Chapter III: Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Actions
Saturday morning came lightly and calmed for Sakura as never before in the last few months. Living with her mother was almost like being a teenager again, and she was virtually becoming crazy. Hence, the idea of not having her around for two full days was more than attractive for her. Sakura stretched in her tiny bed and felt her body relax. She watched at the nightstand clock and realised that it was still early for a Saturday, but somehow she wasn't sleepy anymore. It was as if she had rested for days, and she wasn't quite sure how that happened when only yesterday afternoon, she thought she was feeling suicidal: the summer heat, the situation at her own apartment, the long shift at the hospital, the online classes, the lack of dates, the... Oh...
The memories were starting to come back.
Suddenly, when Sakura finally fully opened her eyes, she found the tv still on. She made eye contact with the empty bottle of wine with the glass next to it and the window fully open, which led her to acknowledge how pasty her mouth was and how messy her hair and sticky her underwear were.
She, Haruno Sakura, the always correct and strict woman who never made anything out of the ordinary, nothing like to be ashamed of, or nothing out of line or law, was feeling absolutely relaxed and well-rested because yesterday night she had the courage and lousy judgment to masturbate in front of a neighbour. A neighbour whom she was sure that if she didn't dedicate herself to forget, would become her obsession because without losing objectivity, although all the evidence was against her, was the most sensual and attractive man she had ever seen in her lifetime. Sakura got further into the bed and covered herself with the sheet, which was unbearable with the morning's heat.
What the hell was she thinking?
If she had to be honest with herself, what she had done was not right. Exposing herself like that to a stranger, who could be anything but a decent person, was dangerous and crazy, but on the other hand, she had rarely felt so powerful and desired as last night.
Sakura boasted of her excellent judgment, and the man at the window, although he had never stopped looking at her, had not even bothered to return the courtesy of masturbating himself in front of her at the same time; therefore, she did not feel that he was a pervert, perhaps he had also been surprised by her attitude. With that thought in mind, Sakura felt better about herself again, and decided that what was done was done and that she would put this adventure in the past, no matter how tempting it sounded in her head to seek it out again.
Sakura jumped out of bed with her shirt tightly closed and her entire body well covered. It was decided. No more one-sided flings with hot neighbours. She closed the window for good and turned the air conditioning on. But, on second thought... She wasn't going to put her mother in the terrible situation of increasing her expenses. The window should remain open.
Sakura stood there for a moment. Using her mother's economy wasn't fair. Still, it was a valid excuse, so instead of recognising herself as a manipulative, spoiled, cynical only child, she opened the window again and took a deep breath of the summer breeze and, of course, a quick glance at the balcony in front of hers.
Darkness.
Good... Right? The apartment in front of hers was plunged into darkness thanks to those modern curtains that covered even the slightest ray of light and that she had requested for her own apartment. Time seemed to disappear when they were down, and it was difficult to know if it was day or night, which made them perfect, especially if what was wanted was to disappear from the world for a while. And luckily, the stranger seemed that at this time of the morning, he had decided either to disappear or he wasn't even home. Perhaps he also had a private life, in which she indeed was not part of it, no matter what she had done last night that, of course, it had already been in the past.
With that thought in mind, Sakura went to the bathroom to shower and start her weekend in the most productive way she knew: go out jogging and do some shopping; she needed to go to the grocery store. She couldn't survive with noodle soups and deliveries boxes.
Half an hour later, and still with an aking sensation roaming through her body Sakura was on the streets running as if she was running for her life because trying to forget the last night was becoming an impossible task. She couldn't stop thinking about the man who lived so near her mother's apartment that she could meet him in every neighbourhood corner. So many questions about him were around her mind that she could only think she had to subject them to the right thoughts, the good ones, those that nothing had to do with hot nights and possibly long sex sessions. Chaste thoughts like what was his job, if he had a family, if he was married or single. Did he like kids? Was he a cat or a dog person?
Who was him?
Suddenly, Sakura arrived at the grocery store, and after paying for her goods, she went out with the sensation that someone was watching her. Finally, she definitely went mad, and instead of going home, she decided to go to the coffee store for some breakfast. Every place was better than that apartment full of ghosts and unwanted thoughts.
Kakashi never thought that only by walking through the streets in a typical and innocent stroll through the city with his beloved Pakkun, he would be face to face or almost face to face with the strange pink-haired girl from yesterday night. And even if he knew that the best thing to do, the right action to follow, was trying to forget about her, seeing her there was the worst thing that would ever happen to him. Because right now, he just saw an ordinary woman, and as mundane as that could sound, it was the most appealing thing he could come up with. The girl in the window was no more a strange woman touching herself in front of him, for him, just for the hotness of the moment defying all kinds of limits, taboos and fears, even if he agreed that women should be able to enjoy their sexuality as they wanted. Now the hot neighbour was just a girl that jogged in the mornings, did her shopping, seemed quite kind judging by her smile, and looked perfect in that comfortable clothes. He liked that.
She looked fearless and confident with herself, and Kakashi felt awful with that thought. He much rather had preferred to remain with the image from yesterday because turning her into a human being was dangerous. If Kakashi were Genma, he would stay with the object woman of the previous night and would even have jumped across balconies to find her. If he were Guy, he would ask for her phone number and a date and talk about how the luck of youth was flourishing between them, and if he were Obito, he would admire her from a distance without ever saying a word. He did not make a complete one among the three of his friends, which confused him the most.
So much confused he was that he didn't notice when he started following the girl after she left the market. Pakkun wasn't helping either, the little pug was leading the way too content for Kakashi's liking, but he didn't do much to stop him. If anyone asked, it was the dog's fault; he was just walking him.
The stranger looked good from behind. She had a natural and delicate sway. The elegance of a woman who knew she was a woman capable of making the world stop if she wanted to, but at the same time, a slight curvature in her shoulders gave her away: it was as if she carried a lot of weight on them. Too much for his relatively small body if he looked at it more closely. Her neck looked tense. She was a woman who was used to working, that was for sure, but what kind of work? For her purchases, despite including a few bottles of wine, most of it was healthy food, some sort of doctor perhaps? So many maybes drove him crazy. It was easier to keep the image of last night, but no. Hatake Kakashi had the need to know more about her.
Kakashi arrived at the same coffee store as the pink-haired girl and remained outside for a few moments, still holding Pakkun's leash. He felt dirty and out of his mind. If someone had told him that he was ever going to be involved in this situation, he himself would have gone to the police to file a self-report for harassment, but for some reason, he felt that in this whole story of just a few hours, there was so much more than meets the eye. So without further thought, he went into the bar, and from the corner, he spotted the girl and was greatly surprised when for the first time, he heard her name.
Haruno Sakura.
So here I'm again! First let me tell you thank you all for the support on this story, I know it's crazy and all that but I hope it will be fine. I tend to start everything thinking that stories are going to be short, but then they seem to come alive and they start making me write more and more about them, so I don't know how long they will actually last. Just stay with me till the end and let's have fun.
About this story: I have a dream with the plot, and also I used to have a neighbour that I used to spy when I was younger, of course, nothing remotely close to anything told here ever happened but it was fun though. He used to be a therapist, so basically I used to spied his patients and not him, but I guess it was kind of the inspiration.
Please please please, comment, love, share and show me all your love cause more is coming.
