Chapter 48: Titans Go
Hey everyone I'm back with a new chapter. Sorry about the wait but this one I really wanted to nail and I think you'll like who I used to make this chapter awesome including new ones. I hope you like what I have planned. Please Review and Enjoy.
We find ourselves at Avengers Tower, with Jaden, Barbara and Tony talking with Nick Fury on screen.
"So the council is curious what the whereabouts of the Tesseract are." Nick said.
"Yeah well, that's on a need to know basis." Barbara said.
"And they lost the need to know when they tried to nuke us." Tony said.
"As far as they're concerned, the Tesseract is safe and that's all that matters." Jaden said.
"You know they're not gonna be happy about this." Nick said.
"Oh no, angry government workers whatever shall we do?" Jaden said a sarcastic tone causing Barbara to giggle.
"Well if they want to take it up with me tell them to feel free to call. I'll put them on hold I like seeing the light blink." Tony said hanging up. "God damn, hasn't even been a week and they're already pissed at us."
"Yeah well so are we." Barbara said.
"Yeah whatever they say we will never let the Tesseract fall into anyone's hands." Jaden said.
"Jarvis, is the cube still locked uptight?" Tony asks.
"Tight as possible sir. Under heavy defenses with the only people allowed to access it are in this room." Jarvis said.
"Good. Let's keep it that way." Tony said.
"Also Mr. Stark I feel I should inform you have a prior engagement in 1 hour." Jarvis said.
"Oh wow, already? Hey Jaden keep an eye on things until I get back." Tony said heading to the back.
"Another date?" Barbara assumes.
"Unlike you kids, some of us have a life outside being a hero. STARK industries is having a huge party tonight and I plan on getting some investors." Tony said from the back.
"Well I guess it's just you and me then." Jaden said looking to Barbara.
"As much as I love that and I really do, my dad wants me to come home tonight." Barbara said.
"So you mean I'm gonna be all alone in this huge tower standing guard?" Jaden asks.
"I will be here Mr. Cooper." Jarvis said.
"Thanks Jarvis." Jaden said.
"And I would really appreciate it if when I came back the tower is in one piece." Tony said walking out in a tuxedo.
"See ya later Mr. Stark." Jaden said.
"Try not to blow the place up while I'm gone." Tony said leaving.
"Boy his faith in us is so reassuring." Barbara rolls her eyes.
"He has his moments." Jaden chuckles. "Hey come see what I'm working on." Jaden said leading Barbara to a work station.
On it, Barbara saw blueprints for a small spider bot and scattered blue and red pieces to it.
"What is this?" Barbara asks interested.
"It's basically my Spider robot hero companion. I call it TRACE-E. The little fella is gonna have a built-in tracking device so it can easily find me when I'm in a jam. Got a some vibranium from T'Challa so the little guy is not only lightweight but super durable. With a little Iron Man tech I got some thrusters, some of web fluid and other of my own special surprises. He'll be an amazing help around school and on the job." Jaden explains.
"Jaden this is amazing. How'd you come up with this?" Barbara asks.
"Well Mr. Stark has Jarvis, you have Oracle, I kinda wanted my own little support thing, but I decided to make mine more of a companion than a program." Jaden said.
"Hmm I like it when you get all smart and techy techy. Kinda hot." Barbara flirts hugging Jaden from behind pressing her chest into his back.
"Oh really?" Jaden grins.
"Yeah makes me think you and I can really make some amazing stuff together." Barbara said sitting him down in his chair while she sat in his lap.
"I think so too, but oh man would we have to deal with the constant distractions. I mean I don't know how I could focus on anything when I have the hottest, smartest partner right next to me 24/7." Jaden teases.
"We can manage." Barbara said kissing him on the lips.
Moaning both Barbara and Jaden made out passionately as Barbara wrapped her legs around him.
"Been a while since you and I had any alone time." Barbara smiles as they separate.
"We'll have to fix that. You, me, date night?" Jaden asks.
"You bet." Barbara smiles.
"Uh Ms. Gordon, your father is waiting at the entrance for you and he seems very impatient." Jarvis said as he showed them, Commissioner Gordon, at the front leaning against his car.
"Ugh speaking of distractions." Barbara groans.
"It's a miracle he gives us any alone time." Jaden sighs as she got off him.
"To be continued." Leaning in Barbara gives him one more kiss on the lips before walking out.
"Guess it's just you and tonight Jarvis." Jaden sighs.
"Don't worry sir, I can manage the tower just fine. You just focus on your project." Jarvis said.
"Thanks Jarvis." Jaden said pulling up his chair.
Little did he know, in the distance, Black Cat was looking at the tower through binoculars.
"Hmm a fancy superhero headquarters right in the middle of town. I bet this cat could find a few priceless shiny trinkets lying around." She grins licking her lips.
In another part of the city, Electro was in a tussle near a giant jumbo tron.
"Oh no I am not going back to Belle Reve." Electro said firing a blast of electricity only to reveal Nightwing landing in front of him.
"Who says we're giving you a choice?" Nightwing asks.
Flying in Starfire hurls multiple starbolts at him forcing Electro to counter with his own attacks causing it to explode.
Leaping through the smoke, Cyborg swings his fist. "Booyah!" Cyborg yells punching Electro in the face.
Flying backwards Electro crashes to the ground.
Groaning he was about to get up when a ram charged in and headbutted him into the screen causing sparks of electricity to emit around him.
Turning back into the Beastboy the four heroes glared Electro down.
"Good work Titans. Cyborg let's give this sparkplug the finisher." Nightwing said as electricity emitted from his tonfas.
"You got it." Cyborg said readying his sonic cannon.
Firing both attacks they crashed into Electro causing him to scream in pain as a bright light engulfs him.
"What's happening to him?" Beastboy asks.
"Electro is glowing?" Starfire said confused.
"Cyborg any ideas?" Nightwing asks when the light dies down and they looked in shock to see Electro had changed.
His entire body had been turned white with blue lines as electricity seemed to be emitting from him, even giving him the ability to fly.
"Well would you look at that?" Electro grins looking at his new forms. "What did you call yourselves? The Titans? I guess I should thank you." Touching the jumbo tron, Electro absorbed all the power causing the whole area of the city to go without power, including Avengers tower.
"Ooh what do we have here?" Black Cat grins as she decided to make her move.
Firing a giant blast of electricity Electro blasted the 4 heroes sending them flying back.
Laughing manically, Electro fires multiple blasts of electricity blowing up everything around.
"So much power! Imagine who much stronger I can get with more. And I know just where to look." Electro grins.
Groaning Nightwing looks to see Electro flying west.
"So much for our big debut." Nightwing said.
At Avengers tower, Jaden had a flashlight in his mouth as he was fiddling with the controls.
'Of all the days for the power to go out. I gotta get that Arc reactor up and running.' Jaden thought connecting two wires creating a spark.
Getting up Jaden tries to type but nothing was happening.
"Come on!" Kicking the controls it started up again turning on the backup generator. "Yes!"
Typing furiously Jaden only managed to get half the power got on.
"Dangit, Jarvis is still offline. Guess it's just me until the Arc Reactor charges up." Scanning the security cameras Jaden's eyes widen seeing a shadowy figure sneaking through the halls.
"Oh no you don't." Jaden glares typing furiously making something open. "You wanna break into Avengers Tower? Let's see how you deal with an Avenger."
Turning around Jaden looks to see a suit hatch open up.
Down below, Black Cat was looking around for any valuable items.
"Hmm if I were a superhero where I would put all my valuables?" Black Cat asks when she enters a room filled some of Tony's many cars. "Meow."
She was about to walk in when a web fired down in front of her.
"You know this isn't the Hall of Justice. We don't give tours." Looking up Black Cat saw Iron Spider land across from her. "Hello Black Cat."
"Spider-Man?" Black Cat grins at the familiar voice. "Mmm love the new outfit. Clothes really do make the man." She teases.
"Flattered but I'm afraid I'm gonna have to ask you to leave." Iron Spider said.
"You know it's rude for a gentleman to ask the girl to leave." Black Cat said putting a hand on her hip.
"It's also rude for the girl to show uninvited." Iron Spider countered.
"And what if I don't want to leave just yet?" Black Cat asks when Iron Spider's pincers came out.
"Allow me to show you the door." Iron Spider said.
"Ooh this night gets better and better." Black Cat grins.
Recovering from their beating, the Titans were trying to look for any sign of Electro.
"Aw man how could we lose so badly?" Beast Boy asks.
"Yes it appears Electro has made us the fools." Starfire said.
"Electro managed to absorb the power from our attacks while combining with the Daily Bugle's Jumbotron gave him the boost he needed to transform." Cyborg said.
"How could we screw up so royally? I thought I had this figured out." Nightwing said.
"Dude you messed up, it happens to all of us from time to time." Beastboy said.
"What matters is we find Electro and stop him." Cyborg said.
"And then we will deliver the butt kicking." Starfire said.
"He was heading west and he said he wanted to get stronger. Anyone have any idea what he was talking about?" Nightwing asks.
"Uh well the park is in that direction." Beastboy said.
"I don't Electro is gonna use trees to powerup." Nightwing said.
"Unless he's going green. I mean he already went white." Beastboy jokes causing everyone to look at him with deadpan expressions.
"Anyone else got any ideas?" Nightwing asks looking to Starfire and Cyborg.
"I might know some who can help us." Cyborg said trying to send a message. "Alright they'll meet up with us soon. In the meantime let's head west. Maybe we can figure something out on the way." Cyborg said.
Nodding the four heroes ran off hoping to catch up with the bad guy.
All around the city, they saw people struggling to get the power back on.
'If Batman saw this oh he would let me have it.' Nightwing cringed.
"Help! Someone help!" Looking down Starfire cars piled up because the traffic light went off.
Flying down Starfire sees some people stuck inside.
"Hang on we'll get you out. Cyborg, Beast Boy!" Starfire calls out.
Coming to her aid, Cyborg rips the car doors off allowing Starfire to get them out of their seatbelts and lower them down to Beast Boy who turned into an elephant.
"Come on Electro where are you?" Nightwing asks when he saw a car at the top of the pile up begin to wobble and lean towards a mother and child.
Taking out a grapple gun he fires it allowing him to swing in and yank them out of the way before the car crushed them.
"Thank you so much." The mother smiles hugging him.
"It's not safe to be on the streets right now. Find shelter and wait for the power to come back on." Nightwing said as they ran off.
"Geez with all these accidents how are we gonna find Electro in all this?" Beast Boy asks.
"Ask nicely." Leaping in they saw Jolt Arachnid and Bumblebee join them.
"Glad you guys could make it." Cyborg said.
"I take it you're the backup Cyborg said that could help us." Nightwing assumes.
"Yep and thing we have an idea where Electro is." Jolt Arachnid said.
"Cyborg said you overheard him saying he wanted to power up and there's only 2 places he can do that. The Arc Reactor at Avengers Tower." Bumblebee lists.
"But the tower is in the opposite direction." Starfire said.
"And under heavy protection. Meaning he went for the other place. The Power plant." Jolt Arachnid said.
Hearing this the Titans narrowed their eyes ready to bring this villain down.
Meanwhile at Avengers Tower, another showdown was going down.
Flicking her whip, Black Cat was swinging away as Iron Spider chased after her.
"Get back here you!" Firing a web, Iron Spider traps her hand against the wall.
"Hey you better not get your goop in my hair." Black Cat said cutting herself free.
"Don't worry it wares off. But still long enough for me to throw you in your cage." Iron Spider said lunging at her.
Dodging the attack, Black Cat kicks him back.
"You know Spidey I bet if you ditched the whole goodey two shoes act you and I would make a great team. What do you say? Let me in on the good stuff hidden around here and I'll give you a 50/50 cut." Black Cat offers going on the attack throwing multiple punches and kicks.
"Sorry Kitty, but there's not enough money in the world to make me sell out my team." Iron Spider said blocking her attacks and yanking her in.
"Well what I gave you a little something extra?" Black Cat leans in and whispers that last part seductively.
Swinging a pincer it whacks Black Cat into the wall making her drop to her knees.
"Tempting but I have a better idea. Instead, you trying to make me a criminal why don't you be the one to change? Give up this life of crime, I bet Super Hero High would be more than happy to have someone with your skills." Iron Spider offers.
"Pass, this cat is not suited for hero life. Going to school, learning to be good, taking classes?" Black Cat readies her claws and slashes some strings causing the lights to drop down on them.
Acting quickly Iron Spider catches them before they could shatter allowing Black Cat to enter the next room where she saw three Iron Man suits in pods.
"Hmm could make a decent penny off any of these." Black Cat said about to grab one when Iron Spider flew in and tackled her to the ground.
Looking up Black Cat found herself pinned under him.
"Shame, with skills like this you'd be quite the help." Iron Spider said.
"Sorry cutie, but it's too late for me." Black Cat said.
"It's never too late to make the right choice. But you have to make it." Iron Spider said.
"It's cute you're trying to de claw me, but there's one thing you should know about me." Black Cat said.
"What's that?" Iron Spider asks when Black Cat counters and pins him to the ground.
"This cat likes to fight." Black Cat grins.
"Yeah well guess what, so does this spider." Growing his stingers, Iron Spider swings his arm cutting Black Cat's suit as she jumps back revealing her belly button.
Growling Black Cat looks up to see Iron Spider ready himself.
"You better think your next move carefully or I'll be ruining a lot more than your suit." Iron Spider threatens.
"You really know how to show a girl a good time spidey but I think it's time I bring in a few guests." Slashing the control panel an alarm went off.
"Oh no." Iron Spider gulps as the three Iron Man suits locked onto him. "Jarvis please tell me your online."
However all Iron Spider got was static.
"Oh crap." Iron Spider cringed as the three suits flew towards him and attacked.
"Have fun Spidey." Black Cat said before going off in search of more valuables.
Meanwhile at the Power Plant, Electro was in the middle of the power grid as he was using it to supercharge himself.
"Oh wow, and I thought you were ugly when Spider-Man dealt with you." Turning around Electro saw Nightwing, Starfire, Cyborg, Bumble Bee, Beast Boy and Jolt Arachnid glaring him down.
"You think I'm scared of two more faces? When I absorb all the power in this grid I will be a god." Electro declares.
"A god named Sparkles?" Jolt Arachnid jokes.
Roaring Electro fires a powerful electric attack at them but the 6 heroes leaped down.
"I think you need to be knocked down a peg!" Beast Boy said turning into a rhino.
Taking a stance, Electro hurls electricity at Beast Boy stopping the rhino in his tracks.
Flying in Bumble Bee shrinks down and fires multiple stingers at Electro making him flinch in pain.
"Why you!" He tries to zap her but the little bee was too fast for him.
"Hey back off!" Firing a web, Jolt Arachnid ties up Electro.
Moving in Cyborg nails Electro with a powerful left hook.
Shaking it off, Electro and Cyborg exchange attacks before Electro grabs Cyborg by the arm and zaps him.
"Thanks for the boost." Electro grins when Starfire flies in to try and help.
Seeing this, Electro hurls Cyborg at her sending both tumbling back.
From the opposite direction, Nightwing hurls multiple disks at him.
Turning around Electro zaps the projectiles destroying them.
Firing a web, Jolt Arachnid latches onto some debris and whacks Electro in the face with it sending him crashing into the grid.
"Is it me or are we getting our butts kicked?" Beast Boy asks.
"It's just you." Everyone said at the same time.
"Any ideas on how to beat him?" Jolt Arachnid asks.
"Let's see this guy absorbs power almost like a giant battery so what happens when you overload a battery?" Cyborg asks.
"Uh it charges your phone better?" Beast Boy guesses.
"It explodes." Nightwing realized. "We use his powers against him. I got a plan." Nightwing turns to them. "Bumblebee I need you and Cyborg to get inside the plant and restart the system. The rest of you help met get sparkplug all set."
"You ready Bumble Bee?" Cyborg asks.
"You know it." Bumble Bee grins.
"Now this is looking like a team." Beast Boy grins.
"Oh joy now it is our time to do the butt kicking." Starfire smiles.
"You bet it is. Titans go!" Nightwing declares as they ran into action.
Running inside, Bumble Bee and Cyborg ran right to the control panel.
"Alright I need a way to jumpstart the system." Bumble Bee said.
"On it." Cyborg said hooking his arm up to it.
Outside, Electro was flying around the grid chasing after Starfire.
Turning around Starfire hurls multiple starbolts at him making him cringe.
Using this opening Beast Boy turns into an Octopus and grabs Electro by the leg with his tentacle.
"Oh no you don't!" Beast Boy yells yanking him in.
"I'm gonna fry you into calamari!" Electro yells zapping Beastboy who quickly turns into an eagle and flies away.
"Okay guys need a little help!" Beast Boy yells as Electro chases after him.
Swinging in Jolt Atrachnid webs up Electro's hands before delivering a kick.
"You think I'm gonna lose to some Spider-Man copy?" Electro asks.
"Why not? You never beat the original." Jolt Arachnid taunts.
Leading him towards a gap in the grid where four tubes were set up, Jolt Arachnid fires four webs to connect them before firing one at Electro.
Twisting his tonfas into a staff, Nightwing stabbed into the ground like a lightning rod behind him.
"Jolt Arachnid!" Nightwing yells.
Pulling the webs with all his might Jolt Arachnid ties them to Nightwing's staff while Electro struggled to escape.
"Now! Do it now!" Nightwing yells.
Inside Bumble Bee pulls the lever restarting the system causing Electro to be zapped by all the electric energy causing him to scream in agony as the results caused all the power to go back on in the city and Electro to fall to the ground unconscious.
"W-We did it. We beat him." Beast Boy smiles.
"And we got the power back on." Jolt Arachnid said as Bumble Bee and Cyborg joined them.
"Booyah! We shut sparkplug up!" Cyborg laughs.
"You guys were awesome!" Bumble Bee smiles.
"Not as awesome as you guys." Beast Boy smiles.
"I believe we were all awesome." Starfire said.
"Yeah we were." Nightwing smiles.
"And with the power going back on no one will know how badly we messed up." Beast Boy said.
"I wouldn't be so sure about that." A familiar voice said causing them to freeze up.
Turning their heads the 6 teens looked to see Nick Fury glaring at them.
"We need to talk." Fury said causing them all to gulp in fear.
"You just had to jinx it." Nightwing sighs.
Back in Avenger's Tower, Iron Spider was struggling as the three Iron Man suits were turning him into their punching bag.
Holding out his hand, Iron Spider blasts them away.
Using this opening he fires multiple webs to try and tie them up but they broke through.
"Oh man, Mr. Stark is gonna kill me for this. Activate Instant Kill!" Iron Spider as his eye slots glowed red.
Lunging at them, Iron Spider pincers ripped apart the three Iron Man suits to pieces.
As one flew in the pincers pierced through the chest plate before throwing it against the wall.
Moving to the other two they Shish kabobbed them until the pieces were scatted all over the room.
Panting heavily, Iron Spider looked to see the rest of the power start to turn back on.
"One thing left to do." Iron Spider growls.
Deep inside the tower, Black Cat looked to see a heavily guarded area.
"Ooh I bet this is where they keep the good stuff." She grins when a web wraps around her hands and she's yanked out to the room opposite a balcony.
"I think you've overstayed your welcome." Iron Spider said.
"You beat them all?" Black Cat said impressed.
"You bet I did and I think it's time someone gave you the boot kitty." Iron Spider said.
"Aw but I was getting right to the good part." Black Cat pouts.
"Avengers Tower, activate defense protocol alpha!" Iron Spider said as multiple high tech lasers and blasters came out and aimed themselves right at Black Cat.
"Oh boy." Black Cat cringed seeing everything was back online.
"It's over Black Cat." Iron Spider said.
"Interesting thought but, I don't think so." Throwing a smoke ball to the ground Black Cat made her escape.
Running outside, Black Cat flicked her whip and landed on the roof across from him.
"I had a fun night, let's do this again sometime." Black Cat calls out.
"If you ever change your mind and realize you're on the wrong side you know where to find me." Iron Spider calls out.
As the power turned back on in their block, Black Cat turned around and ran off.
Entering the tower, Jaden took his helmet off just as everything was back online.
"Mr. Cooper." Jarvis said turning back on.
"Jarvis, you sure took your sweet time." Jaden said walking in.
"Forgive me, Mr. Cooper but it took a little longer for the Arc Reactor to get me up and running. I see the tower is still in one piece. You encounter any troubles during the blackout?" Jarvis asks.
"Nothing I couldn't handle, but send you might want to do some cleanup in the Iron Man lab. I kinda wrecked a few suits." Jaden said.
"I'll see that it gets cleaned." Jarvis said
Walking to his desk, Jaden sat down to see the parts for TRACE-E still lying where he left them. "Wish I had you all fixed up. You would have been some help."
Meanwhile a few rooftops away, Black Cat jumped down and leaned against fire escape as she looks back at Avenger's tower.
Pausing she thought about what Iron Spider said to her.
'It's not too late for you. If you ever change your mind, you know where to find me.'
Smiling Black Cat turns around and sees the tower in the distance.
"See you later spidey, I'll be sure we keep in touch." She giggles leaving to an unknown location.
The next morning at Superhero High, the Teen Titans were being lectured by Fury.
"You kids have any idea how much trouble you caused? A city-wide blackout and a supercharged supervillain. You kids seriously thought you could just form a team and be on the same level as the Avengers?"
Frowning Nightwing stepped forward. "Mr. Fury, I'm sorry. I thought I was ready to lead, but in truth I still have a lot to learn, but my team and I, we truly want to do good but I guess we have a ways to go."
"Yes you do…but you do have potential." Nick said walking up to them. "I'm willing to offer the Titans a chance to be more, but from now on you kids answer to me."
"Wait you're giving us a chance?" Beast Boy smiles.
"You want to sponsor the Titans?" Cyborg smiles.
"Why not? I think the world can benefit from one more super team." Fury nods.
"Oh much thanks." Starfire smiles.
"However if you kids are gonna be on the same level as the Avengers you're gonna needs some help. I made some calls to a few SHIELD Agents and they've agreed to take you on as your mentors." Fury said.
"Mentors? Who are they?" Bumble Bee asks when someone flew in from the back.
Landing in front of them was a man with dark skin, goggles and a high-tech wing suit.
From the roof, a woman with long red hair and a tight spy suit dropped down and struck a cool pose.
Finally riding along a cable, a man with blonde hair, shades, a purple and black outfit and a bow and arrow dropped in.
"Titans meet Agent Sam Wilson." Fury starts.
"Call me Falcon." He grins.
"Agent Natasha Romanoff." Fury said pointing to the woman.
"The Black Widow." She answered.
"And finally, Agent Clint Barton." Fury said.
"Otherwise known as Hawkeye." He smiles.
"As of today, these three will be your mentors, but make no mistake, they will push you to your limits. You want to play in the big leagues well then you better step up Titans." Fury said.
Looking to Cyborg, Jolt Arachnid, Starfire, Beast Boy and Bumblebee, Nightwing saw each one of them had determined looks on their faces.
Smiling he turns to them and nods. "We're ready."
