foes that started it all facing each other one on one.
"Whenever I'm about to get ahead in something you're always in my way!" Vulture snaps.
"Well here's a wild and crazy idea, make better life choices." Spider-Man said as Vulture flew towards him and grabs him in his talons and smashes him into the ground repeatedly.
Vulture raises his other talon but Spider-Man fires a web at his mask blocking his view before Spider-Man breaks himself free and knocks Vulture back.
Picking himself up, Spider-Man lunges at Vulture punching him multiple times before nailing him in the gut.
As Vulture rips the webs off he swings his wings at him but Spider-Man fires a web at the roof and swings out of the way avoiding Vulture and the flames.
Landing behind him Spider-Man notices Vulture's wings sparking up like crazy causing him to gasp.
"Your wings, your wings are gonna explode!" Spider-Man yells but Vulture didn't listen as he flew up.
"It's over Spidey." Vulture said about fly in when the wings exploded causing Vulture to crash into the wall and half the roof came down knocking Spider-Man to the ground.
Spider-Man pants heavily as he slowly picks himself up. Groaning in pain he looks to see Vulture trapped under some pieces of roof.
Growing his stingers, Spider-Man approaches him causing Vulture to look in horror as Spider-Man aimed his stinger at him thinking it was the end.
Outside, the four heroes watched in horror as flames surrounded the entire warehouse causing it to collapse when emerging from the flames everyone smiled to see Spider-Man carrying Vulture on his back revealing his wings had been cut off as they made it out just before the building came down.
"He made it!" Supergirl smiles as they saw him drop Vulture down and rip his mask off so he could breathe.
"Y-You saved me? Why?" Adrian asks.
"No one deserves to die…not even you." Spider-Man said as Adrian looks at the kid surprised.
Spider-Man turns his friends and almost immediately Supergirl hugs him
"Thanks for saving me." Spider-Man said
"Like I could ever imagine losing you." Supergirl said.
"Me neither." Jolt Aracnid said joining hug.
"Never." Spider-Woman said as she and Shadowcat joined in the group hug.
As Supergirl made sure the Wild 5 were taken to Belle Reve, Jaden was sitting down with Miles, MJ and Kitty as they took their masks off and he explained everything to them.
"Now do you guys see why I wanted to keep you guys safe?" Jaden asks.
"Yeah, I'm worn out after just one fight. How do keep getting up every day to do this?" Miles asks.
"Practice." Jaden smirks.
"So tiger, what are we gonna do about this now?" MJ asks.
"Yeah how are we gonna explain this to Harry, Zack, or even our parents?" Kitty asks.
"Well your parents, Principal Waller can probably handle them. They'll be surprised but I think they'll be proud of you, but I think for Harry and Zack's safety we should maybe not tell those two just yet." Jaden said. "I'm sorry for all the lying."
"Jaden after today we totally understand why you did. Being a hero is dangerous." Miles said.
"I can't believe we survived a warehouse explosion." Kitty said.
"This is why I couldn't tell you I was Spider-Man. I didn't want you guys to dragged into all this craziness but even though I kept this a secret you three managed to find your own way to get pulled in." Jaden said.
"Maybe this just comes with being friends with you." Miles teases.
"Yeah, maybe if you wanna hang with Jaden Cooper you gotta be willing to put up with all his craziness." Kitty said as all of them laughed.
"Look I'm not saying it's gonna be easy but if you guys will give me a chance I'll help you learn to manage your super lives with your normal lives." Jaden said.
"Sounds good to me Jaden. I miss going to school with you." MJ smiles.
"Me too." Kitty smiles.
"It's gonna be hard to keep this a secret when you're working with Lois." Jaden said.
"You managed to do it." MJ smirks.
"All this aside you guys handled yourselves pretty well for first time heroes." Jaden said impressed.
"You know it." MJ winks.
"You were pretty amazing back there when you saved all three of us." Kitty said.
"I'd save you guys if I wasn't Spider-Man, you three are my best friends. I'd never want anything to happen to you guys." Jaden said before turning to Miles. "So Miles, you wanna join the rest of us?"
"I'll join on one condition." Miles said.
"You want me to make you some web shooters?" Jaden assumes.
"Okay 2 conditions." Miles chuckles before leaning in and whispering something to him.
"Well I guess since you're gonna be a new student you're allowed to know." Jaden chuckles.
The next day, Bumblebee was walking to her locker.
"Hey Bumblebee." Spider-Man said walking down the hall to her.
"Hey Spidey, what's up?" Bumblebee asks.
"We have some new students and one of them really wanted to meet you." Spider-Man said.
"Well where is the new guy?" Bumblebee asks when Spider-Man steps out of the way to reveal Jolt Arachnid. "Hey uh do I now you?"
"Actually, you do." He lifts up his mask to reveal his face surprising her. "Hey Karen." Miles smiles.
"Miles? What the? How did this happen? And why are you dressed like Spider-Man?" Bumblebee asks.
"It's a long story, by the way I'm not Spider-Man, I'm Jolt Arachnid." Miles said.
"Well Jolt Arachnid, allow me to show you around." Bumblebee giggles as they walk away.
"My life just keeps crazier." Spider-Man chuckles.
